Prologue Ten Years Ago
“Mommy, mommy, look what I found in the garden,” Sahara exclaimed, bursting into her mother’s bathroom, thrusting forward the tiny bundled up kitten. Katakana Lee stepped out of her bubble bath and dried herself quickly. She put her robe on, turning to face her daughter, worried instantly at the thought of her only child out at night. She bent down, hauling her Sahara’s small body into her arms, smashing the kitten between them in the process. Katakana pulled back at the sound of the small cat mewling. At ten years old, her daughter was still so tiny. But her size wasn’t what worried her the most. Katakana smoothed her daughter’s hair back. She feared for her daughter welfare constantly. The world was not a safe haven anymore. Creatures roamed the night, plaguing the streets with death and destruction. No humans or paranormal were allowed to step out at night. The curfew set by the hunters and leaders ensured safety for the humans. She tried to ensure her daughter followed all the rules. But at ten years old it was the tender age of discovery and adventure. She had her hands full trying to keep Sahara in line. “Sahara, honey, you know you are not supposed to go outside at night. There are bad people out there that would do anything to harm you.” “Mommy, I heard it crying in the garden. I just couldn’t leave it.” “I know honey, but…”

Glass breaking and evil laughter below had Katakana shoving her daughter behind the bathroom door to protect her. In that moment she knew through her psychically in tune soul, that she wouldn’t be living past tonight. She was capable of extraordinary mental processes, such as extrasensory perception and mental telepathy, which is why her psychically had never let her down before.
There was no time to analyze it. Her only objective was to get Sahara to a safe place. “Sahara, did you leave the door opened?” Sahara trembled with fear. “Yes. I wanted to show you the kitten, Mommy. I guess I forgot.” Katakana quickly turned off the lights and opened the bathroom closet. “Sweetie, listen to me very closely. I need you to do a big favor for me, honey,” Katakana whispered quickly. It was essential she didn’t show her fear in front of Sahara. “Go hide in the closet. Now listen, baby, this is where it’s important. Whatever you hear, do not leave from your hiding place for any reason.” “Mommy, I’m scared.” “I know you are, sweetie. You have to be strong on this, honey. I need a promise from you. Promise me, you won’t leave the closet no matter what you hear?” Sahara sniffed. She was too young to understand what was going on, but she wanted to please her mommy, so she promised. “I won’t move, Mommy. I promise.” Katakana dropped a kiss to her daughter’s forehead. “I love you more than anything in this entire world, honey. Always remember that.” “Me too, mommy,” Sahara whispered, clutching the tiny kitten to her. “Make sure that kitten doesn’t make a sound,” Katakana warned quickly as she

closed the closet door behind her. She quickly shut the bathroom door and tiptoed her way to the bedroom. Katakana picked up the phone, only to have it yanked away in a flash. “Where is she?” Her heart clenched as she realized who the voice belonged too. He had finally found her. “She’s not here.” Long fingernails the shape of talons grabbed her hair in a painful clutch and pulled her neck back. *****
Sahara dropped the kitten and covered her ears. She was so scared. The screaming was too loud and it was hurting her ears. She shut her eyes. A scene flashed quickly like a movie across her eyelids. Her mother’s body held in the tight grip of a monster. Sahara couldn’t take it anymore. She had to see with her own eyes if her mommy was okay. She slowly opened the door to the bathroom closet and peeked out. It was too dark to see anything, but she knew that was her mommy out there screaming. She crept silently to the bathroom door and inched it open. The light from the hallway was bright, but she only wanted a quick peek, just to make sure her mom was okay. The horror of the sight in front of her seemed like one of those bad movies, her mom never let her watch. Sahara stood trembling in fear at the sight of the horrible man’s teeth in her mom’s throat. The bad man gurgled as he swallowed deeply and continued to drink from her mom. She wasn’t a stupid child. Sahara knew that this was one of the

creatures her mom had always warned her about. Her mother’s black bottomless gaze of despair was frozen and empty of life. Sahara let the tears flow free, understanding that her mom was no longer there. You will not die in vain, she silently whispered to her mother. The Celtic green symbol glowed on the hand that clutched her throat. Sahara forced herself to watch, taking in every fine detail in front of her, committing it to memory. Mom always said she would grow up to be big one day, and when she did, she would hunt down the monster that took her mother’s life away.

Chapter 1 Fifteen Years Later
The shrouded bushes coupled with the dark filled night hid the scene before her effectively well. If it was not for her paranormal abilities, she would have never known there was a vampire in the alley. The smell of the hunt enticed her, and she craved the kill with a desperate passion. Sahara Lee hunted with a general purpose to bring death among the ones who preyed on the defenseless, but it was her personal goal that kept her hunting every night. Sahara closed her eyes as she silently remembered the person she loved more than anything in this world. Her mother was her life, and some vampire had ripped her apart as if that life meant nothing. Dressed in a ninja style black suit, she stalked the alley silently. It was something she did every night, in hopes to rid the world from the creatures that emerged when the moon rose. The only lamppost besides the building provided a dim horrific glimpse of the sight, holding her immobilized in its grip. The vampire held its victim against him with such ease and determination. Sahara couldn’t move her eyes from the one-inch pair of long vampire teeth that hung like steel from his upper mouth. It was something she ought to have been used to, but she wasn’t. It still amazed her that creatures like this existed and lived among humans. Monsters that hunted them as if they were meals, drinking the blood, and then carelessly tossing out the bodies like garbage.

She remained about twelve feet from the grisly scene locking eyes with the soulless ones of the victim. In the middle of his meal, the vampire did not even spare a glance at her as his teeth stayed lodged into her neck. Blood spurted, pouring out of the wound like a river rushing to meet its end. The killer licked his lips as if savoring the liquid, then glanced straight into her eyes. If she would have been a minute earlier, the woman could have been saved, but Sahara learned long ago it was okay to grieve for the past, but to ensure her saneness and survival, she had to move on. It was a way for her to survive the dreaded creatures and to move on with the oppressive bleakness that plagued her. Sahara reached for the Sai set of knives strapped to her hips. The Sai swords were crafted with leather bound handles and the point of steels were purposely dipped in holy water, an essence not lethal to vampires, but capable of causing temporary impairment. They were the weapons she had grown to love, wielding them with the practiced ease she had been taught from her Japanese master. Sahara turned on the earpiece communicator she always wore when roaming the streets and linked it the paranormal task force unit. The only reason she was calling the murder in was because there was a body this time around. Normally, the vampire would have attacked her when they saw her walking alone in the streets, and she would have separated their black hearts from their bodies or cut off their head. “Paranormal task force. What is your emergency?” It was not normal protocol for her to be hunting at night alone. Sahara expected there would be a price to pay for that alone. “Sahara, checking in. I’m standing around the corner of a warehouse type building

between Lexington and Grand. I need a unit here. We have one fatality and one vampire.” “Can you provide a description of the vampire?” “Listen to me lady! A fucking vampire just ripped a woman’s goddamn throat out. Take a guess on what it looks like and get a unit out here now. Call Sloan Garrison. He heads VCPTF.” “We have dispatched a unit and they should be there in two minutes. What is your name, Ma’am?” “Tell him it’s Sahara Lee. He’ll know who it is.” “Ma’am, the unit is on their way. Can you stay at the scene without being in place of any danger?” Sahara disconnected the transmission. There were more important things she needed to be doing right now, definitely answering moronic questions weren’t one of them. The black shadow slowly crept up to her. Sahara timed the movements as the vampire flew at her with a tremendous amount of speed. She kicked at his chest dipping one of the knives into his shoulder. He didn’t scream. That alone surprised her. She had been known to make their kind scream with torture, before killing them. His vile blood sprayed at her as his body suddenly appeared behind her. Sahara turned, her eyes narrowing as she realized the holy water had no effect in disabling him. “You fucking whore hunter bitch. You don’t know who it is you’re fighting, do you?” he whispered menacingly. Her gaze skimmed him, and her eyes came to rest on the Celtic symbol that glowed on the back of his hand. Her body tingled as memories rushed into her. The

glowing symbol brought her back in time when she could no longer afford to be a little girl and had grown up quickly. Sahara battled the need to rush towards him in a murderous rage. She had just found the one person who had been her ultimate reason in becoming a hunter. Sahara flipped the knives in an upward arch and ran at him again. The vampire smirked, then disappearing in a smoky flash before her. Her booted heels skidded on the cement ground as she came to an upright halt. Another disgusting trait a vampire had…the ability to vanish like a scared pig. “I have no time to play hide and seek with you. Come out and fight, you demented son of a bitch!” she shouted. “It is you who should seek shelter, my dear,” he whispered closely to her ear. Sahara tensed as he gripped her neck tightly, and in one instant slashed her neck with his teeth. She felt every slow inch as his talon bit into her neck, breaking the skin. He tasted her blood, licking loudly at the droplets that surfaced on her neck. Fuck, how did she not see this coming? Her heart beat rapidly while she struggled to maintain a hold on her thoughts as dizziness threatened to overtake her. Her fists clutched the swords desperately as she silently twirled them around. She wasn’t able to move her neck, but with a will made of steel, she shoved them into the vampire’s stomach. She didn’t expect his release of her to come so suddenly. She tumbled on her heeled boots, regaining her balance once more. Sahara turned and saw nothing, but heard the deathly vampire’s whisper. “You will not hide from me, hunter. Now that I have tasted your blood!”

***** The vampire watched the hunter from between the universes. It was an unexpected surprise that someone was there watching him, even more unexpected was the familiar taste running through his veins. He closed his eyes and inhaled the scent of death as her blood coursed through his veins, his teeth dripping with the essence of life. Her blood was strong and uniquely refreshing. She was different. This one had multiple gifts. Sahara Lee. Memories long forgotten slammed through him as he tried to hold the demon craving her blood inside. It would be too easy to go after her now. Maximum Forester loved the thrill of the chase, and she just gave him a reason to hunt again!

Chapter 2
The black-haired vixen arrived just in time, dressed only in a white lacy see through g-string. The edges of his vision darkened. In the back of his mind Sloan knew this was one of his erotic fantasies, but it didn’t stop his cock from throbbing and pulsating in demand. Sloan felt his pre-juices seep through the slit in arousal, at the sight. She walked forward, alluring … a true vision of pure ecstasy. Her voluptuous form crawled on the bed like a feline stalking its prey. The foggy formed temptress placed her hand on his shaft and stroked it from base to tip. His balls tightened in wonderful agony, awaiting the pleasures she would perform for him tonight. Sahara eyed him with hunger in her eyes, as she placed her lips on the round head of his cock. Instant heat traveled to his balls as he fought the urge to shove his cock between her lips. She sucked the head zealously with a steeled determination that had him groaning loudly. He felt her draw him deeper, until the tip of his cock touched the back of her throat. In the back of his mind, Sloan knew this wasn’t real. But that didn’t stop the euphoria he was experiencing from playing itself out. Sloan fought the need to spill his seed, wanting to savor every sexual enchantment she provided. He watched her. She possessed the ultimate luring presence he relished to possess. Hot fiery sensations traveled up his cock making him hunger for more of her. She sucked like an erotic enchantress, licking his shaft from base to tip, then swallowing his

entire dick whole. He teetered on the very edge of fulfillment as she continued to lave and cradle his balls, and when he felt the fiery stings of completion travel up the base of his spine... The telephone’s loud piercing blare woke him from one of the greatest erotic dreams he had ever had yet. Detective Sloan Garrison groaned in anger. He was in the middle of the best wet dream, starring the one and only Sahara Lee, and someone had the nerve to interrupt him from sexpot he masturbated to every night. His dick was pulsing a throbbing frustrated beat ,at being denied the pleasure of spilling its seed. The insistent ringing had him rolling over and reaching for the phone. “Hello,” he barked in annoyance. “Sloan, its Keith!.” “What’s wrong?” Sloan sat up. Captain Keith Mariano didn’t make night calls unless they were urgent. “A vampire killed tonight. I’m calling in an urgent meeting.” “I’ll be there in ten minutes.” “Sloan, wait. There’s more.” It was unlike the Captain to delay anything. There was an eerie pause to his voice. “Spill it, Keith.” “Sahara witnessed the murder. She saw a vampire rip the throat out of this one.” Holding the cordless phone between his shoulder and ear, Sloan jumped out of bed and grabbed for his jeans. “Is she okay?” Sloan stuffed his hard aching shaft into his jeans. The agony of being denied its release showed on the angry colored skin.

“The vampire tasted her blood. She’s on her way in now.” “Fuck! I’ll be there in ten minutes.” The idea that she had actually seen a vampire didn’t disturb him. It was the fact that he had tasted her blood and let her escape with her life that did. A paranormal beast would never let a human live. Sloan hung up the phone. He was dressed and out the door in five.
*****
“Pay attention ladies and gentlemen. I’ve called this emergency meeting for a reason. Sloan Garrison pushed the double doors to the conference room, just as Keith began the conference. He took the nearest seat and nodded to his partner, Lucian Knight. The room quieted down. “Our next case involves a vampire. Sahara went hunting tonight. She caught a vampire ripping the throat out of a human. We are waiting for Sahara to give us a description. Once we have one, it will be posted on the bulletin. Here is where it gets urgent folks. The vampire tasted Sahara’s blood.” It was virtually unheard of a vampire tasting the blood of a human and releasing its prey. On the rare occasions it did happen, the beast would enjoy tormenting its prey and tracking it down. After that death was imminent. Sloan glanced around the room expecting to see her already there. She was not around yet. He focused on the update. The need to go to her burned in his veins, but he

waited. There would be time later to investigate her angle. The Captain spoke loudly, his booming voice heard clearly through the room. “We are looking for a very dangerous vampire. You all know what happens when a vampire taste the blood of its victim. No one has debriefed Sahara as of yet on the crime. I’m leaving that to Sloan and Lucian. They will be handling the case. For those of you who are worried about Sahara, she is on her way in.” The captain continued his latest update. “The victim’s name is Marsha Hunter. She was last seen alive coming from Ray’s Bar on the corner of Grand and Lexington. She was left behind a dumpster, entirely nude. The vampire grabbed her from behind as she was heading home. There was evidence of rape and deep lacerations to the neck. The victim was drained of all of her blood. Sloan and Lucian are in charge. Any questions you have can be directed at them. “ Sloan met the eyes of his Captain, and with a nod of consent from him, he made his way to the head of the conference room. In a crime ridden community like Broward County-Miami was filled with paranormal. Sloan and Lucian were simply the best when it came to tracking the abnormal killers. No one had yet discovered where the creatures came from. The first ever known existence of a vampire was in the eighteen hundreds. He had yet to meet one who did not slaughter humans or change the decisive few that fell into their traps. Now the entire world was on the verge of being overrun with werewolves, witches, and vampire. Sloan placed himself in front of the microphone, pushing out orders to the hunters scheduled to patrol the area. “I want five teams of three men each covering the New City Area. It’s not a very

large street gap. This is the second drained body in a week. He has struck both times at midnight. We go in fully loaded. I expect all of you to be at the top of your game. See Lucian for your shifts,” Sloan demanded, nodding to his partner. The doors to the conference room burst open and slammed shut. Sloan turned his head, ready to rip into the person that dared disturbed the important meeting. Sahara entered looking contrite and grabbed the seat next to Lucian. “Sorry I’m late.” She directed the apology to the Captain, never removing her eyes from Sloan. Sloan’s eyes flew to the white, bandaged area on her neck. Raw, unbridled thoughts of fury flowed through him at the thought of her being hurt. The vampire would die a slow death for hurting her. His gaze traveled lower. It perturbed Sloan that his cock rose at the mere sight of her dressed in one of her illicit sex driven uniforms, when mere seconds ago he was more worried about the injury the vampire caused. But he could not for the life of him take his eyes off the red strapless bustier that covered half of her breasts while the uncovered portion spilled out. Sloan licked his lips in reaction to the enticing picture she presented. The red leather low waist pants hugged her hips firmly and displayed a small glimpse of her flat stomach. Her long brown hair curls flowed down to her waist, and Sloan’s palms began to itch with the urge to run his fingers through her curls. His shaft lengthened, unfurling in his pants, and throbbing in anticipation. He was grateful that the podium covered the evidence of his desire as he took a moment to collect his scattered thoughts. “That’s fine, Sahara,” Keith interjected. “We’re almost done here. Everything

you need to know is in this file. Sloan and Lucian are heading this. Your safety is our top priority.” “Let’s get to work ladies and gents,” Sloan commanded. “We want this beast off of our streets. Sahara, I want to see you in my office immediately.” Sloan walked out, expecting his orders to be carried out instantaneously. It wasn’t an ego thing. They were simply the best. Their scores of deaths attested to the fact. He and Lucian headed VCPTF, Violent Crimes Paranormal Task Force. It was a specialized unit based in Miami with a team of humans and paranormal dead-set on getting rid of the paranormal and demons who committed crimes against them. Keith, personally had handpicked each member over the years for their various talents and skills at fighting. Sahara had applied, and Keith quickly scooped her up for her advanced forensic skills. The added style of ancient ninja fighting was a plus to the team. He reached his office and slammed the door shut. What the hell was she doing out that time of the night? Who the fuck authorized her to hunt? Sloan knew for a fact her shift was not assigned for tonight hunting. He was dead-set on finding out what made her go out there without someone backing her up. The cop in him, commanded he ask. The man in him wanted to know for different reasons. Knowing Sahara was involved in some personal way burned a deep hole in his gut. She could have been killed tonight. Sloan needed to put aside the fact that he knew her to look at it from a professional angle. Protection was their number one priority! Sahara was very independent, which meant she would fight the guards they would set in place. His body remained rigid at the thought. It enticed him further to think of the different ways he would convince her. Sloan knew Sahara. Not as intimately like he wanted to, but professionally. She

was at the top of her game with a spotless record on her file. She was the best Miami had when it came to profiling paranormal criminals, as well as one of their finest hunters. She was a valuable asset to the team and to him. They worked together on cases time and time again. Sahara would investigate the crime scene, adding her own views on what happened. She had a way of twisting things around, offering a totally different perspective. Sloan would work with her piecing the puzzles together until they had the exact or a close replica on the crime that had took place. Sahara had joined VCPTF over two years ago. Some had been skeptical about her abilities. Even after all of the paranormals the team had fought, captured, or killed, some still were skeptical about her. Sloan had been one of those disbelievers. What would a team of paranormals need with a woman who psychically profiled killers for a living? He had initially scoffed at the idea of a psychic profiler on their team until Sahara had proven them wrong time and time again. Sahara had a rare understanding of how the criminal mind worked, a unique ability to delve into the bodies of the dead victims, and reliving their last moments in life. It was perhaps the most useful tool the team had in capturing the murderers. A woman fighting the beasts that plagued the Earth on a day-to-day basis was a unique thing. Other than Sahara and Selena, the twenty team members were primarily male. Half Japanese and half American, Sahara’s skills were rare as was her unmatchable background. A consummate artist of martial arts, she delivered as many deathblows to the paranormal as did the male portions of the team. She earned her respect

within their private clique and was ruthless within her own right. Professional admiration was one thing. It was the personal one that Sloan had a hard time dealing with. There was a silent, powerful, commanding aura about Sahara, an attribute he found extremely attractive having never felt with another woman. Everyday had become a constant battle within him, to still the raging beast inside and wait for the perfect time to make his move. The times he had been in alone in a room with her, it had taken all of his strength not to throw her across his desk and fuck her like an animal in heat. She was his number one star in his daily dreams of fucking her in various places. She had a way about her that made him want to lick, suck, bite, and fuck her till they both came and came again. Her full lips were always bare without makeup, bringing forth visions of those luscious beauties wrapped around his shaft. But it was her vivid green eyes that drew him to her, eyes that were unique in every way. Shaped like a feline, their crystalline brightness was as clear as day. Her eyes told him everything. There was a silent eerie connection. He read every impression of hers as if he were reading a book. Perhaps, it was a psychic connection between them. Nothing surprised him anymore. He tended to take everything in stride, but Sahara had a way of messing with all of his best intentions. Sloan wanted her with a fierce ache. It was like a hunger gnawing at the pit of his stomach, waiting for it to be appeased. But she was different, nothing like the women he ever had sex with. It shamed him to admit that it terrified him to need someone like the air he breathe. Sloan had never needed anyone. He never slept with women. He fucked them. It was an entirely different thing when you had great, detached sex, then show them their

way out his door. He was comfortable with it, plus he made sure the women understood from the beginning he didn’t want a relationship. Sahara was a whole new ball game. He readied himself, certain the time to bring their passions forward was near. A knock on the door brought him out of his personal musings. “Come in,” he shouted, and waited for the one woman who could bring him to his knees, to enter.

Sahara fought the urge to run from Sloan. In a world where beasts existed, not many things scared her. The strange psychic connection they seemed to share did. It happened every time she was in a room alone with him. Sahara knew what he felt about her through the silent vibrations she could feel from him. She knew that when she walked into the meeting that his cock was rigid in arousal, hidden behind the podium. It freaked her out to be so in tune with him. In the whole two years they had known each other; neither of them had ever spoken about it, nor acted out on the fiery sexual urges that plagued them. The private feral looks Sloan sent her way only increased and heightened her arousal towards him. They made her see him as something more, something that was entirely too male. She had dreamed about becoming more than just a unit member to him too many times, but she held back. Sahara could not quite place what it was, but there was something buried deep inside of him that made her think twice about pursuing a personal relationship. She could read him just as she knew he could read her. She had joined his team two years ago with a silent motive. Her number one priority was capturing the vampire that left her mother drained of life. It was by sheer luck that she had found the barbarian who had snuffed the only person who had ever cared for her. The Celtic tattoo symbol the vampire wore on his hand had shocked her. She had never expected to find the killer in an alleyway. It seemed her hunting nights had finally paid off!

The vampire tasting her blood had repulsed her on many levels. The piece of degenerate slime had let her go for a reason. Sahara knew she had now become the hunted. It didn’t bother her one bit. Let him come. She had been waiting for him for two years, the urge for retribution flowed through her veins like blood. She was ready to put her mother’s soul to rest, but she needed to be levelheaded about this. A myriad of thoughts and emotions swirled inside of her head as Sahara search deep inside for semblance of control. She needed it right now, like the air she breathed. Revenge could destroy you, if you didn’t have balance within yourself to keep a justified focus. The best laid plans were never the ones that played out correctly. The information she found out today had to be wielded carefully. She did not know if the right thing to do was to let Sloan in on her discovery. That would mean telling him her history as well as the reason as to why she joined his team. Sahara didn’t know what Sloan’s reaction would be. For now, it was best she kept it from him. Anxiety tipped her stomach as she rapped her knuckles on the door and entered on Sloan’s command. As usual, he sat upon his throne reeking of the imposing presence he always commanded. She suddenly forgot the angst she had been feeling, her attention alert on him. God, he was so handsome. His sun-kissed blonde hair was overly long falling to his shoulders. He usually wore it tied to the nape of his neck. Sahara loved it when he sometimes came into work with it loose. It made him look like a rebel, tough and aggressive. The untamed look in his hazel eyes only heightened the features on his classic Italian face. “Sit down.” Sahara squirmed, silently reprimanded herself for doing it. He was such a hard

ass who demanded obedience and attention. It always showed in his tone of voice. Sahara took the chair straight across from his. “Explain to me what you were doing out at that time of the night alone?” Sahara gasped in annoyance. Of all the questions she expected him to ask, this one was not it. “Are you serious?” “I did not authorize you to hunt. What were you doing out alone?” She clenched her teeth in anger. “I was hunting after-hours,” she emphasized the word by stating it louder than the others. “I do not see what my personal life has to do with you.” Sloan leaned forward. His muscles tensed under his shirt, the fabric clinging tighter to his skin. Sahara could see the detailed lines of his magnetic power bursting forward. Her annoyance subsided at the dominant sight he created. She blushed furiously as she felt her pussy moisten in response to his male dominance. “It has everything to do with me. You are a member of my team, Sahara. I need to know what you were doing hunting alone and unsupervised. This vampire bit you, and you know very well what that entails. I want to know all of it, Sahara, now!” “My personal life has never been in question here, but for the sake of appeasing the asshole in you, I will tell you everything. From the beginning!” He smirked at her words, but Sahara saw his eyes flash, and then darken. Just by the small detail in his eyes, Sahara instantly knew when Sloan found she was hiding something from him. “You will tell me everything you know in time, Sahara, but for now why don’t you appease the asshole in me, and begin.” “Shouldn’t we wait for Lucian?” Sahara asked, trying to delay the inevitable.

“Lucian is overseeing the crime scene. We will head over there, shortly. I want some details from you first.” She blew a frustrated breath. “I was out hunting. It’s something I do every night when I’m restless.” “You’ve been doing this alone every night?” he muttered as if in disbelief she could do such a thing. “For how long?” “Weeks! Months! I do it when I can’t sleep,” she partially lied. “The crime in the city has escalated to an all time high with paranormals. It’s my duty to rid them from the streets.” “Your duty begins here, Sahara. What possessed you to go out in the middle of the night with no backup?” Sahara knew he was right. The team knew not to confront any paranormal creature without backup. It was a rule designated for their protection. The team knew his orders were to be followed explicitly, but as soon as her shift ended, it was an entire new ball game. “I was restless.” Sloan rose from his chair and stalked around the front of the desk. He leaned back, crossing his ankles and arms, all the while giving her his all too knowing gaze. Sahara eyes dipped to the aroused cock only inches from her face. The sight stirred her arousal as her mouth went dry and her juices flowed. “When you’re done staring, you can look up here.” The red-hot heat that crawled to her face was instant. She raised her eyes and gave him an annoying glare. Yep, he was definitely in asshole mode.

“Do not think for one second that I believe any of the shit you’re sprouting from your beautiful lips.” Whether it was instinct or their unique bond that told him not to believe her, she didn’t know. Sloan was right not to trust her in this. Sahara did not do anything without a legitimate reason. “I will let it slide for now, but make no mistake we will get to the bottom of why you were doing it. Give me a physical description on the vampire.” Sahara shrugged. “Dark long hair, white pasty skin, he looked like every vampire we’ve ever come across, except he was dressed in a suit. Pretty elegant for a piece of slime, though if you ask me.” “What did you see when you entered the alley?” “The vampire was in the middle of ripping the throat out of his victim.” Her throat closed up as she battled the memories to keep them buried for a little while longer. Reminiscing about the past was not something she wanted to do right now. The desolation of losing someone you were sworn to protect always left an ache in your heart. “We can not always save the ones we are sworn to protect, Sahara. It hurts, but you learn to move on.” Sloan bewildered her. The gentleness in his voice was so contrary to the stern tone he favored at work. It kept her off balance on different levels. She would not let him see that though. Instead she just whispered, “I’m trying, Sloan.”
***** She was hiding something from him and it irked him to no end. The need to punish her, for the deception she tried to cover burned in his veins. This was something new to him. Sloan trusted her implicitly when it came to the jobs they set out to do. The

fact that she refused to trust him angered him. Instinctively he knew what she was keeping from him was personal. He desperately wanted her to trust him outside of work. For Sloan that was an aspect in their relationship he struggled with on a daily basis. His gaze flew to the bandage that graced her neck. Sloan closed the gap between them, and tilted her neck to the side carefully. The white-bandaged area was like a homing beacon, to the protectiveness that surged within him. Delicately he traced the fine lines of her neck, entranced momentarily at the softness against his fingertips, peeling the bandaged away slowly. Sloan heard her tiny gasp, but continued his examination. His eyes narrowed, as he honed in on the two pin pricks displayed on her skin. The force of his anger knew no bounds! He willed the fury that threatened to erupt down. It made no sense letting it go now, when nothing could be done. Retaliation was imminent. The vampire would pay for threatening one of his own. He would die a slow death for touching what he considered his. Sahara jerked her neck from his grasp and tilted her gaze back to him. “What are you doing?” Sloan avoided her question. “Does it hurt much?” “A slight throbbing pain, but other than that I’m fine. You did not answer me, Sloan. What were you doing?” “I needed to see how badly you were injured,” he bit out in frustration. “The vampire will die for draining the lives of humans. But he will suffer a slow death for touching you.” Her eyes flashed at his statement. “The vampire is mine to kill.” Sloan grabbed her by the shoulders and hauled her against his body. “You will not

do this alone! I forbid it as your leader. I’ll enforce the rule anyway I can.” Sahara smirked. “You have no say on my personal time,” she stated firmly. He saw it in her eyes, she was baiting him. He had fallen right into her trap. Emotions flared high as he struggled to calm his hardening cock. The feel of her body pressed tightly against his, brought forth the raging sexual desire he had been desperately trying to control. Sloan bent his head to place his lips against hers, slipping his tongue inside. Sahara moaned as her body softened in receptiveness accepting what he had to give. She tasted of ecstasy and foretold pleasures. The beast in him roared at her taste as he tangled his tongue with hers, dueling out the silent battle between him. He sucked on her mouth running his tongue over her lips before raising his head. “You will follow my rules, Sahara. If I have to fuck you and tie you to my bed to do it, then it will be my ultimate pleasure.”

Sahara heard Sloan’s demand, but the gnawing sexual craving in the pit of her stomach overrode any other sensation. She watched his eyes fill with heat and wanted to respond to the silent dominant call his gaze emanated. To say she’d never felt like this before would be way too tame. The attraction and connection between them didn’t compare to this moment. It was like his kiss had awakened a wildness, in her to fuck him. The hunger kept clawing at her as her pussy creamed. Sexual encounters were not a common thing for her. She had only one lover in the past, a student under Dominic’s training. That one night escapade had left a sour taste in her mouth. Two inexperienced young lovers getting together because they chose to rid themselves of their virginity didn’t make for a remembered night. It was a definite contrast to what she felt for Sloan. The need to crawl up to Sloan and beg momentarily stunned her. Sahara had never needed anyone before even though she cherished the relationship she had with her Uncle Dominic. As a child she had purposely separated herself from anyone wanting to be close to her. Dominic had raised her even though he did his best; the trauma of losing her mother was a constant pain in her heart. As she grew up she learned to hoard the pain, molding it into an ultimate goal of retaliation. At sixteen, Sahara had asked Dominic to teach her the ways of the Japanese ninja and to help her learn about her psychic ancestry. Besides learning about her mother’s ancestors, it

gave her an outlet to pour her anger into. This anxiety in her had her trembling inside. There was something in Sloan that called out to her. She leaned into him refusing to fight the battle any longer, nuzzling the skin exposed between his neck and shirt. Sahara inhaled, taking in the scent of him. Spiciness mixed with his own unique essence tickled her nose, making her juices flow stronger just from the smell of him. Sahara licked her lips in hunger. She took her time, tracing the definition of his muscles piercing through the shirt. Strong and hard –those were the best two words she would use to describe him. She tugged the shirt up over his torso, indicating to him with a pull, to raise his arms. He took over then, pulling the shirt off his body. She couldn’t hide the moan of surprise mixed with pleasure at the sight of his pierced nipples, decorated with small metal barbs. Sahara ran her palms over the expansive hard muscles and the tight, rigid lines displayed before her. She brought her lips against his warm skin flicking his pierced nipple with her tongue. She blew against the tip watching it tightened in arousal. It was a teaser to wet her appetite, and the beginning of something more than she had bargained for. “You are playing with a fire that runs deep, baby,” Sloan growled. She could feel her pussy dripping like a faucet, aroused beyond anything in her life. Sahara unbuckled his belt quickly, with pleasure erupting fiercely at the sight of him going commando. “I need to fuck you, Sloan.” The words were whispered, paling in comparison to what she was really feeling for him. It was never like this before. The attraction had always been there between them. Perhaps the building of the sexual heat between them needed to be acted out before it could ease.

“God, babe,” he groaned, as she fell to her knees in front of him, dragging his jeans down with her. Getting a close view of his cock had been one of her sexual dreams and she rejoiced inside at the sight. A dark, mushroom shaped head crowned the shaft, while his length ran at least eight inches long. Her hand closed around the base of his shaft, he groaned pressing forward. A deep, rigid vein pushed against the underside with Sahara’s mouth watered at the tempting sight. She opened her mouth and licked at the head, pushing her tongue around the width of him. His tasty pre-cum burst in her mouth! Sahara licked and savored the taste of him. His hands reached down, tightening on her hair as Sahara buried her face in his groin. She sucked until his shaft bumped the back of her throat. Sloan mumbled incoherently as he thrust fast and harder into her mouth. Sahara stroked his heavy, tightening sac and knew he was ready to erupt. She tugged his balls gently as his hands tightened in her hair as his seed spilled in the back of her throat. She swallowed the taste of him, enjoying the growling sounds coming from his lips. She made sure she licked his shaft clean, surprised at the aroused length it still maintained. Sahara stood and faced him, seeing the clear intent in his eyes.

things with her, and show her how grateful he was that she was still alive. God had given her another chance at life and Sloan intended to move forward. “Fuck, babe. This is long overdue.” “You’re telling me,” she moaned as he bent kissing her lips, not bothered by the taste of his seed in her mouth. He released her for just a second so he could push the files on his desk to the side along with the telephone. The sound of his paperwork hitting the floor with a thud didn’t deter him from his goal. Sloan pushed her leather pants down, and then reached up to push her bustier below her breasts. Unbound, the mounds were just the perfect size for his hands, with a lovely pink shade graced the hardened tips. His cock throbbed with heat at the sight of her rose colored nipples. He bent his head, licking at the tip, alternating between sucking and nibbling on it. She tasted of strawberries. Desperate for more of her, Sloan swallowed half of her breast into his mouth, sucking hard on the mound. He felt the raging need within him to eat her up and savor the taste of her. He released her breast with a pop, as the possessive beast in him roared at the dark mark he left on her skin. His eyes traveled to the red g-string still covering her wet pussy. His fingers traced the band of her panties, before ripping them from her. She whimpered as Sloan dipped two fingers into her pussy. Her cream dripped all over his fingers as he ran them over her the swollen folds of her labia. Sahara’s mind whirled with desire. Her body had no control when it came to him and reacted instinctively as she pressed closer to his hand, seeking relief. Sloan brought his hand to her face, painting her lips with the essence of her cream. Sahara’s pink tongue snaked out, swiping at her juices. He licked at her as he growled at

being able to taste her for the first time. She shattered all of his defenses since his control was hanging by a small thread. “Lay down on the table, Sahara.” Her eyes were glazed with desire as she moved quickly to follow his order. Sloan placed her Sai knives on the corner of the floor, pulling her pants down the rest of the way down, removing her panties and boots quickly. Sloan sat on the chair she had been occupying, wanting to get a close view to the succulent cunt she presented to him like food for a starved man. The position put his face inches from her luscious, pink, bare pussy. Sloan stared hungrily at the wet juicy lips that beckoned to him. It pleasured him immensely to just watch how her clit budded out in arousal. The male beast in him acknowledged and bathed in the pleasure that the arousal was for him alone. Sloan brought his lips to her cunt and swiped a taste of her cream. The flavor of her unique essence would have brought him to his knees, if he weren’t sitting down. Sahara thrust her pussy into his face with dire need to feel the relief he could give her. Sloan obliged her by burying his whole face into her cunt, shoving his nose, mouth and lips into her. He swirled his tongue on the throbbing bud of desire, then closed his lips around it. Her body jackknifed off the desk as Sloan tightened his grip on her thighs, holding her in place. He raked his teeth lightly over the bundle of nerves, setting off her orgasm. Sahara screamed out his name as she came all over his tongue, her juices flowing like a river. He sucked it all up, his hunger ravenous for her. Two years wasted when they could have been doing this…her cunt to his face and her mouth on his shaft. It was just a prelude to the explosion that would come between them. He didn’t mind it though.

Foreplay was a highly sensual game, and what better way than to do it than orally. Sloan stuffed his entire face into her, his nose bumping on her clit, while his tongue continued to taste everything she gave him. Sahara screamed in ecstasy as he brought her to another mind shattering orgasm, slamming her into a sexual rapture she’d never experienced. A red haze of clouded desire blinded him to fact that they were still in the work place. Sloan’s mind only screamed with the need to sink his hard dick into her. He placed the head into her fire-hot slickness sinking his steel shaft into her. He gripped her thighs as he sank one more inch slowly, delighting in the tight feel surrounding him. The telephone’s loud blaring ring had him tightening his hands on her thighs and stilling in sexual agony. He reached over pressing the talk button on the speaker. “This had better be important.” “It sounds like I’ve interrupted something important.” The sound of Lucian’s voice had Sahara bringing her weight to her elbows, as she attempted to dislodge his cock from her pussy. He stilled her with the palm of his hand on her flat stomach. Sloan groaned. “What is it Lucian?” “I need you and Sahara at the crime scene now. We’ve closed everything off and have collected all necessary evidence. The body is here waiting for you and Sahara to view it before we send it off to the morgue.” “Fuck!” he growled, and with willpower made of steel, he pulled his aching dick from the tight clasp of her cunt. The wet sucking noises had him fighting the desire to plunge into her again. He looked at Sahara’s face as her lips tightened into a thin line

with her cheeks blushing a beautiful shade of red. That was something he’d didn’t think he’d ever see, Sahara blushing. Lucian’s laughed, “Want to tell me what I interrupted?” “Fuck off, Lucian. I’ll be down there in ten minutes,” he growled, releasing Sahara’s hips at the same time reaching over to disconnect the speakerphone. Sahara lifted herself off of his desk and dressed quickly. He pulled up his pants and grabbed his shirt. An eerie moment flew by as they watched each other, silently trying to read each other’s feelings. Sahara turned from him, reaching for her knives and holstered them to her thighs once more. Sloan grabbed his Glock, pushing it into the waistband of his jeans. He grabbed his sword holster pulling it over his head. Sloan went into the side closet removing a Ninja style sword, placing it in its protective sheath. You couldn’t kill a vampire with a regular gun, but severing its head or piercing it through the heart was another story. He was top of his game when it came to commanding his team, but even more so a perfect match for Sahara’s style of fighting. Sloan watched her with a wary eye. She was too silent. He didn’t like it. “This isn’t over,” he growled. “In fact, we are just beginning.” She huffed, without a word, sauntered out of his office with a delicious sway to her attractive hips.

Chapter 5
The car raced up the highway with blazing speed. The morning sun horizon burned with a myriad of intense colors. Quickly, Sahara slid her shades on as the air blew cool. She had purposely left the windows down, hoping the wind would relieve her in some way, but it did nothing to tamp down the heat flaring inside of her. Sahara noticed the way his hands grasped the wheel so hard that his knuckles were white with the tension. What was going through his head? She knew what was going through hers. All she could think about was Sloan’s mouth on her pussy and the way it felt when she came all over his mouth. It was a highly sexually intense reaction to an equally intense man. It was something she replayed over and over since Lucian interrupted them. The wetness on her leather pants was uncomfortable, serving as a reminder of the pleasures he could give. Sahara swallowed and pressed down into the seat, hoping to relieve some of the pressure on her clit. If she were smart, she would put distance between them. She was holding onto a lie that could not only cost her job, but the man she had come to care about. Sahara knew Sloan would be pissed with the deception. She wouldn’t blame him, but neither would the worry of his anger alter her from seeking vengeance. She turned slightly to him. “Sloan, we need to talk…” “Don’t say it, Sahara,” he snapped. “It needs to be said,” she interjected, wanting to straighten what was between

them right away. “The timing was a mistake. Please understand that another time the sex would have been more than welcome.” “Do you hear what’s coming out of your lips? Another time the sex would have been welcome? I wasn’t the only one engaging in oral play.” “Do not be fucking crude, Sloan,” she smirked. “I’m merely stating that perhaps we should wait until this case is over. We will both be clear headed by then and can approach it with a different perspective.” The words fell from her lips with a surprising ease. It was a bunch of bullshit, she knew that, but something inside of her hoped that Sloan would buy it. The car stopped. Sloan turned his body towards her, piercing her soul with his dark gaze. “I don’t think so. We are not even close to being done yet. Now that I’ve had a taste of your lovely sex,” he whispered, “there is no way I’m stopping until I’m nice and full, , honey, I don’t think that’s going to be anytime soon.” He reached out and grabbed her hand, placing it over his steel cock. Her fingers circled the shaft through his jeans. The whispered words set off a kaleidoscope of sexual heat she barely had under control. “I picked a perfectly good day to be interrupting at intense moments.” Sahara pulled her hand back as she turned to face a smiling Lucian. “You weren’t interrupting. Everything’s fine,” she replied as she removed her shades. Lucian opened the door and Sahara took her cue for a quick exit. She threw a glance back at Sloan. A disgruntled look marred his sexy face as he silently watched her leave.

“It seems like my partner picked the wrong time to make his move,” Lucian observed as he grabbed her arm and led her to the crime scene. “What makes you say that?” she asked, curious as to his out take on it, more than anything else. “By the way your arm is trembling in mine. You know I’ve seen you behead vampires, cut out their hearts even, and you never once batted an eyelash. Sloan unnerves you.” “Very perceptive, Lucian, but there are more important things we need to be doing right now.” “Ah, the famous brush off,” he laughed. “That’s fine. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of another chances to interrupt you and Sloan. Let’s get to business. Everything awaits your touch.” Some of the unit members were there with A-K 47’s ready and alert. Sara stopped at the covered body. Lucian stood beside her, as Sloan quietly observed from a couple of inches away. She bent and pulled back the sheet. Death’s black shadowy aura covered the body like the sheet she had just pulled back. Sahara looked at the girl lying so peacefully. Her gray lifeless eyes stared to the heavens blindly. She felt her supernatural half stir inside, a psychic trait she had inherited from her mother. Sahara’s psychic soul delved into the dead body, searching for the last moments of the girl’s life. Sahara closed her eyes as she was suddenly pulled deep into a white, flashing light. Marsha stumbled on her heels as she walked quickly through the dark streets of

Miami. What the fuck possessed her to go out tonight of all nights? It was a stupid thing to do, but then she hadn’t expected her boyfriend to dump her after a two-month relationship. Shit, what the hell did I ever see in that creep anyway? Her heel snapped off, and she stumbled to the ground. “Is there anyway, I can help you kitty-cat?” Marsha jerked and turned around, alarmed to see a man dressed to impress in front of her. Paranormal. The word flitted through her consciousness and sent a streak of fear through her. Not too many people walked the streets at night for a purpose, and god damn it she wasn’t supposed to be here. Michael was supposed to be taking her home; instead, he broke it off with an “I don’t want to see you anymore” and simply left. “No thank you,” she whispered quickly as she toed off both of her heels, thinking if she had to run, it would be better with no shoes. The demon’s eyes flashed as he caught the sign and moved closer. Only inches separated them now, and Marsha knew she had no hope in running from the demon that glared at her with red eyes. Marsha winced as he brought his hand up to trace her cheek with a long talon. She silently battled the fear and repulsion his touch gave her, and was slightly relieved when he removed his hand. Her eyes remained riveted to the Celtic green symbol tattoo glowing on his skin. “Are you sure?” he sneered. “I’m positive.” “Then perhaps, you can help me with something.” Marsha trembled with fear. Her mouth opened and asked the question anyway, even as her mind battled in rebellion. “What is it that you need?”

He licked his lips and moved forward. “Some sex and a long tasty drink.” Paralyzed with fear and a compulsion from the evil vampire, Marsha couldn’t physically scream, but that didn’t stop her mind from silently yelling her last cries as the vampire ripped off her clothes, entered her, and at the same time, plunged his teeth into her neck. Sahara felt Sloan’s touch on her arm using that to anchor herself back on normal ground. Sadness mixed with a touch of hyper-velocity threatened her emotions as she tried to steady herself by taking deep breaths. Trying to control the adrenaline she always experienced when she soul touched was the hardest part. It was never truly a touching of the soul, more like a reliving of the victim’s last moments of life. She had never tried it on people that still lived for fear she would unbalance something. She concentrated on death and tried to help those that died unjustly by hunting down their murderers. She rose from her position and turned to him suddenly wary and tired. “You okay?” Sloan asked. “I’m fine,” she lied, turning from him. He grabbed her arm, forcing her to face him. “When will you stop doing it?” “When will I stop doing what?” “Lying. When will you start being honest with me, and accept that what is between us is growing stronger?” She pulled her arm from him. “I’m not dealing with this right now, Sloan. I have a report to write up.” “This isn’t over, Sahara. We will deal with this first, but then you will tell me everything.”

“His arrogance knows no bounds,” Lucian laughed, pulling her to his side. He had a way of calming a situation, but she knew the second in command was just as deadly as Sloan if not more. Sahara laid her hand on Lucian’s arm as Sloan’s eyes flashed retribution. She laughed loudly at the look on his face as she tried to hide her nervousness. “Let’s head back to the office. Selena can take over.” At the mention of the dark-haired Latin beauty, Lucian snapped his gaze to Selena and Sahara could swear his eyes glowed. Whether Sloan noticed Lucian’s eyes change color, Sahara didn’t know, but she removed her hand quickly walking back to the car, suddenly spooked by the glowing eyes.

Chapter 6
Sahara stepped into the office with a sense of foreboding and dread. It was something she couldn’t quite put her finger on, but her senses screamed at her to heed the psychic warning. She knew instinctively it had nothing to do with Sloan or Lucian. She took the seat across from Sloan, as Lucian took the next to her. “Someone want to tell me why half of Sloan’s desk is on the floor?” Lucian laughingly asked, while pretending to study the mess intently. Sloan smirked at his question. “Why don’t you ask Sahara?” Tense and emotionally stressed, Sahara sarcastically replied, “Sloan tongued me until I came. Is that what you both wanted me to say?” “At least she’s finally admitting something happened,” Sloan observed, but then quickly changed the subject. “Tell me what you saw, Sahara.” The crime scene, now we get down to business, she thought. She needed to see her Uncle Dominic. She didn’t believe in coincidences. The return of this particular vampire meant something. Sahara closed her eyes and took a deep breath in hopes of relieving some of her tension before starting. “Marsha was dumped by her boyfriend that night. It’s the reason why she was caught by the killer walking alone. The vampire used a physical psychic compulsion on her so she wouldn’t run away. She knew she was going to die. It was just

as well, she never had a chance,” she whispered. Too many memories threatened to surface once more. The killer has lived too many years murdering innocents. She could almost taste her vengeance coming. “Did he reveal his name to the victim?” “No, he didn’t. You’re not dealing with a mere vamp here. This one is a powerful one, but I didn’t learn much more than we already knew.” Sahara waited to see if Sloan would question her further. “You’re hiding something,” Sloan stated. “What are you hiding?” He crossed his arms and waited for her response. “I agree,” Lucian interjected before Sahara could reply. “There’s something you’re keeping from us.” “You’re right,” she replied, directing her gaze to Sloan’s. She wasn’t going to hide all of it from him any longer. Sahara would give him what he needed, but she wanted a promise in return. “I will give you the information you need, but I will have a promise from you first.” Sloan’s mouth tensed in an angry line, but Sahara continued, “You promise me, both of you right here, right now, that the vampire is mine to kill.” ***** Fuck! He should spank her pretty ass for putting him on the spot like this. If Lucian weren’t in the room with him, he would have done it. Sloan didn’t deal well with ultimatums, even ones issued by the woman he had every intention on fucking. He had known she was hiding something to begin with, but thought in time she would tell him. Now it seemed he had no choice in playing the dirty little deception game she chose.

“The vampire is yours to kill, but you will hunt with a member of the team," Sloan grunted. Sahara smirked at his announcement, while disbelief marred Lucian’s face. “Agreed,” Sahara conceded. “You’re looking for a vampire with a Celtic symbol on the back of his right hand.” “Did you know this from the beginning?” “Yes.” Sloan pinched his eyes shut in frustration. “Why keep this from us then?” “This isn’t like you,” Lucian chimed in. “Guys, I’m asking for a little time here. I will tell you everything soon. I need to see my Uncle Dominic.” Sahara stood from her chair, overwhelmed by the male testosterone in the room. “I will call you when I’m on my way back.” “Sahara, we will finish this when you get back.” With a quick nod, she exited his office in a rush. “What are you doing giving into her wishes?” Lucian asked. “Fuck, she’s playing a goddamn dangerous game here. She has not said it, but you know as well as I do this vampire is connected to her personally.” Sloan tilted his gaze from the doorway, pinning his eyes on Lucian. “Get me everything you have on her.” “I’m on it,” Lucian replied, rising to his feet. “Lucian?” “Yeah?” “From the day she was born to what she was doing yesterday.” “I understand,” Lucian nodded. “I’ll call you when I have it.” Lucian left, closing

the door behind him. Doing a routine background check on a team member was one thing. Doing a complete run-down was another. Sloan knew she’d be pissed, but she forced his hand on this one. The stakes were high and Sloan meant to protect her with his life.

Finding out her name had been easy. Not too many dark haired beauties worked in Miami as a hunter. Modern technology was such a wonder these days. If you had the right amount of money and a computer, you could get anything done even if you were a vampire. He had everything he needed to know about his darling daughter. Sahara Lee,. Maximum whispered her name to his newly turned minion named Steve, as he pushed with his mind for the human to enter her home. Sunlight was such a horrible obstacle for him. It forced him use dead walkers, a newly half-turned vampire who was solely dependent on the vampire who changed him. It had its handy side. Using a little bit of dark magic, he could possess the bodies temporarily, forcing them to do his bidding. Pleasure surged through him as the minion broke her lock and entered her home. He would have preferred to be there in her home, but there was still a pleasure in seeing everything through Steve’s eyes. Anger poured through him at the years lost. Katakana had purposely kept him away from the one thing he had always wanted, a child to continue his line. From the taste of her blood, Maximum knew she wasn’t vampire, but that didn’t mean she was

powerless. She had the strength of a vamp and was gifted with psychic senses. Did she know what she truly was or did Katakana keep that a secret from her? Should he let her live or drink all of her blood in hopes of walking in sunlight himself? There was also the sweet revenge of completion he wanted to taste when he went after Dominic. Oh yes, he knew the hunter had convinced Katakana in leaving with his daughter. Drinking Dominic’s blood appealed to him highly. It was just a question of when. His questions would be answered all in time. He positioned Steve behind the door of her bedroom and silently directed him to wait for her arrival. His purpose was, to find out how strong his daughter truly was. ***** Sahara entered her uncle’s home stressed with the need to have her questions answered. She hoped he had information that would help her. “Uncle Dominic?” she called out. “I’m in the kitchen.” The strong aromas had her mouth salivating for food. Sahara opened the door and found him stirring a pot over the stove. He turned with open arms and Sahara stepped into his embrace. Her mind and senses took comfort in his arms as the only father figure she had ever known. “I was wondering when my favorite fighter was going to stop by,” Dominic laughed, thrusting her from him to give her a once over. “There is something I need to discuss with you.” “Grab a seat. Let me get you some beef stew.” “I can eat later.”

“You will eat, after we will talk.” Sahara’s stomach chose that moment to rumble and Dominic just laughed. He brought two heaping plates. Sahara dug in to hers, knowing her uncle wouldn’t be sated until she put a dent into it. She pushed the plate back. “I’ve found the vampire with the Celtic symbol.” Dominic sighed. “I was afraid this would happen.” “What do you mean by that statement?” Dominic grabbed her hand and Sahara could feel him trembling. “There are some things I need to tell you.” “You can tell me anything.” “There are some things I should have told you about your mother, but I wanted to wait until the right time. It seems fate has pushed my hand on this,” Dominic said as he rose from his seat. “Follow me into my office.” Sahara stood, quickly following. He went to his file cabinets in search of something. She sat on his sofa and waited for him. Dominic walked over with files in his hand, laying them on the coffee table in front of him as he sat beside Sahara. “I have been tracking the vampire that killed your mother for years. He’s been wreaking havoc and destruction for a long time.” “First, a little background on where some of the monsters that plague us, now came from. Have you ever heard of the portal?” Perplexed and intrigued at the same time, Sahara shook her head no. “It all began when the world was thrown off course and knowledge began arriving to the humans that we co-existed with paranormals. For years it was not known that the world had existed
47

with vampires and werewolves, until a portal was opened. It served as a gateway to hell. The demons and witches poured into the world and unleashed their evil upon the humans. Some were killed, others possessed. It was about that time, the vamps and werewolves decided to come out of their hiding. The mayor and police had to move fast. All of the unsolved murder cases in the past years were reopened and given a second look. To the world’s horror, some of the evidence could now be connected to the paranormals.” Sahara was stunned. None of the hunters knew how the paranormals had ever arrived on earth. “Was the gateway used for the vampires and werewolves?” she asked. “No one knows for sure. Some say that they were always here with us. The only thing we know for sure is the portal was used for demons and witches until it was closed.” “Who closed it?” “An elite team of psychics and hunters were hired to close down the portal and try to bring justice to the paranormals that chose to commit crimes. The World Organization gave them a choice. Live among us peacefully or be put to death. They had superb powers and though some saw the choice unfair, it served to keep a leash on those that threatened rebellion.” “Were you part of this?” Dominic sighed. “God has chosen to grace us with abilities surpassing human expectation. I have always used my gift for the purpose of good. We are the chosen, and we must always be humble and heed to a higher power. That has always been my view, Sahara, and I’ve always tried to instill that in you.” “Sometimes I do ask myself, why me? But then I think about what you’ve taught

me and realize that there is a purpose in my life,” Sahara sighed warily, feeling tired all of a sudden. “About my mother…” “The vampire you are looking for is Maximum Forester.” Maximum Forester, the name made her blood tingle in fiery heat. Suddenly nervous, she tugged her hand from Dominic. He let her go and she walked to the window, confused at the odd feelings crawling through her. Her psyche tried to come up with a reason for the strange reactions. Why did it feel like her blood was still boiling at the sound of that name? “What do you have on him,” she asked as she struggled to calm the heat flowing inside of her. “Not much. He’s traveled all over the world, but never stays in one place long. The hunters have tried to take him down, but Maximum isn’t your ordinary vampire. He can travel between universes and has used that skill often for escape.” “Do you have anything on what the Celtic symbol means?” “The symbol belongs to the time of the Druids. It proves that Maximum may have been one of the first vampires that were ever created. The symbol connects itself to witchcraft, which leads me to believe Maximum dabbles in dark magic. He isn’t an ordinary vampire, and he does not belong in this realm. There was another portal opened long before the discovery of the last one. We sent a search team of hunters out upon learning of the first gate. We have not found proof of its existence.” Sahara shuddered, not in fear, but in the possibility of another portal. “How do I kill him?” “He will die...by the same way you have killed the others, severing his head from

his body.” Sahara acknowledged the information with a nod. This whole conversation spooked her. Even scarier were the physic feelings surging through her at the vampire’s name. Sahara flicked her gaze at the window once again. The sun still hovered at the horizon, but it would be going down soon. She needed to go home, shower and change before meeting Sloan. “Uncle, I need to get going,” she said at the same time she gave him a hug. “Be careful, Sahara. Use all of your talents and be wary. This vampire will not be an easy kill.” “I’ll be fine. I’ll call you later,” she replied, heading out through the door.
*****
Dominic walked over to the phone as his front door slammed shut. “Hello?” “She knows some of it,” Dominic stated, not wanting to chitchat. “I don’t like this half-truth telling. She is like my daughter. Sahara needs to be told the truth.” “Why, when it will only upset her? Let her go after Maximum and kill him.” Dominic felt the rage stirring deep within, but held it in check. “You know…we have been friends for many years. If something happens to Sahara because of you, I will kill you myself. If she doesn’t succeed the first time in murdering him, I will tell her everything,” Dominic whispered through clenched teeth as he disconnected the phone call. Lying to his niece may come with a deadly price, and if it did, he had no problem

“What do you have?” Sloan asked as Lucian placed several papers on his desk. “Sahara’s file.” “Give me the brief review.” “She didn’t necessarily join the team in hoping to rid the world of evil. She has a hidden agenda, my friend,” Lucian sighed, and then continued. “Sahara’s mother was murdered when she was ten. She was raised by an uncle. His name is Dominic Lee, the brother of her mother.” “That name sounds familiar.” “That’s because he used to be on Keith Mariano’s team of hunters, some twenty years ago. If you’re thinking coincidence, then don’t. Sahara’s family moved to the states when her mother’s father was murdered in Japan. The murderer was never caught.” “Why do you say she has a hidden motive?” “Before joining up here, Sahara was training under Dominic’s instruction. Two years of training and hunting down vampires. She was a one-woman hunter. Dominic always covered her tracks. Ask yourself, Sloan. Why would she join the team now, when she was used to going unaided? Something led her here, and you should find out what it is.” Sloan didn’t bother denying Lucian’s statement. Getting the truth out of her wasn’t going to be easy. “Dammit, Lucian,” Sloan yelled in frustration. “I knew she was keeping

something from me since the beginning. Is there anything else?” “Her mother raised her on her own. There is no father listed on the birth certificate.” “Not an unusual thing. What’s her mother’s name?” “Katakana Lee,” Lucian replied. “Give me everything you have on her and Dominic. This doesn’t smell right to me. She hid the description of the vampire from us, which means she’s connected to him somehow.” “I agree,” Lucian said. “I’ll get back to you as soon as the report comes in.” “Call me on my cell. I’m going to track our little hunter down and see what she’s doing.” “Careful,” Lucian laughed, then headed out. Sloan picked up the phone and dialed Sahara’s number. “You looking for me already?” she asked. He could hear the smirk in her voice. “Where are you?” “In my car, heading home to take a shower and change.” Erotic visions of her naked with water cascading down her skin played in his mind as his cock lengthened then rose like steel. He needed and wanted her so bad. “I’ll meet you there. We have things we need to discuss.” “Are you hard already, Sloan?” Sloan tensed, and realized psychically she already knew the answer to that question. “Fuck, Sahara! Ask me that question when I get there,” he stated through clenched teeth.

“Fine,” she laughed. Sloan disconnected the line and grabbed his gun. He was out the precinct in two minutes heading straight to her home.
*****
Sahara exited her car and walked up the stairs to her apartment. Apprehension rushed through her at the sight of her front door lock broken. It came together in one blinding rush. The foreboding she was feeling before was a warning for this. Sahara unleashed her Sai knives and kicked the door open. She relaxed slightly as her soul tingled with awareness then shimmered, and reached out to search her home. Her psyche probed, halting at her bedroom door in knowledge. In the blink of an eye, her core returned as Sahara silently contemplated her next move. Sloan’s here. Sahara felt him through every fiber of her being. She turned slightly towards him as he walked up the first two flights to her apartment at the same time keeping an eye at what was waiting for her in her bedroom. His eyes traveled the length of her as he unlocked his gun. “What’s going on?” he whispered in her ear. Warmth and need hit her like a fist to the stomach. He was so close to her, and for a second, Sahara let her mind relax as she leaned in, inhaling his smell of spicy male and warmth. She wanted to melt into him. Sahara snapped out of the hazy, sexual alluring daydream as he placed his hand around her waist and tugged her close to him. “Sahara, what’s going on?” he repeated.

She felt the heat crawl up in her face in embarrassment and shrugged it off just as quickly. “There’s someone hiding in the bedroom.” “What’s his position?” “Behind the bedroom door.” “How do you know?” “I felt him,” she replied. He looked at her with awe and respect. “You are one fascinating, woman.” “Save the compliments for later,” she whispered. “I’m going in.” “After me, darling.” “No! If this is the vampire I’m looking for, then you and Lucian already gave me your promise.” Sloan’s eyes narrowed, blazing in anger at her statement. Shit, she silently cursed as she realized she might have given away more in that little statement than she wanted to. “I will head in first. You will take up the rear. That is an order,” he replied through clenched teeth. She acknowledged him with tight nod as she followed behind him slowly. Seconds ticked by as they moved to her bedroom. Sahara knew whoever was behind her door had been sent by the vampire. It surprised her that Maximum would plot like this, instead of coming for her himself. Sloan entered the room quietly as he aimed his gun at the doorwhile at the same time giving her a silent nod to enter the room. Sahara moved forward, aiming her Sai knives high. Not wanting to give whoever was behind her door a chance to attack, she

kicked the door open and threw her knives at the intruder’s shoulders. A piercing scream released from the intruder’s lips as the knives stabbed through flesh pinning him to the wall behind him. Blood poured from the two wounds, but Sahara had no intention of removing her knives anytime soon. “Nice,” Sloan stated, nodding his head to the man whimpering at the wall. “Thanks.” Sahara walked over to him as red eyes flashed in anger, pinning her with their evil gaze. “Who sent you?” “You have proven to be a worthy relation, my dear.” Sahara’s psyche warmed, and just like that she knew she was talking to the vampire. Anger and awe poured in at the realization she wasn’t dealing with an ordinary vamp. “Hiding behind bodies, Maximum? Is that your MO now?” Eyes flashed brighter as Sahara felt anger then admiration pour through him, and then realization dawned. Being this close to him, she could feel his emotions. The only other person that has happened with was Sloan, and though she feared feeling such deep thoughts with him, at least she could say she was attracted to Sloan and wanted him with an ultra-hot passion. Why could she feel Maximum emotions? There had to be a reason for this. Don’t freak out, Sahara. You hate this man more than anything in this world. Remember there’s a reason behind everything. Sloan moved beside her, instinctively taking her hand in his and calming her with his presence.

“You have a choice to make, my dear,” Maximum sneered. “Rule by my side or die.” Sahara removed her hand slowly from Sloan’s and walked to the vampire. Standing inches apart and glaring straight to his eyes, she whispered, “I would die a slow death before I ever rule by your side,” she sneered. “Then you will die, just like your mother.” Sloan cursed violently as Sahara felt herself teetering on the very edge of a rage so violent, if he were standing before her she would have probably attacked without thinking. Doing something like that would serve as a death warrant to her. “Fuck you, you filthy fucking vampire! It is you who will die,” she whispered as she gripped the edges of her knives, forcefully removed them slowly from the human’s body, all the while hoping Maximum felt every ounce of pain. The human screamed loudly, then passed out as she felt the vampire’s soul fly through the air and out of her home. “Lucian, I need a fucking clean-up crew at Sahara’s home now,” Sloan barked into the phone, never once taking his eyes from Sahara. His hands flew to the titanium handcuffs clasped on his belt. He disconnected the set and advanced. Sahara swallowed tightly at the angry stare he threw her way as she briefly wondered why he would handcuff an unconscious human that no longer existed in his body. To her shock and ultimate horror, Sloan did something she thought he would never do to her. He arrested her.

Sloan grabbed the whiskey bottle and poured himself a drink, aggravated at being pushed so far. What the fuck was she thinking, keeping something like this from him? Didn’t she realize that he would have backed her up one hundred percent? He didn’t just lust after her. If that were the case, he would have made his move a long time ago. He wanted her with a fiery passion that settled in his gut, threatening to consume him every time she was near. He glanced at his bedroom, sensing the little hellion was pacing back and forth in anger and frustration. He could feel the sensations pouring from her in waves as they collided with his own feelings. Sloan drank the whiskey in one shot, the burning liquid rushing down to this throat just as his cell phone rang. “Sloan.” “Everything has been taken care of.” Sloan knew Lucian meant the disposal of the body. Poor bastard. This fucking Maximum character did a huge number on this one. He did not think he had ever seen a vampire possess someone before, but then this whole world had flown to hell in a hand basket. “There’s something I need to speak with you about.” “What do you have for me?” Sloan asked. “A file two inches deep on Katakana and Dominic. Someone went through a lot of

trouble in making sure this was hidden well.” “Did you find out who did it?” “Still working on that.” “Bring the files over tomorrow.” “You sure?” “Yes, first thing tomorrow. I need to take care of Sahara and see how far she’s intending on taking her game of retribution.” “Don’t be hard on her. She hasn’t had an easy life.” “Don’t you think I don’t know that, Lucian? God damn, I’ve been in love with her for years.” “The big mighty boss has finally fallen. Wait till I tell the team,” Lucian laughed. “See you in the morning.” “Bye,” Sloan replied, pouring himself another shot of whiskey. He was going to need all the energy he could muster when he confronted Sahara.
*****
Sahara burned with frustration as she paced silently in his bedroom. She still could not believe he had slapped cuffs on her. Lucian had arrived at her home, quickly taking over the scene as Sloan hauled her into his car and drove them to his home without speaking one word. She sat down on the king size bed, suddenly bone weary tired. Half of her life had been spent in training to fight and learning how to control her psychic powers. She had

never known what it felt like to not worry about someone lurking around a corner, or simply to be happy. For the first time in her life, Sahara wished she could know what true joy felt like. A knock on the door had her jumping up. Sloan entered looking just as weary as she felt. He placed a bag of on the floor by the bed. “I brought you some clothes.” Sahara ignored the statement. “I can not believe you slapped the cuffs on me,” Sahara bit out through clenched teeth, disbelief still etched into her voice. “God damm it! Sahara, you broke every fucking law in the book.” Sahara scoffed. “I did no such thing.” Sloan walked over, the keys to the cuffs in his hand. Sahara offered her wrists as Sloan inserted the key and opened the lock. She shrugged the cuffs off just as he grabbed her wrists and rubbed her skin. “You didn’t tell me you knew Maximum. You deliberately withheld evidence from us. You know what bothers me the most, Sahara?” A long line of goose bumps popped out on her arms, making her shiver at the feel of his calloused fingers against her skin. Sahara shook her head no, mesmerized by the swirling gray darkening his eyes. “What bothered me the most is that you did not trust me enough to tell me!” Sahara heard the anger in his voice at her betrayal, but the most potent emotions were the shock and disbelief flowing through him. The last person in the world she wanted to hurt was him. Over the years he had become special to her, and Sahara didn’t know how to deal with it. She realized he deserved the truth as she summoned the courage to tell him. She fidgeted under his penetrating glare and swallowed the lump in

her dry throat. “There’s something I should have told you before joining the force.” “About Maximum?” “Yes,” she whispered. “I…” “I already know you know him, Sahara,” he interrupted. “I want to start from the beginning, Sloan. You deserve the truth. I’m sorry I haven’t been straightforward with you,” she whispered as she tugged his hand, leading him to the bed. They both sat down and Sahara clasped his hand tighter, hoping his strength would give her courage. “You know I have never been afraid of anything in my life. As a child, my mother taught me that monsters and demons existed, but until that fateful night I had never actually seen one. I had brought a kitten home that night, and with a child’s enthusiasm at finding something, I had forgotten to lock the door. Minutes later, the monsters were in our home. My mother hid me in the closet and made me promise that not to move,” she whispered, letting the tears fall. Sahara couldn’t remember the last time she had actually cried. She was sure it had been years, it felt oddly good to be doing it after so long. Sloan gathered her into his lap and stroked her back, offering her some comfort. “Honey, it wasn’t your fault,” he breathed into her ear. “That’s where you’re wrong,” she sniffed. “It was my fault. The only thing that keeps playing in my mind is what if I had closed the door that night? She would not be dead right now. I couldn’t stand the screams that were coming out of her mouth. I snuck out of the closet and peaked through the door. Maximum had his teeth lodged into mom’s throat, all I could do was stare, as her soul drifted way. I made her one final promise that

night. That she did not die in vain, Sloan. I intend to kill Maximum.” Sahara felt Sloan’s strong hand grip her chin as he whispered, “You are not alone, honey. We will do this together.” Sahara sensed his need to offer comfort. Hidden barely below was his raw sexual power. Her clit throbbed as she felt his shaft harden underneath her. She needed to be with him so bad, but only after she confessed everything. If he still wanted her, that is. “There’s more,” she said, halting Sloan’s descent to her lips by placing her hands on his chest. “My uncle Dominic and Keith started the VCPTF. They were the ones that recommended I join.” His anger at that statement poured through her as Sahara reeled her senses then reached out, stroking him with a calming heat. “Keith assigning you to the team, I could almost understand from a professional point of view, but your fucking uncle has some explaining to do,” he growled. Her eyes widened in shock. “Sloan, my uncle knew my need for vengeance. He trained me because I asked him to. He would never harm me intentionally.” “Sahara, there must have been a reason they put you on our team, other than the need for vengeance. We just have to figure out what that reason is.” His words had an eerie truth to them. “Maybe I should go pay my uncle a visit.” “It can wait. There are things we need to discuss that are more important,” Sloan whispered as he licked the outer shell of her ear. “Like what?” she moaned at the feel of his heated tongue. “This thing between us, God, Sahara, you drive me insane with need. I feel you inside of me constantly,” he whispered.

Sahara yelped as he grabbed her waist and laid her on the bed. He towered over her as he settled between the juncture of her thighs. She felt the beast in him rise, and she relished giving control over to him. This was what she needed, and perhaps by giving him power, she could find some joy.

Chapter 9
“I want you, Sloan. Please make love to me. Help me feel good just this once,” she whimpered as she opened her legs wider and rubbed her pussy on his hard cock. Sloan growled and nipped at her ear. He pulled back and stood. Untying her boots, he pulled them off with ease. He traveled to the waist of her pants, slowly pulled them from her body. Sahara felt his desire multiply, as his breath hitched at the sight of her crotch less red panties. “That is where your wrong, amore. I will make you feel more than good every time,” he murmured. Sahara watched, dazed with arousal, as Sloan traced the edge of her underwear. Her pussy was having spasms, releasing more of its juices at the feel of his calloused fingers playing on her skin. Sloan gripped the edge of her panty; with a strength matching the desire between them he ripped them from her body. Sahara groaned, arching her body with the force of his strength. He paused, kneeling down before her, savoring the sight of her hairless mound. Sloan in haled her intoxicating aroma deeply, his shaft hardening to the point of pain. He placed his hands under her ass, lifting her closer to his mouth as he positioned her legs on his shoulders. “Watch me while I lick your tasty cunt.” Sahara reached out, gripping his hair fiercely as he swiped her pussy lips and

moaned at the taste of her. He devoured her, plunging his entire face into her heat and swiping his tongue over her clit. He could feel her desire to come as he took her bundle of nerves and sucked hard. Sahara whimpered, screaming as her body arched off of the bed and her pussy flooded his mouth with her cream. Sloan licked, sucked, and ate every drop she had to give him. The fact that she came so easily was not lost on him. It only served to connect them even deeper to lust and yearning. Sloan rose, positioning the head of his shaft at the entrance of her pussy, bathing the head in her juices. “Fuck me,” she whispered. Sloan trembled with desire, holding back the need to fuck her like an animal. She meant more to him than anything, he wasn’t going to ruin that by rutting on her. He pushed in slowly as her cunt opened, enveloping him in heat and wet fire. The waves of desire served to open up further the psychic link between them. Sloan groaned as he felt what she felt, an inferno gripping them in crazed lust. He gave her more of his cock, slowly entering her, savoring everything as his tightened his on her thighs. She encircled his waist with her legs, pushing herself on his cock. Sloan gripped her thighs, stilling her for a moment, savoring everything about their joining. He wanted to mark her with his teeth and cock, so that there would be no doubt in both of their minds that she was completely his. Her eyes widened as she felt the primitive thoughts he projected to her. Sloan dipped his head, taking Sahara’s lips in a fierce kiss, thrusting into her, breaking through her maiden shield. She cried out into his mouth and he stroked her tongue while reaching under to pluck her tight nipple. Seconds flew by as Sloan remained still in hopes she would get used to having his shaft inside of

her. Her cream flowed down his cock, coating his throbbing length as he slowly began to push in and out of her. Sloan pushed up slightly, wanting to see her eyes. Her half hooded, rapture filled gaze pierced his heart; filling him with a love he’d never known. Sloan shafted her deeply, enjoying the way her cunt closed, and then tightening on his cock. His hand moved to her clit, stroking and petting with every surge into her pussy. He bent taking her enticing neck into his mouth, fucking her as he bit tightly then sucked on her skin, in hopes of marking her in someway. He lifted his head, to his utter delight the flesh was a reddish tinge. The tingling of orgasm began at the base of his spine and as Sloan realized he wasn’t going to last any longer, Sahara’s cunt fisted him in orgasmic rapture, pulling the seed from his body. Her nails bit into his forearms as she quivered and whimpered in euphoria. His chest moved rapidly, as his cock spilled every drop of his seed into her heated inferno. Sloan eased himself out of her, rolling over to the side, taking her with him. His eyes closed in wonder. She was amazing and strong in every way and he wasn’t planning on letting her go any time soon.
The connection she had with him was even stronger now. Sahara felt pleasure surge through with him at their bond. It was almost as if their joining had been a marriage-like union. It should have scared her, but Sahara was through being afraid of

their unique tie. A higher power had given them this gift for a reason, and Sahara was intent on enjoying it for as long as the lasted together. “No doubts?” he asked. “Nothing but pleasure,” Sahara replied as she stroked his pierced nipples. “Then why are you questioning how long we would last?” Sahara gasped as she lifted herself off of him, eyeing him with a wary look. She still needed to get used to him reading her. Her heart pounded as she tried to tell him what she was feeling inside. “I was just wondering how…” Sloan grabbed her arms, pushing her up further to him. “Now that we’ve done this Sahara, I have no intention of ever letting you go.” She sighed silently at his words as she continued toying with the metal barb on his chest. She felt happiness and gratification, knowing that she and Sloan were looking at a forever. Sahara reached down and, licking at his nipples, sucked the tip between her teeth. Excitement raced between their connections. Sahara shivered in lust, and then traveled below, laving his skin with her tongue along the way. His hands gripped her hair tightly, sending tingling shards of delight through her. She reached her destination, holding the base of his cock in her hand. “Sahara, bring that little pretty cunt over here.” Sahara threw him a perplexed look. She wanted to taste him badly. Sloan quickly took charge as he positioned her legs at the side of his face.

“This is called sixty-nine, honey. Sahara put your lips on my dick. Let me feel that hot little tongue while I eat your tasty cunt.” The dirty little words sent her pussy into spasms, only added to her yearning for him. Sahara licked the head of his shaft, tasting and loving his salty essence. Sloan growled and pushed his dick in further. Sahara relished his dominance as she let him control the pace and fuck her mouth. She palmed his heavy sack, tightening her hand around his balls and rolling them. They tightened in her hand drawing extremely close to the base of his cock. Sahara realized he was going to come into her mouth. Sloan sucked pussy with a zealous hunger that caught Sahara’s breath. She could feel his enjoyment in performing orally for her. He nibbled on her clit lightly, stirring the beginning of an orgasm in the pit of her stomach. He took her tiny bundle of energy between his lips as he sucked like a man starved. Sahara moaned around his shaft as she came in a flood. “Honey, pull away now if you don’t want me coming into your mouth.” Her response was to suck him even harder. He plunged his shaft to the back of her throat and Sahara fought a momentary gag reflex. “Relax your throat, honey. Open up for me,” he whispered. Sahara loosened her tense throat just as Sloan screamed; spilling his seed down the back of her throat. Sahara swallowed every shot of cum as she licked his shaft to make sure she cleaned every drop. Sloan swung her around, draping her over his body. Sahara laid her head on his chest; clinging to his sweat slick skin and relishing the love she could feel pouring through their link. She instinctively returned it to him, wanting Sloan to know the depth

Maximum hovered over the window, darkness shielding his form. He had purposely blocked his presence from his daughter. She was too enraptured to sense anything anyway, he realized. The sight of her fucking the human filled him with disgust. Maximum held back the need to scan the human’s mind. To do that, would unveil his form to his daughter, and he didn’t want to do that. Not yet anyway. Instead he flew to the only person he could retaliate on for now.

A loud knock at his door jilted him from his sleep. Sloan pulled his pants on quickly, grabbing his loaded Glock and taking it with him. He threw a glance at Sahara, then at the clock on his bedside table. Eight in the morning and she was still sleeping deeply. The white blanket covered her from the waist down, and he had a perfect view of her exposed breasts. His shaft stirred, then rose at the sight. He silently cursed whoever was disturbing him at this hour in the morning, suddenly remembered Lucian planned on stopping by. Sloan made his way downstairs, pushing his gun behind the waistband of his pants and threw the door open. “Weren’t you supposed to call,” he asked Lucian. “Yes I was,” he smirked, “but then that would mean I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of disturbing you and Sahara.” Sloan moved aside, allowing Lucian to enter. The hunter was probably the closest thing he had to a brother, which was the only reason why he tolerated his barbs. If it had been anyone else, he would have probably beaten the shit out of them already. Sloan followed Lucian as he made his way to the living room, laying the files he carried on the coffee table. They both sat as Sloan asked, “What do you have?” No one noticed the clothed, black figure hiding in the hallway. Sahara did something she never thought she’d do. She purposely blocked her presence from Sloan.

“Files that were purposely hidden by Dominic himself.” It didn’t surprise Sloan that Dominic was hiding something. He was suspicious about the uncle who portrayed the perfect father figure since the beginning. “What do you have?” “Katakana came from Japan. She moved out here along with Dominic after their father was mysteriously murdered,” Lucian said. “A few months later, Katakana went to a doctor because she felt ill. The tests revealed she was pregnant. Months later, Sahara was born. No father was ever listed on the birth certificate. I did some further investigating. Katakana was seeing someone in Japan. No one has been able to come up with his name, but I suspect him of fathering Sahara.” “Why would Dominic hide the files?” “That is something I would love to find out myself,” Lucian replied. “Do you think it has anything to do with who fathered Sahara?” “That’s exactly what I think. Dominic went through a lot of trouble on making sure no one ever discovered the files. Keeping people from knowing who Sahara’s father was is the only angle I can think of.” “What did you find on Dominic?” “A rather complex man if you ask me. Smart, an expert on technologies systems, and the last known practitioner of the ancient ninja art. As you know, he and Keith convinced Sahara to join the hunters. Sahara’s purpose is to find her mother’s killer. Both Keith and Dominic are hiding something,” Lucian exclaimed. “If it wasn’t for my multitalented skills, no one would have ever found these files. We need to find out what’s going on.”

Sloan grimaced, anxiety flowing through him. There was one thing left for him to do. He needed to pay Sahara’s uncle a visit.
*****
Sahara grabbed the keys from his nightstand and climbed onto the second story window ledge as she psychically ensured Sloan didn’t realize her departure until too late. She had never tried blocking him out before, and was surprisingly pleased at the ability to do so. She was angry and still could not believe that Sloan had her investigated along with her family. She knew he was probably forced into doing it when she had purposely eluded him with her evidence on Maximum, but that excuse did nothing to lessen her frustration. All she had asked was for a little bit of time and trust. She made her way to his car, wondering for a second on how angry he might be for taking it. She put the key in the ignition and started the car, figuring if Sloan was angry, she could deal with his wrath later. Sahara drove silently, perplexed and confused as to why her uncle would go to such lengths on hiding the history of their family. They were hunters who obeyed the law religiously. To do so otherwise, would mean everything her uncle had taught her was a lie. Sloan was right. Dominic knew something, and Sahara needed to figure out what that was before it was too late. Her uncle’s home came to view as Sahara tightened her hands on the steering wheel in nervousness. Something was wrong. An eerie premonition ran through her as Sahara felt it bone deep, and with it came the knowledge that it had everything to do with

Dominic. Sahara released her mental block, hoping Sloan was already searching for her. He didn’t disappoint. Where are you? She jumped at the sound of his voice in her head. Sahara thought he could only feel her, but apparently their bonding had come with advantages or disadvantages. She didn’t know which yet. I’m at my uncle’s home. Why did you leave? Sahara sent him a vision of her hiding in the hallway, hearing their conversation. You’re pissed. You’re fucking right I am, Sloan. Investigating me behind my back? You gave me no choice, Sahara. You could have trusted me. The same way you trusted me? Sahara seethed; silently acknowledging he was right as she exited his vehicle. Where are you? She could hear the anger in his voice now, and saw his thoughts on how he would punish her for leaving. Sahara’s juices flowed as the erotic scene of her kneeling with her hands handcuffed behind her back, enveloping his shaft played out in her head. She thrust the image with reluctant force back at him, feeling his laughter mixed with desire. I’m at Dominic’s house. His humor vanished in seconds. Anger and anxiousness coursed through his veins as she felt the feelings wash over her like they were her own. Wait for me. I don’t think so. Meet me here.

Fuck, Sahara. Be careful! Aren’t I always? Lucian and I are heading out now. Shush! I’m working. Sahara smirked as she felt his annoyance at the reprimand. She walked to her uncle’s door, not surprised at finding it unlocked. Sahara unsheathed her knives at the same time she kicked the door open. She walked straight to the kitchen, searching for any sign of Dominic…nothing there. Sahara turned and silently went to the living room, surprised to see her uncle sitting on the sofa with a dazed look on his face. “Uncle Dominic?” Sahara called out, sheathing her knives and sitting next to him. She placed her hand on his shoulder, slightly shaking him. Dominic turned his head, facing her and Sahara saw the desolation in his gaze. “What’s going on?” she asked. “There are some things about the death of your mother. What I need to say now, should have been said long ago.” “Go on,” she whispered as she immediately sensed his words were bound to change her life forever. “Your mother’s death was an elaborate set-up meant to look like it was done just for the kill, when in fact the vampire was searching for something so valuable that was purposely kept hidden by your mother and me,” Dominic exclaimed as he grabbed Sahara’s hand. “We were still living in Japan, when my sister fell in love at the age of eighteen to a frightening man. She loved him as deeply as someone could love at such a tender age. It was someone she had only been seeing for several months, strangely only at nights.”

Sahara’s stomach dipped at the implications of the last sentence. Her mind burned as her soul shimmered slightly. “The meeting between my father and this man was set. Father, Katakana and I were seated at the table. When he rang the bell, I got up and answered the door. We have always had a touch of paranormal in the blood of our family, but Katakana’s power at that age was still fragile and developing. Mine on the other hand was at full strength and as soon as I opened that door, I was thrown back with the evil power glowing from him. I knew immediately what he was, and realized he could not come in without an invitation,” Dominic whispered as he tightened her hand. “I closed the door and let father know that Katakana had fallen in love with a vampire.” “No, Uncle…please…no,” she cried as she attempted to rise from her seat. Dominic pulled her arm, holding her still. “Find your inner strength, my dear. You will hear what needs to be said.” Sahara closed her eyes against the turbulence of emotions threatening to take her down. It was too much to handle at one time. She struggled with the need to run from him. To listen to what he was saying meant to acknowledge the truth, yet she had never hidden from anything in her life. She felt when Sloan and Lucian enter the living room. Sloan knelt besides her, enfolding her hand in his as he sensed her turmoil and projected his strength into her. “I take it these gentlemen are with you?” “Yes they are.” “Do you allow them to hear what needs to be said?” Sahara stared into Lucian’s hazel eyes and saw the love he felt for her shining through.

“Yes, they can both stay.” Sahara forced herself to hear the words that would change her life forever. “Your mother did not believe the man she had fallen in love with was a vampire. Our father had stepped out one night for a meeting, or so he thought. It was all a hoax, meant to capture father. The following morning Katakana and I noticed father never arrived home. We went looking for him and found him in his office, drained of his blood. She knew then what we were saying all along was the truth.” Sahara closed her eyes as she gathered her strength, waiting for the rest. “There’s more,” she whispered. Dominic turned partially, facing her fully now. He placed his hands on her shoulders. Sahara leaned into him slightly, staring into his desolate gray eyes. She felt his sadness at having to relive the horrors of the past. “You do not have to go on, Uncle.” If she could save him some pain, then perhaps she didn’t really need to hear all of it. “No, this must be done,” he replied before continuing. “We moved from Japan making our way to the US, where the laws were still tough against paranormals, but fair. As you know, our family possesses strong psychic skills, while the humans were still getting used to the idea of any paranormals existing, psychics were still sought out for help against the creatures that had escaped from their dimension and entered our world. Some of the humans began helping us rid the world of demons. We were known as hunters.” “Two months later, I noticed your mom becoming ill each morning. I had some suspicions, but didn’t say anything to her until tests revealed the source of her illness,”

Dominic whispered. “Katakana was pregnant.” Sahara closed her eyes as her body trembled in horror and her soul jumped with fear, realization dawning on her. Sloan gripped her hand tightly, merging his mind with hers. “He’s my father,” she whispered. “No! Not your father. A surrogate he may be, but he does not deserve to be called your father.” “Why tell me now?” “It is not something I wanted to do ever, but the time has come to avenge your mother’s death. Maximum paid me a visit last night. Keith Mariano is dead.” “Fuck!” Both Sloan and Lucian were cursing up a storm while Sahara sat in a daze. “It is Maximum’s twisted idea of revenge. He could not get to me, so he got to the one other person that knew who fathered you,” Dominic continued. “You will find Keith’s body in the backyard of my home. Keith didn’t scream one bit. I glimpsed a slight understanding in his eyes while Maximum drained him of blood in front of me. I could do nothing but watch. Maximum wants me dead. I will live to help you in anyway that I can. Keith knows that is the reason why I did not come to his aid.” Sahara swallowed past the ball of tears in her throat. “I’m sorry, Uncle.” “Don’t be. We are hunters. We do not live forever, and sometimes some of us have to die for the cause.” “Maximum has tasted my blood and let me live,” Sahara acknowledged. “Then my worse fears are confirmed,” he sighed warily. “If he didn’t know who you were before he tasted your blood, he does now and he will be coming after you.”

“This changes nothing,” Sahara whispered. “The news you gave me served its purpose. He will die for making our family suffer!” “Sahara, you must be careful. This vampire is not your normal type. He has extraordinary powers and can travel between the worlds. He will be targeting you to take your place by his side. Guard yourself with great care. You have met your mate, and he will protect you with his life,” Dominic replied, nodding his head to Sloan. “You knew I was to have a mate?” Sahara asked. “My dear Sahara, we are all fated to love someone so deep that a psychic connection is bound to happen. It is the way of our family, and perhaps the world. One will never know until they have experienced a bond so deep that it becomes unbreakable. You have that with Sloan. Cherish it. It never comes again.” “Did mom experience that with…?” Sahara shuddered deeply. She couldn’t bring herself to say his name. “No! What your mom experienced was an infatuation that unfortunately ended with death. The only good thing to come out of that was you,” Dominic replied. “You are, or will, never be alone in this.” Sahara felt his soul burn through hers, portraying the love he felt for her like a daughter. “I love you, Uncle. This changes nothing,” she repeated, perhaps more to convince herself than anything else.

Chapter 11
Sahara knelt down beside the blanket-covered body. A few team members stood back waiting to clean up the mess. It was a term they used when dealing with paranormals deaths and the undead that were recently turned. The bodies had to be burned, ensuring no vicious vampires were ever made. She pulled back the sheet staring into the eyes of one of her dear friends. She had known Keith for most of her life, and knew him to be a fair and kind man. He did not deserve to die this way. Sahara had to find Maximum before it was too late. “I want you to know that I agree with you back there,” Sloan said, kneeling down beside her. Sahara could sense the tight hold he had on his emotions. The death of Keith would be avenged by both of them. “What do you mean?” “This changes nothing. I do not know if I ever said it, darling, but I’m going to say it now. I love you. I always have, and the information we just found out does not change that.” Her eyes filled with tears. To know a love so deep and resilient was still new to her, but she cherished it with all of her heart. “I don’t think I’ve ever said this to anyone, but life has a way of being too short when you find that special someone. I love you too, Sloan. I think I’ve felt that way since the beginning.” Sloan reached out, grabbing her hand and stroking her skin in comfort. “We will

get through this. Are you ready?” “I’m ready,” she sniffed. It was something she never thought to be doing to someone she had known, but Sahara felt her soul shimmer in readiness, then plunge into Keith’s body. “You’re not who I was really looking for, but you will do. I know you have hunted my kind for ages, but you helped Dominic turn Sahara against me. For that you will pay alone,” Maximum seethed as he grabbed Keith Mariano’s body and traveled with him beneath universes, before ending up in front of Dominic’s home. “I expected you to come. Sahara is destined to kill you. Your time has come, Maximum. If my death can push that, then I welcome it with open arms,” Keith whispered as he glanced at Dominic’s home. “Prepare to die, hunter!” Keith was at peace with himself. He knew it was his time to die, but nothing prepared him for the pain that shot through his body as Maximum pierced his neck. He screamed in agony as the vampire made sure he felt every pull of blood. His chest felt tight, and it became harder to breathe. Maximum had purposely placed Keith in front of his window, giving a worried looking Dominic a gruesome view of his murder. Keith used all of his remaining strength to silently portray to Dominic that Maximum’s time will come. He closed his eyes as he took his took final breath. Sahara let her tears fall as Sloan pulled her back from beyond. His grim looking face silently said that he felt what she saw. Keith’s death was a gruesome one. The fucking vampire made sure he felt every single pain having reduced Keith to screams. Sloan placed a tender kiss on her lips. “Don’t cry, babe. His death will not go

unpunished. Did you get a glimpse of where Maximum was headed?” “I got nothing. All he did was torture him. Keith was at peace with dying for a cause, but he did not have to die so viciously. He killed him right in front of Dominic’s home. He’s playing a game with us, Sloan. He is not going to stop killing each and every person I know. He wants me. Maybe it’s time I face him.” “You will not do this alone.” “He’s right. We will be there for you,” Lucian chimed in. “There’s something I should have told you both. When Maximum possessed the human who hid in my apartment, I could sense the vampire’s thoughts. Maybe it’s our blood connection,” she bit out in disgust. “I can try to contact him tonight.” “It sounds like a plan. Let’s get the team in. Have them meet at my home at eight, Lucian.”
***** Sahara paced the room, desperately worried. It had been two hours since the sun went down. She had tried to reach her uncle, but he was not answering his phone. Dominic had refused to go with her, claiming he needed to do more research on Maximum’s kind. She knew it had been a mistake not to force him to go. Now her psychic senses were telling her something was wrong, she knew the warning had everything to do with her uncle. The living room was filled with hunters awaiting orders from Sloan and Lucian. All sat with grim looks on their faces at the news of Keith’s death. It had been a huge blow to the department. The commissioner had called already assigned Sloan to head the

precinct, in charge of both humans and paranormals alike. Sloan had naturally placed Lucian in charge of VCPTF. Sloan walked up to her, placing his hand on her shoulder. “Don’t worry, Sahara. We will find him.” “I hope so.” “Are you ready to make contact?” “As ready as I’ll ever be,” she replied. Sahara closed her eyes and concentrated on connecting her mind to Maximum’s. The dark, evil vampire did not disappoint when he answered her silent call with evil laughter. “Guess who it is that I have with me, daughter?” “Who?” “A favorite uncle of yours, I’m trying to decide how I should kill him.” “I am ready to join you side, father.” Sahara battled the need to show her disgust. She couldn’t afford to let Maximum know how she truly felt. “A sudden change of mind? That’s so unlike you.” “Not really. I’m proposing a trade. I’ll join you, if you let my uncle go.” “You don’t sound too happy about joining me,” Maximum laughed. “How about this? You meet me at Amityville cemetery, and I’ll let your uncle live long enough to see me drink your blood. Sahara physically shuddered. “Deal.” “I’ll see you in an hour, sweet daughter.” Sahara severed the connection she had with him and opened her eyes to a very worried looking group of hunters. “We’re meeting him in an hour at Amityville cemetery.

He has Dominic. He wants me. I offered him a trade. He wants my blood for Dominic’s life. I agreed to it. “Over my fucking dead body will he taste you again,” Sloan shouted as he grasped Sahara, hauling her to her feet. “You don’t get any crazy ideas about saving him. Our team is here for that.” Maximum would be able to sense the hunters at the cemetery, but if it helped Sloan’s mind that they were there, she could do nothing but agree. Sahara nodded as she silently blocked her thoughts from Sloan. She would do anything to save her uncle. There would be no more deaths in her name.

Chapter 12
Sahara unsheathed her Sai knives as she silently walked through the cemetery. The hunters were already positioned in hidden dark corners and mausoleums all hoping to be the one to slay Maximum. Retribution burned through everyone’s mind. Sahara couldn’t blame them. Maximum has lived for centuries, leaving death and destruction in his wake. Who knew how many lives his evil dementia had taken? Sahara could not guess and did not want to. Her only purpose now was to kill the evil that tormented her chance at happiness. “I’m here for you, darling. Everything will turn out fine,” Sloan whispered through her mind. He and Lucian were hidden directly beside her. Sahara burned with the love she felt for him. He made her believe everything would be okay. “So, you came alone?” Maximum asked with a sneer across his face. She had been so entranced in Sloan that she had missed the vampire hovering over a tree. Sahara gasped as he held an unconscious Dominic in one hand. “I came alone,” she bit out through clenched teeth. Maximum landed before her, dropping Dominic to the ground. “You lie! My dear daughter, I can feel your pathetic hunter’s presence here. Did you think you could hide them from me?” he laughed. “You have a choice to make. Rule by my side or your uncle dies.” Sahara had all intentions of playing it cool, but the fury and lust to kill this

particular vampire overruled all of her senses. “You killed my mother and tortured my family for years. It is your turn to die,” she screamed as she gave a flying leap in the air and aimed her knives at his heart. Maximum met her half way, reaching for her neck with his hand. Sahara felt him grab her tightly at the same time one of her knives plunged into the tip of his heart. She felt his pain in reaction to the metal steel point. Sahara struggled, kicking at his chin with brutal strength as she heard the bone crunch under the force of her kick. Maximum didn’t relax the tight hold he had on her neck. Instead, he squeezed harder as Sahara choked with the need for air. Sahara felt, rather than heard, the hunters move out of their hidden space as they positioned their weapons at Maximum “You have one chance to let her go,” Sloan whispered deadly. He arched his sword in the air, waiting for the right moment to attack. Maximum relaxed his hold on Sahara, allowing her small gasps of air. “I finally get to meet the man you’ve been fucking, dear daughter,” he said as he brought her face to face with him and licked the side of her cheek. “I can not wait to taste you again,” he murmured for hear ears only. Her stomach battled with the urge to throw up at his touch as she felt Sloan’s presence enter her mind. She blocked Maximum while she gave Sloan a tiny window in her psyche. “I’m taking him down, Sahara. Lucian is coming in on the left. I’m taking the right. The hunters will close him in at the same time. He can’t get all of us at once.” She prayed Sloan was right and that everyone would survive the night. “I love you.”

Sloan ached with a burning fury to put the vampire in his resting place once and for all. His plan had better work. He was not taking any chances with Sahara’s life. She was his and no one was going to take her away from him. Sloan hand signaled to Lucian and the others. All nodded and waited his go ahead. The vampire watched them with a crazed filled look in his gaze. Sloan eyed Lucian, waiting for the right moment to run him through. Seconds later, Lucian gave him the diversion he was looking for. Sloan watched, surprised, as his best friend changed to a werewolf right before his eyes. He felt Sahara’s gasp and shock as everyone stared transfixed at the bones popping before them, reforming to make Lucian into what he was. A werewolf. There was no time to contemplate the stunning scenario. With a nod to his hunters and a burning madness for revenge, Sloan ran at Maximum as the hunters closed in. Maximum dropped Sahara just as Sloan pierced his shoulder with his sword. The vampire’s eyes flashed red and his teeth lengthened as he made a jump for Sloan. Maximum knocked the sword out of Sloan’s hand as the two men struggled briefly. Maximum grabbed Sloan by the throat, launching him in the air. Sloan landed on the hard ground, his back taking every brunt force of the fall. Sloan jumped to his feet, not giving the pain any time to settle. He was going to run at him again, when the sight before him left him mesmerized in its nightmarish grip.

Maximum had his full attention on Sloan, readying his attack when Lucian, in wolf form, jumped him from behind, closing in for the kill. The wolf gripped its teeth into Maximum’s neck with vicious strength, severing his head, instantly killing the vampire. Sloan walked over to Sahara, kneeling down beside her. “Are you okay?” “I’m fine. I checked Uncle Dominic’s throat. Maximum didn’t drink from him. He’s going to be fine.” “Wonderful news, my love,” Sloan replied as he hauled Sahara into his arms. “I love you,” he whispered into her ear. “I love you too.”
*****
Lucian shifted, his bones reforming back to human. He stood naked before his team. All watched him with a look of disbelief across their faces. He did not give a fuck what anyone thought of him, except for Selena. He did not want her finding out this way. Lucian planned on telling her first, but he couldn’t think of anything that would surprise Maximum, other than changing into his true form. Lucian stared at Selena. Distrust and wariness filled her brown eyes as she continued to eye him with disgust on her face. The uncomfortable eerie silence continued. Lucian picked up his clothing and dressed. The first to speak was Sloan. “Lucian, thank you for the job you did back there,” Sloan said as he slapped Lucian across the back.

Sahara walked up to him, embracing him in a hug. “Thank you. You were a great help to us.” Lucian returned her hug without removing his gaze from Selena. Disengaging himself from Sahara’s embrace, Lucian made his way to Selena. “This is not the way I wanted to tell you,” Lucian said warily. He did not make a move to follow her as she turned and left without saying one word.

Chapter 13
Sahara awoke, sensing even in her sleep that something was wrong, but weirdly she was not frightened. Disoriented and still tired, she tried to move her arms only to realize that they were tied to the bedposts. Instinctively, Sahara jerked her legs and found them to be immoveable too. The blanket only covered her from the waist down. She eyed the empty space beside her warily as her psyche reached out to Sloan. “Where are you?” Sloan laughed in her mind. “Waiting outside of the door.” “Get your ass in here.” The door opened to Sloan’s bedroom and Sahara’s gaze flew to the fine, hot body standing naked in the doorway. The man was shaped like a God with hard muscles and a six-pack stomach she wanted to taste. Her eyes traveled lower and she swallowed, immediately aroused at the sight of his long shaft, hard and ready. “What is this, Sloan?” “I owe you a punishment for leaving to go to your uncle’s home without telling me anything,” he growled as he walked over to her bed. “I was upset,” she whispered breathlessly. “You should have come to me,” he replied as he removed the white sheet from her body. Her pussy creamed at the dark gaze he threw at her while he took his time committing her nakedness to memory. “I needed to confront my uncle alone,” she said trying to defend herself. While

she secretly hoped at the same time he wouldn’t stop whatever he was planning. “There is no alone between me and you. I have made that clear to you on several occasions, darling. Now it’s time I show you.”

Sloan’s shaft throbbed as ice-hot desire filled him at the sight of her naked and submissive before him. He bent, crawling to her on the bed placing himself between her open thighs. “I love you. I have nothing to hide from you. All I need is your trust, honey. With that everything will be okay.” He felt her emotions become tangled as her eyes watered. “You have my trust,” she whispered. Sloan’s felt his blood rush to his cock at the acceptance in her gaze. He bent over, palming her breasts, tweaking the hard nipples. Sahara moaned, arching her body close to his as he took a hardening tip into his mouth, sucking hard. Sloan lifted his head. Sahara whimpered at the lost of his heated mouth. He took a nipple between the tips of his fingers, pulling slightly and said, “I want to see you pierced here, darling. It’s a slight pressure when they’re doing it, but when it does heal, babe, you will get so aroused by me just sucking it with my tongue or pulling on it. Would you like that, honey? Would you come with me to get your nipple pierced?” Sloan grabbed both breasts, pushing the mounds together and sucked on both nipples at the same time. “Anything Sloan…anything,” she whispered, trapped in the seductive web he unleashed.

Sloan’s dick grew harder and wetter as he struggled with the need to fuck her. Feverish with need, he placed the head of his dick into the opening of her pussy taking his time coating it with her juices. Sahara arched her body, trying to impale herself on his shaft. Sloan grabbed her thighs, stilling her. “From now on, babe, you will tell me everything going on through your head,” he growled and waited for her to acknowledge his statement with a promise. “I love you Sloan,” she whispered as she nodded her head in agreement to his words. Sloan covered her body, thrusting his cock into her. Wet heat enveloped his shaft as he fucked her, like a man starved for his final meal. She whimpered, arching up to him. He couldn’t get enough of her. It was as if they had not already fucked three times last night. He licked and sucked the tender skin of her neck, palming her breasts while continuing his thrusts. Through their psychic connection he felt everything she felt, and knew she loved the way he made love to her. A hot rope of pre-cum leaked into her pussy as her whimpers grew louder. He moved in and out faster, placing his lips on hers, swallowing her cries as her cunt tightened on his shaft and her lower body arched off the bed in rapture. Sloan growled into Sahara’s mouth as he came in an endless stream, his white-hot seed ripped out of him in a pleasure so great that he silently wished it were endless. Sloan reached over, untying her and draping her over his body. His chest felt like it was exploding with the love he had for her. He was in awe while feeling humble at the same time that someone high above saw fit to unite them together. I love you, Sahara,”

Epilogue
“Did you tell her?” Gabriel asked his twin brother. “It is not the right time,” Lucian replied. “Fuck, Lucian. I don’t know how long I could withstand from fucking her.” “We need to ease her into it. This is not going to be a simple mating. The fact that we are werewolves alone will scare her.” “She’s a hunter. She’ll learn to deal with it.” “Have you decided to join our team yet?” Lucian asked hoping to divert the conversation from the sex goddess they both lusted after. “I’ll give you my decision in a couple of days. Call me when I can meet her in person. Talk to you later bro…” Lucian hung up the phone. His cock ached to feel the tight clasp of Selena’s pussy surrounding him. It was a daily battle not throwing her against the floor and fucking her like he really wanted too. Gabriel had stopped by the office yesterday to get a feel for the place as he caught a glimpse of Selena and knew immediately that she was their mate. Lucian had fought the desire, knowing the spirited, Latin dark-haired beauty wouldn’t be an easy catch. She was one of their best paranormal hunters and deserved recognition in her own right. She had trained with the best and wielded her sword with practiced ease. Lucian had stayed away, admiring her from afar. Until a week ago, she did not

know who he was. He would never forget the anger he saw in her eyes as he shifted in front of her to save Sahara. Lucian knew she saw it as a sense of betrayal. He was the first paranormal werewolf to join the Miami based division of VCPTF, Violent Crimes Paranormal Task Force. No one but the late Keith Mariano knew what he was until that faithful night. Sahara and Sloan, both with paranormal powers themselves, accepted him immediately. Selena, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with him. Now that Sloan was in charge of the entire department, ruling both humans and paranormals alike, Lucian was placed in charge of the hunter’s unit, VCPTF. Lucian’s dick hardened as the air around him suddenly changed, filling his lungs with a jasmine scent. Only one woman smelled that way, fueling his need to mate. Lucian instinctively knew his mate was headed his way. Selena entered his office with a sexy sway to her hips as she closed the door behind her and sauntered over to his desk. She half-sat with her leg perched on his desk and the other standing on the floor. Lucian battled the need to throw her on the floor and fuck her like an animal in heat. Her fragrance silently seduced him into wanting her. His cock throbbed and his teeth ached with the strong desire to mate with her and complete the act by marking her as his. “What do you have for me?” he growled. “Our next case. The victim was murdered by a paranormal on Broward Boulevard,” she replied as she threw the file hazardously on his desk. Lucian concentrated on the file; grateful for the slight reprieve it gave him. Dealing with deaths was not something anyone would ever get used to. Horror

filled him as the first picture of the victim came to view. A blonde woman from the neck down torn to shredded pieces by some demented creature. “How do you know it’s a paranormal?” Lucian asked her, though from the pictures alone he could see she was right. “Well that was just a guess. I was hoping you could help me out with that, since you’re our first official wolf on the team,” she bit out sarcastically.
