Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Chapter One Eyeing himself critically in the mirror, Joey adjusted the fit of his new low-rise jeans. Who was he trying to kid? He knew he couldn't pull this look off. He was a short, skinny, twentyfour-year old closeted head case. Yeah, he'd come over a hundred miles to Tulsa just to go to Club Maverick, but was he ready? Taking a deep breath, he put his room key, money and ID in his small vest pocket. With one last look, Joey smiled as the small gold hoop in his right nipple caught the overhead bathroom light. He'd originally planned on getting them both pierced, but the first one hurt so much that he'd backed out of the second one. "If people back home could see me now," he said with a chuckle and shake of his head. **** Standing in front of the big red door of Club Maverick, Joey almost turned back. Maybe he should have brought a friend? Who would he have brought? He didn't have many friends, just a few coworkers he occasionally went out for a drink with and his best friend, April. He doubted even April would go to a gay bar with him, although she was the only one who knew of his sexuality. He grasped the cold metal handle. "It's now or never," he whispered to the full summer moon. Opening the door he was greeted by an old Brooks and Dunn song. 8

Swallowing around the lump in his throat, Joey walked towards the bar. He passed the pool tables and couldn't help but notice the attention his clothes were garnering. Maybe he didn't look like such a fool after all. Several guys were wearing similar versions of the same outfit. Sliding onto an available stool, he waited for one of the three bartenders to notice him. They were all handsome men, but one in particular caught his eye. He'd always had a thing for tall, dark-haired men. This one in particular looked like a reoccurring wet dream. Geeze, the guy had to be well over six feet tall with shoulders as wide as a barn. The bar man in question turned and caught Joey's gaze. He held up a finger indicating he'd be right over. Joey watched the guy's black curly hair shine in the overhead lights as he bent to unhook an empty keg of beer. Walking towards the end of the bar, the huge mountain of a man hoisted a new keg above his head, and the heads of his fellow bartenders. Damn. Joey's mouth watered at the bulging muscles encased in a tight black T-shirt. He stopped on his way past the other bartenders and spoke to both of them briefly before carrying the heavy keg over to hook it up. When the guy bent over, Joey couldn't help but to zero in on his ass. The soft denim stretched in all the right places. For a broad shouldered man, Mr. Gorgeous had a surprisingly small backside.

Finished hooking up the new keg, the bartender stood and turned around. He walked straight over and leaned against the bar. "Can I help you?" he asked over the loud music. "Uh, yeah. I'd like a shot of tequila." He was mesmerised by the eyes staring into him. Gold, the man's eyes were gold, like those of a lion. "I'll need to see some ID." "Uh, yeah, sure." Joey dug his driver's license out of his vest pocket. When he did, his room card fell out and onto the bar. The bartender picked up the card and held out his hand for Joey's license. One black eyebrow shot up as he read the date of birth. "You're twenty-four?" He grinned and handed the license back to Joey. "I would've guessed eighteen or nineteen." Joey felt himself blush. "It's my size. It throws people off all the time." "Welcome to Tulsa, Joseph. I'm Curt." He fiddled with Joey's room card for several moments and then handed it back. "Nice to meet you, Curt. You can call me Joey." "Well, Joey, I'll be right back with that shot," Curt shouted. Curt. Joey rolled the name around on his tongue as the man in question poured his drink. Curt was back in no time. Instead of setting the small glass on the bar, he held it out. Joey smiled and reached for his drink, brushing Curt's fingers in the process. "Thanks." Joey drank the tequila in one swallow. Wow, he thought as the liquid burned his throat. Maybe it was an acquired taste. 10
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Involuntarily, he coughed as his breath became trapped in his throat. A large hand pounded him on the back as Curt reached across the bar. "Easy," Curt said with a wink. After he was able to breathe again, Joey felt his face blush in embarrassment. How could he have made such a fool of himself in front of this man? "Sorry, I guess you've probably figured out I'm not used to tequila." "So why'd you order it?" Curt grinned. Joey shrugged. "Liquid courage?" Curt's eyes narrowed. "Is this your first time in a gay bar?" "Yeah, they don't have any in Lymon." Joey passed the empty glass back to Curt. "I'd like another, please." Curt grinned and shook his head. "I've got a better idea. Why don't I fix you something a little easier on your throat?" "Like?" he questioned. "Let me surprise you," Curt said and walked away. While he was gone, Joey took the opportunity to look around the smokey room. There were several people dancing. Big bodies pressed belt buckle to belt buckle. Fuck, it was hot. He'd been to the bar back in his hometown, but this was the first time he'd ever witnessed two men dancing together openly. Damn, what a hayseed I am. "Here you go," a deep voice shouted. Joey turned away from the dance floor and looked at the glass in front of him. "What's in it?" he asked, looking at the drink. Curt put one long finger to his lips. "Shhh, it's a secret recipe. Try it." 11
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Picking up the glass, Joey took a tentative sip. "Oh, yum. This is a lot better than tequila." He set his glass down and pulled his money out of his vest. "How much do I owe you?" "Four for the shot. This one's on the house," Curt said pointing towards Joey's drink. Joey handed him a ten and leaned closer to talk over the noise. "I don't want you to get into trouble because of me." "Although I have absolutely no doubt you're trouble, Scott will understand." "Scott? Is that your boyfriend?" Figured. Just when he found someone he'd be willing to step out of his comfort-zone for, he finds there's another person involved. "No." Curt chuckled and shook his head. "Scott is one of the owners. He and his partner Mark are good friends of mine. That's why I'm working tonight. One of their regular bartenders called in sick." With an internal sigh of relief, Joey took another sip of his drink. He knew it contained mostly ginger ale, but there was another taste he couldn't put his finger on. No matter, it was good and it was free. One of the other bartenders yelled for Curt. With an audible sigh, Curt reached out and ran a finger over Joey's lips, surprising him. "I need to get back to work. I've got a break coming up in a couple of hours. I'd like a turn around the dance floor with you if you're willing." Joey looked back towards the dance floor. "I really only know how to line dance. I wouldn't want to make a fool of you in front of your friends." 12
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Curt spread his arms wide. "This place is filled with my friends, and that's exactly the reason you don't need to worry." He pointed towards the DJ. "If you want a particular song, just ask. His name is Ron, but he goes by DJ Quake. Don't let his size intimidate you. He's a honey of a bear." Curt winked again before going to fill other orders. **** As the night wore on, Joey felt himself begin to loosen up. Curt brought him another one of his special drinks, once again refusing payment. Joey decided maybe he was ready to dance. Standing, he made his way through the crowd to the dance floor. The small group of men were dancing the Tush Push, one of Joey's favorites. "Mind if I join you?" Joey asked the older man on the end. He gestured to the floor, in case the man hadn't heard him. "Not at all. Grab yourself a spot," the guy yelled in his ear. Stepping right into the dance wasn't a problem for him. Line-dancing was pretty popular at his hometown bar, and because he didn't dare dance with a partner, this was the perfect solution. The song ended and the DJ played another selection. This one, Joey didn't know. He made his way over to the DJ booth and waited. "Can I play something specific for ya?" DJ Quake asked. "Do you have Queen of Denial by Pam Tillis?" 13
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
The DJ's heavy brows shot up. "Yeah, I've got that. You plannin' to do a little Bump and Grind?" "I'd like to. It's my favorite." A wide smile spread across the DJ's face. "I'll put it on next." **** Curt finished drying a few of the bar glasses, as he watched Joey join the line of other dancing men. He was surprised. For a guy that seemed totally new to the scene, Joey definitely knew how to dance. He filled a few more drink orders, keeping his eye on the dancing man. He knew he should be ashamed of himself. He was almost twice the kid's age, but damn. "You seem a little preoccupied tonight," Mark said coming up behind him. Curt looked over his shoulder at his friend. He pointed towards Joey. "There's something about him." Mark looked at the dance floor. "He's got good moves. Did you ID him? He looks a little young to be in here." "Yeah I did. He's twenty-four and from out of town." That was the part that had Curt warring with himself. He wasn't interested in another one night stand. What else would a young hot guy like Joey want with an old fart like him? Mark's hand landed on his shoulder. "It's been a long time since I've seen you interested in someone, go for it." Without answering his friend, he moved to the end of the bar to take another order. Go for it, yeah, go for it and get my heart broken again. 14
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
When the music changed, Curt's eyes once again sought out Joey. "Oh hell no," he mumbled as that sweet little butt on stage went into the Bump and Grind. Curt had only seen the dance a couple of times and never like this. Joey was completely immersed in the song. Curt watched as the others on the dance floor stepped back to watch. It didn't appear Joey was even aware of those around him. Each swivel of his hips caused Curt's jeans to become tighter until he couldn't take it anymore and ran a hand over the front of his fly. It seemed the entire bar stopped to watch the seductive dance. Shit. If Joey hadn't garnered attention before, he was sure as hell getting it now. He'd lose him before he ever got a chance to hold him in his arms. He turned to Mark. "I'm taking my break," he yelled. Mark smiled and nodded. Moving out from behind the bar, Curt walked slowly towards the dance floor. "Hey, Ron," he shouted over the music. "Play me something slow." Ron laughed and nodded his head. Yeah, he knew he was pathetic, but he had to stake his claim before someone else tried to move in. He stood on the edge of the dance floor, hard and wanting. Joey turned his head and looked into his eyes. The heat between them was obvious as Joey motioned him over. Taking a few steps, Curt looked at Ron, who cut the music off and immediately put on a slow song.

Groans from the crowd let Curt know they weren't happy with the premature ending of their entertainment. "Dance with me," he said, pressing his lips to Joey's ear. "You'll have to show me how," Joey answered, wrapping his arms around Curt's neck. It was the first time they'd stood together, and Curt noticed the extreme difference in their sizes. "Just move with me. I don't care what we look like. I just want to hold you for a few minutes." Joey pressed himself closer. "Just a few minutes? I was hoping for more." Curt felt the sweet body press against the hard ridge of his jeans. He licked the shell of Joey's ear. "That can be arranged." He noticed others joining them on the floor and let himself go. Curt ran his hands up and under the back of Joey's vest to the smooth bare skin underneath. Joey's skin felt like silk against his callused hands. Joey's face nuzzled against Curt's chest. He was momentarily surprised when he felt a bite to his T-shirt covered nipple. With a groan, Curt placed his hands on Joey's buns and lifted. "Put your legs around me," Curt said through clenched jaws. He'd never had a reaction this intense. He moaned when Joey's legs wrapped around his waist. Curt felt the evidence of Joey's passion press against his abdomen. It seemed Joey wasn't little everywhere. He buried his face in Joey's neck, breathing the sweet smell of sweat that clung to his partner. 16

Wispy brown hair tickled his nose as he began to lick at the damp skin. "You're so hot." "I've been dancing," Joey replied. Curt smiled. This guy didn't seem to know how attractive he was. "I meant hot as in sexy. You had the entire room transfixed. I was afraid if I didn't stake my claim, I'd lose you to someone else." Damn. He usually played his cards much closer to the vest, so why suddenly did he have diarrhea of the mouth? Joey ground himself against Curt's torso. "I'll let you in on a secret. I've wanted you since I walked in." Curt squeezed the twin globes in his hands eliciting a loud moan from the man in his arms. Soft lips worked their way up Curt's neck, over his chin to hover above his mouth. "Can I kiss you?" Joey asked. "Please." Curt groaned and closed the distance. Joey opened for him immediately and Curt wasted no time tasting the man of his dreams. The arms around Curt's neck tightened as Joey really got into the kiss, moving his hips as he squeezed Curt with his legs. Their tongues danced inside each other's mouths as the music continued to beat around them. Finally breaking the kiss, Curt looked into Joey's blue eyes. "Come home with me before I embarrass myself." Joey nodded and ran his tongue over Curt's stubbled jaw. "I feel free for the first time in my life." Getting a tighter grip on Joey, Curt walked off the dance floor. He found Scott milling around in the crowd. "Sorry, buddy, but I'm gonna have to bail on you." 17
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Scott eyed the two of them. "Not a problem. Thanks for filling in." Carrying Joey out to the parking lot, he neared his black four wheel drive truck. He didn't dare tell Joey how nervous he was. He was supposed to be the experienced one, but something about this felt different. Curt unlocked the driver's door and set Joey on the seat. The smaller man scooted across the seat to the passenger side, and Curt climbed in. "Come back over here," he said. Joey smiled and immediately plastered himself to Curt's side. "I didn't want to seem too forward," Joey chuckled. "Be as forward as you like. I can take it," he said in return. He pulled out of the parking lot and onto Sheridan. He smiled when Joey pulled his shirt out of his jeans and wrapped his arms around him, tucking his hands down the front waistband of Curt's jeans. "Damn," he groaned. "You're not making this easy on me." "You're right," Joey said in his ear. "I'm trying my best to make it hard." "No worries there." He quickly turned off Sheridan to a side street. No sense getting a ticket. As his truck flew down the street, he relished in the feel of the man plastered against his side. The roaming hands slid deeper as he felt the snap on his jeans give way. Before they reached his street, Joey had his length in hand, exploring each vein and ridge. Curt parked in his drive and shut down the engine. After moving the seat back as far as it would go, he reached over 18

and lifted Joey onto his lap. "You're lucky we made it home in one piece." "Sorry," Joey whispered. "It must be the booze. I've never felt like this before." Curt grinned. "You've only had one drink. My special recipe is for designated drivers. Not a drop of alcohol." Joey's eyes rounded in surprise. "You tricked me?" "No, well, yeah. But I didn't want you agreeing to something that you'd regret later." Curt cupped Joey's butt in one hand as he ran the other up the length of the hairless chest, stopping at the small gold hoop. "This is nice. Are you sensitive here?" He asked as he plucked at the piercing. Joey's head fell back as his chest was thrust forward. "Uh, yeah," Joey moaned. "I just wish I'd had the guts to get them both done." Curt tried to picture Joey with both nipples decorated. Yum. A light next door flipped on, ruining the moment. "Come on," Curt said and pulled Joey out of the truck. Hand in hand they walked up the porch steps to his front door. "It's not much, but its home." Curt switched on the living room light. "It's nice," Joey remarked looking around the spacious room. "I have another room that's even nicer," Curt said and led Joey down the hall to his bedroom. Turning on the small bedside lamp, Curt pulled his T-shirt over his head. As he tossed it to the corner of the room, he noticed the deer in the headlight look on Joey's face. He cursed himself for being too forward. Knowing it was probably Joey's first 19

time, he knew he should've eased him into it. This man wasn't like the countless others. This one was special. Curt sat on the edge of the bed and held out his hand. "Come over here and talk to me." He noticed Joey's Adam's apple bob up and down as he swallowed. After a few brief moments, Joey joined him on the bed. Wrapping an arm around the smaller man, Curt kissed the top of Joey's head. "Would you feel better if I told you I won't fuck you tonight? I'm not a prude, but I'd like this to be more than a one night thing." Curt hoped his statement would help put Joey more at ease. Joey exhaled and nodded. "It does make me feel better. I'm sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me." "Don't be sorry. I like you, and I don't mind getting to know you better before things progress." As soon as he said it, he realised how true the statement was. **** Joey took off his vest and settled against Curt's long body. With his head resting on Curt's strong shoulder, he closed his eyes. "I've never..." "I know," Curt said with a kiss to his temple. Joey rolled his eyes. Of course Curt knew. He might as well have the word virgin stamped on his forehead. He was so horny it was a little sad. "I've played around a little in college, but I've never been ... fucked," he admitted. "I want to. I'm just a little scared." 20
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
"Can I try something? If it makes you uncomfortable I'll stop." He nodded his head, hoping Curt wouldn't give up on him. The bigger man rolled over on top and kissed him. Oh yeah, those lips were what had gotten his motor running earlier. Curt definitely knew how to kiss. As the kiss deepened, his legs automatically spread. Curt groaned and began rubbing himself against Joey's fly. He felt a hand press against him as Curt unfastened his jeans. Soon, Joey felt his naked length being gripped in Curt's hand. "Oh, it's so much better," he mumbled as Curt began moving on top of him. "You haven't felt anything yet." Joey heard another zipper lower. Removing his hand, Curt's body slid against his. It was the first time Joey had ever felt another man against him. He knew he couldn't hold out, the pleasure was too intense. "I can't ... I'm gonna," he panted tossing his head from side to side. "Do it." Joey's eyes rolled to the back of his head as he felt the orgasm overtake him. "Yessss," he hissed as warmth spread between the two of them. Grinding down against him, Curt's spine stiffened as he too slipped over the edge. Joey didn't think he'd ever felt anything so wonderful. No, he knew he hadn't. As his breathing returned to normal, he looked at Curt. "Wow." Curt chuckled. "Yeah, wow." 21
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
"Can I take you home with me?" he joked. "Probably, if I could find a job where you're from," Curt answered sleepily. "Better yet, why don't you consider moving to Tulsa?" Joey thought about it. He was sure Curt wasn't serious, but he'd thought about moving to a bigger city for a while. "How's the job market for accountants in Tulsa?" One of Curt's eyes opened. "As good as any place. You really thinking about it?" "Yeah, I guess I am." He suddenly worried Curt would think he was a psycho U-Haul lesbian. "It doesn't mean I'm going to start following you around. I mean, I like you, a lot, but I don't think small town life is going to have the same appeal anymore." Curt grinned. "I don't think I'd mind you following me around. As a matter of fact, if you move here, I might be following you around." "Really?" "Yeah. Does that scare you?" Curt ran a finger down the side of Joey's face. "Not in the least." "Good." Curt kissed him. [Back to Table of Contents]

Chapter Two "So, are you going to Tulsa again anytime soon?" Joey ate another bite of pizza and nodded. He'd been home two weeks and couldn't wait to go back. Lymon had been a good town to grow up in, but it was time to spread his wings. He'd kept in contact with Curt, talking on the phone for hours at a stretch. Curt had invited him up to spend a long weekend, and Joey had jumped at the chance. He'd already put in for a day off work. Maybe while he was in Tulsa he'd get a paper and search for a job. He looked at his best friend since childhood. "What do you think Mom would say if she knew I was gay?" April's eyes rounded. "You're not thinking of telling her, are you? I thought you said what she didn't know couldn't hurt her." "Yeah, I did say that." So why was he thinking of jumping out of the closet now? Curt's face came to mind. Maybe it was just having a boyfriend for the first time in his life. Boyfriend? He realised that's how he thought of Curt, but he didn't have a clue what Curt thought. He was sure Curt had guys coming onto him all the time. Working in a bar with the way he looked, he probably went home with a different guy every night. "Earth to Joey," April said. "Huh?" April grinned. "That cute, huh?" 23
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
"Who?" Joey tried to play it off. "The guy you met in Tulsa. What's his name?" Joey had tried to keep certain details to himself about his previous trip. It wasn't that he felt April would gossip, but some things were just too special to share. "Curt." "Nice name," she commented. "He's a nice guy." Joey thought of Curt's golden eyes. He especially liked the way they crinkled around the edges. His grandma used to tell him it was a sign a person enjoyed smiling. He liked the thought of that. Did Curt think of him and smile? "You're hopeless," April sighed. "Sorry. I guess I'm not very good company lately." April shrugged. "I'm glad you've finally found someone who seems to make you happy." "You will too someday," he added. April had terrible luck when it came to men. "Find me a good one while you're in Tulsa, would ya?" she asked. He doubted he'd run into many straight guys hanging out at Club Maverick, but he didn't want to dash April's hopes. "I'll ask Curt if he has any nice friends." "Make sure you warn him I'm not a size two." Joey shook his head. It was always the same old argument. For some reason, April had it in her head that she was fat. He may not be into women, but he recognised a sexy voluptuous body when he saw one. It wasn't the first time he wondered how much damage her ex-boyfriends had done to her self-esteem. 24
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
He thought of the picture of April in his wallet. It was of the two of them at Grand Lake the summer before last. April hated the picture and told Joey to destroy it. If only she knew he had it with him every day. He liked April in the picture. Her blonde hair contrasted so beautifully with the tan she'd acquired that summer. He'd teased her about looking like a mermaid in the picture. Of course April had insisted she'd never find shells big enough to cover her breasts. She'd probably been right about that one. "You're gonna leave me aren't you?" she asked. "What? For the weekend? Yeah, I'm sorry, but Curt invited me up." "No. I mean you're going to move to Tulsa." "I don't know. We talked a little about it." Joey could see the disbelief in her eyes. "I thought I might look at the want ads while I'm there, but I've no intention of moving in with Curt." He could see the hurt in April's eyes. They'd always done everything together. Hell, they'd even gone to the same college so they could share an apartment. "Maybe we could move up together? We could rent a two bedroom and split the cost." She still didn't say anything. "I'm sure there are more eligible men in Tulsa than in Lymon." That seemed to perk her up. "You're right." She narrowed her eyes at him. "Would I cramp your style?" "That depends on you. Will it bother you if you saw me making out with a guy?" "No." 25
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Joey watched as April's face flushed. "Does that embarrass you?" April bit her lip and shook her head. "I'm a little worried that it might turn me on. Oh god, I'm gonna turn into a fag hag." Joey started laughing and leaned across the table to place a kiss on April's cheek. "As long as you don't try and steal any of my boyfriends we'll be cool." "Same goes," she said. **** Joey left right after work for the two hour drive northeast. Curt told him he had to fill in at the bar again and asked if Joey would mind meeting him there. He pulled his maroon VW Jetta into the parking lot. Even though it was still light out, he decided to park directly under a street light. His car was the only thing of worth that he owned and he wasn't about to take any chances with it. He felt a little more comfortable walking inside on this visit. At least he knew one person more than he had before. He smiled and waved when he made eye contact with Curt. Wearing his low rise jeans and tight white silk T-shirt, Joey strode towards the bar and the lips he'd been dreaming about. "Hey," Curt said. He came out from behind the bar and wrapped Joey in his arms. "I was hoping you'd get here before the crowd." Joey hadn't even noticed the room held only a few patrons. "Where is everyone?" he asked, stealing a kiss. The music 26

was turned low enough they could actually have a fairly normal conversation. He knew things would change, but for now, it was nice. "The place doesn't normally get crowded until around nine." Joey looked at his watch. "Well then, we've got an entire hour." The phone started ringing and Curt looked towards the bar. "I'd better get that. I'm the only one here for another thirty minutes or so." Curt took Joey's hand and pulled him behind the bar with him while he answered the phone. "Maverick." "Hey, Jim," Curt said. He pulled Joey against him. Joey wrapped his arms around Curt and kissed the smooth chest on display. Although new to him, the black leather vest looked well worn. He wondered momentarily if Curt had worn it in hopes that Joey would wear his leather pants. Evidently Jim was one of the bartenders, because Curt started arguing with him. "No, dammit. This is not a full-time gig for me, asshole. You can't just take off and assume I'll pick up your slack." Joey could feel Curt's heart pounding under his lips as he unbuttoned the top of the vest. Sliding his tongue across the dark brown nipple, Joey smiled at the way the tanned flesh pebbled under his touch. Curt's hand grasped the back of Joey's head, holding him in place. Joey latched on and suckled until he knew he'd drawn up a bruise. Good. He'd never marked another man as his, but it felt right with Curt. 27
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Curt's chest seemed to rumble as he hung up the phone. "What the hell are you doing to me," Curt moaned. "Showing you how much I missed you," Joey said. Curt grabbed Joey's hand and lowered it to the hard ridge of his cock. "Does this show you how much I've missed you?" Feeling much bolder, Joey squeezed Curt's cock. A throat cleared and Joey jumped, trying to step away from his lover. Curt held him where he was and looked over Joey's shoulder. "What can I get you, Ernie?" "I'll take some of what you're getting," Ernie chuckled. "Don't even joke about it," Curt warned. He released his hold on Joey and kissed him. "There's a stool at the end of the bar. Let me get this jokester taken care of and I'll be over." "Sure," he said. Joey floated his way to the stool. He'd never made anyone act jealous. He liked it. Joey squirmed on the stool, trying to find a comfortable position for his hard-on as he watched Curt mix a drink for Ernie. It was fascinating watching the man pour and stir. Almost like chemistry class. After Curt handed Ernie his change, he walked over and leaned on the bar and kissed him. "God you're a distraction." "I can go sit somewhere else if you'd like?" Joey grinned. "Don't you dare!" Curt grinned back. "Maybe I should take some bartending classes. From the sound of it, this place could use another fill-in guy." Curt shook his head and traced Joey's gold nipple ring through his shirt. "This place is full of friends. I hate to have to beat the shit out of my friends for ogling the help." 28

"You'd do that? For me?" The thought warmed him from within, setting his cock to throbbing once again. "You bet I would." Curt cupped Joey's cheek. "There's something special about you. I hope I don't scare the shit out of you when I say I plan on keeping you for myself." "No, not at all," Joey said, leaning into Curt's palm. "Hey, Curt," Scott said. Joey looked over his shoulder, embarrassed that Curt's boss had caught them. He turned back to Curt and mouthed the words, "I'm sorry." Curt chuckled and placed a quick kiss on Joey's lips. "You remember Joey don't you, Scott?" "Of course. You're the Bump and Grind guy." Curt's eyes narrowed just a bit until Scott chuckled, indicating he was only trying to get a rise out of him. "Jim won't be in all weekend. He flew to Vancouver with Ned." Scott said a few choice words, and turned to gesture Mark over to the bar. "I can work a couple of shifts, but Joey's come in for the weekend," Curt added. Scott turned away from them to speak with Mark. When they both turned back, Joey could tell that Mark wasn't at all happy. "Do you know of anyone we could call?" Mark asked Curt. Curt scratched his jaw in thought. "Mojo would probably do it, but he hasn't worked the bar in a couple of years. If he's interested, he can work a night with me as a refresher." "Shit, why didn't I think of Mojo. What's he doing now?" Scott asked. "He's been working in Jasper's antique shop." 29

Scott chuckled and shook his head. "I can't believe the two of them are still together. I've never met an odder match." "Eight years and still going strong," Curt said. "His number's the same. You should still have it in your book." "I'll go call him," Scott said and disappeared towards the office. After Scott left, Mark joined Curt behind the bar. "Looks like it's you and me, bud." **** Curt enjoyed seeing Joey watch him. The young man's eyes seemed to be devouring him every time he turned around. Evidently Joey liked what he saw. He winked at his sexy new boyfriend. Boyfriend. Curt shook his head. He was thirty-seven years old. What did he know about wooing a twenty-four year old? "Why don't you take a break," Scott said in his ear. "Thanks. Did you ever get hold of Mojo?" "Yeah. We're in luck. Jasper's up in New England on a buying trip, so his evenings are free." "Excellent," Curt said, and pulled Joey off his bar stool. "Come on, let's dance." As they wove through the crowd, Curt made sure he had a good grip on Joey's hand. By that time of night, most of the patrons were well into their drink, and he didn't want to take the chance a stray hand would find its way to Joey's ass. Funny. He'd never in his life been jealous of a lover.

Once they reached the dance floor, he swung Joey into his arms and kissed him. Curt moaned at his first real taste of Joey in over two hours. "Nice," he said in Joey's ear. "I think this is a fast song," Joey chuckled. "Don't care. I need you in my arms." He lifted Joey by the ass and his lover wrapped his legs around him. "My back won't last the night if I have to keep bending over to kiss you. But this is better anyway." Joey nodded and tilted his chin down. "Sorry I'm so short." "Hey," Curt said. He put his finger under Joey's chin and tilted it back up. "I like you just the way you are. Don't ever doubt that." Joey gave him a small nod and a half smile. "Um, I brought something with me. I'm not sure how to do this. I mean, I'm not sure when is the right time to bring it up, but I have a paper that says I don't have anything. I just thought you should know." Curt's cock swelled to unbelievable proportions. "Gonna taste you," he moaned. He hadn't fucked anyone bareback in years. The thought had his cock dripping pre-cum against the fly of his jeans. He smiled. "Just the thought is giving me an obscene wet spot." He made a decision on the spot. "It's been about six months for me, but I'll have it done before your next trip up." He knew Joey didn't realise what a big deal it was. By taking the test and fucking bareback, Curt was promising to remain faithful to one man. His head was beginning to spin. What the hell was happening to him? He'd made a point not to get heavily 31

involved with one man. Working weekends in a bar, Curt saw men in seemingly committed relationships play, and play often. He'd even been a participant occasionally. Could one man satisfy him enough that he didn't feel the need to wander? Joey moved in his arms, rubbing his cock against Curt's lower torso. Yeah, he thought maybe he could. "Just wait until I get you home," he said in Joey's ear. "I'm gonna strip you out of these jeans and devour that pretty cock of yours. I'm going to drink every last drop of your seed, relishing in it as it slides down my throat." Joey moaned and rubbed faster. "Gonna cum just from you talking about it." "Have you been touching yourself at night?" Curt asked. He loved to talk dirty and Joey seemed to get off on it, too. Joey looked Curt in the eyes. He saw the devilish gleam in their blue depths. "I've been practicing with a plug. I stretch myself and insert it and think of you fucking me. I ride that piece of silicone like I want to ride your cock." "Fuck," Curt moaned. He looked around the room. There were only a small handful of women in the place. Should he? "Then I come all over my chest and lick every bit of it up, imagining that it's your cum I'm tasting," Joey added. The decision made for him, Curt quickly set Joey on his feet and pulled him to the women's restroom. "Anyone in here?" he called out. When he was met by silence, he carried Joey into a stall and shut the door. He turned Joey to face him and fell to his knees. He released his own cock first, knowing once he tasted Joey, he'd 32

be lost. "Can't wait," he said unfastening Joey's fly. The thick bobbing head sprang free. Curt moaned as he fisted the base of Joey's cock. His other hand wrapped around his own erection, stroking slowly. His mouth watered at the leaking slit. He leaned forward and sucked the crown into his mouth. Oh shit. Joey tasted like every fantasy he'd ever had. He took the pale cock as far into his mouth as he could without gagging. He'd never bothered to learn how to deep throat a guy because he normally wasn't much of a giver in that department. The more he thought about it, the more he realised it had been a very long time since he'd gone down on someone. He usually preferred to be serviced by his playmates, but one taste of Joey and he knew he'd soon become addicted. Joey's fingers wound themselves in Curt's hair as he began a shallow thrust. "Never knew, oh god, never knew it would feel like this," Joey panted. Knowing his lover was about to spill, Curt pulled back enough to savour Joey's cum. He lightly scraped the sensitive skin with his teeth and Joey shouted, pumping his juices into Curt's mouth. How he managed to swallow the entire load, while coming himself, he'd never understand. Joey's volume of seed was remarkable for such a small man. "I wanna taste you," Joey groaned, sinking to his knees in front of Curt. Curt shook his head. "In time. But here, taste yourself," he said as he thrust his tongue into his lover's mouth. Joey 33

seemed to melt in his arms and Curt knew he was being pulled under the blanket of love he'd tried so hard to avoid. The thought of Joey going back home was unbearable. He didn't do long-distance relationships, and new it would come between them sooner or later. Hopefully Joey would move up to Tulsa before their distance became a issue. **** "Are you sure you're not disappointed in me?" Curt asked for the fourth time. Joey rolled his eyes and continued to dry off after their shower. "I told you it was fine. I understand why you want to wait." Curt tossed his towel into the dirty clothes hamper. "I just want our first time to be special. The thought of riding that pretty ass of yours bareback is enough to help me wait until I can get tested." "I said it was fine," Joey soothed his lover. Despite all his talk earlier, Joey admitted to himself he was a little relieved that Curt wanted to wait. It wasn't that he was scared anymore. He'd been practicing twice a day with that damn butt plug, but he knew if Curt was so adamant about waiting, it meant he'd take their coupling more seriously. He knew it was stupid, but Joey actually believed once he had Curt inside of him, he'd never again look at another man. He supposed it had something to do with his strict upbringing, but he knew he'd never be the kind of guy to enjoy short affairs or one-night stands. 34
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
He grinned to himself. He was more the happily-ever-after kind of guy. He'd had several chances in college to hook up, but he'd never met anyone he liked enough to go that far. As the years went by and he still hadn't found that special someone, he decided he was tired of waiting. That's why he'd come to Tulsa in the first place. Little did he know that he'd find the guy he'd been waiting for all along. Curt took the towel out of Joey's hands. "Let's get some sleep." As they curled up under the covers, he replayed their love making earlier. He'd finally realised it wasn't all about fucking. With Curt, every touch, every kiss was an expression of passion and love. "Would it wig you out if I bought a paper and looked through the help wanted ads?" Joey asked. He was glad his head was on Curt's chest so he didn't have to look him in the eyes. "Are you kidding? I'd love it if you weren't two hours away." "I talked to my best friend April about moving up here with me. We shared an apartment at college and we make pretty good roommates." Joey felt Curt stiffen. "Yeah, you'd probably do better with a roommate," Curt finally said. As he fell asleep, Joey wondered what he'd said wrong. Maybe Curt didn't like the idea of him living with a woman. Why, he didn't quite understand. In his mind it was a hell of a lot safer than rooming with some guy. [Back to Table of Contents] 35

Chapter Three It seemed weird to be at the bar in the middle of the day. Curt had agreed to come in to give Mojo a refresher course. Joey had liked the guy immediately. He didn't know what Mojo's roots were, but the combination was amazing. The man's light brown skin was flawless. His shaved head seemed to almost glisten in the overhead bar light. "You're going to make me jealous again," Curt said in his ear as he leaned over the bar. "Why?" Joey asked innocently. "Because you've been staring at another man for damn near thirty minutes." He hadn't realised he'd been that obvious. "Sorry," he said and gave Curt a kiss. "I'm a little embarrassed, but I've been trying to figure out what his ethnicity is." Curt smiled. "Don't ask him. He'll keep you tied up for hours talking about his folks. His dad came from St. Thomas and his mom is a Native American." Curt started to lean back, but Joey put a hand behind his lover's head and pulled him in again for another kiss. "You don't have to worry about me straying. I'm not that kind of guy." "Even for someone younger and better looking?" Curt said it like he was joking, but Joey could see the truth in his eyes. He cupped Curt's face. "It's not possible to find someone better looking, and no matter what your age is, you keep up with me just fine." 36
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
"I'm thirty-seven. Did you know that?" Curt shook his head. "Of course you didn't. I've been too chicken to bring it up." "You're age doesn't bother me." Joey shrugged. "Besides, the younger guys I've met are only interested in getting their rocks off, and I'm hoping for more. With you," he added. The smile that Curt bestowed upon him was worth opening up. "Thank you," Curt said. **** Curt stretched out on the blanket and rubbed his stomach. "That was a damn good sandwich. Thanks." Joey put the rest of their picnic supplies away. He'd never been to River's Park, but he was impressed. "It's beautiful here," he said looking out over the Arkansas River. "Yep. It's the best thing about Tulsa in my opinion." The slope they were lying on was fairly well hidden from the walking trails and main part of the park, so Joey laid down beside Curt. "We won't get arrested for this, will we?" Curt chuckled. "You really are from a small town. Nope. In Tulsa it's not an offence to hold your lover." "It's probably not in Lymon either, but I wouldn't take the chance." He rested his head on Curt's chest, slipping his hand under the T-shirt that had worked its way loose of his lover's jeans. "I have a job interview set up for Friday. Would you mind if I stayed with you again?" "Hell no, I don't mind. Haven't you realised by now that I'm crazy about you?" 37
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Joey stretched up and kissed Curt. "Thanks, and I'm crazy about you, too." He laid back down and let his eyes drift shut. He felt completely content to do nothing but hold the man he was quickly falling for. "I should probably bring April up with me. We can always stay in a hotel." He felt Curt stiffen at the mention of April's name. "You could both stay with me. I've got a spare room for April." "Thanks. I'll ask her." He wondered if he should dig a little deeper as to why his lover tensed every time April was mentioned. "I think you'll really like her. April's very openminded." "That's good," Curt mumbled. Joey gave an inward sigh. He sure as hell hoped that he wouldn't have to choose between the two of them. "I don't want to go home," he said. "So don't," Curt said, lifting Joey up to eye level. "I can't quit my job without notice. No way would someone hire me if they saw that on my record. Besides, I have to make arrangements to get all my stuff moved." He wanted to add April into the mix, but decided not to bring her name up again. "So what's it like being an electrician?" he asked Curt. He hoped his lover took the bait and they could get back to the way things had been before he'd mentioned the job interview. "It's okay. Every day is usually different from the one before, if not by job then by location." Curt still seemed distant. "What's wrong?" he finally asked. "Nothing." 38
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
"Bullshit. Suddenly it's like you can barely bring yourself to talk to me. Would you rather I left now instead of later?" "No." Curt sat up and leaned his forearms on his bent knees. "I'm not used to missing someone. I don't like it." Curt shrugged his muscular shoulders. "Either move here as soon as possible, or I think it's best we take a break from each other." Where the fuck was this coming from? Joey rarely got pissed, but he was quickly reaching that point. He got to his feet and started picking up his stuff. He tried to tug the blanket out from under Curt, but his lover wouldn't budge. Giving up, he dropped his hold on the blanket and let the picnic basket fall to the ground. "Whatever." He started to walk away, but turned back. "You know what? You're an asshole. You know I have an interview set up. You know I'm making plans to move here, and still it's not enough. Well, fuck you." He took off at a run towards Curt's house. He knew he'd have to leave without his duffle, but some things were more important. Just then, getting away from Curt's hurtful words was worth losing a pair of expensive leather pants. By the time he made it to Curt's he was breathing heavily. He fished the keys out of his pocket and jumped into his Jetta. As he made his way to the interstate the tears began. Maybe I shouldn't have just run out like that? Curt was the best thing that had ever happened to him, but best thing or not, he refused to allow anyone to dictate ultimatums. **** 39

As soon as he rounded the corner, Curt's heart plummeted. He'd hoped Joey would be sitting on his front porch waiting to be let into the house. With Joey's pride and joy missing from the driveway, he knew his little man had flown the coop. He unlocked the door and threw himself down on the couch. Why the hell did I say those things? Sure, he hated that Joey was leaving him again, but he did know the man was trying. The whole situation reminded him too much of his relationship with Peter. Curt winced. He hadn't thought of Peter in ages. His ex-partner was exactly the reason he'd sworn to never again fall in love. Have I fallen in love with Joey? Shit. He knew as soon as he'd asked himself that he had. He began to wonder if he'd baited his lover on purpose. Maybe it was better that Joey left now, before his love grew too deep to give him up. So why do I feel like shit? He sprang up from the sofa and headed towards the shower. If he didn't have Joey to entertain, he might as well go to the Maverick. He could always use the extra cash, and just then, he could also use the diversion. **** "Man, you look terrible," April said. Joey slid into the booth. "Thanks. I knew I could count on you to make me feel better," he said drolly. "Trouble in paradise?" she asked sympathetically. 40

"We had a stupid argument. I acted my age and ran away without working things out." "Oh. Sorry." Joey shrugged. "I tried to call and apologise when I got home, but no one answered." "Did you leave a message?" "No. Eating crow to an answering machine just didn't feel right." April squeezed his hand. "Come on," she said and picked up her keys. "What? Where're we going?" Joey asked as he followed her out of the diner. "Tulsa," she said and got behind the wheel of her small pickup. "Tulsa? I can't go to Tulsa now!" April reached over and opened the passenger door. "I'm not giving you a choice. If you truly fucked up, it's best to fix it now rather than later." "What about work in the morning?" "We'll be back. It's only two hours away. Now get in before I'm forced to tell your boyfriend that you wet the bed when you were little." "I didn't wet the bed," Joey said as he got into the passenger seat. April grinned. "That's not what I'll tell him." Joey rolled his eyes and settled in. He knew there was no way he'd talk April out of making the trip. "He's probably at the Maverick. I think he was taking the evening shift." 41

The closer they got to their destination, the sicker he felt. I called him an asshole. Great. I'm sure he'll jump at the chance to forgive me. "So ... I don't suppose you're going to tell me what the fight was about," April said. "He seemed pissed that I had to go back to Lymon. Like I could just stay in Tulsa and forget all my responsibilities at home." April tapped her manicured nails on the steering wheel. "Seriously?" "Yeah, can you believe that?" Joey shook his head. "No. I mean, you seriously got pissed because the guy didn't want you to go home? I would've been jumping for joy if a guy I was crazy about couldn't bear the thought of me leaving." Joey's jaw dropped to his chest. Even though April had said basically the same thing he'd been telling himself since he'd left Tulsa, it just seemed wrong. "Hey. I thought you were supposed to be on my side." "I am on your side. I've seen you happier lately than ever before. Besides, I'm not gonna let your temper screw up my chances of moving to Tulsa," April said smugly. Once inside the Tulsa city limits, Joey gave April directions to Club Maverick. He spotted Curt's truck in the parking lot. "He's here," he said. April parked and practically pulled him out of the truck. "You can hurry and get this over with and still have an hour or two of makeup time." 42

The bar was pretty crowded for a Sunday. Joey waved to several of the regulars he'd met before as he pulled April to the bar. "Hi there," Mojo said, staring at April. "Where's Curt?" Joey asked, trying to ignore the heat simmering between his best friend and Mojo. I thought he was gay? Mojo shook his head and finally looked at Joey. "I hope he's at home sleeping off a hangover." Mojo's eyes narrowed. "I'm not sure what's gotten into the two of you, but I've never seen him like that." "Who drove him home?" Joey asked. He hated the thought of his lover leaving with someone else in that condition. "Anyone I know?" Mojo leaned his big muscled arms on the counter and moved in close to Joey's face. "If it worries you so much, why did you take off on him?" "None of your business. Just answer the question, please." Joey crossed his arms in front of his chest. He knew he didn't intimidate Mojo in the least, but it was the best he had. "Scott and Mark drove him." "Do you know how to make a strawberry daiquiri?" April asked, obviously trying to break the tension. It worked as Mojo reached out and took a long strand of April's blonde hair between his fingers. "I'll make anything you want, darlin'." Joey watched April blush and shook his head. "I'm going to Curt's. Can I take your car?" 43
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
"Sure," April said without looking at him. When she made no move to dig the keys out of her purse, Joey cleared his throat. "Oh, sorry," she said and handed him the keys. "You sure you'll be okay until I get back?" he asked April. "I'll make sure no one bothers her," Mojo answered. "Yeah, and who's gonna watch you?" Joey said with a smile. "Hopefully, this little lady," Mojo said with a wink. "I'll be fine," April said, giving Joey a push towards the door. He looked back before he opened the big red door and shook his head. Damn. April and Mojo were eating each other alive with their eyes. You could feel the heat clear across the room. He made a mental note to get the low down on Mojo. April had already had her share of worthless playboys. **** It took ten minutes of pounding on the door for Curt to finally open it. "Hey," Joey said. "Mind if I come in?" Curt pulled him inside and shut the door. "What are you doing here?" Curt asked. He held his head and it was obvious every word spoken was painful. "Well, I was back home and got a little hungry, so I thought I'd come to Tulsa to eat a big batch of crow." Curt stood open-mouthed for a few seconds before pulling Joey into his arms. "I thought I'd fucked up big time." Curt bent down and kissed him.

Without thought, Joey opened for the questing tongue of his lover. He stood on his tip-toes trying his best to save Curt's back. "Couch," he said when they parted for a breath. Curt led him to the sofa and pulled Joey down into his arms. "I'm sorry I acted like an ass. I'm scared." "Me, too," Joey answered. "But I want to move up here and see how far this relationship can go. I think it's worth it. You're worth it." Curt brushed his fingers over Joey's lips. "I'm not sure how it happened, but I've fallen in love." He started to tell Curt he felt the same way, but his lover pressed his finger across his lips, silencing his response. "I fell in love once before. I was just out of trade-school when I met Peter. He was everything I thought I wanted in a man." "What happened?" Joey asked. "I found out that the woman he claimed was his roommate was actually his wife." Shit. That's why he'd reacted so strongly to any talk of April. Joey pulled Curt down and kissed him, putting all the unspoken love he felt into it. Curt tilted Joey's head and took the kiss even deeper. He pulled out of the kiss and looked deep into his lover's golden eyes. "I can assure you that I'm one hundred percent gay. April is more like a sister than anything else. She knew I was gay before I even admitted it to myself." Curt closed his eyes. "I'm sorry. I was afraid history would repeat itself. I let my unfounded worries get the better of me." 45
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
Joey readjusted their position so he was straddling Curt's lap. "Well you've got exactly forty minutes to make it up to me before April and I have to drive back." "April?" Curt questioned. He smiled. "Yeah. She's the one who made me see what a mistake I'd made by taking off like I did. Hell, she practically forced me into her truck for the drive up." Curt chuckled. "I think I like April." That reminded him. "What's the deal with Mojo? Because I was under the impression he was gay, but when I left the bar he was devouring April with his eyes." Curt grunted. "Mojo and Jasper play with women all the time." Curt shook his head. "If you care about her you should warn her. They play, but they don't keep. If you know what I mean." Joey looked down at his hard cock. Damn. He wanted. Oh god how he wanted, but April was his best friend. "Shit," he said pounding the back of the sofa. "She'll owe me big for this one." Joey got off Curt's lap and reached out a hand. "Want a ride back to your truck?" Curt ran a hand over the front of Joey's jeans. "What about this?" He groaned and ground himself against Curt's hands. "I'm not sure that I could even come knowing Mojo might be out to use my best friend." "Oh, I bet you could," Curt answered, unfastening Joey's jeans. "I'll be quick," Curt added. The first swipe of his lover's tongue had Joey moaning. Oh, oh, yeah, this was just what he needed. "Can't wait to taste 46

you," he panted. Curt grunted but didn't remove Joey's cock from his throat. "Take your cock out so that I can see you jacking off. It'll fuel me all week." Joey placed his hands on Curt's shoulders and started a shallow thrust. Curt hummed and ran a finger down the crack of Joey's ass, stopping to press against his sensitive hole. "Shit," Joey shouted. He put a foot on the couch beside Curt's hip, opening himself further. "Yeah. Oh yeah. Fuck that hole with your finger." His hips picked up speed until he was fucking Curt's face. He felt his lover's long thick finger breach his opening. Even though it was much smaller than the plug he'd been using, it felt different, more intimate. "Not gonna last," he warned. Curt nodded his head, introducing another finger into his already overwhelmed body. "Fuck," he shouted as his cock pulsed its seed down Curt's throat. He watched between slitted eyes as Curt's cum shot from the end of his cock. The thick white fluid arched into the air before landing on Curt's tanned chest. Throughout it all, Curt never released the suction from Joey's cock. The sloppy, lapping noises his lover made kept Joey's orgasm going until he was absolutely spent. He started to sag to the ground, but Curt caught him and brought him, once again, into his arms. "I love you," Joey whispered. "It's nice to know I'm not alone, because I love you, too." They kissed and nuzzled for a few short minutes before Curt slapped him on the ass. "Let's go rescue April." 47

**** After a quick clean-up, they reached Club Maverick about fifteen minutes later. Curt placed his hand on Joey's lower back as they entered the bar. "Let me handle this," he said in Joey's ear. His lover looked up at him and nodded. He spotted Mojo immediately, forearms resting on the bar, lips attached to the voluptuous woman across from him. "Shit," he swore. From what he could see, he'd be hard-pressed to keep Mojo away from April if she lived in Tulsa. He stopped and pulled Joey into his arms. Bending, he spoke in Joey's ear again. "You should've warned me. I had no idea April was so gorgeous, and just Mojo's type." Cheek to cheek, Joey spoke into Curt's ear in return. "How the hell was I supposed to know what kind of woman Mojo went after? Hell, I thought the man was gay. Besides, April thinks she's fat, not sexy." "That woman may be carrying a few extra pounds, but they are definitely in all the right places." Joey pulled back slightly. "Do I need to worry about you going after her?" "No. I like dick, always have, always will. But I'm not blind." He decided to put an end to Mojo's fun as he watched the man in question brush his knuckles across April's breast. "Hey," Curt said. He leaned against the bar and narrowed his eyes at his old friend. Mojo removed his hand from the front of April's blouse and grinned. "Didn't expect to see you back so soon." 48
Joey's First Time by Carol Lynne
"Yeah, I can tell," Curt replied. He turned to look at April. He wasn't sure if it had been the kissing or nature that had given the woman bee-stung lips, but April was definitely breathtaking. "I'm Curt," he said extending his hand. April smiled and shook his hand. "I'm glad to finally meet you." She looked over his shoulder. "No wonder you've been so secretive about him, Joey. He's gorgeous." Joey wrapped an arm around Curt's waist. "And mine." His lover looked at his best friend for a few seconds. "Can I talk to you a sec?" "Sure," April said. She looked back at Mojo. "I'll be right back." "I'm counting on it," Mojo replied. As soon as April followed Joey outside, Curt turned towards his friend. "I won't let you make that woman a plaything. From what little Joey has told me, she's been used enough to last a lifetime." Mojo leaned further over the bar until he was almost nose to nose with Curt. "Who said I was planning to use her?" "Your track record," Curt answered. Mojo made a disgusted sound and pulled back. "Maybe I'm tired of running the race." "And maybe you're full of shit. Just know that if you hurt April, that'll hurt Joey and I'll have no choice but to hurt you." "You're treading pretty heavily on our friendship," Mojo added. "So are you." He couldn't vocalise the look on Mojo's face. As a matter of fact, he didn't know that he'd ever seen that 49

particular expression on his old friend. Instead of taking it further, he turned towards the door. "Later," he said. He found Joey and April arguing beside his lover's car. Spotting him, Joey stopped talking and gestured him over. "See if you can talk some sense into her," Joey said. April crossed her arms and tilted her chin up. "Both of you should stay out of my business. I didn't pass judgement on the two of you, so don't think you can do it to me." "It's not about judgement," Curt said. "Mojo's in love with a man, it's who he is. Yeah, he and his partner take a woman into their beds on occasion, but it doesn't mean anything beyond sex. If you continue with this you'll only be hurt." "You know what? I already know about Jasper. It's one of the first things Mo told me. So back off. What I do is my business." Even though he hated the thought of this little sprite getting hurt, Curt admired her tenacity. He secretly thought of this woman in a relationship, no matter how short lived, with his two friends. She'd sure as hell give them a run for their money. Curt turned to Joey. "I thought you said April was a sweet, quiet girl?" "She normally is," Joey fumed. "I don't know what the hell has gotten into her." April reached out and gave Joey a hug. "Look, I love you, you know that, but you've got to stay out of this. If I get hurt, it'll be my own fault. I won't even come to you for solace." Curt watched Joey's eyes shut as he hugged April even tighter. "You can always come to me, even if you are about to 50

do the stupidest thing in your life. That's what friends are for." "Thanks," April said. "I'm going in to say goodbye. Why don't the two of you do the same? We need to get back on the road." "Yes, Ma'am," Joey stepped back and saluted. April rolled her eyes and walked away. "Sorry," Curt said. "I tried." "Yeah." Joey shrugged. "At this point, all I can do is be there to help pick up the pieces." Curt pulled his lover into his arms. "Now, about that job interview..." [Back to Table of Contents]

Chapter Four It had been a rather tense week for Joey. Curt called to inform him he'd gotten his test results back and that everything looked good for their weekend. April had also told him she'd be going up to Tulsa with him but not staying at Curt's like they'd arranged. He'd tried to talk her out of her planned tryst with Mojo and Jasper, but she still wasn't budging on the issue. As he drove, he attempted to keep his mind on Curt and not the stubborn woman beside him. He was grateful Curt only had to work the Friday evening shift. That meant he'd have the man all to himself when he got there and then again on Saturday. "You're so cute," April said. "What?" he asked. April rolled her eyes and put her bare feet up on the dash. "Unlike you, I happen to think it's cute that you're so excited about your weekend." Joey reached over and threaded his fingers through April's. "It's not that I don't want you to have a nice weekend, I'm just worried." "Don't be. Even though I haven't met Jasper in person, I've talked to both of them every day." "Do you really think you can do it? Make love to two men at the same time?" April's brows shot up. "You must be joking. It's like every fantasy I've ever had. Besides, after the crap I've been 52

through, it'll take a hell of a lot more than a good lay to soften my heart." "I hope you're right." "Trust me. I know what I'm doing." Joey brought April's hand to his mouth and kissed it. "Is Mojo working this weekend?" Curt had told him that Mojo was now Maverick's official part-time bartender. Evidently, Mark and Scott had given Jim his walking papers when he returned from Vancouver. "Morgan's working all weekend, but Jasper has decided to close the antique shop so at least we'll have our days free." "Morgan?" "That's Mojo's real name. Morgan Jones. I like it a lot better." Joey tried to picture the larger than life man with a name like Morgan. No wonder he picked up the nickname somewhere along the way. "I'll see you for one evening at least." As they drove into Tulsa, he patted April's leg. "So, do I drop you at the club or somewhere else?" "The Maverick. Jasper is coming over after he closes the shop." Joey bit his lip as he pulled into the Maverick's parking lot. April leaned over the console and kissed his cheek. "Don't worry. I'll be fine." He nodded and popped the trunk. He watched in his rear view mirror as she lifted the small weekend bag out of the back. "Please be careful," he whispered. 53

He watched until April disappeared behind the red door before pulling out of the parking lot. He picked up his cell phone and called Curt to let him know he was minutes away. "Hello?" Joey felt warmed by his lover's deep soothing voice. "I just dropped April off and I'm on my way." "Good. The front door's unlocked. I'll be up in my bedroom preparing my cock to take that sweet ass I've been dying for." Joey groaned and shifted in his seat. "Stop. I've had enough trouble keeping my cock in check with this damn plug shoved up my ass. I still can't believe you'd insist on torturing me like this." "I just want you nice and loose by the time you walk through my door." Curt's breath hitched and Joey chuckled. "Are you playing with yourself?" "Uh huh." "Can I watch?" Geeze, he couldn't believe he'd asked that. He was turning into a real horn dog. "Maybe sometime, but I have other plans at the moment." Joey pulled into Curt's driveway. He didn't bother with his bag. He was too excited about catching his man with that big fat cock in his hand. "What kind of plans?" he asked as he quietly crept up the stairs. "Gonna stick my tongue in that pretty stretched hole of yours. I wanna taste everything you've got. Then I'm gonna stick my cock in your ass and ride you until you're bruised and sore." 54

Joey leaned against the opened door and watched his man. Yeah, that's my man, and I'll be damned if anything, or anyone will ever come between us. When Curt ran his thumb over the head of his cock and stuck it in his mouth, Joey couldn't help but to moan. Curt's head shot up from the pillow and closed the phone. "Get that ass over here," he commanded. Joey's clothes were stripped and lying on the floor within seconds. He straddled Curt's feet and slowly crawled up the length of his body, stopping to get a taste of that dripping cock. He quickly discovered one taste wasn't enough and lapped at the bulbous head. "Need it," he groaned. "Later," Curt said and pulled him up into his arms. "Let me see." Joey knew exactly what Curt was asking for. Kneeling, he turned around and presented his stuffed hole to his lover's gaze. "Damn." Curt jostled the silicone plug before pulling it out. "As much as I enjoy the sight of this, I've something else in mind." Curt repositioned Joey until they were in a classic sixtynine position. Instead of sucking his cock though, Curt rimmed Joey's ass with his tongue. He felt gooseflesh break out over his skin as he bent to take Curt's cock back into his mouth. His back involuntarily bowed as he felt his lover's tongue fucking him. "Oh god," he mumbled around the cock head in his mouth. "It's time," Curt said and slapped Joey's ass. 55

Joey looked over his shoulder and grinned. "How do you want me?" "Under me. I want to look into your eyes." The first prod of Curt's cock against his stretched hole sent shivers up his spine. "I'm gonna die," he moaned. "Oh, you're definitely going to heaven, but you won't have to die to get there," Curt said and pushed slowly inside. Joey felt the invasion and was glad he'd been practicing. "I'll have to get a bigger plug," he panted, unable to catch his breath. The burn he'd read about was definitely there, but he knew it wouldn't last long. Once his lover's cock was fully seated within him, Joey put a hand to Curt's chest. "Give me a sec." Curt kissed him until the pain stopped. "Now," he croaked. Curt pulled out slowly before plunging back in again. "Yeah. Christ," Curt grunted. After a few moments, Curt's rhythm picked up as Joey wrapped his legs higher on his lover's torso. "More, please, give me more." It was like setting a lion free. Curt made a sound that was a cross between a growl and a moan and sat back on his knees, taking Joey with him. He watched in awe as Curt's hips pistoned back and forth, charging and retreating. Joey reached down to feel the point of entry. He couldn't believe his body was so stretched. "Amazing." "If you can talk, I'm not doing something right." Lifting Joey's legs over his shoulders, Curt gave him all that he had. Joey knew at that moment, he'd never want 56

another man between his legs. Curt was it for him, for better or worse. "Touch yourself," Curt said. "Finally." Joey wrapped his fingers around his leaking cock and tried his best to match Curt's already established rhythm. "Gonna," he called out. "Now, give it to me," Curt shouted as he buried himself as deep as possible. Joey clung to his lover as his climax ripped through him, spraying not only him but Curt as well. Curt collapsed on top of him. Dripping with sweat, his love continued to jerk for several moments as he filled Joey with his seed. "I love you," Curt whispered. "I'm glad I waited. This way you'll not only be my first, but my last as well," Joey whispered back. "From your lips to God's ears." [Back to Table of Contents]
