THE POWERONE INTERVIEW
Powerone has so kindly agreed to answer some questions for everyone to read. We hope you enjoy learning more about him. Tell us about you: Question: First tell us something about yourself, like name, age, and some other things we would like to know about you...Let’s call it a short bio. Powerone: I don’t give much of a physical description of myself. I like the reader to conjure up their own image of what they want me too look like or be like. Question: What are you wearing right now? Powerone: I live at the beach in San Diego so you can be reasonably assured that I am in shorts. Question: Does your spouse or significant other know you write, and if so, what does he/she think? Powerone: Everyone knows I write since I do it professionally now. Some people give me strange looks when I tell them I write erotica and I have had people move away from me when I tell them that as if I was about to pounce on them. Question: Is it difficult for you to keep your writing life separate from your professional life? Powerone: I have been writing for about six years. Last year I wrote part time and had another professional life full time. Starting this year I switched, with writing full time and my other professional life down to two days a week. Question: How did you come up with your ES nickname? Powerone: Boy, that was a long time ago. If you read my stories, I write stories where the female is submissive to the male. I think I set back “women’s liberation” back at least fifty years. I had written my first story during Christmas vacation in 2001. I was anxious to publish it so I called myself Powerone. I still like the name, but when you Google it, there are a long list of big companies with the name “Powerone” in it, mainly selling software and back-up storage devices. Question: What brought you to EroticStories.com? What made you want to stay and become a part of it? Powerone: EroticStories.com was one of the first websites I posted to. I love the tools they have in evaluating a story. Most tell you how many views, but EroticStories.com also has how many clicked again after the opening part of the story to read the rest of the story. This is the true reader. They read the beginning and now they want to read the rest. Most just tell you how many click the first line. You have no way of knowing if they read past the first paragraph. I’ve seen stories on some websites that have a high number of views but it is because they have an interesting title and synopsis. Many are terrible after you start reading. And most fans don’t realize it, but each writer gets a chance to win $100.00 cash each month. You get a “ticket” for each story you post, depending on word length, etc. Actually I won it last year after 6 years of entering. Question: What is your favorite part of your body? Why?
Powerone: You have to ask an erotic writer that question. Of course it is my imagination. I like to think that I “give great word”. Question: If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be and why? Powerone: You know there is really nothing I would like to change. Since I started writing full time I sit on my patio each day at the beach, watch the lovely girls go by with little clothing on and write such naughty things I would do to their lovely bodies. Question: Boxers v Briefs? / Panties v Thong? Powerone: Briefs and Panties. Writing Habits: Question: What do you like the most about writing erotic stories? Powerone: It is such a rush when you finish a novel and re-read it again. It always amazes me that I actually wrote it. Question: How long have you been writing now? How did it all get started and what made you write your first story? Powerone: I started in December of 2001. I always loved the written erotica versus video. I love the older erotica from the 1950’s (I wrote a couple of ones like that time period). I just decided to try writing one myself. My first one was widely accepted so I just continued to write. Question: What categories are most of your stories in? What kind would you never write? Powerone: I’m known for BDSM. I’ve never written snuff (though one story got close). Question: Which of your stories is your personal favorite, the one you enjoyed writing the most, and/or the one holds the best memories or feelings for you? Powerone: Actually it is my latest novel called “Bound For Her Husbands Pleasure”. It is my first foray into romance novels and I am hoping that it will be accepted by Ellorsacave.com. Question: Have you ever gotten so turned on while writing that you had to stop to masturbate? What story was it? Powerone: All of them. I find that I write better when sexually stimulated. If you look at my website, I am always advertising for a girl. She sits under my desk and her job is to keep me stimulated without making me have an orgasm. I’m a great employer, I provide the pillow for her. Question: Do you write from fantasy or true stories or a combination of both? Please explain or give an example. Powerone: I do both. I have written rape and incest stories, though I don’t rape or molest my kids. But a lot of the BDSM is true. As I said, I would set back women’s liberation back fifty years. You can ask my three ex-wives. Question: Are the characters in your story based on real people, did you make them up, or are they a combination of both?
Powerone: If you look at many of my stories and the majority of my novels, the main male character is Michael. Many of the female characters are readers that have intrigued me. Some only with their name, others with their personalities. Question: What parts of "Yourself" do you put into your characters? Powerone: As I said above, I am Michael. That is the best part of being the author, you can do anything you want. Question: : If there was one trait you could take from one of your characters in your stories, and put it in place in your real life, what would it be and why? Powerone: I do the opposite, I take my real life and put it in my character. Question: How long does it take for you to write a complete story? How does the process go? Powerone: I am a very prolific writer. I can write over 5,000 words in one day. I always tended to write novels, I just posted them one chapter at a time. One chapter for me runs about 10,000 words, a novel about 65,000 words. I tend to have two novels and at least one story going on at the same time. I write what my sexual urge happens to be so that is why I am writing multiple stories. Otherwise I would end up not writing some days. Question: How do you come up with your story titles? Powerone: My titles are usually what I have before the story is even started, though it may change as I go along Question: What is the hardest part of writing a story? Powerone: I don’t have a hard part of writing a story. It just seems to flow out of me. Question: Have you ever done research for a part of a story you didn’t have any knowledge about or maybe for a sex scene? Powerone: I always do research. I think I know more about women’s fashions, different time periods and I am an ardent voyeur, watching the half naked girls at the beach when they move. You have to be able to describe the females in your stories as they move, do things, etc. Question: Do you have any secret stories you don’t want to publish for the public? Do you publish your stories on other sites besides EroticStories.com and if so, why? Have you ever been published on paper? Powerone: I have always published all of my stories. It would be a sin to write a story and not let others read it. I publish on about seven other websites. I also have my own website, Poweronestories.com and also my own blog. I have not published on paper, but have published e-books. I have published five novels for Renaissance e-books.com and three novels for a1adultebooks.com. I also have a new romance novel submitted to ellorascave.com (my romance novel). My books can be found on Amazon.com, Borders.com, Fictionwise.com and about twenty other e-book websites. All of my novels have been #1 bestselling novels. Question: When you receive negative comments do you just ignore them, build from them, or let it put a negative image over the story itself, and let it hinder your writing? Powerone: It depends on the comments. Some I take to heart, others I just ignore. The more famous I have become, the less negative comments I receive. I am always looking for constructive criticism.
Reading Habits: Question: Do you also enjoy reading erotic stories? Which categories do you enjoy the most? Do you like true stories or fantasies? Powerone: I read a lot of erotic stories. I tend to like what I write, BDMS, rape, incest, all the type of stories where the female is submissive. Question: Do you vote on other author's stories? How do you decide what score to give when you do? Powerone: I do vote on other authors stories. I know what makes a good story so I tend to vote on whether they fulfill the requirements. Question: Do you send other author’s comments or feedback on their stories? Powerone: I don’t send other author comments for feedback on their stories. I tend to communicate more with other authors in author groups or forums where specific stories are not commented on, more technique. Question: Do you have a favorite author on ES? What makes them your favorite? Powerone: I enjoyed Colleen Thomas’s works, and was saddened by her death. I enjoy Jennifer O’Donnell and Sweetsubsarahh. I tend to like to read what the character is feeling and thinking, not just what they are doing. Question: When you read a story do you: A. Touch yourself and come around the same time one of the characters do? B. Touch yourself but wait for the end to come? C. Touch yourself but wait until after you finish the story to come, such as after going to bed? D. Not touch yourself until you are finished and then continue thinking about the story and come? E. Any other variation you may do? (Please tell us what it is) Powerone: As I mentioned, I have the girl under the desk (since I do type fast, but I use two hands) but do not cum until I am finished writing. I tend to be most prolific in the morning, usually waking up hard. Sex Habits: Question: Do you enjoy the visual side of erotica, as in porn movies or pictures? If so, do you have any favorites? Powerone: I do enjoy the visual side. I get a lot of reader pictures. If you ever want a story written by me about you, just send me a naked picture, LOL. I like porn, but tend towards Japanese porn. US porn looks so much like hookers. I like the submission more then the sex acts. Question: Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw? Tell us about it? Powerone: In fact I still have it. I stole it from my Father. I only have one of the pictures, but it is a girl taking off her clothes by a water fall. There was about fifteen of them, I took one (I never got caught). Now this picture was from the 1950’s. She had such a look of humiliation on her face as though she hated doing it. Question: Have you ever participated in erotic photography? If so, please tell us about it. If not, would you rather be the photographed or the photographer? Powerone: Never did, but would love to be the photographer. As I said, I love submissive woman and nothing is more submissive then posing for a photographer, him telling you how to pose your naked body.
Question: What do you wear to bed? Powerone: Nothing. Question: Do your sex life and writing have any correlation with each other?? Powerone: Not much, though I do try many things out in real life that I need to write about. Question: How would you rate your willingness to try new things in bed? Powerone: I’ll try anything twice. The first time might just have been a bummer, so you have to do it a second time to be sure. Question: What’s the kinkiest thing you have done in your life? Powerone: For someone into BDSM, I’m not sure there is much that isn’t kinky. Question: Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfil? Powerone: Most of them would be against the law Question: What is your opinion about sex toys? Do you have any toys yourself and if so, do you like to use them? Powerone: Love them. And it’s not just the toys. I get hard walking into Home Depot. I have a wonderful imagination and love the plumbing department and tools. Question: What do you think about solo sex? Powerone: Love it, but also nice to bring a friend to watch. Question: What are your favourite; and least favourite positions? Powerone: The girl bound and spread. Missionary position for the least favorite. Question: Do you believe in one night stands? Powerone: After three wives, of course. Question: What makes someone sexy to you? Powerone: Their mind. I love a girl with a deliciously sexy mind. Question: What is a major turn on for you during sex? Powerone: Submission. Question: What is a major turn off for you during sex? Powerone: Nothing turns me off. Question: Sex-talk. Do you like or dislike talking during sex? Powerone: Love to talk. Question: In bed or on the kitchen table?
Powerone: Where is the rope? Question: What is your favourite or most memorable moment in bed? Powerone: Female spread eagle, tied to the four corners of the bed, my cock in her mouth while I eat her pussy. And Last but not least... Question: You are #23 on the “Top 100 favourite authors” list. How does it feel to know you have 146 people that have favorited you? ** Powerone: I love being famous and people want to read my stories. I guess that is what makes writing satisfying (the money isn’t bad either). And I love the e-mails (I noticed that females tend to write to male writers and males tend to write to females). And I’m 22 with 147 people as of today, LOL. Question: Is there anybody on this site, who you would like to see interviewed? Why? Powerone: Sweetsubsarahh. I would love to hear what is in her head. Question: Do you notice any differences between the "younger" writers on here, and between the "older writers" of this site? Powerone: You find some of the new writers not understanding what erotica is. They tend to write “porn”. I always like to say erotica is just porn wrapped in good fiction. Question: Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance... Powerone: I want to thank the many readers that have read my stories over the years and gave me the encouragement to continue writing. Erotica is a difficult field to make money from and most of the writers tend to be women. If you read my stories, I tend to write oddly, giving the perspective from both the female and the male reader, a style that is unique. I like to get into the head of both of the main characters and tell you what they are experiencing. ** Please note the statistics noted were current at the time of this interview was done in May. Statistics can change daily, even hourly, so these may not be the exact numbers that you will find on the site when you read this interview. -------Thank you Powerone for honoring us with your answers to my many questions. Be sure to take a moment or two and send him a message to thank you and let him know what you thought of his interview. Thanks for reading!
