Processor of the Year The North American cheese and dairy division of Kraft Foods took bold steps and placed big bets on new foods and manufacturing processes. It developed new products around popular brands like Philadelphia and Velveeta. Kraft is creating new foods, like dairy-based Milk and Granola bars. The company also is reducing the amount of energy and water used in processing and leading the dairy industry in research into sodium reduction. For these reasons and more, Dairy Foods names Kraft Foods North America the 2011 Processor of the Year. p. 34 On our cover: George Zoghbi is president of Kraft Foods’ North American cheese and dairy division, based in Glenview, Ill.
