Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton
Chapter One Carmen Fernandez stared in wide‐eyed wonder at the front of the red brick mansion. Her best friend, Olivia Montgomery, had told her all about Incognito, but she never thought she’d actually go there herself. “We’re lucky it’s a special occasion tonight,” one of Olivia’s husbands said as he took her arm and guided her up the wide stairs to the front door. “Her eyes are as big as saucers. Imagine what she’d do if she saw the club in full sex mode,” the other one said. She didn’t know how Olivia told them apart since the men were identical twins. Olivia laughed and squeezed her hand. “It’s okay, Car. Sometimes it can be a shock to your sensibilities, so I understand why it’s difficult to not stare. But don’t worry. Just think... You’ll get to meet a lot of the people I’ve told you about.” It wasn’t the idea of a fetish club that made her stare. The building itself held her enthralled. She loved old architecture and, living on the west coast her entire life, she’d never really seen any. Two tuxedo‐clad gentlemen opened the double doors, bowed low, and greeted Dylan and Ryan by name. Carmen craned her neck to watch the big black‐haired one. Damn, he was good looking. Olivia thought this place would shock her? Not hardly. If sweet Olivia knew some of the things she’d seen—and done—over the years of living and working at the Rosemont... Well, Olivia had been the

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton levelheaded one, and rather naïve in many ways, until she met the Montgomery brothers. “Good evening, Dylan. Ryan. This would be your guest for the evening?” Carmen looked up into the forest green eyes of another attractive man. Wow, the thought of moving to Florida became more appealing by the second. “Yes,” one of the Montgomerys said, “Master Dalton, meet Carmen, one of Olivia’s dear friends. Carmen, this is Master Dalton, our host for the evening.” She held out her hand to him. “Pleasure’s mine,” she said with a cheeky grin. Master Dalton chuckled and raised an eyebrow at the brothers. “No shrinking violet, this one.” He raised her hand to his lips and kissed the back of her fingers. Dios mio. She thought she just might swoon. No man had ever done that before. “Welcome to Incognito.” She sighed. Even his voice was beyond sexy. Olivia elbowed her in the side. “He’s taken,” she whispered. One of the Montgomerys cleared his throat. Master Dalton grinned. “Alas, I am. My fiancée, Mistress Katriona, is making the final preparations for the auction, but I’ll be sure to introduce you later.” Damn, Carmen thought. Well, if the two guys outside the door were any indication, there was plenty of eye candy to go around in this place. “Thanks.” “Fiancée?” Olivia blurted out. Surprisingly, neither of her husbands said a thing to her about it, although one pinched her butt, which made her yelp. The other brother asked, “When did that happen?” Dalton flashed a wide grin. “Tonight.” “Congratulations!” the brothers said simultaneously, extending

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton hands. Olivia kept silent and still, so Carmen thought it best to do the same. “Thank you.” Dalton shook their proffered hands. Then, with a glance over his shoulder, he called out, “Slave!” Ohh. Oh dear. Oh wow. He’s hot. Dark chocolate brown hair fell to his collar. Almost as tall as Master Dalton, the slave towered over her diminutive five‐three height. Even wearing Olivia’s borrowed stilettos, she felt tiny surrounded by these big, strong men. She’d always had a thing for men in tuxedos, and she was definitely getting hot and bothered. The slave went down on one knee in front of Dalton and bowed his head. “Master Dalton?” “Carl, please take the Montgomerys and their guest to their table.” Her mouth fell open. Olivia had told her about this guy! She said Carl wore chains, though, not a tux. Now, she’d really like to see this wide‐shouldered stud in nothing but chains. “Yes, sir.” Carl stood but never raised his gaze from the floor. Carmen squeezed Olivia’s hand. This was so exciting! She was glad she’d come a day early. Not only did she get to spend a few extra hours with her best friend before Olivia and her husbands flitted off to Spain on holiday, but she also got to attend a charity auction at Incognito, the private, for‐members‐only club. Carl led them through a cavernous room. Tables, set formally with white linens and crystal glasses, were arranged in a semi‐circle around a low stage upon which sat a podium. People greeted the Montgomerys like old friends as they made their way across the room, and the brothers paused to shake hands. All the while, Olivia stood meekly, holding her hand. Carmen didn’t get Olivia. Her friend had told her enough about the lifestyle, as they called it, to know she was a 24/7 submissive. She lived her life to serve her husbands. Which was cool with Carmen, but she’d never be able to do that. She’d had enough boyfriends in the past who thought she was there to service them.
7
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton A little pang of hurt went through her when the image of the last man she had thought cared for her came to mind. Bastard. Talk about the ultimate service. She glanced at Olivia, saw her little smile, and then turned toward her friend’s husbands. She might have to be submissive and say “yes, sir,” all the time, but they treated her like a queen. She was happy, and the brothers loved her with all their hearts. So much so, she could see it in their eyes whenever they looked at Olivia. Oh, to be loved like that. “Allow me, Mistress.” Carmen jumped at the voice close to her ear and turned to see Carl right beside her, holding his hand out toward a chair at the table directly in front of the stage. His gaze was downcast, but since she was so much shorter than he was, she got a glimpse of bright hazel with flecks of gold. Carl held her seat for her as she sat, while Dylan—or was that Ryan?—did the same for Olivia. “Thank you...Carl,” she said when she thought to speak. Mistress? Had he really called her Mistress? “May I fetch you a drink, Mistress?” Carl asked. His voice was low and smooth. Like black velvet. Her nipples beaded against the front of her borrowed dress. She cast a questioning look across the table. On the ride to the club, Olivia’s husbands had laid down ground rules about decorum, but she had no idea if she was supposed to order her own drink or not. “Thank you, Carl,” one of the Montgomerys said. “We’ll order in a few minutes.” She sighed in relief. She truly didn’t want to do anything wrong tonight and make her friend and the husbands look bad. This was their special place. Carl nodded toward the brothers then executed a deep bow in front of her. “I am at your service.” Then he turned and left. A frisson of excitement went through her. Leaning over to whisper in Olivia’s ear, she said, “I think I could get used to this.” One of the brothers sat down next to her. “All right, Carmen,

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton change of rules. You broke the first one by looking Master Dalton directly in the eye. You’re too brazen for your own good.” He said the words with humor and a wink, but she still cringed. “Sorry.” He chuckled. “That’s okay. This just means that you’re seen as a Domme, so a lot of the rules we stated in the car do not apply to you.” “What Dylan is trying to say is that you’re free to mingle with other patrons and not worry about breaking decorum.” Ryan leaned around Olivia to look at her. “You may look men and women directly in the eye, but be careful. Some strays might take that as invitation.” She grinned. “Like Carl?” “Ah, no,” Dylan said. “Carl belongs to Mistress Katriona.” “Belongs? Like Olivia belongs to you?” Olivia shook her head. “Permission to speak?” “Granted,” Ryan said. “Carl is Katriona’s slave. That involves more subjugation than what I do as a pet...more confinement and things like that. Like any sub, though, he does everything she orders, no questions asked. He’s kind of a fixture around here, just like Kat is.” “Uh...” Carmen frowned. “I thought Dalton and Katriona...” Olivia nodded. “That too. See... Dalton is a Dom, and Katriona is a Domme. It’s very unusual for two dominant personalities to pair off, but they’ve been together since he came to town a few months ago.” “And Katriona and Carl have been together for as long as we’ve known them,” Ryan added. “So, she has sex with them two, the way you guys...?” Dylan chuckled again. “That, dear, is none of our business.” Her cheeks warmed with embarrassment, and she ducked her head. There were a lot of things that probably weren’t her business that she knew. And she was sure Olivia would skin her alive if she blabbed about some of their late‐night phone conversations when they were both feeling lonely for their best friend. “It is all right to ask,” Ryan said, “because we’re friends. But what

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton goes on behind closed doors, especially in a place like this, is often better left behind those closed doors. Each couple, triad, group, has their own tastes and desires. There are things that would make the general public uncomfortable. That’s why Incognito exists. It’s a place where people like us come to...” He grinned at his brother. “...unleash our desires.” A thousand questions zoomed through her head, and she had a lot to ask Olivia about later. How weird did these people get? Were Dylan and Ryan freaks in the bedroom? Olivia admitted they liked to tie her up and blindfold her.... Did it go beyond that? “What would you like to drink, mi gatita?” Dylan asked Olivia. “White wine,” she answered. “Thank you, Master.” Dylan kissed her lips so tenderly it made Carmen’s heart hurt. “And you, Carmen?” Ryan asked. “Same as Liv. Thanks.” Ryan nodded, and then the men stood. Before they walked off, Ryan leaned over, kissed Olivia’s shoulder, and whispered something that made Olivia giggle. “I’m so jealous,” Carmen admitted after the brothers headed toward the bar. Olivia laid her hand on Carmen’s arm. “You’ll find what you need someday. I’m sure of it.” Carmen snorted. She wasn’t so sure. She’d come to Florida to housesit for her friends, but they didn’t know the whole story. After the fiasco with her last boyfriend, and the ensuing scandal that followed, she hoped she never had to go back to California, and she’d given up on ever reaching any kind of happily ever after. “Can’t I just use one of yours?” she teased. “It’s so unfair you get both of them.” Olivia laughed. “No way. Sorry, hon. I love you like a sister, but these brothers are mine.” * * * * *

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Carl Thompson stood in the shadows near the bar and watched the beautiful creature seated with the Montgomerys. She had flawless skin, sultry features, and the long, dark hair of a Latino, with just a hint of auburn highlights to attract a man’s eye. Short and stacked, her curves nearly made his mouth water. The dress she wore, though stylish, had obviously been made for a much thinner woman. Tonight’s black‐tie affair was proving to be a success in more ways than one. Each guest had received a hand‐delivered invitation. The dinner ran a hundred a plate. The auction items would bring in thousands for the Southern Florida Battered Women’s Shelter. This was a special night for Kat and Dalton—the night they’d announce Dalton’s co‐ownership of the club—and they didn’t want anything to go wrong. No uninvited guests were to be allowed in the club tonight. But Dalton had told him the Montgomerys were bringing someone extra. Special dispensation for them because Olivia’s friend had surprised them by arriving a day early. If Dylan and Ryan hadn’t been such good clients and close friends of Kat’s, the woman wouldn’t have been allowed in. And what a shame that would have been. “I wish Kat drank.” Carl turned to see Dalton down a shot of scotch. Dalton’s attention was on Kat, who had taken up her post at the doors to the front foyer. “She’s as nervous as a cat in a house of rocking chairs.” Carl snickered. “I can’t believe you got her to wear it. Subtle...and not made of leather, but you actually collared her.” Dalton’s grin was full of male pride and arrogance. “You owe me that fifty bucks.” Carl nodded. “How about we go double or nothing?” “What do you have in mind?” “Stake your claim on her...on stage...tonight. No more hiding, and I’ll owe ya a hundred. Maybe I’ll even throw another hundred in the kitty for the shelter.” Dalton clapped him on the shoulder, his expression leaving no doubt that he intended to win the bet. “Sounds good, buddy. Now, let’s
11
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton go save Kat from herself. You ready to introduce her?” “I’m ready. You go get her calmed down so she can speak.” Carl turned toward the stage while Dalton headed across the floor toward Kat. He was so happy for Kat. They’d been friends forever, it seemed, and he’d never seen her happier than she was with Dalton. Tonight was their big night. Bigger than just the first of what he was sure would be many fundraising auctions. He hopped up on the stage and strode to the podium. When he cleared his throat, the attendees grew quiet. Facing the members of Incognito like this, looking them in the eyes, was different for him. He’d lived as Kat’s slave for so long, barely being seen most of the time, that he felt a little out of sorts standing up here in front of them. “Good evening,” he began. From the front table nearest the stage, Carmen could do nothing but stare at Cute Carl up there on the stage, the spotlight making his hair look as if it were shot through with spun copper. He was so big, so wide‐ shouldered, so... “I think you’re drooling,” Olivia whispered in her ear. “He’s taken, but did you see the guys at that table over there?” She tapped Carmen’s shoulder and, when she turned her head to see what Olivia was pointing at, she saw a table of five men. Most handsome to be sure, but none of them looked like Carl. “I like that one,” she whispered back, tipping her head toward the stage in reference to Carl. She didn’t care if he was taken. Well, she did, but she could still look, couldn’t she? Olivia grinned and shook her head. “You’re hopeless.” With a sigh, Carmen nodded. “I know.” She always seemed to be attracted to the wrong guy, the unavailable guy. “And now, please welcome a woman we all know well,” Carl said from the podium set center stage. “Mistress Katriona.” A woman she hadn’t yet met went up on the stage. Wow. She was breathtaking. Plump red lips and dark, exotic eyes. Long black hair in huge ringlet curls. A slinky, silky black dress that revealed more than it

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton hid. No wonder she had two handsome men. A twinge of jealousy struck Carmen in the chest. She figured even she could get two men if she looked like that. Carl went offstage and disappeared into the shadows. Damn. Carmen sipped her wine and tried to pay attention to Katriona, but her gaze, and her mind, wandered around the room. It wasn’t difficult to see who belonged to whom. Most people sat in twos or threes. There were women with posture and somewhat lowered eyes such as Olivia. Others looked more confident, in control. Other Dommes? She almost giggled at her thought. She was a Domme. Through her conversations with Olivia, she’d gotten a grip on the lingo those in the lifestyle used. She always pictured Dommes to be these big, bad bitches. Not a short, round girl. Her attention landed on a table of women next to the table of men. She frowned. Singles? Strays? She wondered who was dominant and who was submissive in the groupings. It was difficult to tell since they were all dressed similarly. “Stop staring,” Olivia chided in a sharp whisper. “You’re going to get us in trouble.” “I thought I was allowed to make eye contact since I’m not like you.” Olivia frowned at her, and she grinned. She might be submissive, but Olivia still had a look that could make a grown man quake in his boots. “Okay, okay,” Carmen said as she turned back around and faced forward, just in time to see Dalton jump up on the stage and grab Katriona, bend her over his arm, and kiss her as if they were alone. “Let’s hear it for the man who collared Mistress Katriona!” That came from the shadows and sounded like Carl. The audience burst into applause, including Olivia and the brothers. Jeesh, she thought as she clapped since everyone else was. Carl let

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton some other guy kiss his woman? Dalton let Carl kiss her? All too weird. She could somewhat understand Olivia’s husbands. They were brothers. Twins. Probably shared everything all their lives. But two men who were obviously so different? Dalton let Katriona stand up straight, and then she left the stage. Dalton started speaking. Off to the side of the stage, Carmen saw Katriona hug Carl. Oh, that was just too weird. But she couldn’t tear her gaze away. Would they kiss the way she and Dalton had? They moved deeper into the shadows, and Carmen couldn’t see them anymore. She frowned and took another drink of her wine. Ryan reached over and refilled the glass for her. She smiled her thanks, and he winked at her. She settled into the chair and halfheartedly listened to Dalton thank all of the contributors to the auction. She heard the Montgomerys’ name, and she looked at Olivia. “A week‐long getaway to our villa in the Napa Valley,” Olivia whispered. “The money’s for a good cause and considered tax deductible.” “Ah. Okay.” Nice. She’d spent time at the villa on the rare occasion that Olivia came out to the Pacific coast with the brothers. It was a good thing she loved Olivia so much, or the jealousy would probably kill her.

Chapter Two The soup had been some weird, cold cucumber thing, but the fillet mignon had been melt‐in‐the‐mouth scrumptious. And now...chocolate, raspberry cheesecake. The dress she’d borrowed from Olivia had been tight before. Now she worried that it would rip when she tried to move. The waiter drizzled hot fudge sauce over the cake before moving on. Oh, goodness. She grinned at Olivia. Dalton took his place at the podium again. “While you enjoy dessert, we’re going to move on to our final items up for bid.” Carmen sliced a tiny bite with her fork. She was eager to get her tour of the club. She wanted to see the private voyeur rooms Olivia had told her about. The auction had been rather boring. Expensive artwork, vacation packages, some jewelry and such. Spa packages, massages... She wasn’t sure what she’d expected from a charity auction at Incognito, but she’d thought it would have been a little more exciting. “All right, ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got something special for you to wind up the evening.” Two spotlights came on to Dalton’s left, illuminating two men. One of them was Carl. Carmen slid the delectable dessert between her lips, her focus on the stage and Carl. “Katriona,” Dalton said. “If you will?” Katriona stepped up on the stage and took the microphone from its stand. Dalton lifted the podium and moved it off to the side.
15
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “I’ve been waiting for this moment all night,” Katriona said then gave a husky, sexy laugh. “I encourage you all to bid until it hurts. The Southern Florida Women’s Shelter needs your help.” The man next to Carl with dark hair and eyes was a little younger than Carl. Most men would look good in tuxedos, but these two were hot as hell in black. Their mannerisms were very different, though. Carl’s expression was impassive, his gaze focused on the floor, not the audience like the other guy. Carl stood with his hands behind him, where the other one... He looked rather cocky and sure of himself, hands in pockets of his slacks. “You know these men well,” Katriona went on to say. “They’ve been a fixture of Incognito for years. And tonight you’ll have the chance to bid on them and the luxurious packages they’ve donated.” Katriona lifted an index card and began reading. “The lucky person who purchases Master Bastian will get a weekend with him on his yacht. Our resident bad boy will...” Katriona looked up at Bastian and raised an eyebrow. The man grinned and began unbuttoning his tuxedo shirt. “Well,” Katriona said. “The lucky person who wins Bastian will no doubt have one memorable weekend on his yacht.” A rumble of laughter and chuckles went through the crowd. Bastian continued to undo his shirt, then slipped it from his slacks and slid it off his shoulders. Oh, wow. Cocky or not, the man looked good enough to eat. Dalton stepped back onto the stage. “Shall we start the bidding at five hundred?” he asked, using another microphone. “The things on this card that I can mention,” Kat said around the bids being placed and Dalton calling out continually growing numbers, “is that you will be anchored in a cove of an island that Bastian owns, fifty miles off the coast. Swimming in a fresh‐water lagoon before breakfast, meals prepared by an award‐winning chef, and...ahem...I really can’t mention anything else. Let’s just say it involves champagne, chocolate‐ dipped strawberries, and starlight.” Bastian unbuttoned his pants and, with a mischievous smile, slowly
16
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton lowered the zipper. Was he going to strip totally? Carmen glanced at Olivia, who was watching the striptease with a sly little curve to her lips. Dylan leaned over and whispered something in her ear. She nodded, licked her lips, then chuckled. Carmen zeroed back in on the man on stage. His pants were still up. Barely. The bidding had been fast and furious, but it was slowing, the number near five thousand. Damn, these people had way too much money. Then again...a weekend on a yacht with gourmet meals? Champagne and strawberries? “Sold to the Cavanaugh sisters,” Dalton said with a grin. “Thank you, ladies.” Carmen turned toward the table surrounded by single women. Two were grinning like fools, and she guessed they must be the Cavanaugh sisters. Oh boy. What she wouldn’t give to be a fly on that boat. She giggled and turned back to the stage. Bastian was buttoning his shirt. What a shame. “I’ve saved the best for last,” Katriona said with a wicked chuckle. “No offense, Bastian.” “None taken, Kat,” Bastian said as he tucked in his shirt and sent her a wink. “Carl. Come here.” Carl stepped forward and bowed low in Katriona’s direction. “Strip, slave.” Without one bit of hesitation, Carl slipped off his tuxedo jacket. Dalton took it from him. Then off came the shirt. He shucked his shoes and socks, then dropped his pants. Carmen’s breath sucked in and lodged in her throat. Holy... He was gorgeous! His skin was lightly tanned. A swirl of dark hair on his chest narrowed into the waistband of the tightest pair of spandex shorts that showed off one hell of a nice package. “As you can see, ladies, Carl knows how to take directions.”
17
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton There were murmurs of approval from a few of the tables nearby. “Your weekend getaway with him is right here on Incognito grounds. Two nights in the newly refurbished caretaker’s cottage. A private patio overlooking the ocean where Carl will serve breakfast as you watch the sunrise. He may not have won any culinary awards, but be assured that you won’t be disappointed in his homemade waffles...and whipped cream.” Because she was watching so closely, Carmen saw Carl’s lips twitch ever so slightly, as if he was trying to keep in a grin. “After you’ve relaxed in the private Jacuzzi, Carl will give you a full‐body massage that will make you melt.” Katriona ran her finger down the center of Carl’s chest. “Turn around, slave.” Carl turned. Dalton handed Katriona a riding crop, which she smacked right across Carl’s tight, round ass cheeks. Carmen’s face flushed, and she nearly gasped at the spear of lust that went through her. Dios mio, what was wrong with her? She wanted to taste him. Lick him. Suck the tight, tan skin stretched over those beautiful muscles. “Shall we start the bidding at five hundred?” Dalton asked. The price rose quickly as Katriona put Carl through a few turns. She whacked him on the ass a couple more times. Then Carl went down on his knees and kissed the top of Katriona’s foot. Even though the man’s actions were submissive, he did them with such strength, such masculine grace, that she was reminded of a lion tamer. Although one held the whip, only the foolish believed the lion to be truly tamed or powerless. Olivia had told her about the exhibitionism that went on here sometimes, about the scenes played out, sometimes all‐out sex right there on the stage, but this... There was something about it that got Carmen’s blood heated to a fevered pitch. “Think about it, ladies. Who wouldn’t want to be pampered by a man who will answer your every wish? To relax and let him take care of your every desire.” “Five thousand five hundred going once... Twice...”
18
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Carmen shot her hand up in the air. “Five thousand six hundred,” she called out. Olivia grabbed her hand and pulled it down. “What the hell are you doing, Car?” “I want to be pampered. I’ve never been pampered.” She sounded pathetic, but she couldn’t help it. It might be the only time in her life when a man would willingly cook her a meal and give her a massage.” “It’s just a weekend getaway. I’ll send you to the spa we use. They aren’t actually auctioning sex. It’s not like you get to have Carl.” Carmen shrugged. “I can get sex anywhere.” “Five thousand nine hundred,” Dalton said. Carmen raised her hand again. “Six thousand.” It would take a large chunk of her savings but, as Olivia said, it was for a good cause—a tax write‐off. She eyed Carl. Yeah, a weekend of being pampered was exactly what she needed to get her mind off her recent troubles. Carl peeked up through his lashes. The Montgomerys’ guest was bidding on him. It took all he had to keep the smile inside. Kat laid her hand against his chest, making it look sexual as she stroked his pec, but she leaned in and whispered, “Carmen’s not a member. We can’t allow her to win the auction.” Dipping his head a bit farther so none of the audience could see his mouth as he spoke, he said, “She’s Olivia’s life‐long friend. I say let her have me.” “It’s the hips, isn’t it?” Kat asked with a husky chuckle in his ear. “You like her hips.” “And boobs,” he commented, trying to keep his own laughter inside. “She’s got great boobs.” Kat tweaked his nipple, nearly making him jump. “Okay. I’ll let her have you if she can outbid Harriet.” She gave a slight nod in Dalton’s direction, so he would let Carmen win if she bid high enough. God, please let Carmen win the auction. Harriett would tie him up for the weekend and probably... He swallowed. “It is clear that sex is not part of the weekend package, right?”
19
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Kat snapped his ass with the riding crop and laughed. She was getting off on this shit. He’d get her back. “Six thousand three hundred going once... Twice... Sold to the Montgomerys.” Carl sighed and slumped. “Thank God,” he murmured. Kat gave him an affectionate pat on the ass. “You sounded worried.” Carl bowed low, showing the audience his respect for his Domme. Beneath his breath so only she could hear, he said, “I’m all for volunteering for a good cause, but if Harriett had gotten me, you and Dalton would have been paying one hell of a bonus.” * * * * * Carmen pulled up into the back parking lot of Incognito—as she’d been instructed to do the other night—and parked Olivia’s sporty little convertible under a tree to keep it in the shade. Since the three‐day forecast was for sunny skies, she didn’t bother closing the top, and instead grabbed her overnight bag off the passenger seat. She was a little tired, but the several cups of coffee she’d had that morning had helped. She and Olivia had stayed up late the night before talking while she helped Olivia pack for her trip, then she’d been up to see them all off at the airport that morning. Now she had two weeks to veg out in Olivia’s mansion. She grinned as she headed down the crushed seashell path toward the caretaker’s cottage at the back of the Incognito property. Her vacation was going better than she could have imagined, starting off with a weekend pampering session by the handsome, sexy, takes‐directions‐well Carl. Too bad she couldn’t have brought him to the Montgomery mansion. Their Jacuzzi was bigger than anything here, she’d bet. And they had the walled‐in lawn and garden. Oh... The path opened to the cutest little cottage she’d ever seen in real life. It looked like something out of Hansel and Gretel or a Thomas

Not made out of candy, of course, but the trim looked like gingerbread, and the flowers blooming around the steps and front looked like cotton candy. She set her bag on the front step then went around the side. A short hedge that came to her waist was the only thing blocking her from the beach and the slow rolling waves beyond the sparkling sand. She sighed. The Montgomerys’ mansion wasn’t on the beach. This was very nice. Closing her eyes, she listened to the flow and ebb of the surf. She had lived in California her entire life, but there was something about here that was more...welcoming. Soothing. Perhaps it was the area. Not so populated. The air was cleaner. The scent of flowers more noticeable. And here she had the freedom to not worry about any of the crap she’d had to deal with back in California. No asshole men who thought she could be bought. No bosses demanding she work harder and faster. No more—no, she didn’t want to think of that. Right now, standing on the edge of the beach, the sun beating down on her head and warming her from the inside out, she had no worries. Life was good. Once Olivia returned from her trip, she’d talk to her friend about holing up with them until she could find a job. With her experience, it shouldn’t be difficult; wasn’t Florida known for its tourist industry? And hotels were a huge part of that. She didn’t want to go back to California—couldn’t go back now. She wanted to stay. She wanted to be near her friend she’d missed with all her heart. Maybe she should begin the search before Olivia got back, but not yet, not until after her weekend of pampered relaxation. “Good afternoon, Mistress Carmen.” She whirled around at the deep, sensual voice, to find Carl standing behind her, head bowed, hands behind his back. He had on black slacks and a bow tie, not unlike Chippendales dancers wore. His broad chest and slim waist, not to mention those absolutely scrumptious abs, were bare for her viewing pleasure. “My apologies, Mistress, for startling you.”
21
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “No problem,” she said. He could startle her anytime he wanted, especially when dressed like that. Or in nothing at all. She fought the urge to grin like a loon as she ran her gaze over his entire body and shivered. The guy looked good no matter what he wore. “So. What’s first?” She couldn’t just stand out here and ogle him all day. “If it pleases you, Mistress, dinner is prepared.” He held his hand out, sweeping it toward the deck of the cottage overlooking the beach. “My bag’s by the front door.” “I will fetch it for you. Please, make yourself comfortable, and I’ll bring supper to you. Unless you’d prefer to change clothes first?” She glanced down at herself. Jeans and a tank top. Running shoes. “Yeah. I think I’ll put on...” What? She supposed she could put on her swimsuit to sit in the sun. Not that she needed a tan. Oh, hell, she’d spent so much time inside the past ten years, she didn’t even know what to do with herself. “Okay, grab my bag, please, and I’ll change before I eat.” Carl gave a low bow and turned away. Oh, damn. His backside in those snug slacks looked good enough to bite. On his wrists, she realized, he had black leather cuffs. With a sigh and her gaze on his ass, she followed him around to the front door and then into the cool, air‐ conditioned interior of the quaint cottage. The colors were earthy and cheery, the shades of the sea in corals and greens and yellows. “It’s so pretty,” she said as she did a turn and took in the small, comfortable house. She’d lived in the same small room in the Rosemont for the last ten years. Her view was of the parking lot, and she hadn’t been allowed to even hang a picture on the wall. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a little place of her own like this? Could she afford it once she started working again? Ha. She’d never be able to afford an oceanside cottage. She was dreaming now. She swallowed back a lump of disappointment and forced a smile, not that Carl was watching. His gaze was on the floor, as usual. “Which way to the bathroom?” she asked, reaching for her bag. “This way.” Keeping a firm hold on her little suitcase, Carl turned and walked into a spacious bedroom. “This is your room, Mistress.” He
22
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton laid the bag on the bed and unzipped it, then opened it. She frowned. If he started rifling through her undies, she was not going to be a happy mistress. He didn’t rifle, though; he simply laid the lid back. Then he went into the bathroom and turned on the light. “If you wish for a soak in the tub, please let me know, and I will draw it for you.” Moving up close to him, she peered into the big bathroom, at the two‐person‐sized whirlpool tub, the big glass‐enclosed shower stall, and the sandy‐colored granite countertops that matched the ones in the kitchen. But the bathroom wasn’t nearly as intriguing as Carl’s musky, masculine scent. Mmm. Now she really wanted to take a bite. “Thanks, Carl,” she said, forcing herself to move away. “Maybe later. Where do you sleep?” As far as she could tell, this was the only bedroom in the little cottage. She reached into her bag and pulled out her simple, one‐piece swimsuit. She wasn’t sure she wanted to get quite so bare in front of the sexy man standing in her bedroom. Cellulite had become her companion in recent years. She didn’t care about her rather generous curves most of the time, but this guy made her want to be model‐like—tall, slim, and sexy—and she just wasn’t. “I will leave for the nights,” he said. “Oh.” Duh. He had Katriona to go home to. “Okay.” She lifted the swimsuit, debating if she should put it on or simply change into her sundress that would cover her thunder thighs. Screw it, she thought. He was here to cater to her, not the other way around. Besides, he might be great eye candy, but it wasn’t as if she was actually going to get any from him, so why try to impress? “I’ll leave you to change.” He executed a deep bow, but he didn’t leave the room. She stared at the top of his head as he stood there bowing. “Mistress?” he queried. “Yeah?” “May I be excused?” “Oh!” She chuckled. Man, the guy really did take directions, didn’t
23
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton he? “Yeah. Thanks.” He stood, a small smile playing on his sexy lips. “May I pour you a glass of champagne?” “Sure.” He gave a nod of his head and then left the room, quietly closing the door behind him. Carmen stared at the door for a moment then turned to take in the bedroom. The walls were painted a warm, sandy tan, the rug a rich dark chocolate. The bedspread was cream‐colored, and the furniture antiqued brass, white pine, and smoked glass. The place was so picturesque. She’d have to talk to Olivia and the brothers to see if there was any possibility of her ever being able to afford a place like this around here. Of course, she wouldn’t be able to get beachfront property, but somewhere nearby? She’d like to be close enough to visit Olivia when she wasn’t working. Carmen stripped, leaving her clothes on the floor, and pulled on her bathing suit. Hmm, it was getting a bit snug. Too much junk food lately. As she stared at herself in the full‐length mirror on the back of the door, she had to blink back the rush of tears. Damn it. Sitting down on the edge of the bed, she took a couple of deep breaths. She didn’t care about her size. She’d long ago accepted the fact that she’d never qualify as a cover model. That wasn’t a problem. It was everything else she hadn’t quite dealt with yet. All hell had been breaking loose in her life at the Rosemont Hotel where she’d worked forever. When Olivia had called her to ask if she wanted a vacation and to come housesit for them for two weeks, she’d given up fighting the hotel management and quit. She wasn’t destitute. She had a nice bankroll because she’d been saving almost every penny she made for over ten years, but... But she hadn’t been jobless since she was fifteen years old. She hadn’t gone on a job interview in over twelve years. She was a little scared. And she was feeling quite alone, something that had never plagued her before. She wished Olivia hadn’t gone on the trip. She wanted to talk to
24
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton her. Olivia always had good advice to give. Olivia was the only person she’d had to lean on for most of her adult life. A soft knock on the door had her swiping her eyes with the back of her hand. She was not going to be caught crying. Carmen Fernandez did not cry. “May I serve your supper on the patio?” Carl called through the door. “I’ll be out in a minute.”

Chapter Three Carl dished up the spinach chicken salad and then pulled the lightly toasted cheese bread from the oven. He wondered about the sadness in Carmen’s eyes as she’d looked around the cottage. What had caused the change in mood? The other night at the auction, she’d been all smiles and curiosity. Taking the food onto the patio, he set it on the table and double‐checked the china. He poured a glass of ice water and popped the cork on the champagne. “That looks wonderful,” Carmen said as she came outside. He held her chair for her, and she sat. He’d hoped for a bikini, but as he peered over her shoulder, he was rewarded with a glimpse of her more‐than‐ample breasts. Nice. He loved a soft woman. She wore a floral sarong that covered her from waist to ankles, but the bare flesh of her shoulders and neck looked soft and delectable. He breathed in her sweet, warm scent of summer flowers and vanilla before stepping to her side and carefully laying the linen napkin across her lap. She smiled up at him, and it took all his concentration not to smile back. She was pretty in a down‐home, sweet way. He bowed instead, then reached for the champagne in the ice bucket and poured her a glass. “Mistress,” he said softly. “Is there anything else you would care for?” She looked over her plate and shook her head. “It looks really good. Thank you.”
26
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton He nodded and stepped back, just to the left and behind her, then folded his hands behind his back. She’d filled out a questionnaire Kat and Dalton supplied the night of the auction, stating her food and beverage preferences. The fridge had been stocked to keep her appetite appeased. She twisted around to look at him then frowned. “What’re you doing?” “I am waiting for instructions, Mistress,” he answered, keeping his smile inside. She looked so adorably confused. She obviously didn’t know the ways of the D/s life. “Well. Don’t you want to eat?” She motioned to the seat next to her. “You can sit with me. I don’t bite.” “If it is your wish that I sit with you, Mistress, I would be honored.” When he didn’t move, she sighed. “Yeah. It’s my wish. Sit down. You’re making me nervous hovering over me like that.” He moved toward the table to take the empty seat next to her. “Wait,” she said. “You need a plate and glasses and stuff.” “Yes, Mistress. Excuse me.” He bowed before heading inside to the kitchen. He’d eaten before she arrived, but he’d dish himself some salad if it would make her happy. He grabbed a champagne flute, water glass, plate, and some silverware before heading back to the patio. After he took the seat next to her, he said, “Is the meal to your liking, Mistress?” She speared a mandarin slice in her salad and put it in her mouth, then nodded. After she swallowed, she said, “It’s good. You made this?” “Yes, Mistress.” He poured himself a glass of champagne, and one of ice water. They ate in silence for a few minutes. When she finished her water, he poured her another glass. She smiled at him, her pretty white teeth flashing against her toasted skin. Her dark, dark eyes were the color of the most expensive chocolate, almost black, but not quite. He found it difficult to not stare directly at her. She was simply too beautiful for words. As Carmen finished her food, she picked up her champagne glass
27
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton and leaned back in the thickly padded wrought iron chair. She sighed, her eyes drifting closed as she took a sip of the sparkling wine. “I like it here,” she said softly. He didn’t think she meant the cottage. “May I speak freely, Mistress?” Her eyes opened, but her brow wrinkled into an annoyed frowned. “Yes. Speak anytime you want.” He nodded in acquiescence, keeping his expression neutral and his face downcast. Little tricks he’d learned over the years to keep Doms from knowing he saw their every move and expression. He’d needed it while living the role of Kat’s slave and protector at Incognito for so many years. “Where are you from?” Her brow wrinkled. “I change my mind. No questions. I don’t want to talk about myself right now.” “As you wish, Mistress.” She turned her head and looked at him. “Can I ask you questions about the alternative lifestyle, though?” He wanted so badly to smile at her asking him for permission that he lowered his head farther to keep her from noticing the twitch in his lips. “Of course, Mistress.” “How can you sit there and keep calling me Mistress? Isn’t that degrading to you? Doesn’t it make you feel...I don’t know...less human?” “Quite the opposite. Mistress is just a title of respect, not unlike sir or ma’am. I don’t believe there’s anything degrading in showing one’s respect or in servicing others. I do respect you and what you did for the shelter. I want to provide for your needs. To make you happy makes me happy.” “Is this what you do for a living? Are you Katriona’s slave...for pay?” “No.” He couldn’t completely keep his smile to himself. “I’m not a gigolo. I’m the accountant for Incognito. Being a slave only affects my personal life, not my professional one.” “Oh. Good.” She grinned. “So I guess that’s how you and Katriona
28
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton got together? You went to work for her? Or was it the other way around?” “She hired me as her accountant first.” When Incognito opened its doors about six months after he started working for her, there’d been a few unruly clients. It hadn’t taken much for him to slide into the role of Kat’s slave, therefore making himself available to help when situations arose. “So, you live with Katriona and Dalton?” Shit. No one knew his true relationship with Katriona except Kat and Dalton. Incognito clientele had no clue he and Kat weren’t an item— that they never had been. “No. I don’t live with her. I live on Incognito property in order to keep an eye on things when she’s not here.” It was most of the truth. Until a few months ago, Katriona lived right here in this cottage. She’d finished cleaning out her stuff and moved into Dalton’s house because of renovations. Carl’s home was another cottage just down the beach, barely visible from where he sat now. “Accountant and caretaker. Hmm.” He wondered what she meant by that, but he wasn’t about to ask. She said no questions. He would obey, even if curiosity killed him. She finished her champagne in one long swallow, but when he reached for the bottle in the ice bucket, she waved him off. “Nope. This was enough. Any more and I’ll fall asleep.” She grinned at him. “I heard you were a wiz at giving massages. You up for it?” Oh yeah. He was dying to get his hands on her. “As you wish, Mistress.” She laughed and pushed out of the chair. “As weird as it is to hear you say it so often, I kinda like it. Makes me feel like a princess.” She headed through the patio doorway. He followed her into the cottage. “Where do you want me?” Carl closed his eyes for an instant and drew in a deep breath. He wanted her straddling his lap as he sank deep into her hot, wet pussy,
29
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton those glorious breasts pressed against his face. “I’ll get the massage table,” he said instead. “There’s a selection of music by the CD player.” He pointed toward the entertainment center. “If it pleases you, choose something you would like to listen to while I help you relax.” She giggled. “It pleases me, Carl.” She winked at him. “And so do you.” She was a tease. He grinned after turning away to retrieve the massage table from the back of the bedroom closet. When he returned, he was glad to hear her choice of music. Andrea Bocelli. One of his personal favorites. Carmen examined a painting of a seascape hanging on the wall as he set up the table. “I am ready for you, Mistress Carmen.” She turned toward him, glanced at the table, then looked back at him. “Uh. Do you have a stool? I can’t get up on that.” He held out his hand for her. She stepped close and raised her eyebrows at him. He took a second to stare at those full, lush lips of hers that he wanted to kiss more than he wanted to draw his next breath. He should probably ask permission, but... He wrapped his hands around her waist and easily lifted her onto the table. She yelped and grabbed his shoulders, her fingertips digging into his flesh. Lust shot through him, and he had to force himself to release her. He wasn’t used to these sharp, poignant feelings of...want. He had women whenever he needed the release. Incognito gave him more playtime than he could ever use. Why the fuck was this short, busty woman making him nearly forget who he was? Carmen swallowed hard. Holy shit. He just lifted her up on the table as if she weighed nothing. She couldn’t remember a man ever lifting her off the floor before. And without even grunting and straining? Oh...oh, he felt good. Her fingers flexed against his shoulders of their own accord. He was so hard...his skin so smooth. With him standing so close, his scent overwhelmed her, leaving her a little lightheaded. “You’re strong,” she said, embarrassed that the words slipped out,
30
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton and mortified that her voice sounded as if she were a three pack a day smoker. To her chagrin, Carl pulled back. “You are small,” he said as he turned away. A gusty giggle slipped out before she could stop it. “I’m forty pounds overweight. No one has ever called me small.” He disappeared into her bedroom then returned with a bottle of oil. When he stepped close again, her breath caught in her throat. He met her eyes full on. “You are small...and beautiful, Mistress Carmen.” His gaze roved over her face, zeroed in on her lips, then slid away. “Please, lie down.” She stretched out on her stomach. As much as she’d like to stare at him, lying facedown was a better position with him standing so close. It would have been so easy to lean forward and touch her lips to his skin. To run her fingers through his chest hair. To taste his lips and find out if they are as soft and warm as they appeared. No sex, she reminded herself. The auction paperwork had been specific on that. “May I remove your wrap?” he asked. “Uh huh.” She reached for the knot at her side, but her hand bumped his, and she jerked away. The cool air of the room brushed over her legs when he removed the sarong. She lifted her hips slightly when he tugged on the material, and he pulled it out from beneath her. She expected his touch on her back, and startled when his big, warm hands, slick with oil, slid over one of her ankles. “Shh, Mistress,” he said, his voice barely louder than the soft music playing in the background. “I would never harm you. Please try to relax.” I would never harm you. She closed her eyes and let out a slow breath. How long had she waited to hear someone—anyone—say those words to her? Even if it was only today, only a fantasy that she’d paid for, she liked hearing it. He took care with her feet, running his thumb along her arch,
31
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton between her toes... “Oh, God, Carl.” She moaned when he moved from one to the other foot. “I never want you to stop.” “As you wish.” His words made her giggle. “I didn’t mean that literally.” He didn’t respond except to move to her calves, kneading her muscles with sure, strong strokes. Long minutes later, he worked his way up to the backs of her thighs, then between her thighs. Her breath caught, and she waited.... Would he? Please... Just a little higher.... She bit her lip to stifle a sob of disappointment when he moved up the table and started on her right hand and forearm. She should not be having these thoughts. She should not be getting damp with arousal or be throbbing with need. It wasn’t as if she’d been celibate long. There was no biological need for her to crave this man. But he smelled so good, and he touched her with such care. The oil was slick and silky between his hands and her body. If he touched her clit— “Relax, Mistress. You are so tense all of a sudden.” Her breaths came in hard and fast. “Talk to me.” “What would you like to talk about?” he asked, moving around to the other side of the table. He took her left hand and gave it the same tender attention he’d given the other one. “Tell me more. Tell me about being a slave. Do you...” She didn’t want to know that. Didn’t want to know how many women he touched like this. “Do you do everything you’re told?” “Within reason. I follow orders given as long as they do not cause harm to myself or anyone else.” “No harm,” she repeated. “That’s right. The motto of alternative lifestyles enforced at Incognito is Safe, Sane and Consensual. It’s a personal code I take very seriously.” “That’s a good motto.” “Mmm hmm.” His hands were so warm and smooth as he moved up her arms to her shoulders. “May I pull down your straps?” His finger
32
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton tickled her shoulder as he ran it beneath the strap of her swimsuit. “Uh.” She wondered if she’d hyperventilate. “Okay.” He pulled one strap down, guided her arm until it was out, and then he did the other one. All the while his fingers were gentle. The oil smelled of spice and musk. Similar to Carl’s own scent, yet different. When he ran his hands from the small of her back, up and over her shoulders, she couldn’t stifle the moan of pure pleasure. “Mistress approves of my technique?” he asked. She wondered if the humor in his voice was real or imagined. Either way, she couldn’t deny how good it felt. “Yesss. Very much approve.” He worked her shoulder muscles, and soon she felt as if she’d turned to gelatin. As his fingers glided over her sides, so close to her breasts, her arousal throbbed through her, and she had to ignore it. Had to! “Tell me,” she said, doing what she could to focus on anything other than the thrum of heat pulsing through her body. She wanted to press her hips into the table to alleviate the ache. “Hmm...?” The deep sound of his voice rumbled through her, warming her insides like hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night. “You’d do anything I instructed?” “Within reason, of course. Yes.” “If I told you to stop.” His hands pulled off of her before the word was completely out of her mouth. “No. Don’t stop,” she said. It was torture, sublime torture. She was going to have to go use that Jacuzzi tub when he was done. The one perk to her hotel room was the whirlpool jets in the tub. She knew she could get off fast and hard with them. He continued the massage. “Would you...go to the store and buy me a carton of rocky road if I asked?” “Yes, Mistress.” Was that humor she heard in his voice? “And you’d do that for any dominatrix?”
33
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton He didn’t answer right away, so she turned her head to look at him. “No. Not for any Domme.” “I thought a slave had no choice but to obey.” “I choose whom I serve. Some slaves live the lifestyle 24/7. I do not. I work a full‐time job and am not submissive in that respect. I decide when I role‐play and with whom.” “So, this is a game to you?” He paused again, but then said, “It is not a game to me. When I say role‐play, I mean that...” He stopped. Even his hands stopped mid stroke. “When I do my grocery shopping, I do not wear chains and cuffs. I don’t divert my eyes from meeting gazes. When I put on the costume and work evenings in Incognito, or whenever I’m with a woman who is also part of the lifestyle, that is when my other self comes out and I’m free to be the sexual being I enjoy most.” His fingers pressed and kneaded her bare shoulders again. One palm slid down her spine. As his hands resumed their tender strokes, Carmen’s nipples hardened against the cushioned massage table, and she nearly groaned. Hearing him use the words sexual being while he touched her almost knocked her over the edge. She struggled to think of something to say that might turn the tide—get her mind on other topics and off how wonderful his hands felt on her body. “Olivia is submissive to her husbands all the time. I actually saw them punish her once. Made her kneel on the floor while we all ate dinner. Does Katriona do that to you?” “Yes. I’ve spent a few meals on my knees.” “You like a woman bossing you around then,” she said, finally understanding. She’d known plenty of men in her time who loved to be the boss. “Not exactly,” he murmured in response to her assessment. “It doesn’t turn you on to have a woman tell you what to do and when to do it?” “There’s a big difference in what you speak of. Bossy people don’t appeal to me, but yes, when issued appropriately, a mistress’ command
34
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton very much turns me on. I enjoy when a woman tells me what she wants and how to give it to her. I revel in giving myself over to her.” All the while he spoke, his hands continued to do marvelous things to her body. Again, his fingers curled over her sides, his fingertips brushing close to her breasts, his thumbs pressing a line down her spine, dipping with the small of her back. Dios mio. Her body tingled all over. Her face heated. She’d never been so aroused in her life. He slipped his fingers just beneath the bottom of her swimsuit, skimming the top of her butt. Her muscles clenched in response. She gasped. “Shh,” he whispered. “I...I...” She raised up a bit, pressed her arm against her chest to hold the top of her suit over her breasts, and tried to sit up, but her body wouldn’t respond. She felt drugged. His warm, oil‐slicked hands closed over her shoulders and helped her sit up. “Are you all right?” She nodded, afraid if she hopped off the table she’d fall on her face. Her head spun. Her body hummed. Still holding her upright, he rounded the top of the table and bent his knees to look into her face. “Carmen? What’s wrong? Are you...Ohh.”

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton
Chapter Four She was either extremely aroused or having a heart attack. Carl figured on the former. Her cheeks were flushed, the pulse at the base of her throat beating like a hammer, her breaths quick and shallow. His cock went hard within a single heartbeat. God, he’d never wanted any woman more than he wanted to sink into her right this second. She was so ready. Her eyes were glazed, her lips slightly parted as she panted. “Carmen?” he said softly, afraid of spooking her. She seemed to be feeling off kilter. “You should go.” That was the last thing he wanted to do. His need to obey warred with his desire to give her what she needed. Besides, she’d said he should go, not must go. It wasn’t exactly a direct order. “Is that what you truly want?” Her knuckles went white as she gripped the edge of the massage table. Her other hand splayed across her breast, holding her swimsuit up, but her nipples were hard, poking against the soft material. She didn’t respond, but her gaze slid away. The poor woman was embarrassed by her own arousal? His heart softened, and he realized she might have the heart of a Domme, but maybe she didn’t know what to do about it. Did she not know how to demand what she needed? “Allow me,” he said in little more than a whisper as he slid one
36
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton hand beneath her knees, the other behind her back, and lifted her. She stiffened and nearly strangled him when she threw her arms around his neck. “You’re safe, Mistress,” he said as he carried her into the bedroom then gently set her on the bed. Her lovely dark hair spread over the fluffy, pale pillows. He knelt next to the bed, careful not to touch her. “I’m here to serve you. I want to pleasure you. You need only to say how.” Her cheeks went from pink to flame red. She closed her eyes and sucked in a deep breath. Her breasts rose with the inhale. The swimsuit had slipped a bit, so he could see a dark areola. He reached out, but stopped himself before he made contact with her flesh. “Please, Mistress,” he said, his voice unnaturally low and gravelly. It had been a very long time—years in fact—since he found himself so needy. He didn’t care for the feeling, but he knew he had to help her. Give her what her body demanded. “Tell me how to pleasure you.” Carmen turned her head toward him, and her eyelids slowly fluttered open. “Look at me.” He raised his head to meet her gaze straight on. “I don’t know how to do this.” He gave her a reassuring smile. “How did you feel as I gave you the massage?” She sighed. “Heavenly.” He grinned. “Did I touch you everywhere you want to be touched?” Her eyes widened a bit, her cheeks rosy once more. Then she blinked. “I...” “The truth, Mistress. That’s all I ask for.” She took a deep breath and whispered, “No.” He lowered his voice to match hers. “Take my hand. Show me where to touch you.” She stared at the hand he held mere inches from her tummy. Then, slowly, her left hand covered his, pressed it to her abdomen, and slid it downward. When his fingers dipped between her thighs to cup her sex,
37
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton she released the sweetest sound of pleasure, which almost made him moan and did make his cock harden to the point of painful need. Her eyes had closed again, so while his fingers kept her attention, he leaned close to her ear. In a soft murmur, he said, “Show me where you’d like me to kiss you.” Her hands crept up her body to cup her breasts. A woman after my own heart. But before he obeyed her unspoken request, he said, “That’s how, Mistress. Your wish is my command.” With a fingertip, he tugged the swimsuit a fraction lower. Then he licked a circular path around the tip of one breast before sucking her sweet, plump nipple into his mouth. That soft whimper was louder this time, and her back arched, pushing her deeper into his mouth. Without being told, he cupped her breast and kneaded the soft flesh as he suckled. He slipped the fingers of his other hand beneath her swimsuit to flick her clit and dip into her moist, silky pussy. She latched onto his wrist and head. For a second, he worried she’d stop him, push him away, but instead she clutched him to her. He continued to finger‐fuck her, inserting a second one as he also moved on to lave her other breast. “Mmm, oh...yeah.” She spread her legs wider and bucked her hips in opposition to his hand. He released her and, with a tug on her bathing suit, asked, “Mistress, do you want to keep this on?” “Hell, no.” He chuckled at that. “As you wish.” He skimmed the suit over her hips, down her legs, and dropped it on the floor. Seeing her naked, toasted skin against the pale comforter, all her soft curves, hills and valleys, he could do little but take in her beauty. Never in all his nearly forty years had he seen anyone quite so sensuous, so perfect. “I thought slaves weren’t supposed to stare,” Carmen said. “Forgive me, Mistress,” he said, dropping his gaze. “I have never
38
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton seen such perfection before.” She snorted and rolled her eyes. “Oh, please.” That she doubted her beauty was a gift to him. He vowed to show her what he saw. To give to her as she deserved. He laid his palm against her tummy. Her muscles jerked at his touch, and her breath whooshed out. He smiled and dipped his head to lay soft kisses on the slope of her breast. Her sweet whimper pushed him to a point he hadn’t experienced in an eternity. Even though he was a sub, and even though he enjoyed his role as one, the women he had sex with at Incognito never made him want to give his all. He pleasured them, sure, because they demanded it, expected it. But he’d always gone into it with his own satisfaction in mind as well. Carmen seemed to need it, need him. For her, he’d give until he couldn’t give any more. He laved her nipples with his tongue, gently squeezing and plumping her luscious, full breasts. When he slipped his fingers through her tight curls and into her slick heat, he nearly moaned. She was so wet, so hot. Kissing a path over her abdomen, he crawled up on the bed between her thighs as he sank two fingers deep in her cunt. “Mistress,” he said and realized his breathing was none too steady. She ground herself against his hand. “What? God. Don’t stop.” “Permission to—” “Permission granted! Just don’t stop.” Carl lifted her thighs over his shoulders, spread her wide, and stroked his tongue over her. Her hips bucked, burying his face against her. Oh, yes. She tasted sweet everywhere. He licked, and suckled, and reveled in her arousal. In the moans and whimpers she couldn’t keep inside. Her fingers speared through his hair, and she fisted her hands, tugging, pressing him against her. “More,” she said on a moan. “Please, more.” She lifted her hips to
39
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton him, her soft thighs pressing against his shoulders, her muscles clenched. He pushed a third finger into her and pressed up, rubbing over her G‐spot. At the same time, he rapidly plucked and flicked her clit with his lips. Carmen screamed, her legs clamping around his head in a vice‐like grip. He sucked her clit hard, riding her orgasm with her, rubbing her G‐ spot as her body convulsed and her inner muscles milked his fingers. Her legs fell from his shoulders, and her body went lax. Withdrawing his fingers from deep within her, he soothed her clit with his tongue one last time and reveled in the small spasms that still shook her. When her fist eased from his hair, he looked up at her. Her eyes were closed, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she tried to catch her breath. He knew he’d pleased her, and for that he was glad. Carmen drew in deep breaths and fought back the trembling in her body. Dios mio, she’d never experienced an orgasm so strong. Her entire body—from fingertips to painted toenails—still tingled. Deep inside, soft, fluttery pulses made her feel completely sated, yet as if she could come again and again with just another touch. She’d always enjoyed sex, but this... Carl... No man had given her oral sex in ages. And none with the skill he showed. She realized now what all the fuss was about. What she’d been missing out on. His soft, warm hand slid over her thigh, her hip, then up to cup her breast. Her nipple tightened almost to the point of pain at the slight touch of his thumb, and she held her breath. She felt him shift and move next to her on the bed. His soft, moist lips touched her bare shoulder in the most delicate of kisses. She rolled toward him, coming up against his wide, solid chest. Against her belly, despite his pants, she could feel his long, hard cock. Nuzzling her nose against his soft chest hair, she laid her hand on his side and slid it upward, reveling in the ripple of his muscles at her touch. He was so strong. She opened her eyes to look at him and found the most beautiful man she’d ever seen. “What does the mistress wish of me?” he whispered with his eyes

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton closed. She loved his voice, so gentle and full of caring. Never had a man spoken to her this way. Not just the words he used, but the tone. Every man she’d been with in the past few years only worried about their needs, their wants. And she’d always given and given and given. “Look at me.” When he did, she smiled. “Take off the bowtie.” He reached up, unhooked it, and then tossed it on the nightstand. “Take off your pants.” She moved back a bit so he could reach his buttons. Without any hesitation, he shucked the slacks, and she nearly blushed when she realized he wasn’t wearing underwear. But her embarrassment was short lived. His long, thick cock sprang free, hard and proud. She wrapped her hand around him. So smooth, so hard, he pulsed in her hand. She stroked him once, twice, a gentle exploration more than anything else. Then she moved lower and cupped his sac. His balls drew up tight at her touch. Carl didn’t make a sound, so unlike any other man she’d known. She wondered whether he liked her caress, but when she looked up into his face, his eyelids were lowered to half‐mast, his gaze averted, and his jaw clenched. “You don’t have to look away, you know.” His gaze snapped to hers and when it did, his eyes were dark and passionate. Yes. Her caress affected him. Unfamiliar and exhilarating, a sensation of womanly power washed through her, and she bent to take him in her mouth. She wanted to return the pleasure he’d given her. His breath sucked in quick and hard, but other than that, he didn’t move. She licked the soft head of his penis, then the tender underside. She buried her nose against his crinkly hair and inhaled his spicy musk. Then she rubbed her cheek against his shaft, cupped his balls in one hand, and slowly pumped him with the other. She heard him swallow, but still he didn’t move or make any other sound.
41
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Glancing up at him, there was no missing the strain of contained arousal in his eyes. But he had slowed his breathing. He was resisting the urge, wasn’t he? Fighting it? She wondered how long he could really hold out. Any other man who was this hard, pulsating the way Carl’s cock did, would be ready to come all over himself. Accepting the silent challenge, she dipped her head and took him full in her mouth, all the way to the back of her throat. Not a sound came from him, but she felt his muscles tighten. She sucked and licked, pumped with her hand, and nibbled. She rolled his testicles and lightly squeezed them. Her pussy clenched and pulsed. Her breathing sped up, and she moaned. A tiny drop of pre‐cum landed on her tongue, and he tasted of heaven. Her arousal spiked through her, and she knew if he touched her, she’d go off like a bottle rocket. She sucked harder, expecting him to come at any second. She pumped him and took him as deep as she could. Still the man didn’t move, seemed to have stopped breathing altogether. Only his hands fisted at his sides, the corded muscles of his neck and washboard abs, proved to her that he was fighting it. She couldn’t believe he could hold out so long. Pulling back, sucking hard, she released his cock with a loud pop. “You clean?” she asked. “Yes, Mistress,” he said in a guarded yet conversational tone that ripped a giggle out of her. “All members of Incognito are tested reg—” “I am, too, and on the pill.” Without warning and with perfect aim, she threw her leg over him and came down hard, grinding her hips and taking him all the way to her womb. Her pussy clenched around his width, and she whimpered, shocked at how he stretched and filled her. Dropping her head back, she rotated her hips and nearly climaxed as his cock reached parts of her never touched by another man. Rising up on her knees until he almost fell out of her, she looked down into his upturned face. His gaze was on her, hot and hungry. As she lowered herself back down, slowly taking his cock back into her, she
42
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton cupped her own breasts and flicked her fingertips over her hard, aching nipples. Her pussy pulsed in time to her own strokes. Carl’s jaw clenched, the muscle in his cheek twitching. His nostrils flared, but his gaze remained steady. His hands were fisted in the quilt on each side of her. There was no way he could last long. No way. She grinned and leaned over, grabbing the brass bars of the headboard for support, her nipples right next to his lips. “Suck my tits,” she said in a voice filled with command. His head lifted, and his lips lightly clamped onto her right nipple. “Harder.” The strong pull of his mouth, the way his tongue twirled around her peak, had her rubbing her ass against his balls. Dios mio, it felt good. “The other one,” she said, breathing hard. He released her right and sucked the left nipple between his teeth, nibbling, licking. And then one hard pull and she cried out, lifted, and thrust down hard on his cock. “Again!” she cried. He switched back to her right, drew her in until it almost hurt. She thrust down on him again and again, then screamed as she reached her orgasm, her pussy clenching around him as she bucked her hips to make it last longer, grinding down on him. When the room stopped spinning, she realized he still held her nipple between his lips, but now he was tenderly stroking her with his tongue, soothing her. And his dick was still hard inside her. Shit. He hadn’t come. “How long can you last, Carl?” she asked as she sat up straight, pulling away from his mouth. His head dropped back with a bounce, and he met her gaze. His was steady, although she noticed he took a deep breath before answering. “As long as you need, Mistress.” She grinned. Really? He’s that sure of himself? The way she felt now, she could go all night. She’d had two of the best orgasms of her life but, rather than being exhausted, she was energized. Her pussy trembled
43
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton with post‐orgasmic shudders. Her breasts ached. Her clit throbbed. Carl, she realized, still gripped the comforter in his white‐knuckled fists. She tightened her cunt muscles around him before slowly raising off. His jaw flexed once, but other than that, he still didn’t move. He had some control, she thought, but she could get him to come. “Know what my favorite position is, Carl?” “No, Mistress.” She got on hands and knees next to him. “Doggy style.” His gaze dropped to her breasts, then to her ass sticking up in the air. “Know what I want you to do now?” His nostrils flared. “Tell me, Mistress, please.” “Fuck me.” “As you wish.” He moved quickly into position behind her and slammed into her hard and fast, but stopped when he was into her to the hilt. “How, Mistress?” His voice was strained; he had to be close to coming. “How do you want to be fucked?” “Hard. Fuck me hard.” Like a piston, he rammed into her as she’d demanded, so hard her arms couldn’t hold her up. She landed on her elbows, her face against the mattress. His thighs slapped against hers, his balls bouncing against her clit. She gritted her teeth to stave off her own climax as long as possible. Her face heated, her toes tingled. She reached up to grip the headboard for support, something to cling to, something solid and tangible. She pushed back against him with every pounding thrust. His cock went so deep into her she thought they’d become part of each other. She couldn’t hold in the moan any longer. The cries as he rocked into her erupted with each jolt. The climax built and built. She held it off, wanting more, wanting more. Wanting...wanting... Carl shouted, his fingers digging into her hips. He shouted again with each thrust. “Sí!” she cried as she let herself go. Fire and lightening exploded through her. Bright lights flashed behind her eyelids. Her legs slipped out
44
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton from beneath her, and Carl came down over her, still pumping into her, his grunts echoing her whimpers. His hand speared under her, and his long, skilled fingers found her clit. She shuddered as another wave of the orgasm swept over her. Sharp teeth nipped into her shoulder, and still he pumped and pumped, driving himself into her repeatedly. “More, Mistress?” came his breathy question. “Sí!” His hand left her clit, but then she felt him pressing against the tight muscles of her anus. His finger, slick with her own juices, slid into her virgin hole. The thrill of it, the newness and naughtiness, spiked another wave, and she wailed into the pillow, her whole body tensing. She sobbed. She shook. Carl’s movements slowed. Tears ran unchecked down her cheeks when she turned her head to the side and gasped for breath. Tears of...release. Of wonder. When she tried to let go of the headboard, her fingers were stiff. Carl pulled out of her, stretched out next to her, and took her hand in his. He didn’t say a word as he massaged her palm, her fingers, and for that she was grateful. Embarrassment washed over her that she was crying like a baby after experiencing the best sex of her life. She never knew...never knew it could be like this with a man. The best orgasms she’d ever had were by herself, with her toys. This blew them away. He switched to her other hand. When she found the courage to look at him, he was concentrating on her hand, not on her face, which was a good thing. She hated crying, and she hated even more being seen crying. “Carl?” He glanced at her face then back at her hand as he rubbed soothing circles in the back of her palm. “Yes, Mistress?” “Would you...” She bit her lip. She never asked for this from a man. Because usually, if it wasn’t given freely—and what man actually liked doing it?—it just wasn’t worth it. But she needed it right now. Badly.
45
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “...hold me?” Without a word, he released her hand, pulled her into his arms, and tucked her head beneath his chin. “Of course, Mistress. Your wish is my command.” She snuggled against him, but when her belly came in contact with his still‐rock‐hard cock, she gasped. She pushed away and glanced down. “Dios mio. You didn’t come? All that and you still didn’t come?” She looked into his handsome face. “Why didn’t you come? Do you have a problem? Unable to or something?” A grin tipped up on one side, although she noticed tiny lines of strain on his face, and he said, “You did not command it.” Her lips parted. She didn’t command it so he didn’t come? “Dios mio.” Her heart melted and flipped on its side. “You mean...you really are doing all this for me? You’d go forever without coming if I said you couldn’t, or if I never told you to? You want to please me that much?” His expression serious once more, he reached out and touched her damp cheek with his fingertip. “My only wish is to please you, Carmen.” Tears rushed to her eyes again, but she blinked them back. “What do you need me to do? I want you to come. You can’t live like that.” He grinned again. His face was so sweet, so charming. “Touch me, Mistress, and tell me to come. That’s all.” She wrapped her hand around his cock and stroked once, twice, and then looked into his eyes. “Come for me, Carl,” she whispered. Never taking his gaze from her, his body tensed, his penis jerked in her palm, then pulsed. Cum spurted out onto his abdomen, and he gave the softest little groan. She pumped him until the last drop beaded on his cock. She ran her fingertip over the head of his cock as it slowly softened in her gentle grip. He sucked in a quick breath. “Thank you, Mistress.” No, she thought. Thank you. But she couldn’t bring herself to say that. Couldn’t thank a guy for great sex. That felt very wrong. Finally releasing him, she reached for the box of tissues on the nightstand and started to clean him up. He grabbed her wrist in a gentle fist. “Thank you,
46
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Mistress, but this is not for you to do. Please, lie back and relax.” She frowned, but laid back. He got up and went into the bathroom. She heard the water in the sink come on. Closing her eyes, she realized how exhausted she was. Jetlag and lack of sleep, combined with several mind‐altering orgasms, took its toll. She yawned and stretched, her body sated and relaxed. She stretched again and then closed her eyes, loving the feel of total satiation that made her limbs feel like lead weights. She heard Carl come back into the room and wondered if he’d leave now. The bed dipped. “Mistress?” Her eyelids were heavy when she lifted them to look at him. “May I?” He held up a washcloth. Her brow wrinkled. “Uh... Okay.” His smile was sweet. The warm, damp washcloth felt heavenly as he gently ran it over her breasts and tummy, then up her thighs. He was infinitely careful as he caressed her sensitive pussy. She sighed at his tender ministrations. This she could get used to. She closed her eyes and sighed. “Thank you,” she said when he pulled away. He went back into the bathroom and then returned to the bed. “Mistress?” he whispered. “Hmm?” “May I hold you now?” Oh, this was too much. He was so darn sweet. “I’d like that.” She smiled, but didn’t open her eyes. She couldn’t. She was just too tired. He pulled down the comforter, and she wasn’t surprised this time when he lifted her and placed her under the blanket. Then he crawled in beside her, wrapped himself around her, and sighed. The blanket seemed to float over her. Turning her head against his chest, she inhaled his warm, spicy scent. He’d brushed his teeth; she could smell mint and soap. She snuggled against him more fully, tucking her arms between them, reveling in his warmth and strength. “You were wonderful,” she

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton murmured. “So were you, my mistress.” She felt him press a kiss on top of her head. “I am happy I pleased you.” She smiled and listened to the muted, rhythmic beat of his heart. His soft chest hairs tickled her nose as she nuzzled against him. She could easily stay here for say...the rest of her life. “Goodnight, my mistress.”

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton
Chapter Five My mistress. Had he really said that? Carl lay on his side and stared into Carmen’s sleeping face. Her hands tucked beneath her chin, her long black lashes touching her cheeks, she looked so soft and content. He lifted a wayward strand of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear. In the pale moonlight streaming in the window, her skin’s sun‐kissed glow made her look as if she were coated in warm milk chocolate. Knowing that she tasted as sweet as candy made his already semi‐aroused cock jump to life. My mistress. Never had a woman shattered the way she did at his touch. None had twisted his heart the way she did when she’d asked him, with tears in her eyes, to hold her. And never in more years than he could remember had he come on command the way he had for her, with just a tentative touch and a few whispered words. He prided himself on his prowess, his ability to control his every emotion when it came to sex. Sex had always been for the sake of physical gratification. Mutually satisfying fucking between consenting adults. Sometimes kinky, sometimes vanilla. Sometimes just a physical release to scratch an itch. He couldn’t keep himself from worrying that, with the way he felt, this interlude with Carmen was so much more. For the first time ever, he’d called a mistress his own. For the first time in years, he truly wanted
49
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton to please a woman. He would have suffered the worst case of blue balls in history if she’d demanded it. He’d been a submissive partner his entire life. Never fond of guessing games, he truly loved being instructed how to pleasure the woman he was with. But tonight, with Carmen, it had been so much more. He wasn’t role‐playing with her. He wanted to worship her. Wanted to do everything in his power to please her and bring her pleasure. Wanted to... He closed his eyes and licked his lips. No. Don’t be an idiot, Carl. You’ve known her one day. It’s the newness, the idea of having someone pure and new. She’s not from the club, so she’s simply a novelty. She couldn’t be his mistress. He could not pledge himself to her. Besides, he had Kat and the club to think about. What would Kat do without him? If he pledged himself for real, he couldn’t in good conscience pretend to be Kat’s slave any longer. It wouldn’t feel right. And he’d want to share the Incognito experience with Carmen. He had a feeling there were a lot of aspects of the club she’d enjoy. He didn’t know where Carmen was from or how long she was staying. From what he’d gleaned from Dalton the night the Montgomerys called to ask if they could bring a guest to the auction, it sounded as if she’d come for a visit, and that was all. No, he thought as he opened his eyes and gazed into her beautiful face. This was nothing more than a sweet interlude. He had a life that didn’t have room for another Domme. And she probably had a full, happy life elsewhere. Carmen’s eyelids fluttered open, and she met his eyes. He dropped his gaze. “Qué hora es?” she asked, her voice husky. Little more than a sexy, dreamy murmur. He loved it when she spoke Spanish. It was such a sultry language, and she made it more so, even if he couldn’t understand what she said. “I’m sorry?” he replied. “What time is it?” “Oh. About four in the morning.”
50
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Why aren’t you sleeping?” She yawned, covering her mouth with a small, delicate hand. “I...” Had too many things on my mind to sleep. Instead he said, “I am awake in case you need my services.” She blinked once, and her expression softened. Her full, pink lips curved into a sensuous smile. “I’ve never met another man like you.” “Thank you, Mistress.” Her eyelids slowly closed, and he thought she was falling back to sleep, but then she asked, “Was what we did normal for you?” She opened her eyes and snared his gaze. “Do you do that for every woman you have sex with?” He swallowed hard. Tempted to lie, he wanted to tell her that nothing out of the ordinary had happened between them. But trust was vital in a D/s relationship. He knew that above all he had to be honest with her. “No, Mistress.” She reached out and touched his cheek, laid her palm against his jaw, and skimmed her thumb over his lips. “I enjoyed...having sex with you.” He kissed the pad of her thumb, gave it a quick lick and nip. “I enjoyed it, too.” “Can I have more?” she whispered. “I want to do it again.” So did he. His cock throbbed with need. “Tell me.” “I want you to kiss my lips and lay over me. I want to feel your whole body as you make lo—” She stopped and bit her bottom lip with straight, white teeth. “I want to feel all of you as you fuck me.” Make love to me, she’d almost said. He was surprised she went out of her way to maintain an emotional distance. Women normally didn’t do that. He took it as a sign that she didn’t want anything beyond sex. But she asked him to kiss her lips. He dropped his gaze to her full, beautiful mouth. It had been so long since he shared such intimacies with a woman.
51
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Leaning close, he brushed his lips over hers. With a soft purr, she shuddered, shut her eyes, and planted her mouth fully against his. She ran her hand into his hair, pulling him closer to her. “Sí,” she said on a sigh when he moved to kiss her neck, nibble her ear. “Mmm. Muy bueno.” “Tell me what to do, Mistress. Tell me.” “Touch me. Touch my breasts. My pussy. Make me tingle.” His own lust hit a fevered pitch at her demands. She was a natural Domme. She was perfect. He kissed her lips, nibbled her shoulder and, plumping her breasts, first suckled one fat nipple, then the other. She writhed against him, nudging his dick. He moved back to her lips and speared his tongue into her mouth at the same moment he plowed his fingers through her tight curls and stroked her clit. She was already hot, already wet, her little nub hard and pulsing. Arching up against his hand, she whimpered into his mouth. When he raised his head, she panted. “More. Kiss me harder.” She clutched at his shoulders, trying to pull him closer. “Carl, I need...” “What? Tell me what you need. Please, say it.” She squeezed her eyes tight, grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand away from her cunt. “Inside me. Now. Please.” Carl moved over her, her gloriously soft body welcoming him. Holding himself up on his elbows, he touched her cheeks, sipped at her lips, nuzzled her neck with his nose and open‐mouthed kisses. When she raised her knees, allowing him entrance, he slowly slid into her, amazed once again at how deep she took him, how tight she hugged his cock. “I want you to come inside me. I want to feel you come. Is that okay? Will you do that?” Gritting his teeth against the need to pound into her and take his climax as fast and hard as he possibly could, he nodded. “Yes, Mistress.” He flexed his hips, slid deeper into her, and repeated, “Yesss, Mistress.” “Béseme, Carl. Kiss me now.” He captured her mouth with his. Her cunt contracted around his cock with every thrust of his tongue into her. It took all his will to keep
52
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton from moaning. She felt too good. Fit him too perfectly. Her ankles locked behind his ass, and she raised herself up to take him that last final depth. Oh, God. She gripped his shoulders, her fingernails scoring his flesh. She tore her mouth from his. “Move, damn it! Fuck me!” He didn’t need to be told twice. He drove into her hard, and she bucked against him. She screamed and pressed her head into the pillow, baring her neck. He leaned down and lightly nipped her flesh. She bucked again. “More!” He slid one arm beneath her, raised her slightly so he could taste her nipples, and slammed into her repeatedly. Her pussy clenched hard, and he knew she was about to climax, her pants short and sharp. He grabbed one thigh and brought her leg over his shoulder as he raised up on one arm over her. On his next stroke, she screamed, dug her sharp little nails into his biceps and came long and hard, her inner muscles squeezing him, milking him. “Come now, Carl. Oh, yes, now!” she shouted as she strained against him. One more hard stroke, and he let himself go with a shout. “Yes, my mistress.” * * * * * “Fuck me harder. You know what I want. Do it, damn it. You do what I tell you.” Carmen came awake with a gasp. A heavy arm anchored her to the bed, hot breath on the back of her neck, a soft snore from her bedmate. Panic shot through her when she opened her eyes and didn’t know where she was, who was behind her, but then realization dawned. Carl... She’d been dreaming of Sal The Asshole. She hadn’t slept with him
53
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton since he tossed two hundred bucks on the nightstand after they’d had a night of hot, sweaty sex. He’d thought she was a whore. Carl! As if she’d been slugged, nausea swirled in her stomach. “Oh, cielos,” she whispered. “Por amor de Dios.” She was no better than The Asshole. She carefully slid to the edge of the bed. When she got out from beneath Carl’s arm, he pulled her pillow to his chest and buried his face into it. What have I done? What have I done? She was going to be sick. She ran for the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face. She’d paid for sex. She bought him for six thousand dollars. She told him how to fuck her. Ordered him to... She had to get out. Get away. She gathered her clothes from the floor, grabbed her overnight bag, and carried them out to the living room before getting dressed. “Mierda,” she cursed. She was a horrible person. He’d only done what she wanted, and she’d used him like a man‐whore. Shit, she thought again. Once her clothes were on, she headed for the door. She paused and looked toward the bedroom as tears stung her eyes. Guilt rode her hard, but was running away the right thing to do? She didn’t know. She didn’t know what to do or what to say to him if she woke him up to tell him she was leaving. “Lo siento,” she whispered into the silent room. “Dios, Carl. I’m so sorry.” She blinked back the tears trying to break free and quietly let herself out of the cottage. Once she hit the path toward the parking lot, she broke into a run. She had to go. Had to get away. How could she have done that to him? “Carmen?” She skidded to a stop when she heard her name—spun to the right to see Kat and Dalton heading toward her from another pathway. Oh, no! Not only had she fucked the man, but he was taken. Taken!
54
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Kat’s man. She clamped her hand over her mouth to stifle the sob. How in the hell could she have forgotten that for even one second? “Carmen?” Dalton said as they drew nearer. “What’s wrong? What’s happened?” She couldn’t take her eyes off of Kat. She was so pretty. So... She looked different today, wearing faded jeans and a T‐shirt, her makeup subdued rather than brazen. No wonder Carl loved her. “I’m so sorry,” she blurted out as a fresh flood of tears streamed down her cheeks. “I didn’t mean to do it. It just happened. I—” Kat’s eyes widened. “What did you do?” “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Please don’t hold this against the Montgomerys. They love this place. It’s not their fault I—” “Carl!” Kat took off at a dead run in the direction of the cottage. Please, Lord, let the ground swallow me. Dalton grabbed her by the shoulders and turned her to face him. “What the hell happened?” The tears broke free. “I—I—I had sex with Carl, and I paid for it!”

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton
Chapter Six “Carl! Carl, damn it, wake up!” Carl groaned and rolled over, frowning at Kat’s strident shriek. “Goddammit, woman, it’s my day off.” “What did she do to you? Are you okay? Where are you hurt?” Carl finally opened his eyes, bright sunlight nearly blinding him. When he realized where he was, that he was naked and Kat was on the bed with him, he almost rolled off the edge. “What the fuck are you doing here?” He gathered the sheet around him toga‐style and dodged Kat’s hand as she tried to touch his forehead. “Carmen said she—well, she didn’t say what she did to you, just that she was so sorry, and I—” “Carmen...” Looking around, he couldn’t find her. “Where is she?” Kat stared at him as if she thought him mad, raised a finger toward the door, and said, “She left.” “Left? She can’t!” He scrambled from the bed, tripped as his feet tangled in the sheet, and stumbled through the door. “Hey! Carl...?” He didn’t stop at Kat’s concerned call. Holding the sheet at his waist with one fist, he slammed the other against the front door to shove his way outside and ran down the path—just in time to see Carmen slip behind the wheel of a sleek little convertible.
56
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Carmen, stop!” She glanced his way. The engine rumbled to life. Carl ran, uncaring of the expense his bare feet would pay for his dash across the crushed seashell lot. He darted past Dalton, vaguely heard him say something about a torn‐up check, and skidded to a halt in front of the car. He slapped a hand on the hood. Having been looking over her shoulder to back up, she spun around to face him and frowned. He could tell she’d been crying. Her cheeks were damp and splotchy. Her eyes still glistened with unshed tears. “Get out of the way.” She fought with the gearshift to get it into first, grinding the gears. “Mistress, stop. Please—” “Don’t call me that. I’m n‐not your mistress. K‐Kat is. I’ve no right to do what I did to you. I’m s‐so sorry.” “No, wait. What you did? Mis—Carmen, wait. Let’s talk about this.” Her grip tightened on the steering wheel. She squeezed her eyes shut tight. He took advantage of that, rounded the hood of the car, and leapt over the door to plop onto the passenger’s seat. The move startled her. “What do you think you’re doing? Get out.” “No.” She scowled at him. “I said, get out.” He turned toward the door but, instead of opening it, he buckled himself in with the seatbelt. She gaped then shouted, “Katriona, come and get your slave out of my car.” Carl crossed his arms over his bare chest, cast a glance down to ensure the sheet still hid everything important, and gave her an I’m‐not‐ going‐anywhere smirk. “What seems to be the problem now?” Dalton said, approaching the car with Kat by his side.
57
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Your slave will not obey and get out of my car.” Kat looked at him then at Carmen. “He does have a tendency to misbehave, but you see, today’s his day off. He only answers to my orders when on the clock so‐to‐speak. The rest of the time...” She gave a sympathetic, and completely helpless, shrug. Carl bit the inside of his right cheek to keep the smile from escaping. “Dalton...?” Carmen asked in a tone emblazoned with last‐ditch hopefulness. “Don’t look at me. He’s never obeyed me worth a damn.” She slapped the steering wheel with an exasperated, “Ugh!” Carl ducked his head to hide his grin as she rattled off a string of Spanish—expletives, no doubt. “I’m afraid you’ll have to explain to him what you told me,” Dalton continued. “Trust him to hear you out, and listen to whatever it is he’s so determined to discuss with you. Then, if you still want to part company, I’m sure you’ll find a way to kick him out, sheet and all.” She gave him a long, hard look. He didn’t see it, but he felt it. “Will you. Please. Get. Out.” She spoke as if she were talking to a hardheaded child or thought he lacked understanding of the English language. “No, ma’am.” He kept his face and gaze down, although he could spot her scowl out of the corner of his eye. “Not until we talk...in private,” he said, adding the last part as a not‐so‐subtle hint to the other dominant persons present. The crunch of seashells told him they heard his message and willingly offered him the privacy he needed. “I’m warning you; I’m leaving.” He didn’t budge, not even an eyelash. “You can’t ride around town like that. Get out, and I’ll call you later.” He grinned, shook his head, and didn’t believe her for a minute. “Fine! Fuck it. If you want to sit there like some frat‐boy at a toga party, be my guest, but don’t expect me to put the roof up.”
58
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton She slammed her foot on the gas pedal and peeled out of the driveway. Wind whipped at his hair and the corner of the sheet that hung over the door. He gathered it in and held onto it. He knew his cover wouldn’t blow out since he sat on some of it, but he didn’t need a white flag waving at every passing motorist. He’d been in costume and seated in Kat’s Vette while pulled over by a cop one too many times already. He didn’t feel like explaining his choice of attire, or lack thereof, to anyone else with a badge and handcuffs. Especially with a distraught, teary‐eyed woman at the wheel. Thankfully she didn’t drive recklessly once the tires hit blacktop. “Carmen, say something,” he said, his tone guarded, his volume loud enough to overcome the wind. She ignored him and turned on the radio, tuned to a Spanish station. Okay. He had one pissed off Domme on his hands, and no clue as to why. But if she wasn’t going to talk, then he would. She hadn’t ordered him to be quiet and, with the way they were going, he doubted he would obey even if she did. “If you don’t want to talk, that’s fine. I’m a very patient man. I can wait as long as it takes.” She glanced his way then glared back at the road, her luscious lips pressing into a tight, thin line. He let several more miles go by—waited for her to turn onto a residential street that he recognized. It led to the Montgomerys’ estate. “Are you from Spain, too? Any relation to the Montgomerys?” No answer. “Have you known Olivia long? Dalton said you were their guest at the club.” No response. “Do you realize how adorably sexy you look when you’re angry?” Her jaw ticked, her knuckles whitened, but she kept silent. The wind whipped her long hair about, which added to the vision of feminine
59
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton pique. After a while, she turned into the drive and pulled into a slot in the multi‐car garage. He watched her turn off the engine and remove the key before he opened his own car door to get out. She got out and started to walk away. He rounded the car to follow. “Mistress, please—” She spun around to face him. “I said don’t call me that.” He stood still, the sheet like a drape around his legs. “What did I do that was so wrong that you had to leave...?” He left off the word me at the end as an odd, uncomfortable tug in his chest made him wonder at the importance of that question. Why should it matter so much to him? Her expression softened. “Oh, no. Dios, no. You did nothing wrong.” Tears once more beaded along her lower lashes. A blink released one to trail down her cheek. “Don’t you see? I did.” “You?” He took a tentative step forward, the urge to snatch her into his arms strong. “You told me you aren’t a gigolo, but I treated you like one. I paid for you, had sex with you.” She turned away. “The things I said...the things I ordered you to do...all for money.” “No!” He grabbed her shoulders and spun her around to face him. The sheet fell in a pile at his feet, and he didn’t care one whit. “I’m so sorry, Carl, but you don’t belong to me. I had no right to—” He kissed her hard, shutting off her apology. How could she possibly think the night they’d had together—that everything he’d done— had been for money? He recalled Dalton’s words earlier and pulled back enough to ask, “Dalton tore up your check, didn’t he?” She tried to push away, but he held on to her upper arms. Her palms pressed against his bare chest. Her gaze locked with his. “It changes nothing except that the women’s shelter pays the price for my stupidity.” A sudden wave of anger swept through him. He shook her once, just enough to cause her eyes to widen and her lips to part. “You did nothing wrong. Do you understand me? Nothing.” She was already shaking her head, so he released her arms to cradle
60
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton her face. “You bought a three‐day stay in a cottage with me to serve your meals and pamper you with an occasional massage. What I chose to do beyond that was my choice to make. I did what I did because I wanted to, not because you’d bid in a charity auction. You didn’t offer to pay me to hold you in my arms. I wouldn’t accept a dime for the time I shared with you in that bed, and you damn sure aren’t paying me to do this.” He claimed her mouth in another kiss, this one filled with all of the frustration and need that dueled inside his body. She stiffened for a brief moment before melting against him. He wrapped an arm around her to hold her in place while he continued to explore the warm recesses of her mouth with his tongue. Slowly her hands crept upward, over his shoulders and around his neck. His cock was now the only stiff thing between them. He swept her up into his arms and carried her to the entry door of the house. After a muffled yelp, because he refused to release her from the kiss, she clung to him, but he noticed her grip wasn’t nearly as tight as the last time when she’d feared he might drop her. That flicker of increased trust made him smile as he pulled away to look at her. Without a word, she turned the knob, and he stepped into a large, immaculate kitchen. He let the door close and moved toward the granite countertop island, but she said, “Stop.” Years of training as a submissive kicked in enough that his steps halted instantly. But he didn’t release her or put her down. He thought she was having second thoughts, and as much as he wanted to fuck her, he wouldn’t force her to do something she didn’t want to do. He held his breath, but released it on a sigh when he realized the error of his assumption the moment she said, “The alarm. I have to turn it off.” He turned back to see a keypad on the wall and carried her near it. After she punched in the code, she wrapped her arms back around his neck and laid her head on his shoulder. Carl closed his eyes briefly, raised his face toward the ceiling, and
61
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton took a deep breath. He wanted to see her stretched out on a bed, her ebony waves spread out to frame her face, but the urgent throb in his cock had him heading for the island instead. He set her on the countertop and nudged his hips between her legs. With one arm around her, he ran his other palm gently over her cheek, down her neck, and let his gaze follow. Her eyes were shut, her kiss‐plumped lips slightly parted, and she lifted her chin in sweet invitation—one that he was more than willing to accept. He pressed a kiss to her chin then traced the delicate line of her jaw with more light nips. When he locked on to the tender skin just below her ear, the short nails of her fingers bit into his back. He suckled there because he wanted to and knew by the telltale whimper that escaped her mouth that she wanted him there, too. The suction with which he drew on her flesh would leave a mark, at least for a little while, and the idea of seeing his mark on her body made him that much harder. He slipped a hand beneath the T‐shirt she wore and cupped a breast, pleased to discover she hadn’t donned a bra. Without asking, he lifted the shirt. When she raised her arms to let him remove it entirely, he smiled. She lowered her arms, leaned back on her hands, and gazed at him through thick lashes. He didn’t meet her eyes, instead choosing to watch his hand as he trailed it over her body from her jaw to her navel and up to her perfectly rounded breasts. His other hand remained splayed on her thigh, his thumb lightly caressing the smooth flesh mere centimeters from where he most wanted to be. He inched the hand closer and slipped a couple of fingertips beneath the hem of her shorts. He looked up to see her eyelids drift lower and the pink tip of her tongue sneak out to swipe across her lips. He flicked his thumb across one erect nipple and noticed the catch in her breath. His cock throbbed with the need to slide into her moist depths, to feel her warm body grip him in divine torture, but he didn’t want this time with her to be only about what he wanted. He had to show her that what he’d done at her command the night before fulfilled his wish as well
62
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton as her own. That he chose to serve her, pleasure her, lo—make love to her. He bent over her to lave the tip of one breast. His fingers went to work on removing her athletic shorts. She lifted her hips, which enabled him to slide them down her legs and over her sneaker‐clad feet. He didn’t bother to remove her shoes. She hadn’t bothered to wear panties. And he didn’t know whether that meant she never wore them or she had been in such a rush to leave him that she didn’t waste time with extra layers of clothing. He sucked her nipple into his mouth while his hands rubbed circles over her thighs, hips, and buttocks. He moved on to devote the same attention to her other breast and, although his thumbs drew nearer to her cunt, he held off. Close enough to make her whine and slide forward. He longed to hear her tell him what she wanted, but knew now was not the time to ask for such things. Besides, even if she kept silent, her naturally dominant nature made her demands clear in other ways. Her nipples were hard. Her back arched, and her hips lifted toward his touch. As her ass balanced on the edge of the island’s countertop, the heels of her sneakers made their presence known with nudges on the back of his thighs. He got the picture and fought with a smile as he kissed his way down her body. He paused to lightly tongue her navel then positioned her legs over his shoulders. But instead of going where she urged him to go— where he wanted to be—he turned and bit her inner thigh hard enough to make her gasp, but not hard enough to cause real harm. She held herself up with one hand and grabbed a handful of his hair with her other. Yes, she liked that, so he did it again and felt the urgent tug on his head—an attempt to make him hurry. As you wish, he thought with an inner smile. He ran his tongue over her thigh in tiny circles, each one drawing nearer to her center. Then without warning, he jabbed a finger into her wet pussy. “Oh! Ohh...” Her startled cry turned into an erotic hum as he added a second finger and then a third in rapid succession. With each thrust, he curled his fingers to rub across her G‐spot while he used his other hand to
63
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton tease and pluck at her clit. Her heels dug into his back, her fist tightened on his hair, and her thighs shuddered with simmering arousal. He couldn’t wait another second; he had to taste her, make her come. He pushed deep inside her and timed the thrust perfectly with the hard suck of his mouth on her clit. A second and third draw followed. By the forth, she came with a long, sharp scream, her body wracked with shivers. He pumped his fingers into her some more to draw out the last of her orgasm and drank in the juices of her climax. When he finally stood, he realized she’d collapsed back onto both elbows, her chest rising rapidly with each pant she took. Her eyes remained closed. Her head was tipped back, and her legs hung in a limp sprawl over each of his arms. She was the very image of a sensual siren, sated on pleasure, and a temptation to sin. He was just getting started. His cock ached for more of her, a need he chose to answer with a quick, solid thrust into her body. “Oh, fuck!” The intensity of Carmen’s exclamation matched the spike of pleasure that sliced through his body. He damn near climaxed right then. Every muscle he had locked up in his attempt to stay the rising tide. He gritted his teeth and froze, his cock buried to the hilt. He sucked in a huge lungful of air and squeezed his eyes shut until a kaleidoscope of light burst inside his mind. He held still, too afraid to move, while the walls of her pussy contracted around his cock in the most exquisite torment. He felt every beat of his heart pulse inside his cock like a constant jab prodding him to move. Take. Seek his own release. After a moment, she raised her head and opened her eyes to reveal a dark, passionate temptation. He knew he should look away, but she’d captured him with such unvarnished desire that he might as well have been bound hand and foot to her side. Her lips opened on a sigh, and he was drawn in. He had to taste
64
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton her. Fuck her. Make her his.... My mistress. He lifted her toward him with a hand at her nape and claimed her mouth with his own. Her arms wrapped around him in a sweet embrace. He pulled his hips back and shoved forward again. And again, never once releasing her from the kiss that bound him to her with a strength that surpassed any chain. He grabbed her ass with both hands and held her firm while he powered into her. She threw back her head with a gasp for air, and he latched onto her neck. She clawed at his back and met each thrust. Her pussy fisted him, milked him, enclosed him in moist heat. His balls drew up tight, the climax imminent, but his mind fought against it. “Mistress, please! I can’t—” “Come,” she shouted. He rammed in hard, lodged against her womb, and welcomed the orgasm that erupted from him.

Chapter Seven Fully dressed again in T‐shirt and shorts, Carmen sat at the kitchen table, a mug of warm, creamed coffee between her hands. She took a sip to cover her smile as she watched a bare‐assed Carl bend over to search through the refrigerator, much of his upper body hidden by the door. “You hungry?” he asked. “I’m starving.” That word certainly held more meaning for her at the moment. “Do you like melons?” She liked the view of his backside better. “Mmm hmm.” “Then, how about a fruit salad?” How could she be thinking of sex so soon after...? She lowered her gaze to stare at the coffee he’d made for her. She should be conjuring up a plan to send Carl back to Katriona, not plotting to tie him to the bed for an all‐day orgy of two. Katriona. Mierda. Why was it that she kept forgetting he belonged to someone else? “Mistress?” Carmen blinked, looked up, and found Carl eyeing her, the island now strategically placed to block her view of... “Umm. What was the question?” He began slicing a melon. “Fruit salad? Is that okay for breakfast?”
66
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton She dropped her gaze to the coffee again. “Sure. Whatever’s fine.” Katriona obviously cared for her slave if her reaction this morning was any indication. And why wouldn’t she? The man was perfect. An excellent cook, an even better lover, and the man had marvelous, talented hands. So, why had Kat let him go with her today? Carl set a bowl of fresh fruit and a side dish of cubed cheese in front of her, then retrieved a juice glass and poured her a small amount of orange juice. His nudity didn’t seem to faze him as he moved around the kitchen, but it was a big distraction to her. “Carl.” She pointed at the chair to her left. “Sit. Eat.” “Yes, ma’am,” he said with a rather cocky grin. He made up a second serving and sat as ordered. While he ate, she stared and let her mind ponder what had been bugging her since bumping into Katriona that morning. Now that her emotions were back under control, now that she had time to think about what happened, some things just didn’t add up. “What’s the deal between you and Katriona?” He swallowed the bite he’d been chewing. “The deal?” “Don’t be dense. You know what I mean. If you were mine, I’d...” No she couldn’t say that. Keeping him in her bed day and night was no more possible than stopping the passage of time. His gaze snapped to hers. “You’d what?” “I would never let you ride off to points unknown with a woman I met only two days before.” He shrugged and stuffed another bite in his mouth, his gaze returning to his meal. She leaned her forearms on the table. “Why did she let you go with me? It doesn’t make any sense. From what Olivia’s told me, there are different kinds of subs. She lives with her ‘owner husbands’ 24/7, and she’s just a pet. You’re Kat’s slave, but only while on the clock? Your mistress lives with another Dom while you’re left to your own devices at Incognito. Look at me, will you?”
67
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton He took a deep breath, sat a little straighter in his chair, and met her gaze head‐on. “Tell me. What gives?” “Katriona is my boss, the club’s head mistress.” She gave him a scowl, the type that usually made her former housekeeping staff at the hotel wary. “None of which answers my question, so there’s gotta be a but in there somewhere.” His jaw ticked, and he dropped his gaze to the food on his plate. “But...she’s not really my mistress.” Carmen widened her eyes. “You aren’t really a slave?” He could’ve fooled her. “No, I’m not. I mean, I am a submissive lover; I’m just not her sub, at least...not intimately.” “You mean to tell me you’ve never had sex with her? Made out? Kissed?” He appeared very uneasy, but she didn’t withdraw her question. She wanted answers because, as much as she found him fascinating and enjoyed her first dip into the BDSM lifestyle, she drew the line at taking another woman’s man. “We performed a scene once in the main room at Incognito. I masturbated her to orgasm. It was all a big misunderstanding and should’ve never happened. That was the first and last time I’ve ever touched her that way.” “So it’s like a role you play...when you act as her slave at the club.” More sure of her grasp of the situation, her words were more statement than question. “Yes. As founder of the club, she needed a domineering persona and the only way to prove she was a mistress that dominant members would listen to and respect was to have a slave. I filled that position.” She sat back in her chair, mug in hand, and eyed him over the rim. He isn’t really Katriona’s. Her thoughts kept coming back to that one fact. “What do you get out of the deal?” “What do you mean?”
68
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “You’ve pretended to be a slave for years. I can see why Katriona wouldn’t want a club full of Doms eyeing her, but what about you? If you’re a sub, like you say, then why accept such a superficial existence? Did you not want a real relationship with a mistress, whether full or part time?” He shrugged, took another bite of cantaloupe, and chased it down with a healthy swallow of two‐percent milk. Had he never really submitted to a woman before? As she watched him stuff another bite in his mouth, his gaze never lifting from the tabletop, Carmen became suspicious. It’s all been a game to him, years of sexual playtime without any real commitment. “You’re a fake,” she accused, which got his attention real quick. She had to fight to keep her facial expression impassive. The urge to smile was strong. “Excuse me?” He’d dropped the “mistress” talk, but she didn’t call him on it. Not, yet. “I haven’t been trained as a Domme, although I’ve learned a lot about my nature from talking and listening to Olivia.” She leaned forward. “I spent years catering to total strangers, first as a maid, and eventually as the head of housekeeping at a five‐star hotel. I hated it, but I did it because it was my job. Although I never really understood what it was that bothered me until Olivia moved here and opened a window into the world of BDSM. But you...” “What about me?” His question came out like a challenge. Had her remark pricked a nerve to his male pride? “You say you’re a sub, yet you control everything.” She lifted her mug and took a sip. “You’re a very good actor, but I doubt any Domme has ever truly affected you—ever succeeded in gaining your real subjugation. Your submission is all just a giant puzzle of smoke and mirrors, a game you play with others who are unaware they’re even on a chessboard.” He scoffed, but his bowed head was telling. His apparent inability to meet her gaze was not the result of submissiveness. No, he couldn’t
69
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton look her in the eye because she was right. He ducked his head to avoid giving away his real thoughts. She sensed it. Felt it. Believed it. “And I suppose you’re woman enough to do what you say all of the other Dommes couldn’t?” Yes, that was undoubtedly a challenge in his tone. She gave a short bark of laughter. “I’m still new to all of this. I wouldn’t dare be so bold as to claim an ability to take on someone—like yourself—who is experienced in the ways of role‐playing.” He pushed a few pieces of fruit around on his plate but didn’t say anything, so she let silence reign for several minutes. She hadn’t lied about being a novice at D/s protocol. She was following instinct more than training. But it didn’t take a brain surgeon to realize the man seated before her had tossed out that challenge on purpose. The trick now was to accept it without giving the game away. Lowering her voice to ensure he had to listen carefully to catch her words, she said, “But I would like to learn from you.” That brought his gaze back to hers, if only for a moment. “Learn?” “Yes. You’ve been trained in dominance and submission techniques, haven’t you?” “Yes....” “You could teach me how to be a good dominatrix, couldn’t you? Show me what’s important to a sub?” When he looked up at her again, she forked a cube of fruit into her mouth and chewed. She didn’t look away and tried like hell to keep her expression hopeful and innocent. “The Montgomerys are gone for a while. We could conduct the training here, whenever you have free time away from the club. I don’t want to keep you from your work.” After a suspended pause, he finally said, “I guess I could show you a few things, if that is your wish, Mistress.” She smiled at him. “Thank you...Carl.” “And if you’ll answer me one question?” She studied his face. He certainly didn’t have a problem looking
70
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton her in the eye now. “What’s that?” “What do you hope to do with this knowledge?” His question held just a hint of suspicion—enough that she decided to answer truthfully, but with caution. She wasn’t so foolish to announce her hopes that the tutor and student relationship might lead to something stronger between them. “All my adult life, I’ve tried to find a man who cared about me more than himself. That might seem selfish to you but, after a lifetime spent catering to the whims and demands of spoiled, wealthy hotel guests, I’d like my personal life to be different, not more of the same.” Now it was her turn to push food around on her plate. How much should she share with him? When he just sat there waiting for her to continue, she took a fortifying breath, but shook her head. Carl’s hand reached across the table to cover hers. The sympathetic look he gave her made her want to open up, to tell him everything. But she couldn’t. Not now. Not yet. She stared at his hand, turned hers over, and laced their fingers together. “I don’t expect to be pampered 24/7. I’m not looking for a slave, but I’ve been on the receiving end of a selfish, domineering personality. As a Domme, I don’t want to make that kind of mistake with a sub who trusts me to do it right.” His fingers squeezed hers, drawing her gaze back to his. He smiled. “You’re already halfway there.” “What do you mean?” “Trust. You’ve already identified one of the most important foundations on which a BDSM relationship is based.” She sighed. “Yeah, well, trust is essential for any relationship, if you ask me.” She released his hand and turned her focus to the rest of her meal, which was surprisingly tasty and filling. Carl watched her facial expression take on a melancholy shadow and suspected he’d only heard part of the story. Carmen had been betrayed somehow, although he didn’t believe she’d welcome any more probing questions from him right now, so he finished his breakfast in
71
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton silence. After a while, he pushed away from the table and began clearing the dishes. She got up and helped him, stopping only once to challenge him with a raised eyebrow when he paused for a second to stare at her. When they were done, he took her hand and without a word guided her out of the kitchen and dining room. He wasn’t all that certain how to handle her so‐called training, but at least he knew where he could begin. “Where exactly are we going?” “To our classroom,” he said, tossing her a wink over his shoulder. He’d been in the Montgomery home numerous times over the years for various events, so he knew where much of the bondage gadgets were stashed, like those in the arbor outside. But he didn’t take her there. Instead, he led her up the sweeping staircase that split to curve up both sides of the mansion’s elegant round vestibule. At the top of the stairs, he turned toward the double doors of the master suite, a room he’d seen only one time before during a party hosted by Dylan and Ryan. The brothers had just received a multi‐functional, custom‐made bed and showed it off to Katriona as a possible furniture option for the fetish club. “Uh...” She tugged on her arm, seemingly reluctant to enter the room once their destination became obvious. He stopped, turned, and released her hand. “Mistress?” “That’s a bedroom.” “Yes, Mistress.” He smiled. “I mean, that’s their bedroom.” He gave her a quizzical look. “Did they instruct that any room was off‐limits during your stay here?” “Well, no. They said I was to make myself at home.” Carl let his smile turn into a full‐blown grin. He held out his hand toward her. “Come on, Mistress. I promise to behave.” She took his hand, but her grumbled, “That’s what I’m afraid of,” made him laugh. He brought her to the foot of the enormous four‐poster bed, which was the centerpiece of the large room. Intricate ironwork of ivy and
72
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton grapevines decorated the four massive columns of the bed that supported an iron canopy and sheer lace curtains. He faced her, both of her hands held in his. “Do you trust me, Carmen?” he asked, using her name on purpose to emphasize the importance of the question. “Yes.” Her answer came quick, which both surprised and pleased him. “To learn how to treat a sub, one must understand the needs and desires of a sub.” “That makes sense,” she said, looking up at him. He let his thumbs caress the back of her hands. “One of the best ways to do that is to experience submission firsthand.” “You mean...” He nodded. “Those being trained in the ways of BDSM often switch places to learn to see things from the other side. Some do it initially to determine which avenue best suits them. Are they Doms or subs? Sometimes a Dom might temporarily submit for one scene to experience things only a sub does—” “Such as?” “Subspace.” She looked dumbfounded, so he added, “It’s when submissives lose themselves to their arousal—a heightened state of awareness and sensation often caused by excessive stimulation through genital masturbation or endorphins induced through various forms of punishment.” He’d heard of it, witnessed it, and could recite the definition verbatim, but had never succumbed enough to truly experience it himself. Such an experience would require more of him than he’d ever been willing to give to those he’d played with at the club. But he mentioned it now because she should know if she were to become a great dominatrix. “That’s one example. Others want to know what it feels like to be bound and punished so that they can better relate to their subs when administering discipline.”
73
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Take a walk in another’s shoes.” She worried her bottom lip, the brief glimpses of straight white teeth tantalizing to his senses. He nodded. “Exactly. Are you still interested in being trained?” Please, let her say yes! He wanted nothing more at the moment than to train her to be his mistress. The idea of ever finding a woman willing to seek his advice on how to treat him as a sub had never crossed his mind—not that she’d said he was the sub she had in mind. Regardless, she’d given him a golden opportunity that he didn’t want to pass up. “Yes.” She licked her lip, and he had the strongest urge to kiss her. Without releasing her hands, he moved them around behind her and pulled her into a quick, hard embrace. He heard her breath catch in her throat, saw her lips part, her eyes widen. “Spontaneity is one goal of a good Dom,” he said while lowering his mouth to hover just over hers. “Repetition can dull the senses.” He nipped her bottom lip with his teeth hard enough to sting and heard her hiss. “But the unexpected can stir the emotions and keep things interesting.” He kissed her, a quick and thorough mating of mouths. Then he pulled back in a sudden release and noted the rapid pulse in her wrists, which he still held clasped at the small of her back. “I could’ve said, ‘Let the scene begin’, but that would’ve been rather dull, don’t you think?” She ran her own tongue over where he’d bit her and held his gaze. “Mmm. I would have to agree with that.” “Your heart rate is up. Your speech is breathy. All signs of arousal. A good Dom is always aware of physical signs that can provide clues to a sub’s thoughts, desires, and needs.” “Oh, yeah?” she began with a smile. “What am I thinking right now, then?” He grinned. She was too brazen to ever be truly submissive. God, I love a brazen nature in a woman. “That you’re more than ready for a nice, hard fucking. But that only brings us to another responsibility of a good Dom.” She lifted onto her toes, the front of her clothed body offering the
74
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton sweetest friction against him. “Is that so?” Her voice was that of a siren’s song, a temptation he struggled to ignore. “To ensure his own pleasures and that of his sub’s by enforcing patience despite all seduction or urgings to act in haste.” Though his words spoke of patience, his body reacted with haste. His cock hardened. His heart raced. And his lungs labored for calm. Her lips formed a moue. Damn! He wanted to kiss her again—keep kissing her until his every breath was but a memory. He cradled her face and looked into her soul. “As a Domme, you will be entrusted with power over another, but with that comes a heavy burden of responsibility. Not only is a sub’s physical pleasure at stake, but so is the sub’s daily needs, both physical and emotional. Whether to submit and to whom is a sub’s choice. That submission, the ultimate trust of a sub, is a gift not to be taken lightly, because it all too often involves the heart.” Her eyes had started to glisten until she closed them tightly. He shook his head at his own comments. Although they were true, he had the sudden urge to backtrack—to clarify... He released her and took a step back. “That’s just something to keep in mind,” he said once he’d gained some distance between them. “For when you find an available sub you want to collar. Subs can be rather needy, especially the ones new to BDSM. If you’re not careful, you can hurt them in more ways than one.” She blinked at him, silent and still. “Ready for your next lesson in dominatrix school?” He felt like an awkward schoolboy on his first date. This wasn’t as easy as it seemed—to prepare her to be the perfect Domme for him without giving up too much control. She’d been right on target when she mentioned his not giving in to others. He hadn’t really thought much of it until now. But he had always directed things through subtle signals to Katriona. Having her act as his mistress provided a barrier that protected him from getting too emotionally involved with those he fucked. No one had ever challenged

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton him; he’d never had to use his safe word, because no Domme had pushed him to his limits, much less tried to go beyond them. The scenes he participated in with other club members were always just that—scenes, quick sex, and never anything that might lead to more. When a scene ended, he went back to Kat, and the other Domme or sub—whichever Kat paired with him—went on her way. No strings attached. So why did he find the thought of doing the same now disturbing? “Yes.” “Excuse me?” he asked. “Yes, I’m ready.” She paused then added, “You asked if I was ready for more instruction.” “Of course.” Shit. He needed to keep focused. “For your next lesson, we’ll go over...uh...bondage techniques.”

Chapter Eight “Ooookay,” she said with a look that said she wasn’t exactly as ready as her answer might imply. He gave her a smile before telling her to sit at the foot of the bed. When she did, he went to a nearby cabinet where he knew the Montgomerys kept various cuffs, belts, and other essentials for use with their own submissive mate. He gathered several different items including a blindfold, but he left the flogger in the drawer. He could teach Carmen many aspects of dominance and discipline, but there were some things she’d have to learn on her own. Although he’d felt the erotic sting of the lash before and understood the allure of sensations it could bring forth, he’d never wielded a flogger against another person, male or female, and he didn’t intend to do so now. After carrying the items he’d chosen back to the bed, he laid them out next to her. She looked over the items and, in typical Domme fashion, reached for one without permission. When he grabbed her wrist in a hard grip, she turned surprised eyes toward him. “The lesson has begun, Carmen,” he said, using her name on purpose. “As the sub in this scene, you have to ask for permission. You have no authority to act upon your own wishes without that permission.” Her mouth opened slightly, but then it closed, and she nodded. The motion, so much like a nod of permission from her, made him want to smile.

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “May I ask a question?” He released the smile then and answered, “Yes, you may.” “What should I call you?” she asked, then added, “during this scene, I mean.” “I’m not really a Dom, so Carl will do.” He grabbed a pair of wrist cuffs. “Stand up and turn around. Put your hands behind your back.” She was hesitant but obeyed, although she watched him over her shoulder. He fastened one cuff to her wrist and let his thumb graze the pulse point before attaching the other cuff. “Subs have hands to perform a service for their masters. If hands are idle, they should be behind the back to show respect. I’m binding your wrists so that you can see what it feels like for a sub to give up such freedom of mobility. If at any time you feel too uncomfortable with what I do, say...orange blossom.” He picked that because of the citric scent he suspected was from her shampoo. She snickered. “Orange blossom? Why can’t I just say stop or no? That would make it easier, don’t you think?” He took the liberty of running his hands up her arms. Then he leaned closer to nuzzle her neck. She leaned her head to the side, a silent invitation of which he took full advantage. He slowly, methodically, slipped his hands around her sides, and then he murmured, “Sensual play can evoke sudden reactions.” He tickled her ribs. Her response was instant. “No! Oh, God, please...” She panted as she giggled. “Stop. Oh! Ha ha hahahaha.” She squirmed but didn’t try to get away from him, which she could’ve accomplished, since he hadn’t bound her ankles. Her laughs grew louder as her wiggles became more frantic. He spun her around to see her eyes alight with laughter and a smile on her face. “Your eyes say something different than what your mouth spouts, Carmen.” He kissed her hard, and she leaned against him with a moan of encouragement. Then, without warning, he tickled her some more.
78
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton She yelped and began giggling anew. She succumbed to his teasing play for at least another minute or so as he alternated between tickles and kisses, until finally, she said, “Orange blossom!” He stopped in an instant and stepped back enough to separate his body from hers, except for the hand he kept on her shoulder just to steady her while she caught her breath. With his other hand, he gently lifted her chin until she met his gaze. “You see? No, stop, quit, even help can be words uttered in the heat of the moment when a sub is caught off‐guard or surprised. They are quick expressions that often require little thought. A safe word, however, is one that does require thought, so the master knows when it’s spoken, its meaning is clear.” “So a true master never crosses that line?” Carl paused, uncertain about how he should respond. He gripped her hips, pulled her into a loose embrace, and studied her upturned face. “A sub’s use of a safe word doesn’t reflect on a master’s expertise or lack thereof. BDSM by its nature is a test of a sub’s limits and a master’s ability to push those limits to achieve mutual gratification. A true master can take a sub on a journey of sexual exploration that tests the sub’s boundaries, and even those of the master. The safe word is the flag used to identify when such lines are crossed.” “And have you ever discovered your limits?” His breath froze in his chest, as did his expression, no doubt. The urge to lie pounded with each beat of his heart, and he swore that organ would soon explode from his chest. “I didn’t give you permission to ask personal questions...Carmen,” he answered, unwilling to admit to such vulnerability. The truth was he’d never faced anyone he thought capable of forcing him to such limits...until now. But right now wasn’t the time to admit such things, at least not to her. So, to distract her, he ordered, “Don’t forget to use my name like a title, either. That’s your last warning.” He tugged on her shorts until they slid over her hips and dropped to the floor. She stood as still as a marble Venus while he lifted her T‐shirt
79
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton over a chest that could make a man’s mouth water. Hell, he had to strain against the desire to suckle her breast. He pulled the shirt over her head but, with her arms bound behind her, he left the shirt gathered high on her arms to act as additional binding. Stepping around behind her, he lifted the blindfold from the bed and draped it over her eyes. “Umm,” she began as he pulled the knot tight. “Shh.” He walked around her and touched a fingertip to her lips. “Listen, feel, and learn what a sub experiences when giving over complete control to someone else.” He ran his hands up each arm, slid one in a soft decent between her breasts, and curved the other around the nape of her neck. He kept his voice soft and his attention focused on her every nuance. “Your pulse is rapid. I can tell with a glance here.” He lightly brushed the skin over her neck where her heartbeat throbbed. “Anticipation or fear? That’s what I must decide....” His next touch circled a sensitive areola. One lap and a flick of her beaded nipple, and she sucked in a hissed breath. “This tells me your pulse is raging because of arousal. You can shake your head, scream stop, or whimper with frustration, and it wouldn’t hide these signs that tell me you approve of my touch.” He’d touched her only twice, but already her breathing was shallow. He turned away to look over the toys he’d set on the bed. His submissive nature wanted to ask what she preferred, seek her input on how best to stimulate her to climax, but he couldn’t do that while in his current role. Masters didn’t ask; they knew, or at least observed enough to make an educated guess, without giving away their position of power. So he let his observation and instinct point the way. She’d reached out toward a vibrator with a unique curved tip and an appendage used for clitoral stimulation. It looked strange, but Carl knew enough about the preferred toys of the club to know it was a favorite among females regardless of their position as a Domme or sub. But he didn’t want to be predictable either, so instead of grabbing
80
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton the vibrator, he looked around the room. “Carl?” He’d been so quiet for so long, she’d become agitated...and more aroused. He let the silence stretch another second or two. Then, since he hadn’t found anything in the room that he wanted to use, he leaned forward and nipped the tip of one breast with his teeth. She startled. Her breaths came rapid now. Her chest rose with each inhalation as if seeking his mouth once more. But he didn’t touch her there again. Instead, he quietly moved around behind her and bent toward her to nip at her neck. This time she sucked in a deep, sudden breath, but didn’t jolt. He whispered, “You like the unexpected, don’t you?” “Yes.” He swatted her on the butt. She yelped. “Is that the way I told you to address me?” “No, Carl.” Knowing the strike of his hand stung, he rubbed the soft curve of her behind. He whispered, “As a Domme, you’ll have to always be on your guard. Subs test their masters as much as masters push the limits of their subs. As a slight female—” She snorted, interrupting him, so he popped her on the butt again. “—the male subs could take advantage of you. Physically, they’re stronger. Control and dominance must be established in other ways.” He told himself he was foolish to admit such to her. She could use the knowledge against him. But another part of him insisted he instruct her properly. They’d made no long‐lasting commitment to one another. She was an out‐of‐towner on holiday in Florida, so she could decide to leave tomorrow or the next day. Though he knew that to be true, he tried not to let that thought make his stomach churn. No, it was best he tell her what he knew. If she should leave, he had to be sure she at least knew of the dangers in the lifestyle she’d chosen to experience. Not all male subs saw their submission as a way to ensure they pleased their mistresses. Some demanded to be tamed, and any
81
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton mistresses not up to the task could find themselves, or their hearts, trampled. To prove his point, he cupped the back of her neck, bent her forward at the waist, and pulled her bound wrists up. He’d caught her by surprise again with his sudden movement, so he had her in place before she could mutter a sound of alarm or protest. With his hand still in place to keep her head down, he walked her over to one of the bed’s columns. “Hold still,” he said as he ripped the Velcro strap on one cuff and rebound her wrists to the ironwork in such a way to keep her bent over with arms stretched out behind her. “With a woman, a man can more often than not force her into the position he wants, as I just did with you. When the sub is a man, however, physical force doesn’t always work.” He nudged her feet farther apart and enjoyed the view of her nice round ass. He’d seen many women in similar positions before, but none intrigued him like the woman who now stood bowed before him. It was almost enough to make him drop to his knees and beg to switch places with her. As the master in this scene, however, he should ensure she was more concerned with his pleasures than her own. He was supposed to be teaching her the role of a sub, but he couldn’t help wanting to see to her satisfaction first. Slowly, he brushed a couple of fingertips along her neck and was pleased to discover her rapid, aroused pulse. “What should a mistress do, then, with an uncooperative sub?” she asked, curiosity evident in her tone. “Each dominant partner must determine her own path for gaining the trust, and ultimately the obedience, of a sub.” He leaned over her, his lips drawing near her ear, and he lowered his voice. “It’s always best to follow your instincts.” That tip given, he followed his own advice by stroking her skin everywhere except where he knew she wanted it most. He didn’t tell her that postponing pleasure could heighten the enjoyment; he showed her. He curled his fingers to let his short nails add new sensations to his strokes and heard the soft, mewl‐like sound she
82
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton failed to hold back. “The best mistresses know how to excite with the slightest touch, how to tantalize with the softest whisper...” He let his eyes close as he continued the sensual massage and let his words paint the portrait for both of them. “...how to make your dream a reality. She can take control of your body and strip your soul bare.” He kept up the stimulation. Never stopping. Back and forth, around and around. Slow, smooth strokes, almost lazy yet ever attentive. Drawing near. So close. And as he moved, the vision of her as his mistress solidified in his mind. His voice dropped to a low, dreamy murmur. “Each caress would send me higher. Each glimpse of your body a gift. My heart rate yours to command. And still you know...you know to draw out the moment...stretch it until I think I’ll die from the pleasure.” “Dios mio.” A shiver rippled through her body that awakened him from his own musings and made him realize she’d climaxed. At least, he suspected that was the case. He found out for certain by gliding a finger along the crack of her butt, between her labia, and into her moist pussy. With a casual press and withdrawal, and steady repetition, Carl finger‐fucked her until he felt her insides quiver again and her hips rock in opposition to his motion. He added a second and then a third finger while tweaking the tips of each breast and watching her closely. The vision of her body, the subtle sounds of her encouragement, propelled his own arousal to surprising heights. His cock throbbed with an urgent need to fill her. A true master would probably take her mouth, make her service him, but Carl chose to give in to his own fantasy. He rubbed his cock across her damp pussy, risked one shallow stroke inside. She responded by shoving her hips against him, a silent order for more depth, but he resisted. As he pulled out and repositioned his cock at the puckered opening of her anus, her head reared up. Even blindfolded, she was aware of his intention. He paused to see what she’d do, his hands motionless on the gentle swell of her ass.
83
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Would she stop him with her safe word? Break from her submissive role and order him to release her? He waited with bated breath. Slowly, she lowered her head, her signal clear. He pushed forward with a steady pressure until his slick cock slipped inside. So tight. He couldn’t prevent the groan and didn’t even try. He gritted his teeth as he inched in deeper, deeper, until at last his entire length was fully seated. “You okay?” he asked, barely able to get the words out as his body focused on the exquisite pressure surrounding his cock. When all she did was whimper, he repeated the question and got a response in the form of a half‐sigh, half‐hiss. “Oh, yesss.” He eased back, pressed home once, and cherished the moan she gave as reward. The throb of his cock felt magnified by the tight confines of her body, the firm grip of her sphincter that pulled on him with each slow withdrawal and thrust. Spotting the vibrator on the bed, he decided another surprise was in order. He snatched it up and pulled back enough to work the fake cock into her pussy, ensuring the clitoral stimulator was perfectly aligned. When he pushed back into her ass, he felt the added pressure and had to take a deep breath to retain control. If it felt half as good to her as it did for him, they’d both go crazy in no time. Settling into a rhythm, he rocked into her ass, his hand guiding the dildo he’d yet to turn on. He kept up a slow pace. He wanted it to last, but his climax drew near before he was ready. Too soon. In a frantic race to send her over the edge before him, he pushed the dildo in deep and turned it on, his fingers reaching around to ensure that it rubbed her clit. At the club, he’d come without command when fucking fellow subs plenty of times, but he’d always managed to coax such commands from his dominant partners before. Now, however, he found himself in a unique situation. He knew she wouldn’t order his release, not in their current roles, although maybe he could...

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Tell me, Carmen.” He panted as he fought to hold off his orgasm. “Tell me.... What do you want to do?” She shook her head, fierce and rapid. He flicked her clit harder, plucking it in time with his own thrusts into her ass. Come on...please. “Say it!” “Come!” she shouted. Yes! Carl threw back his head, shoved as deep as he could inside her warm body, and let himself go.

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton
Chapter Nine Carmen sat down at a small, round table near the bar and smiled at Tyrone, the burly, dark‐skinned bartender that Carl had introduced her to earlier. As activity picked up in the club, she felt a little more secure being within sight of someone she knew. She wasn’t a shy person, nor a quiet one. Usually, she was very outgoing and liked to meet new people, but this crowd... It wasn’t the same as the other night with the Montgomerys when the place had a more formal atmosphere and everyone had donned their best eveningwear. Tonight there were men and women in everything imaginable from jeans and T‐shirts to...well...nothing. A few women and at least one man were completely naked except for collars around their necks. Most of the attendees wore latex or leather of some form. Carmen glanced down at the outfit Carl had helped her construct out of Olivia’s club wear. The leather skirt barely covered her ass—she had to make sure she never bent over in it—and the bustier... Looking down, she could see a lot more skin than red leather. She’d not wanted to wear anything this revealing, but Carl had insisted she wouldn’t stand out at the club. He was right. She was more covered than a lot of the people around her. He’d been so right about a lot of things during their tête‐à‐têtes. She’d returned him to his cottage just after sunup, and they’d spent much of the following days together—when he wasn’t at work—relaxing,
86
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton strolling on the beach, and enjoying each other’s company. In many ways, she found him so comfortable to be with that she marveled at the realization they hadn’t known each other long. Maybe it was because Olivia had shared so much with her about Incognito and her close circle of friends. Maybe it was Carl’s own unique ability to soothe her with a mere touch, a subtle glance. Carl had been a wonderful, patient and attentive instructor. She couldn’t have asked for a better introduction into this lifestyle. After that first scene, they’d switched places again, as she experimented with her role as a mistress. His encouragement made her feel good about herself and her abilities, but the confidence she’d developed one‐on‐one with him wavered some now when surrounded by so many strangers who obviously lived the life in a more hardcore manner than she desired. She glanced around the club, searching for Carl, as she sipped her beer. He had told her the basics of what he did at Incognito, that his job as Kat’s slave was to be an extra pair of eyes, so that kept him on the move throughout the multi‐storied club most of the time. He was a bouncer when needed, and a host of sorts, seating the patrons as he’d seated her and the Montgomerys the night of the auction. After a brief separation while he readied for work, she’d been shocked senseless at her first sight of Carl’s costume. Not that he hadn’t looked hot in next to nothing; he had, in fact, looked too damn good for her libido. Only the knowledge that he viewed the spandex and chains as a work‐related uniform kept her from commenting on it. Still, she’d had to battle the insane urge to whisk him away from prying eyes all evening. She released a disappointed sigh when she didn’t see him anywhere. Two tables over, in a not‐so‐darkened corner... Oh my goodness. The guy’s hand was up the woman’s skirt. All the way up. The woman was on his lap, their mouths locked in a kiss that was hot enough to steam glass, and she was riding his hand like a wanton. Right there in public. She turned away and stared off in the opposite direction. Whoa. Olivia had told her about the scenes played out on the stage occasionally,
87
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton but just an average couple sitting together at a table? Her gaze landed on something even more...disturbing. Sitting on a low settee with two almost‐naked redheaded women at his feet—licking his boots, for gosh sakes, while he stroked his cock, which hung out of his open leather pants—was a man that made her skin crawl. He had a thick black mustache and eyes too small for his head. He held a striking resemblance to the man who had tried to ruin her life. The man who’d all but chased her out of California. Her ex‐boyfriend, Salvador. She ducked her head and stared at the tabletop. She’d managed to keep that asshole out of her head for more than twenty‐four hours. Carl had the sweet ability to make her forget every horrid thing Sal had done to her—or at least tried to do to her. Ruin her reputation, her livelihood— turn her into a paid whore in the eyes of her friends and people she’d worked with for years. Worse, he made her look like a criminal. Thank God for Olivia’s invitation to come to Florida. Thank God she’d gotten away when she did. She’d never go back there. And now that she’d found Carl... Oh, jeez, I’m an idiot. Why was she basing her decisions—any decisions—on a man? Yeah, Carl was great in bed, but that did not a relationship make. She shouldn’t get her hopes up. Hadn’t that proven to be a trap the last time? And she’d known Sal for years. She barely knew Carl. Sure, he called her Mistress instead of whore, but Carl used that title for every Domme at Incognito. Of course, she’d spent the most fantastic days of her life with him, but she’d decided to stay in Florida before she’d met him. And she would stay. To be closer to Olivia. To start over and start fresh. Carl was just a really nice treat. One that might not be around long, she reminded herself. Still, a part of her hoped he would be around. She couldn’t help it. She really liked him. The tender, selfless way he cared for her, pampered her, was willing to do anything to please her. What would it be like to have that 24/7, not just for a few days? And, well...the sex was beyond amazing. She’d never had so many orgasms in such a short span of time in
88
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton her life. To have a man who would withhold his own pleasure to see to hers... She sighed and looked up, a smile curving her lips. Any man who would place so much trust in her, to teach her the things he had... She thought back to her dominatrix training, and her smile grew into a grin. He was a true submissive. Even while fucking her brains out, while supposedly commanding her, he’d waited for her to tell him it was okay to come. He saw to her needs first. Why would she ever want to give that up? She couldn’t imagine any man she would trust the way she did him. Her gaze went back to the Sal look‐alike. Dios, the Dom gave her the creeps. Why would some dude come to a place like this to sit and masturbate while chained women licked his boots? That was about the weirdest fetish she’d ever witnessed. And did the man think anyone wanted to watch him jack off? She laughed at herself and looked away. She’d been watching, hadn’t she? Well, hadn’t Carl suggested she come to the club tonight to observe the world of BDSM firsthand? She was supposed to be watching; how else could she learn? A Domme in training she might be, but he’d convinced her over the past few days that she was a natural. She could handle seeing— A muscular blond with a huge dragon tattoo running down one beefy arm walked past. Leather pants, matching vest, and no cuffs or collar. Definitely a Dom. Wow, he smelled good, too, she thought as she caught a whiff of something expensive and spicy. He went up to the bar, and Tyrone greeted him by name. Soren. Even his name was sexy. Okay, so maybe leather wasn’t such a bad thing. That Soren guy looked way better than the skinny Sal look‐alike. She couldn’t keep herself from taking another peek. The redheads were still licking. Did they ever get tired of that? And the guy was still stroking. She wondered if he would ever come, or if he just...stayed hard all night. Was that possible? Jeez, she’d had quite a bit of experience with men and sex, but this
89
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton place sure added a lot to her list of didn’t know and was way too curious about. She’d have to ask Carl what was the longest he’d ever kept an erection. Hmm. Maybe she’d just test him herself. If he never came until she instructed him to... The man with the twin redheads stood up, cock still in hand, and snared her gaze. Oh, shit. Carmen looked away. Wait. She wasn’t a sub. Only subs weren’t allowed to stare. No, that couldn’t be right. Staring was rude in the real world, too. She shouldn’t have been staring. Not knowing where he’d gone was killing her, so she glanced back and, to her horror, he stood on the other side of the small table from her, arms folded, cock hanging out for the world to see. Dios mio. She thought she might be sick. What the hell was she supposed to do now? She could run over and hide behind Tyrone. He was a huge mountain of a man this weenie wouldn’t dare go up against. “Enjoying the view, stray?” the man asked, his voice a little nasally, irritating. “I have a spare collar just your size. And mine’s attached to a chain so you won’t be able to wander off.” Carmen’s eyes went wide for a second as indignant fury shot through her. A collar? Chain? She shot to her feet and planted her hands on her hips. “How dare you?” The smarmy man smirked. “A feisty bitch, I see. I accept your dare.” Carmen’s breath lodged in her throat, which was a good thing because if it hadn’t, she would’ve lambasted the asshole for calling her a bitch. Wait. What? A dare? He thought she was a stray...a slut...one of those women who fucked anything that moved in this place? Like hell! Even if she had been one, she wouldn’t go near this... Eww. Even if he didn’t remind her of a bad memory— “I’m sorry, but you’ve made a mistake. I’m not a sub,” she said, trying to be polite despite the urge to do otherwise. “Don’t lie to me, bitch. I saw you watching. I know what you want,
90
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton but you have to earn it. Drop to your knees, now. I want to see you crawl.” So now she was a liar? Of all the nerve! “I said you’ve made a mistake,” she said in her snootiest, highbrow tone. “I’m neither a stray nor a bitch.” He made a sound that was somewhere between a snort and a laugh. “Only a stray would have such a wide‐eyed look of interest.” Carl walked up to the table, his head bowed, but he looked her directly in the eyes. “Is there a problem, Mistress Carmen?” She smiled at him, a little relieved he’d shown up, but she really wanted to put this overbearing weirdo in his place. “Everything is fine, Carl.” “Get lost, slave.” Carl glanced at the jerk. “I can’t, Master Patrick. Mistress Carmen is a guest of mine. She’s a new Domme here and hasn’t learned protocol, yet.” “Carl, I can handle it,” she said, keeping her voice low but stern. How dare he step in to save the day? Didn’t he think she could take care of herself? “Since when does a slave speak for a true Domme?” the man asked with a snort and a sneer that showed he didn’t believe she was dominant at all. Then he eyed Carl. “Katriona has always given you too much leash. One of these days it’s going to strangle you.” “Hey. You can’t talk to him that way,” Carmen jumped in. “Shh,” Carl said to her, which really pissed her off. “Don’t you shush me. And you,” she said to the Sal look‐alike. “Take a hike. I’m so not interested in you or your little dick.” She’d gone too far. She knew it the moment the words came out. Inside she groaned and flinched, but outwardly she met the jerk’s gaze with brazen contempt. Carl turned toward the man. “Master Patrick, accept—” “Shut up, slave. You,” he said, pointing at Carmen. “I demand to hear an apology.” Demand... She’d had enough of Sal’s orders; she’d be damned
91
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton before she’d comply with the so‐called demands of another arrogant asshole. “You can demand until hell freezes over. I don’t owe you a damn thing.” “You need your ass whipped for taking such a tone with me.” “I’d like to see you try,” she said even though her bravado was fading fast. What the hell had she gotten herself into? How was she going to get out of it? That dude was not going to lay a hand on her; that was for sure. She might be new to all of this, but she was a Domme. He had no right to treat her like one of his boot‐licking slaves, especially when she vehemently denied his advances. She started to point her finger back at him just as Patrick took an ominous step toward her. Carl, in a move so fast Carmen couldn’t believe he’d done it, landed a shoulder against Patrick’s chest. “Carl!” She reached for him, but missed as Carl’s momentum sent both men tumbling to the floor. He’s crazy! He can’t fight with cuffed wrists. In the blink of an eye, Tyrone vaulted the bar and broke through the stunned patrons. He grabbed Carl and dragged him off the other man. “What is going on here?” Dalton demanded, his voice low but hard as he plowed his way to the front of the gawkers gathering around them. In his wake was Katriona, armed with her ever‐present riding crop. “I...” Carmen started, but Tyrone released Carl who turned to face her. That’s when she noticed a drop of blood trickle from his nose. “Damn it!” She snatched up a napkin from her table and cupped the back of his head as she pressed the cloth to his nostril. “Lean your head back.” “I’m fine,” he said, sounding a bit nasally, but he did as he was told. “This wouldn’t have happened, you know, if...” She glanced around to see Tyrone help a battered, ruffled Patrick to his feet amid a sea of surprised faces, including Kat who stared at her as if she’d grown two heads. Shit. Carl was Kat’s. She let him go and backed up. Carl looked at her then Kat, and then lowered his gaze and dropped to his knees in front of Kat.
92
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Carmen made a face and folded her arms over her chest as unfathomable anger coursed through her. He acted all meek and submissive now that he was in front of Kat and Dalton, but when she’d told him to butt out, did he listen? Damn it, why hadn’t he just let her deal with it? Some slave he was. He didn’t take directions worth a damn. “You may speak,” Kat said, her tone imperious as she unlocked his metal cuffs and handed him another napkin. “I feared Mistress Carmen’s welfare was in jeopardy,” Carl said, holding the cloth to stem the mild blood flow. “Oh, please,” Carmen said on a huff. “I wasn’t in jeopardy, and if he’d gone away like...” She waved her hand in Patrick’s direction. “...that guy told him to, I could have dealt with it.” Patrick rubbed a bruise on his cheek and glared at her. “I demand satisfaction for the insult made upon my person.” Carmen saw that the creep had at least tucked himself back into his pants. How anyone in his right mind could run around with his dick sticking out was beyond her. Wait... “Insult?” Carmen scoffed. “I’ll make you think—” “I will accept whatever punishment you deem appropriate, Mistress...Katriona,” Carl said, interrupting her, his voice raised to gain the undivided attention of everyone present. “Punishment? No, Carl—” Carmen began. “Fine,” Patrick said with a sneer aimed at Carl. “I’ll accept a piece of his flesh in lieu of the alternatives, since he did attack me. You all are witnesses. I demand he be flogged.” “Flogged!” Carmen searched the room, for what she didn’t know, but everyone she saw seemed to be staring at Carl. “Now wait just a minute.” Kat and Dalton glanced at each other, and then both faced at her. “He’s wronged a Dom,” Kat said, her tone brittle. “You stated so yourself. Your welfare was not in any danger.” “Yes...but...he thought—” “That slave has never known his place,” Patrick cut in. “I look
93
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton forward to putting him in it.” He turned to the women still on the floor next to the settee. “Bring me my flogger.” Oh, no. No. Carmen stepped around Carl, who still knelt on the floor, his head bowed and hands fisted. Why wasn’t he protesting this? Why had he suggested punishment in the first place? “Kat. You’re not going to let that guy—” Kat gave her a hard glare, but then blinked and with a slight shake of her head, turned away. Carmen’s insides knotted. Damn Carl for being a stubborn ass. Damn herself for opening her big mouth. She looked to Dalton for some kind of reassurance, but he stood there, arms folded over his chest, his expression like stone. “Get up, slave,” Patrick ordered. “Hold on,” Kat interrupted and put her hand on Carl’s bare shoulder. “He’s my slave. I’ll do the punishing.” Carmen relaxed a bit, even as she bristled at that comment. He wasn’t Kat’s, not really. He’s mine, damn it. But to everyone here, he was Kat’s slave. They didn’t know it was his job. At least Kat wouldn’t hurt Carl. They were friends. And he worked for her. She couldn’t beat her employee. “Because he’s your slave you shouldn’t do it. You’ll be too easy on him.” Patrick flicked the multi‐strapped flogger against his leather pants, and it made a terrible hiss‐snap sound. Kat’s glare could have burned holes in steel. “I said I would punish him, and I will. Do you compound tonight’s folly by insulting me?” Patrick shook his head and shrugged. “I demand a flogging. Nothing less.” With one curt nod, Kat dropped her hand from Carl’s shoulder. “Get up.” Carl got to his feet, head bowed, hands at his sides. What the hell was Kat going to do to him? Patrick smirked. “’Bout time that slave got put in his place.” Then he ambled back to his settee and sat down, tossed his arms along the back
94
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton of the seat, and watched them. “Kat, I...” Carmen heard Carl murmur. “You went too far this time,” Kat told him. “There’s no way out of it. What the hell were you thinking?” Carl’s jaw ticked, but he refused to say anything more. “Let’s get this over with,” Kat said, slipping her finger into a loop at the back of Carl’s collar and guiding him toward something that looked like a short gymnastic horse. Carmen made to follow, but Dalton’s touch on her arm stopped her. They stood off to the side, away from most of the observers. “Do you know what happened here?” he asked. She winced. “I think so.” Carl leaned over the horse at the waist, hands holding the edge near his hips. “When a Dom or Domme feels they’ve been offended, according to club rules, they can demand satisfaction. What that entails depends on who committed the offense against whom. When the conflict is between dominants...” Kat pulled down Carl’s shorts, baring his sexy ass to the entire room. Carmen’s hands fisted. She didn’t like that all these people got to see his butt. Not at all. That was her butt to look at, to touch. “...isn’t injured.” “Excuse me,” she said, realizing she’d missed much of what Dalton said while her attention was focused on Carl. “I’m sorry, could you repeat that?” “When the offender is a sub, usually the offended dominant does the punishing themselves, but because Kat knows that Patrick can be unduly harsh, she will carry out the flogging herself to make sure Carl isn’t injured.” Hearing him say that offered some relief. As ticked as she was at Carl, she didn’t want him harmed, which was why she kept her gaze glued to the scene unfolding by the gymnastic horse. “So he won’t be in any real pain? I mean...that whip thing doesn’t
95
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton look like it would feel good.” Dalton leaned back against the wall, folded his arms, and crossed his ankles. “Kat is not going to make this real pleasant for Carl, but in the right hands a flogging can bring ecstasy.” Carmen scoffed. “Yeah, right. That thing looks like it’d hurt.” “Pain can lead to pleasure if used properly. There are many people who can climax just from a flogging or a spanking.” Carmen flinched when she heard the first snap of the leather against flesh. “How can that not hurt?” “It does,” Dalton said, his voice low and calm. “She has to make it real enough so that Patrick isn’t further offended into demanding he be allowed to administer punishment.” Carmen’s heart thudded too hard. Not because Kat would hurt him, but because Carl had put himself in this situation all because he didn’t think she could take care of herself. He called her Mistress, made her believe in herself and that he was willing to entrust her with his welfare, but he’d lied. He didn’t even trust her to handle one pushy imbecile. Kat landed another lash and, even though Carl didn’t budge, Carmen had the urge to rush over there and snatch the flogger away. Too many emotions engulfed her—frustration over his stubborn, overprotective nature, fury at the creep who started it all, and guilt for having let it get out of hand. Even sadness that it had come to this. “You okay, Carmen?” Dalton asked. “It doesn’t hurt that bad. It stings, but the pain doesn’t last. He’ll be fine in an hour and most likely won’t have a mark on him.” Kat struck one final blow across cheeks now rosy from the flogging. Carmen shook her head as tears stung her eyes. “Excuse me, Dalton. I think I need to go.” She heard Dalton call after her, but she didn’t stop. She had to get out before she fell apart and proved to everyone that she was the biggest fool ever to be born.

Chapter Ten The sun still slept deep beneath the cover of the horizon as the crescent moon hung high in the midnight sky. Carl, a set of keys in one hand, wound his way along the familiar, softly illuminated path that led to his cottage far from the shadows of the main mansion that housed the club. He’d left long before the club’s normal 2 a.m. closing, but only after he’d had a chance to talk with Kat and Dalton in private. He’d almost blown his cover as her slave earlier tonight and wanted to apologize for putting her in such an untenable situation. But she’d refused to accept his apology and instead had offered her own. “I’ve been so selfish,” she’d told him, holding up a hand to stave off his attempt to argue the point. “I’ve pretended to be your mistress, because I thought I needed to be something I’m not. In doing so, I failed you.” “Kat—” “Let me finish. A mistress should think of her sub’s needs before her own. A boss should be concerned with an employee’s well‐being and not just a company’s bottom line. There’s more to this life than Incognito, so many things that are more important than what occurs inside these walls. I kept you from any chance at living your own life, finding your own special someone to share your dreams and future with, and for that I’m sorry.”
97
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Someone special...dreams...future... Those words flickered in Carl’s mind as he approached the black shell that was his cottage. After one last glance back toward the mansion to ensure no one followed, he pulled his thumb from the waistband of his spandex shorts and flipped the tiny release buttons to free his wrists. “So, even the bondage is an illusion.” Carl stopped at the sound of that soft, familiar feminine voice. Carmen. He looked up, squinted through the nighttime darkness, and found her seated in a chair on his porch. It was the last place in the world he expected to see her. He’d started to search for her at the club, until Dalton told him she’d left. The thought of her departure while he was punished pissed him off, at first, but Dalton let slip that she’d remained there until Kat finished. That knowledge soothed some of his anger, but the hurt and disappointment remained. If she really cared, wouldn’t she have hung around? “You’re here.” He winced at the sound of hope he heard in those words. He’d thought the evening’s events had sent her running as far away from him as fast as she could go. She stood and stepped to the edge of the porch, her face a bit more visible now. “I needed time to think, to calm down, but I couldn’t leave.” He didn’t move toward her, didn’t dare. “Why?” “Because I—I had to make sure you were all right.” He snorted and moved past her then. “Is that all? Well, you can see I’m alive. No harm done.” He suspected it was guilt that brought her back to his door rather than any real concern over his welfare. If she’d wanted to verify the latter, she should have stuck around. Maybe he had been wrong about her. Maybe it was wishful thinking that she was the one strong enough, but if she ran every time things got hot... He unlocked the front door, pushed it open, and felt an air‐ conditioned wave of coolness wash over him. He flicked the light switch, and golden beams chased the darkness into the farthest corners.
98
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton She caught him by the arm, her fingers biting into his bicep. “Don’t turn your back on me.” He faced her and let his anger show. “Why not? Doesn’t feel as good when you’re on the receiving end, does it?” “I haven’t turned my back on you.” “No? Where were you when Kat released me? I don’t recall you being anywhere in sight.” Her lips thinned, arms crossed, and eyes flamed. “You want to play this game? Fine. I was here. I came straight here, and I’ve been here the whole time thinking, trying to determine how big of a fool I want to be.” “Excuse me?” “I went into that club thinking I was prepared to be a Domme, your Domme. I thought you trusted me in that role, but the moment some asshole comes along, do you listen to anything I say? No.” “You’re new. You don’t know all the protocols—” “And you don’t even trust me to be able to take care of myself, much less take care of you. That’s the real problem, isn’t it?” Her words caught him off guard, made him step back. She followed him into his home. He let go of the door, which she then took the chance to close behind her. When she faced him once more, she paused to take a deep breath. The rise and fall of her ample chest attracted his eye like magnetic north to a compass. “Do you deny it?” she asked with a frown. “You were my guest. It was my responsibility to—” “Bullshit. Do you think me so weak that I can’t fix my own problems, admit when I screw up, or right a wrong? Am I only a Domme when it suits you? Is it your responsibility to protect me from myself?” He wasn’t sure how to answer that barrage of questions. He hadn’t realized his rush to protect her from Patrick could be perceived as mistrust in her capabilities as a mistress. In hindsight, he had to admit—at least to himself—he had tried to take control of the situation because he didn’t think she could handle it. The determined look on her face now, however, proved he’d misjudged her.
99
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Well, thanks but no thanks. I’ll admit I’ve made plenty of mistakes in my life. I’ve turned tail and run away from the only life I’ve ever known because of a man. I’ll be damned if I’ll do it again. And I refuse to let you or anyone else make me feel as if I’m not strong enough to handle what life throws my way. Never again.” She poked him in the chest. “You got that?” “Yes...” She was absolutely stunning when she was so fired up. “I do trust you, though.” She stilled, her gaze locked with his for the longest time, her expression skeptical at best. Finally, she spoke, her words little more than a breath of air. “Prove it.” “You first.” He tossed his keys on a nearby table and unbuckled the belt with attached chains and cuffs. “I beg your pardon?” Now it was her turn to blink. He dropped the belt on the table as well. “When we first met, you refused to answer any personal questions I asked you. Do you still have so little faith in me that you can’t even share your past?” She spun away from him, and his heart ached. “Now who’s turning their back, huh?” In a flash she faced him again. “Okay. You want to conduct a Q and A? You want me to spill the beans?” She waved a hand toward his sofa. “You might want to sit down. This could take a while.” He took a seat and eyed her while she stood before him like a woman facing execution. When she didn’t speak, he asked his first question. “Who are you running from and why?” She took a deep breath and admitted, “I told you the truth when I said I worked at a hotel. For years, I lived there as well and managed the housekeeping staff, but that changed when I put my trust in my boss.” She paced in front of him as she revealed her secrets. “It began innocently enough. A touch here, a heated look, eventually a kiss. I became Sal’s lover, but only in secret.” “Married?”
100
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton She shook her head. “He didn’t want any trouble with upper management. They have a strict policy about in‐house romances, especially between management and subordinates. So, we kept our meetings away from prying eyes. After a while, he convinced me to start staying overnight at his place. Although, I kept my quarters at the hotel for appearances.” Staring out the front window of his living room, she paused, gripping the curtains, until he said, “Go on.” When she spoke, her words were so soft, he had to concentrate to hear her. “I thought he loved me, but that was a lie.” She turned back toward him, her tone turning sarcastic. “I’ve dated some real winners in my life. I thought Sal was different, but he treated me like nothing more than his personal maid... No, that’s not completely true. He treated me like a paid whore, and when I ended it, when I returned to the hotel, hoping we could just forget the whole thing since no one knew anyway, he destroyed me.” Carl couldn’t remain seated any longer. He got up, rounded the oak coffee table, and approached her. She released the drapes and held up that hand, palm out. “Don’t look at me like that. I don’t want your pity.” He took her hand and brought it to his lips. “Is it pity to care for another human being? I don’t think so. And Sal didn’t destroy you; you’re still a very strong, vibrant, and beautiful woman.” She pulled her hand from his, took a few steps to increase the distance between them, and said, “He took the only life I knew. I’d kept our affair secret because he wanted it that way, but when I left him, he exposed us. I don’t know...for revenge over his wounded pride, I guess. But the way he did it...” She shook her head, her hands splayed protectively over her abdomen. “I lost my job after years of faithful service. My career, my home, my reputation. I lost it all because of him.” “I don’t get it. How could he—?” “Upper management told me, out of respect for him, they would make me a deal. If I left quietly, they wouldn’t turn their evidence in—
101
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton turn me in—to the cops for fraud and embezzlement.” His eyes narrowed, although he tried to keep a blank expression. Anger on her behalf rose, along with an uncomfortable sensation of suspicion. “What evidence did they have?” “Hotel security video of me acting suspiciously before entering Sal’s office...edited for effect,” she said with a sneer. “And checks with what looked to be my signature. Checks he supposedly wrote to me and that I cashed at the hotel when no one was looking.” Carmen met his gaze head on. “Payoffs, he’d said, for a brief, ill‐advised liaison. He portrayed himself as the victim and me as a woman with a Fatal Attraction mentality. He even threatened to get a restraining order...against me! So, like a coward, I ran. I took their deal, along with my life’s savings, and left as fast as that plane could take me.” “Why didn’t you tell me all of this before?” he asked as he inched toward her again. She shrugged, her gaze sliding away from his. “Why should you believe in my innocence when the people I lived and worked with for years chose to side with him?” Carl grabbed her upper arms, made her look at him. “Did my submission not prove anything to you? I believe you. If I didn’t believe in you, in your integrity as a person, if I didn’t think you were worthy of my trust, I never would’ve called you Mistress.” She jerked free of his grip and narrowed her gaze on him. “Which brings us full circle. You didn’t trust me tonight. You disobeyed me in front of another Dom, ignored me when I said I could handle it.” “I took a flogging for you.” “You didn’t have to. I didn’t ask you to. I didn’t command you to. You took over.” She pointed at him. “You took control because you didn’t believe I could handle it. Admit it! You don’t really trust me, not that much.” When he didn’t object, just stood there with his jaw clenched, she continued. “You’re just like Sal—” “I’m nothing like him!”
102
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “No? Maybe I‘m wrong, then. But either way, I’m still a secret. I wasn’t good enough to be Sal’s lover in the open, and I’m only your mistress in private, when it’s convenient. To those at Incognito, you still belong to Kat.” “It’s my job,” he gritted out. “Accounting is your job. Your submission is a personal choice. You taught me that.” Her eyes glistening, she cupped his face, gave him a gentle smile, and murmured, “See ya around, Carl.” Stunned, he stood motionless as she walked out the door.
103
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Chapter Eleven Carmen sat back in the leather executive chair and rubbed her eyes. She’d spent today much as she had the day before, and the day before that—delivering resumes and going job hunting. Dressed in one of her best suits, she’d gone on a job interview earlier but held little hope that she’d land the position if the H.R. person called her former boss. She didn’t dare admit that boss was also her ex‐ lover. She sighed. “It’s only been a week,” she told herself. Something would open up. Maybe she should look for an apartment, although she’d wanted to land a job before incurring bills like a lease and utilities. Olivia and her husbands would be home Monday, and she’d yet to even look for a place to live. She had enough money to set herself up in a nice rental somewhere, even pay rent for a while and, if she found a furnished place, the money would last even longer. But she was too young to retire and couldn’t live off her savings forever; eventually it would run out. So she did need to find a job, had thought her experience would be enough to land her one quickly, but that bubble burst after the second promising position ended with a no thanks. She suspected they’d checked her references and talked to Sal, but proving it was fruitless. The latest newspaper lay open on the desk, turned to the job ads.
104
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton She flipped over to the apartment listings, but after staring at newsprint until her vision blurred, she looked up at the computer screen, which displayed a browser window full of search results to various BDSM community and instructional Web sites. The morning after leaving Carl, she dove headfirst into a search for a job, expecting it to fill the vacuum left behind. Keep busy. That had become her mantra during the days, but the nights were pure hell. The Montgomerys’ house was large for three people; for one it was massive and lonely. And filled with memories of Carl. She never should’ve brought him here. Maybe then she would’ve been able to get him out of her mind. “Ha!” she said, trying to fill the cloying silence with some kind of sound. She clicked on a link and waited for the Web page to load. He hadn’t called, which she tried to explain away as typical of submissives. Wasn’t it up to the dominant partner to make the moves? Of course, she hadn’t done that either. Instead, she’d avoided Incognito, unsure how she’d handle—or survive—seeing him again. She wanted to run back into his arms now, beg him to take her, to agree to be hers forever; she didn’t dare consider how strong that urge would be if they were in the same room. Not a very dominant concept—groveling. She scanned the online article, tried to focus on the words about submissive levels and negotiation methods for D/s relationships, but his face appeared in her mind every time she closed her eyes. Carl. If she didn’t know better, she’d swear she caught the scent of his cologne at the oddest moments. And the plethora of sweet nothings he’d murmured in her ear echoed in her thoughts at all hours of the day and night. She startled when the phone rang. After snatching up the receiver, she said, “Hello?” “Hey, Car. How’s Florida?” “Liv, hi!” She smiled, but felt a twinge of regret at being disappointed that the caller was Olivia, not Carl. She thrust the thought aside, ignored Olivia’s question, and asked one of her own. “How’s Spain?”
105
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Excelente.” She listened to Olivia share some of her touristy experiences, while giving the occasional response to confirm that she was still on the line and listening, but her mind wandered back to Carl. She twirled a long lock of hair around her finger and stared off into space. “Helloooo?” “I’m sorry. What?” “Okay, spill it. What’s got you so preoccupied? You got a guy tied up or something?” I wish! Instead, a guy had her heart tied in knots. “No. I’m alone.” Her voice cracked as the weight of what she just said took hold of her thoughts. She was alone. She’d walked away from the one guy who really made her feel special. “Car? What’s wrong? Did something happen?” “I’m sorry,” Carmen repeated. “Would you stop apologizing and just tell me?” “I’m just... I lost my job,” she said instead. “Oh, no. What happened?” Carmen took a deep breath and shared the same story with Olivia that she’d already told Carl and, like him, her best friend expressed heart‐ felt sympathy and understanding. “So, I’m looking for a job here. I like Florida,” she explained, “but nothing is going as planned. So far, I’m oh‐for‐three on the interviews.” “Have you tried Incognito?” “Excuse me?” “Well, it’s not a five‐star hotel, but Kat’s club has a huge demand for house‐keeping. I’d swear I heard them talking about trying to find someone to manage it all before we left. It’s one of the reasons Kat remodeled that cottage out back.” Dare she try? Shaking her head, Carmen collapsed in the chair as Olivia’s words tumbled through her mind.
106
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton * * * * * Carl didn’t bother to look up as Kat came into the office with a cell phone at her ear. The financial figures he was reading—or rather trying to—became fuzzy as he half‐listened in on his boss’ conversation. “I’m looking for—? Well, yes, I guess I did mention that, but—Oh, I see. Yes, of course, I’ll be...happy...to take care of everything.” When Kat plopped into a chair opposite him, he glanced up to see her looking out the window, phone glued to her ear. He went back to his calculations and tried to concentrate, although he knew it was hopeless. “So, when are you and those sexy wine connoisseurs coming home? Ah. Excellent. Safe journey.” This time, Carl looked up and stared until she hung up. She flipped her phone shut, placed it on the desk, and began examining her red, press‐ on nails. “Well?” Her lengthy lashes rose as her gaze met his and one finely shaped eyebrow rose. “Well, what?” “Who was that?” She waved a hand, as if to brush away the question. “Oh, just Olivia.” He frowned. When she didn’t say anything more, he prompted her with, “And?” “And she just called to chit‐chat. She’ll be home Monday.” Chit‐chat about what? Not a word about Carmen? It was as if the woman had vanished. He gripped his pencil tighter, uncaring that it might snap. He’d gone to the Montgomery house in search of Carmen only to find no one home. He’d gone back again, thinking maybe he’d missed her the first time, but faced the same results. He’d stewed all week, a part of him believing she’d left for good, while another part wondered if she was just refusing to answer the door whenever he appeared. At the club, he’d kept an eye out for her to no avail, but after a few
107
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton nights, he’d retreated to the office, unwilling to try and keep up appearances any longer. His gaze lowered to the papers before him as he let slip the question he’d wanted to ask all along. “Did she mention anything about Carmen?” “Yeah, she spoke to her today in fact.” Carl’s gaze snapped to Kat’s, her expression neutral, which he tried to mimic although he knew he failed miserably. He struggled to keep the interest or hope from his voice as he asked, “Where is she?” Kat shrugged. “She didn’t say. At the Montgomerys’ house, I would imagine, though. After all, she came to Florida to housesit for them.” So Carmen was avoiding him. If she hadn’t left town and was still at the Montgomerys’, there was no reason for her not to answer his knock when he stopped by, unless she didn’t want to see him. She knew where he worked; she hadn’t sought him out. Fuck, that thought hurt. Kat’s phone rang once more. “Hello?” Carl went back to work or attempted to. It was impossible, however, with Carmen on his mind and a cauldron of emotions churning in his stomach. “Yes, we do,” he heard Kat say to the caller. “We pride ourselves on...exceptional services...such as that. Why don’t you come by today?” She laughed. “Yes, today. Why not? Perfect. See you then.” Carl struggled with his curiosity and refused to look up as she hung up the phone once more. He busied himself by tapping his pencil on the desk and staring sightlessly at the financial figures before him. “Get up, Carl. I’ve something for you to do.” “Oh? And what might that be?” He didn’t care for the smirk that Kat gave him. He knew his boss well enough to know that expression spelled Trouble—with a capital T. “Time for you to get over your funk and get back into the swing of
108
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton things.” He frowned. “Funk? Who says I’m in a funk?” “I do. Dalton, if he were here, would agree with me.” He snorted. “He would agree with damn near anything you said, but that doesn’t mean you’re right. I’m fine. Besides, I have a lot of work to do here.” She slapped her riding crop on the desk and rose slowly—almost cat‐like—to her high‐heeled feet. Her voice took on a very authoritative, decidedly angry pitch. “Don’t brush me off. We’ve known each other way too long, my friend. You’re slacking in your duties, and I’m here to tell you that it ends right now.” He leaned back in his chair and eyed her, his own temper rising. “I most certainly have not—” “You mean to tell me you haven’t been hiding away in this office the past week, moping over that Domme? What’s her name? Olivia’s friend...?” “Carmen.” “That’s it.” She gave him her best I‐know‐and‐see‐all look of arrogance. “I—” “On the few occasions you have come out of your hidey‐hole, you roam the club like you’re looking for someone. You can’t tell me you haven’t sat watching the front door on more than one occasion. And you aren’t even in costume tonight!” “Drop it, Kat. It’s still early yet. Besides, she’s gone, moved on. Hell, we only spent a few days together. Don’t make this bigger than it is.” He stared at her, wondering if she bought anything he said. A tough sell, since he didn’t believe a word of it himself. “I’m not gonna sit here wasting away pining over her.” Kat grinned like a...well, like a cat that just caught dinner. “Good, ’cause I have a prospective member, a Domme, that is on her way over here to check out the club, and I want to set her up with you for the night. You up for it?”
109
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton He was shaking his head before she even finished. “Kat, I don’t know... I’ve got a mess‐load of paperwork to finish, and the payroll to—” She threw up her hands. “Here come the excuses.” “I’m not making excuses.” He sounded defensive even to his own ears. “Prove it.” There was definitely a challenge in those words and her raised eyebrow. He sighed. Maybe it was for the best if he just moved on. Apparently Carmen already had. Although the idea left an acidic taste in his mouth, he said, “Fine. Where do you want me?”
110
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton
Chapter Twelve Carmen’s fist hovered before the front door of Incognito. This is ludicrous. She was crazy to consider working at the same club where Carl was. She’d have to watch him bow down to Kat on a nightly basis. Even if that was just an act, which she didn’t doubt for a minute, it still bothered her. How could she put herself through that every day and night? Her hand began to lower when the door opened to reveal the mistress of the club in full latex regalia. “Ah, you’re here,” she said with a bold, red‐lipped smile. “Uh, yes. Hi.” Carmen squeezed the handle of the satchel she held. Kat swung the door open wide to reveal Dalton standing behind her, slightly off to one side, with one hand at the small of her back and the other holding a full‐face motorcycle helmet. “Hello,” he said with a pleasant smile and a distinguished crinkle to his green eyes. “Hello,” she replied, holding out her hand. His smile broadened into a grin as he reached around Kat to shake her hand. “A pleasure to see you here again.” She tugged her hand free and murmured a brief, “Thank you.” He turned Kat in his arms and gave her a kiss. For two masters of domination, the display of affection was surprisingly tender and chaste. Carmen almost felt naughty for having stared so brazenly and not giving
111
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton the obvious lovebirds some privacy. “I’ll return shortly, kitten,” he said to Kat as he released her from his embrace. “Okay. Be careful.” He sent Kat a wink. “Always. Behave while I’m gone.” The look on Kat’s face was decidedly mischievous, but Carmen figured it was best not to comment. Instead, she waited patiently as Kat watched Dalton head off to his motorcycle. “Come on in,” Kat said after the bike’s engine roared to life. She stepped back and motioned with one hand. “The office is this way.” Carmen followed the dominatrix into a pristine office with heavy wooden furniture and walls of bookshelves. On the way, she glanced around, wondering where Carl was, then chastised herself for doing so. “Here we are. Would you care for a drink while we discuss the position?” Carmen took the proffered seat and shook her head at the offer for refreshment. She doubted her tummy could handle anything at the moment. “Very well. Let’s get down to business then. I understand you have experience in housekeeping?” Kat chose the seat beside her instead of behind the desk and crossed her long legs. “Yes, I brought my résumé.” She opened her satchel, hoping Kat didn’t notice the tremor in her fingers, and retrieved the paperwork. After handing it over to Kat, she sat silently as the woman looked over her credentials. “Impressive,” she said after a moment. “I’ve a couple questions for you.” “All right?” “You’ve been to the club twice now, the last time ending abruptly after an altercation with one of our more...assertive...patrons. What makes you want to work for Incognito?” Carl. She wanted to squirm, but didn’t. She wanted to chew her bottom lip, but fought the urge. “I’ve spent most of my adult life working

Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton at a five‐star hotel. It was stable employment for many years, but I’ve been looking for something different for a long time. When Olivia introduced me to the lifestyle, everything inside me... I don’t know how to describe it. It just struck a chord with me. I’d like to put my expertise to use, while experiencing something new and unique. I believe Incognito is the perfect place to do that.” Katriona nodded. “Next question...” Why did that sound so ominous? “What did you think of the punishment inflicted on Carl the other night?” Carmen’s attempt to swallow the lump in her throat failed miserably. If she answered truthfully, she risked angering the woman who inflicted the punishment, and there went her chance at the job. But to lie... She sucked in a slow, deep breath. “I didn’t like it.” One thin, black eyebrow arched. “Oh?” “The wrong person took a punishment for all the wrong reasons.” Kat’s nails tapped a light tattoo on the armrest of her chair. “Go on. Explain.” “That other Dom is a sadist who managed to twist the situation to serve his purposes. Carl believed that I would be punished for insulting Master Patrick, so he reacted prematurely. He didn’t give me the chance to clarify that the Dom had first insulted me. He took matters into his own hands rather than trust me to handle the situation and...dig myself out of the hole.” “You don’t think his lack of trust deserved such punishment?” “Trust is a gift to be given freely, not taken by force. And if anyone should have determined Carl’s fate, it should not have been that arrogant asshole that calls himself a Dom.” She hoped the slight curl to Katriona’s lips was a positive sign, but when the dominatrix suddenly rose to her feet, Carmen felt the bottom fall out of her stomach. “Let me take you on a tour of the club.”
113
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Oh, the Montgomerys gave me one the night of the auction.” She winced slightly at the memory of the scene she’d caused in the club parking lot as a result of that auction and hoped like hell that Kat didn’t notice. “Yes, well, let’s take another one. I could use the chance to get up and stretch my legs.” Carmen stood and immediately felt lacking in stature compared to Kat who wore stilettos. She’d dressed conservatively for the job interview—a sleek pencil skirt, matching teal blouse, and modest flats— but now she wondered if she should’ve donned something more risqué. This was a fetish club after all. She followed her host, her potential boss, out of the office and through the double doors of the main room. “We’re closed on Mondays, but most employees arrive by three in the afternoon the rest of the week. As you can see, patrons can trickle in early.” She gestured to a far corner where a couple was engaged in fellatio. So Carl should be here already. Somewhere, but where? “Housekeeping mainly occurs in the early morning hours, but I have at least two people working during regular hours to clean, sanitize and prep the voyeur rooms after each use. Those rooms are available on a first come first serve basis.” Kat chuckled then added, “No pun intended.” After Kat reintroduced Tyrone, the bartender, he sent them a salute and went back to stocking the shelves with bottles and glassware. Carmen kept an eye out for Carl and became a bit concerned when he didn’t readily appear as she was introduced to other club staff. “Where’s Carl?” The question that had plagued her since her arrival slipped out before she could prevent it, and she tried not to groan. Kat paused and said, “Carl? Oh, he’s tied up at the moment.” Carmen couldn’t hide the frown but managed to hold off the shudder when she realized Kat continued to stare, to study her. “Do you need to speak to him about something?” Carmen shrugged, unwilling to discuss Carl or her needs with Kat.
114
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton Finally, the latex‐clad dominatrix resumed the tour. Kat kept up a steady string of conversation while pointing out the housekeeping facilities and member amenities. Carmen struggled with feelings of disappointment as she followed Kat up a flight of stairs. “Up here are numerous bedrooms that club members can reserve for overnight occupancy,” Kat was saying. “Have you found a place to live yet?” “No, I haven’t. I intend to do so, though, after the Montgomerys return.” “I would like for the head of housekeeping to be close at hand, if possible. That’s why I renovated the caretaker’s cottage you stayed in; I want to provide it as one of the benefits of the position. Of course, most of our employees, including myself, live elsewhere, but Carl stays in another cottage similar to the caretaker’s.” Kat stopped at a closed door and looked at her. “That wouldn’t pose any problems for you, would it?” Carmen blinked. Yes, a damned serious problem of temptation. “Uh, no, not at all. Why should it?” Kat shrugged but grinned. “Good. As an employee, you’d also be eligible for a courtesy membership to the club, with certain guidelines for conduct during work hours, of course.” Carmen nodded. It was sounding more and more as if she’d landed herself a job. A possibility that sparked excitement at the same time it struck fear into her heart. How in the world was she going to handle being near Carl and avoid conflict? Where is he anyway? She hadn’t even spotted him today, and already the idea of seeing him again, despite the manner in which they’d parted ways, sent her emotions into a tornado‐like vortex. Kat placed a hand on the doorknob. “Each of our rooms offers its own unique challenge as far as maintenance goes.” Carmen could certainly agree to that. Not many hotel rooms contained bondage equipment like cages or saddled sawhorses. “This is one of our most popular bedrooms.” Kat opened the door
115
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton so Carmen could enter. A mere two steps inside, she froze. Her gaze centered on the shirtless man bound with ropes to a chair in the center of the room. Clad only in black jeans and boots, he sat with knees spread the width of the chair, each ankle tied to one of the front legs. His arms were pulled behind him and tied at elbow and wrist to the back of the chair, giving her a perfect view of his broad chest and sexy abs...and the thin trail of hair that vanished beneath his waistband. Mierda. She raised her gaze to a safer area above his shoulders. A snug, black leather hood covered his whole head with the only openings being two small air holes positioned at his nose, but she didn’t need to see his face to recognize him. Carl. “I believe there remains some unfinished business between you two.” Although she heard Kat’s words, Carmen couldn’t look away from Carl who lifted his chin, a clear signal that he was aware of their presence. “I’ll leave you to settle the matter...at your leisure. He’s all yours.” With that cryptic comment, Kat retreated from the room and closed the door behind her. What the hell? Kat left him...with her? Was she handing him over for good? She eyed Carl. Did he know? Did he want this? Questions swirled without answers but, after one look back at the closed door, she decided she’d been given plenty of time to discover them. She took several seconds to inspect the room and could easily see why it was one of the favorites among patrons. It was very spacious, which hinted at it being the master bedroom in a former life. The bed hugged the far wall opposite the door and was crowned with a sheer curtain of pale ivory netting. The décor of soft, champagne‐colored silks offered a romantic air that she found pleasing to the eye and calming to her overactive nerves. As beautiful as it was, there was still evidence that this was a room in a fetish club. An open armoire held a variety of fetish tools and erotic
116
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton toys, which she eyed with an excited grin. Having done quite a bit of research recently, she knew she could put a lot of them to use, but not yet. The collection also included candles. After a quick glance at Carl, she struck a match and lit several of the larger ones, setting them about the room and letting their fragrance fill the air with a touch of vanilla. The flickering flames further cast the room into a soft, sensuous light. She glanced at Carl again and noticed him lift his head as if scenting the aroma with mild curiosity. His chest rose and fell in a slow, smooth rhythm. He showed no signs of stress or any of the inner turmoil that affected her psyche. She felt...jittery with anticipation, nervous about fulfilling her responsibility toward him. Had he known she’d be the Domme to walk through the door when he submitted to the bondage? That question echoed in her mind as she, instinctively aware that delay could be a very effective aphrodisiac, took more time to check out the room. Against one corner was a stack of cube and ramp‐shaped cushions in different sizes that caused a wealth of ideas for their use to sweep through Carmen’s mind. She closed her eyes and envisioned herself draped over the largest one as Carl pounded into her from behind. The brief fantasy made her breathing unsteady. As if privy to her seductive thoughts, he squirmed on the chair, tugging on the bonds and making the chair creak. He didn’t speak, though, and she suspected he couldn’t as long as the hood remained in place. But he could hear; that was obvious when he stilled and turned his head toward her as she approached him. From a short distance, Carmen inspected the ropes that bound him and discovered they appeared secure—no secret switches to enable his release, as he had in his usual cuffs. “Are you comfortable?” she asked. He squirmed his hips, which drew her gaze to his crotch and brought a smile to her face. She bit back the giggle though, since his erection made it obvious he wasn’t at all comfortable inside those snug jeans. She’d been thinking not of that when she asked the question, but
117
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton rather him having to sit straight up in that chair. It appeared the chair was the least of his concerns. She worried her bottom lip before asking the next question. “Do you want me to release you?” No pause. He nodded. A tear came to one eye. He didn’t want to be here...with her? “You want this to end? Do you want to use your safe word?” A quick, fierce shake of his head. Oh. She swiped at the tear and took a steadying breath. “What if I don’t want to release you? What if I want to enjoy the feel of your body...your warm, hard muscles...under my hand?” As she spoke, she ran her hand up his thigh from knee to just short of where his cock pressed against the fabric. The closer she drew to his crotch, the warmer his body felt beneath her hand. Oh, yes, he was very aroused. She squeezed his thigh. He groaned and lifted his hips toward her touch. She skipped over where he wanted her to be and instead reached up to trail her fingertips from his shoulders, down his pecs, and over the rippled hills and valleys of six‐pack abs. He lifted his hooded face toward the ceiling as if praying for mercy. After walking around behind him, she reached over his shoulders to stroke his chest, scraped her nails lightly over his taut skin, and heard him hiss. His fingers splayed and fisted while the strong muscles in his arms tensed, bulged. Bending down, she pressed a kiss to the side of his neck and caught the subtle scent of cologne, a masculine, musky fragrance that made her draw in a deeper breath. She loved his body. Just touching him or the feel of his strong arms encircling her was enough to warm her heart. But she loved more than his body, more than what he could do to her, for her, physically. She wanted to show him the power behind her feelings toward him as a Domme. As a woman. He’d shown her the true heart of a submissive, loving nature. He’d demonstrated how much he cared for her as a person, so much so that he
118
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton wanted—genuinely desired—to please her in a multitude of ways. The only thing missing was proof of his trust, evidence of his faith in her ability to provide the same in return. “I can’t continue,” she murmured in his ear, “until I know for certain that you want this. All of it.” She unfastened the hood and pulled it off his head. He blinked several times before turning his head to look at her over his shoulder. “I thought you left,” he said. His voice held a mix of accusation with a touch of sorrow. So he had missed her. She shook her head as she stepped around to stand at his side. One hand lay on his shoulder. “I never went far, only to the Montgomerys’—” He shook his head. “I called. I went there, twice, and you didn’t answer.” Oh, damn. And she’d thought he— “I couldn’t sit there and do nothing. I’ve been out searching for a job so I can live here permanently.” He looked away. “Oh.” She turned his head so that he had to look at her once more. “I’m here now.” “Why?” The question was sharp, the hurt evident. It was a good question and deserving of the truth. “I want to give us a chance. I can’t guarantee that I won’t make mistakes as a Domme or as a partner, but I sense that we have something special. I’d like to see where it can lead us. The only question now is whether you’re willing to give me what I need to make this...relationship...between us work. Do you want this?” Do you want me?

Chapter Thirteen His heart screamed for him to say yes, but his mind urged caution. “What is it that you need?” “The truth. No illusions, no acting. No saying what you think I want to hear.” She tugged on the rope at his elbow, and it came undone. She held it up for him to see. “No fake props with hidden escape switches or easily unraveled binds. And no part‐time commitments.” No more pretending, he added to himself. This time, everything would be for real, the risk higher but the reward much greater. He glanced from the rope to her face. Her eyes were guarded but sincere. “I want to give you everything I have to give, Carl. All of the time. I need to know if you’ll do the same? Do you trust me enough to risk your heart? To see where this journey together might lead?” What did she intend to do to him? Did he dare take the risk? He’d always had Kat there to look out for him, but not this time. They weren’t in one of the voyeur rooms where there were safeguards in place should something go wrong. This time he’d be at the mercy of another for real. But this was Carmen. His Carmen, the one his soul cried out to call his mistress. He stared into the dark depths of her eyes, saw the raw need she had, the desire to know whether he’d been honest before when he said he believed in her. It was time to put his money where his mouth was or, in this case, his body where his vow was. Just as he recognized the first signs of doubt cross her face, he
120
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton nodded and lowered his gaze in a traditional show of respect. “Yes, Mistress.” “Don’t call me that.” He winced and couldn’t help but look back at her. “You call Kat that. You’ve no doubt called countless women you’ve met at Incognito that. I don’t want to be lumped in with all of them.” Understanding her reasons, he again dropped his gaze to the floor and waited. “The Spanish word for mistress is amante. Have you ever used that term before?” “No.” Although he recognized the root stemmed from another word in Spanish that held a wealth of emotional meaning...amor. That realization made him want to grin like a fool, but he resisted. “Good. Then that’s what I would like you to call me, understood?” Would like... Not a command. A request. His choice. His decision. Damn, he loved her for that. He looked her in the eye when he answered, “Yes, Amante.” She smiled, and a heavy weight lifted from inside his chest. Although bound, he experienced an emotional release, a sudden high, a sense of relief. My amante. As the words rooted in his mind, Carl’s heart swelled with so many feelings he thought it might burst. She hadn’t left him, or she’d come back. Either way, he rejoiced in her presence and wanted to be freed so that he could hug her close and never let her go. She came around in front of him, slid her skirt up her thighs, and straddled him. He swallowed hard and tried not to move for fear that one lurch of his hips would have him ejaculating inside his pants. With a casual grin, she draped her arms over his shoulders to encircle his neck and met his gaze. “You’ve taught me so many things about this lifestyle.” She dropped her gaze to his chest and placed a hand over his heart, which responded with a rapid thud. “Thank you.” She leaned forward and pressed a soft, tender kiss to his lips.
121
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton He closed his eyes and opened his mouth, the desire to kiss her harder, to take command nearly overwhelming. She didn’t delve into his mouth, though, as he wanted. Instead, she nipped and sucked his bottom lip, then left a trail of sweet kisses along his jaw. Oh, God. He let his head fall back and prayed for the strength to submit to whatever she had in store for him. Whoever said subs were weak could fuck off. Sitting motionless while she sat astride him—her pussy grinding against his ready cock, her lips tempting him to insanity—was the hardest thing he’d ever had to face. It took every ounce of willpower in his being to not yank free of his ties, to not take her the way he wanted. To let her have her way. Just when he thought he couldn’t take any more, she pulled away and stood up. A conflict raged inside him as relief battled with disappointment. Relief that she’d given him a reprieve before he came in his pants. Disappointment that she’d backed away and no longer touched him at all. “Release yourself from the chair.” He blinked at her. She stood with her arms crossed over her ample breasts, her skirt back in place. Only her slightly swollen lips showed signs of the erotic stimulation he’d experienced. “Come on,” she said. “I know you can. As easily as that one rope fell away from your arm, you can get loose, I’m certain.” With a sigh, he blindly fumbled with the ties that dangled from his wrists behind him. While he worked on the ropes, she walked over to a stack of geometric bondage cushions and tugged the largest away from the wall. When she placed a spreader bar under the cushion, a lump lodged in his throat. One arm free, he worked on the rope at his other elbow while continuing to watch her every move. She placed a smaller, triangular cushion at the bottom of the other ramp‐like one. Then she turned toward him.
122
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton He bent forward and went to work on the cords around his ankles. In another few seconds, he was free from the chair. But when he stood and turned toward her, she trapped him with those captivating eyes. He didn’t move a muscle as she approached him, except for his heart that pounded against his ribcage. It could no more escape his body than he could escape her gaze. Without breaking eye contact, she offered him a tender smile, and her hands dipped to his belt buckle. A determined flick and a sharp tug later, she had his buckle undone and was pulling the leather strap. As each inch slithered from its loops, he found breathing a virtual impossibility. That changed, however, when she tossed the belt aside and her fingers dipped inside the waistband of his jeans. The top button released, and he sucked in a deep breath between clenched teeth as she tugged his zipper down. His cock bulged against the more flexible material of his cotton briefs, and relief exploded on a sigh. Her smile became lopsided before she asked, “Feeling better, querido?” “Oh, yeah,” he murmured and watched her smile brighten to a full‐ fledged grin. He had to fist his hands to keep from pulling her into his arms. The urge grew stronger when she stepped away from him. “Take your boots and pants off.” He dropped onto the chair and wasted no time. When he stood once more, this time in nothing but his underwear, she eyed him from head to toe. Then, she took her own sweet time removing the last trace of clothes from his body. She ran a fingertip along the elastic waistband, a stroke that tickled at the same time as it tantalized. What in the hell had he been thinking when he taught her to postpone the inevitable? His thighs tensed. His abs pulled taut. He ground his teeth against the need to scream for her to hurry. She dipped her thumbs inside. She was killing him. Dead. I’m going to snap in two. His cock was so hard he hurt with the need to take her, fuck her,
123
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton and feel her climax around him. Finally, she tugged the briefs down, and he was free. The conditioned air of the room cooled his overheated flesh and offered some respite as he stepped out of his underwear. “Lie down on that,” she said, pointing to the cushions. “On your back. I want your ass on this end.” He saw this end meant the highest point of the ramp. He did as told but not without curious hesitation. What exactly did she have planned? When he was in place, his feet planted flat on the floor, she took his hands and bound them, one to each end of the spreader bar that poked out from underneath the cushion on which he lay. A moment later he felt the same tightening around his ankles. She’d attached a second bar to keep his feet spread apart, although he could lift his legs if he wanted. For now, however, he lay still and watched her return to the armoire. A couple of tugs proved he would not get free from these cuffs. A unique rush of adrenaline raced through his system at that realization. His senses sharpened. He dropped his head back on the smaller cushion, which supported his head and shoulders, and stared at the ceiling. Candlelight danced with shadows above him while the scent of vanilla teased his nostrils. He closed his eyes in wonder at how he felt, knowing he was trapped. He’d expected fear and, yes, it simmered beneath the surface, but he also experienced an unfathomable sense of effusion. Soft footsteps sounded when Carmen returned. By the time he opened his eyes and lifted his head, she’d knelt between his thighs. “What’s your safe word?” “Red light.” She nodded. “I want to take you further than you ever imagined possible, Carl, but you have to trust me completely. Do you know that I would never harm you?” “Yes...Amante.” Her smile lit her face and warmed his heart. “You’ve served me even when you weren’t mine. Tonight, I return that service—” “Amante—”
124
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton “Don’t interrupt. A mistress’ number one responsibility is to see to the care and nurturing of her submissive lover. I would be selfish and remiss if all I ever did was order you to fulfill my needs.” His cock had softened some, but as she spoke and rubbed his thighs, the erection returned full force. Before, he would’ve suspected that she touched him absentmindedly, but somehow he doubted that now. No longer the naïve mistress‐in‐training, she was all too aware of the effect her touch had on him. He was certain of it. She reached down a second and then straightened up with a blindfold held aloft in one hand. “Will you trust me with total control of your body?” “Yes, Amante.” She surprised him by dropping the blindfold on his stomach and climbing to her feet. Holding his gaze, she began to strip at an excruciatingly slow pace. Carl felt his cock harden more with every inch of silky flesh she revealed. She stopped when she stood between his thighs in nothing but a garter belt, thigh‐high stockings, thong and satin bra. The vision of her well‐endowed body made his mouth water, his cock throb, and he jerked against the cuffs that secured his hands. He wanted emancipation now so he could yank her beneath him and power into her warm, tight body until they both collapsed with exhaustion. Instead, she forced him to watch helplessly as she released her long, dark hair from its confines. “Amante, please. Let me go. Now. I want—” “No. This night is yours—” “Then let me loose. I want to love you, make love to you, so bad. I can’t wait anymore.” “Patience, querido. Isn’t that what you preached to me?” “Fuck that. I lied.” She laughed. “I want you to love me, too. But tonight I’m going to make love to you. My way. Understood?” He dropped his head back on the cushion. “You’re going to kill me.”
125
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton She braced a hand beside him and bent over him. “Never. Don’t even say that.” He blinked at her. “I didn’t mean—” Remorse swelled in him at his ill‐chosen words. “I know what you meant, but I’m telling you I’ll never harm you any more than you would hurt me. But I am determined to push you beyond your comfort zone, to take you where you’ve never dared venture before. If you’ll allow me. If not, you need only say your safe word. Is that clear?” He stared at her for a long, silent moment and then nodded. He’d be damned before he’d utter his safe word to stop her. He didn’t want her to stop. He wanted her to hurry. She smiled. Her hand cradled his cheek. “I’m nervous, but excited.” Her sudden remark, issued with such unexpected honesty, made him grin. The innocence with which she admitted her own feelings was the final tug that bound his heart to hers. “I love you,” he said, the words slipping out as quick and natural as the blink of an eye. She grinned, but instead of returning his declaration, she slipped the blindfold over his eyes. “Lie back. Relax. And enjoy.” Darkness surrounded him. Fear, mild but persistent, hovered. Curious anticipation sizzled inside him. He flinched when he felt along his side the gentle scrape of...a fingernail? Then a flick of that nail over one nipple. Mmm, nice. But he needed her touch several inches lower. The next sensation was just as abrupt; something cold trickled over his chest. Her hands began to rub in the liquid, and he realized it must be lotion or oil of some kind. He took a deep breath of air and caught a faint, spicy scent. The oil warmed under her touch, and the tender massage made it easy for him to relax further. Her avoidance of his crotch kept his erection from becoming unbearable. But then something soft pressed against his inner thigh, and he suspected she’d kissed him there. That thought was confirmed when she
126
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton nipped that same spot with her teeth. His fingers curled into fists as more nips and licks followed up one leg, then the other. He heard a squirt and pictured her squeezing more oil in her hands. Seconds later she ran her palms over his thighs. Her fingers splayed over his hips, her thumbs so close to his cock that his breath hitched. Do it! Warm air swept over his cock and balls as she exhaled. He shifted on the cushion, a slight lift to his hips, a silent plea. A warm, moist stroke from balls to tip caused his cock to harden and lurch. He moaned and longed for more. Her oil‐slick fingers circled and fondled his sac while she repeatedly licked and kissed his length. He tried to think of something else, anything other than the woman crouched between his bound legs and the pleasure she gave him. But with his eyesight impeded, his other senses focused on the scent of the oil, the sound of her kisses, and the erotic touch of her hands. If she didn’t command him to come soon, he’d succumb anyway and embarrass himself. His pulse thumped beneath his skin. His lungs labored for air. The cuffs bit into his wrists. He began to squirm only to have her suck his cock into her mouth. “Oh, fuck yes!” She gently squeezed and rolled his balls with her fingers. Her tongue swiped the sensitive underside of his cock, and her lips tightened around him as she drew him in and out and in the hot, moist depths of her mouth. He hadn’t ejaculated since the last time he’d been with her. Several days of celibacy that came back to haunt him now. He’d been on edge the moment he realized Carmen was the one who entered the room. He couldn’t take much more temptation before he’d explode. “Please, Amante,” he said with the hope that she understood and would say the words he longed to hear, but instead she sucked harder. He groaned and gritted his teeth. He didn’t want to come like some
127
Incognito: Charming Carmen by Madison Layle & Anna Leigh Keaton inexperienced youth. If she didn’t stop though, he would. She released his cock, and he breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m not going to say the words, querido. That’s your way of maintaining control, isn’t it?” Shit! She was right, but that didn’t mean he wanted to admit it. Just say the damn word. He wanted to scream the command, but didn’t. He knew she wouldn’t obey him. Not now. He bucked his hips. He needed to be inside her. He wanted to feel her tight warmth shudder in sated surrender around him. Instead, he lay exposed before her in both body and spirit. As he yanked against his wrist cuffs, he fought against her demand for him to lose all control. Then she dipped a finger downward—a gentle, unnerving stroke along the skin between his balls and asshole. “Uh...Car— Amante?” The finger disappeared, and he released a sigh only to have it come up short when her finger—or something—returned. He tried to close his knees, but she knelt between them and formed a very effect wedge. “Relax, Carl. Let me pleasure you. It’s time to let go.” Once more, she suckled his solid cock into her hot mouth and then hummed on her next stroke. The vibrations nearly sent him over the edge. He was so close. So fucking close! He arched his body as the urge to surrender rose. She pinched one of his nipples, catching him by surprise. He collapsed onto the sloped cushions, his hips still raised to within easy reach of her mouth, which continued to suck and stroke him without mercy. Pulling back, her tongue flicked the head of his cock. “Mmm.” Her fingers—he was sure of that now—rubbed his balls and the flesh beneath. He felt the oil she’d used warm his skin, his genitals, and he couldn’t stop the moan from escaping. Then she gripped his cock in her other hand and slid up and down his entire length. “Let go, querido. Let yourself enjoy the pleasure I can provide.” She slipped a fingertip into his anus, and he hissed, panted. Tried to calm down, but it was too late. Her one hand quickened her strokes on

The sensations overwhelmed him as he cried out her name and lifted his legs. She thrust her finger in and out in tandem with her tight grip on his cock. “Oh, yeah...” he said on a groan. All thoughts coalesced, floated in a subspace of euphoric arousal. The pressure built. The orgasm eminent. “Te amo, querido. I love you.” Her hand and finger stilled in that instant, but it didn’t matter. At her whispered words, he surrendered, tumbled over the invisible cliff, his cum shooting across his abdomen.

Chapter Fourteen Carmen retrieved a heated, damp terrycloth hand towel from a nearby warmer, washed her hands, and cleaned up his cum. Carl lay motionless except for his deep breaths. His cock softened in sated aftermath. She paused a moment to save the vision of him in her memory. He appeared so relaxed and peaceful that she never wanted to forget this day or the way his body responded to the touch of her hands. She unbound his wrists and ankles, stripped off his blindfold and, after a few quick blinks, his gaze locked with hers. He lifted a free hand, his index finger curling in a come here signal. She leaned over him, one hand braced on the cushion at his side, but apparently that wasn’t close enough. He cupped the back of her head and drew her down for a very thorough kiss. She whimpered into his mouth. As the kiss continued, their tongues dueling, breaths exchanging, he sat up. His palms cupped her jaw, his fingers weaving into her hair. Without breaking the kiss, he stood up, lifted her in his arms, and carried her to the bed, where he earned a yelp and bark of laughter when he dumped her there. “Did I say you could do that?” She tried to give him a stern look but knew it was an utter failure when he grinned at her. Crawling onto the bed, he lay beside her, pulled her back into his arms, and gave her a peck on the tip of her nose. She smiled at him and ran a hand over his bicep. “You’re forgiven.”

He nipped her finger then said, “Please. I have to hear it again.” “I love you, Carl.” He dipped his head and claimed her mouth in another kiss, this one slow and sensual. When he gave her a chance to breathe, she murmured against his mouth, “Make love to me, querido.” He smiled against her lips. “Your wish is my pleasure, my amante.” * * * * * Much later, their clothing restored, Carl and Carmen emerged from the bedroom to see the club’s night well underway. Exchanging grins, she interlaced their fingers and led the way downstairs. As she descended, she wondered how Kat was going to react to the loss of her slave. Carl suggested they fill her in within the privacy of the office, once they located her and Dalton. Together, he’d said, they could stage some kind of ceremony or something to appease the club members without giving away any secrets. They stopped at the bar, where Carl got Tyrone’s attention. “Ty, you seen Kat anywhere?” He shook his head while pouring a Blue Orgasm for...oh, shit. “Well, if it isn’t the wannabe mistress and Kat’s man‐whore.” Patrick eyed Carl’s bare chest before turning his sneer toward her. “You musta paid a pretty penny to get her to unchain him for ya. Though I see ya failed to collar him your‐shelf. Ya ready to admit you belong on a leash?” “Master Patrick—” “Carl.” He stopped the instant she said his name, which did her heart

With Carl at her back and Tyrone nearby as witness, Carmen returned the jerk’s bloodshot stare head‐on. “I’m surprised you haven’t learned by now not to insult a Domme. Care to apologize?” He snorted and swayed. She could tell by how he slurred his words that the Blue Orgasm was not his first drink of the night. “I would if I was speakin’ ta one worthy of shh‐uch homage.” It was obvious that his hackles were still up after she publicly rejected his advances. However, his verbal barbs didn’t have the impact they had before. Despite having two women on chains, he was nothing more than a sad, lonely man. “And if you weren’t drunk, I might care, but you are and I don’t. So I suggest you take your insults and your drink, and go back to your slaves. We have more important things to do tonight.” She took hold of Carl’s hand. “Come along, Carl.” “Yes, my mistress.” She knew he used the English word for the benefit of Patrick, so she didn’t correct him, but they didn’t get far. Patrick grabbed Carl by the arm, and he stopped with a tug on her hand. “She’s not your mistress.” Exhibiting so much control it amazed her, Carl looked from the fingers banding his bicep to her. “Let go of him,” Carmen ordered in a tone that made the offensive Dom take an unsteady step back. He narrowed his eyes and pointed a shaky finger at her. “I see what you’re up to. Kat...w‐won’t allow it.” “Won’t allow what?” Katriona asked with a sharp strike of her riding crop against her own thigh as she came to a stop beside them. Patrick’s attention swung to the latex‐clad dominatrix, and he steadied himself with a hand on the back of a chair. “You have a u‐shuper in the club...a thief tryin’ to take your p‐property.” “A usurper, huh?” she asked with a glance at Carmen. Carl squeezed her hand gently. Kat looked at Carl, her gaze dropping to their clasped hands then

She faced Master Patrick. “I thank you for your efforts on my behalf, but I must ask you to look closer. You’ll notice that Carl no longer wears my chains, as it should be. No one can steal from me what I no longer own.” Carl’s thumb brushed the back of her hand, and Carmen turned to grin at him only to see his gaze lowered to the floor. She lifted his clean‐ shaved chin with a finger. “Thank you,” she said to Kat, but loud enough for those nearby to overhear. “I vow to take care of him always—to treasure his heart, as I would my own.” “It is your own,” he said, never looking away from her. “My amante...my love.” The End.
