Chapter One
“Five hundred hours of community service and suspension of your driver’s license until it’s done.” Judge Blackbird slammed the gavel down. “Five hundred…?” Linc protested under his breath. “I wouldn’t have gotten caught if that damned old biddy hadn’t pulled out in front of me!” His lawyer, Harvey, tugged on his arm, trying to shut him up. “Old biddy, huh?” The judge looked down at him from behind thick spectacles. His gaze swung to the court reporter. “The Court retracts the sentence it just gave this young man.” Linc’s chest puffed up, feeling vindicated. “Mr. Parrish, the older citizens of our community should be revered, not blasphemed. Your license is suspended and you now have one thousand continuous hours of community service. At the Aviary.” He pounded the gavel. “Case closed.”
“This is a bird sanctuary?” Linc asked as his lawyer turned off the highway at Desert Springs and drove up and around the curved drive. Desert palms and a variety of flowering plants graced the front of a magnificent two-storied stucco house with tall white columns across the front. “I can hang out here for awhile. No sweat.” Harvey had explained that continuous service meant Linc had to stay there, but he had access to his cell phone and laptop, which were about all he needed to do his job. “You just don’t get it, do you, Linc?” Harvey asked. “Get what? I only had a couple of drinks and was driving home minding my own business. I got a ticket because some old lady pulled out in front of me. Otherwise, the cops would never have checked my breath.” “No, I mean about being here.”

Linc shrugged. “How hard will it be to watch a bunch of birds for a month or two?” Harvey laughed. “You’re on your own, boy.” He tossed Linc’s duffle on the ground beside the car. “Remember, no driving, and you’re stuck here for the duration.” “No problem. I’ve got it covered.” Linc picked up the duffle, slung his laptop strap over his shoulder and sauntered up the steps. “I can handle birds; it’s that old bat who caused my problem.” He walked into a foyer larger than his entire condo in Ventura Beach. All this for a bunch of birds? He shook his head, thinking some old lady with too much money must have left it all to her parakeet when she’d died. He didn’t really have anything against old people. After all, he had a grandpa in a retirement home nearby, but shit… Money like this could buy a good quarterback for the Forty-Niners football team. He bent over to look at a directory that was attached to the wall only about four feet off the floor. A hand slid across his butt, lingering where his legs met his crotch. He jerked upright, whirled around and then had to glance down to find the culprit. “Nice firm butt. Betcha got a lot of muscle under there.” A hunched-shoulder, old lady, not more than four feet tall, grinned lewdly up at him. “What are you doing?” “Copping a feel. Don’t tell me you didn’t like it?” “Oh sure. Every guy likes getting felt up by some ninety-year-old lady.” “Seventy-three, and honey if I ain’t dead, I still got working parts.” Her gaze slid over him, stopping at his crotch. “That’s really gross.” He quickly looked around the entry, trying to figure things out. “Why is this directory so low?” “Have you noticed the residents? They’re either short, in wheel chairs, or hunched over with age. How do you expect us to see it up at your altitude?” “Residents?” Linc asked, a horrible suspicion making its way to the front of his brain. “I didn’t know birds could read?” The old lady snorted. “Birds? You must have been sent over by Judge Blackbird.” “Yeah, so?” She laughed outright, shaking her head. “Gotta give Blackbird credit. You’re not the first youngun who didn’t know where he was going. Welcome to the Aviary.” She swept her

arm in an arc to encompass the entire place. “A sanctuary for old birds and biddies, like myself.” She continued laughing as she walked toward a door in the centre of the far wall. “I’m Florence – just call me Flo -- Campbell. Come on. I’ll take you to Suni.” Stunned, Linc followed her through the door and across a large open area awash with light from the windows on both sides. An area to one side held a television, piano and a couple of love seats and overstuffed chairs. Pink and white crepe paper streamers draped the archways and doors, and red paper hearts were taped haphazardly on the walls. Acid churned in Linc’s stomach. Birds didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. “Don’t know what Blacky was thinking, sending you here.” The old woman continued to mutter. “You’re just exactly what she doesn’t need.” She pointed to a door on the left and then kept moving. “There’s the Eagle’s Nest. Gotta go tell the gals. Fireworks are going to be happening around here for sure.” Her cackle carried as she shuffled across the open area and disappeared through another door. Linc turned. Suni Hart, Director, was engraved on a brass plaque centred on the oak door. He had the uneasy feeling he’d been dropped into the Twilight Zone, and reached for his cell phone to call Harvey to come back and get him. The door opened and a gorgeous Amazon practically ran him down. She had red hair and green eyes and was six foot tall if she was an inch. “Oh, I’m sorry,” she said, her voice deep and husky. It turned Linc on. She backed up a bit, then cocked her head at him. “Please don’t tell me you’re Lincoln Parrish?” He frowned. That wasn’t the usual attitude women had around him. “Please don’t tell me I’m stuck in an old folks’ home for the next month and a half.” It was beginning to dawn on him exactly why the judge had laughed when he gave Linc the sentence. Amazon sighed, then turned back to her office, muttering, “Lucas usually sends young punks. You look old enough to be naughty.” Linc watched her hips sway as she walked away from him, her words causing an instant hard-on. She wore a long, wispy skirt that swished around her calves. Her trim ankles, all that he could see, only made him wonder about the rest, hidden beneath the skirt. He followed her into the office and closed the door behind him. She leaned against her desk,

crossing her arms beneath large, heavy breasts that Linc longed to bury his face in. She rubbed her arms, as though warding off a chill. Linc thought the room was hot—at least with the way she was looking him up and down. “I’m Suni Hart, the director.” She turned slightly and picked up a folder from her desk. When she flipped it open, Linc noticed his name on the tab. “I’m surprised. I expected someone younger. Drinking and driving seems a little odd for someone your age. You should have known better.” “I’m only thirty-one. Not exactly decrepit. I wouldn’t have gotten caught if some old lady hadn’t pulled out in front of me.” She smiled, arching a brow. The temperature in the room notched up several degrees. “If you had that attitude in court, I understand why you’re here now.” “Why is a beautiful, young woman like you the administrator at a cuckoo’s nest for old biddies?” “Mr. Parrish, I’d suggest you be careful how you address the Aviary and its residents. You might never get out of here.” Her words sounded serious, but when his gaze snapped back to hers, he found clear sexual interest in her eyes, as though the thought of him captive here turned her on. His balls tightened. She approached, slowly walking around him like she was inspecting a prize bull. Linc straightened to his full five foot, ten inch height. He’d done the same with women on occasion, but this was different. Her blatant appraisal had him wanting to whip out his cock for her to look at too, because he knew he had enough to satisfy. Although she didn’t lay a hand on him, he felt her breath against the back of his neck. He kept his eyes forward, absorbing the intense pleasure of not knowing what she planned. “To answer your question, my uncle asked me to run the place. He thought it would help me with my…addiction.” “Well, it can’t be drugs, since you have access to all the old b—senior citizens’ meds.” “No, it’s nothing illegal. I just have this…attitude…about…sex.” She had come back in front of him and her gaze fixed on his crotch. “Don’t tell me you do it with old people. Fuck.” Linc shivered. There were some things even he couldn’t imagine.

“No, that’s why my uncle thought being around them would keep me out of trouble. And I usually see young kids to work off their community service because I won’t mess around with anyone underage.” Linc was stuck on what she had said about a sex attitude. “Getting back to your attitude about sex?” She sighed, her breasts almost touching his chest. “I like it…a lot.” “So if it’s not some dirty old man or cocksure teen, what do you consider the right age?” She did touch him then, her hand sliding up his thigh to cup him. “How old did you say you were?” Linc grabbed her against him, his mouth finding hers with the speed of light. She tasted like strawberries, wild and sweet. His hands slid over her ass and gathered up her skirt. He felt the thin strap of a thong. Other than that, her bare ass was warm and silky against his palms. He groaned. “If this is a test, I’m screwed,” he muttered, jerking off her sweater then pulling her skirt down to pool at her feet. Her breasts were just as full and heavy as he’d imagined, and with a flick of his wrist, her bra fell to the floor. He buried his face in the twin mounds that jiggled in front of him. Her hands were on his trousers, and a minute later he was naked. “This is just between you and me. It has nothing to do with your community service, court, or the residents.” She pulled away, standing tall and almost naked in front of him and he groaned. His cock jerked and grew as though stretching toward her cunt; smelling, as he could, the sweet scent of arousal. She put her thumbs under the edge of her thong but didn’t take it off. It was a tease. “Is that understood?” He thought to test her. He could tell by her glazed eyes and panting breath that she wanted it bad. He circled his cock and stroked, rubbing his thumb across the head to feel a drop of cum. She licked her lips. “Fucking you won’t reduce my community service?” She shook her head adamantly, her gaze never leaving his cock. Her breath was harsh. Damn, she was hot for him. Still… “It won’t increase it either?”

Her gaze shot to his, a frown marring her beauty. “I told you this is between you and me. Nothing more, nothing less.” “Just sex?” “Just fucking.” The way she said the word turned him on, big time. He released his cock, grabbed his pants and dug a condom out of his wallet. She stepped closer. “On the couch. Let me do that.” She held out her hand and he noticed it trembled. He moved to the couch and sat. She came and stood before him then slowly dragged her thong down her long legs, stepping out of it. She slid her hands up her legs, over her thighs to stop at her hips. Linc’s gaze locked on her pussy as she spread her female lips to reveal a pearly clit surrounded by soft pink. And it was already wet and glistening. His muscles tightened and his cock jerked when she touched herself. “You like?” she whispered. Damn, he’d never had a woman look at him like she wanted to devour him whole. “I’m new here. You’ll have to tell me what my duties are.” She smiled. “I’d rather show you.” She knelt between his legs, her hands sliding up his thighs. Then she bent and took him in her mouth. Linc’s head fell back against the couch, his hips rearing to meet her as she sucked him deep. Her tongue swirled around the head then flicked across the opening. He reached down to caress her bare shoulders and she swatted his hands away. “Don’t touch me. I’ll come if you do.” The words were muttered against his throbbing cock as she licked the underside from base to tip. “You? Fuck, baby, you have me on the edge now.” In answer, she nipped the tip of him, then licked, the pleasure-pain catapulting him to a new level. Linc liked giving his partners control once in a while, but this wasn’t one of those times. He grabbed her under the arms, pulling her up his length until she lay against his chest. “Next time, you can suck me dry if you want. Right now, I want in your hot, wet cunt.” She gave him that smile. “How do you know I’m wet?” “I can smell you.” He bent his head to lick across her breasts. Her nipples were deep rose and pebbled. “I can see you.” He slid his hands down the backs of her thighs and spread

her legs to the outside of his. “I can feel you. You’re dripping for me.” He lifted his leg slightly and she rubbed herself against it. Oh, yeah, she was wet and ready. She sat on his thighs, reaching down to roll on the condom. He was stiff and so hard he thought he would burst any second, but she just smiled, sliding a red-painted nail across his tip. Even through the latex, he felt her. “You’re killing me.” She glanced up at him. “You have such an attitude, Mr. Parrish.” He grinned, lifting her hips. She was tight, but she was also wet and hot, and he had no trouble ramming all the way. His groan mingled with hers. “Fast or slow?” She gasped the words as she began to move on him. “You’re the boss.” He cupped her breasts, squeezing the nipples between his fingers. It was all she needed. Propping her hands on his shoulders, her hips gyrated against his. Each time she came down, she ground against him, rubbing her sweet spot against his groin. Her heavy breasts swung directly in front of him and he latched onto a nipple, sucking, nibbling, flicking it with his tongue and she went crazy. He kept his gaze on her face, loving the way a woman looked in the throes of passion. He enjoyed making a woman come as much as he enjoyed coming himself. Linc had never been one to passively fuck, and she seemed to be having all the fun. His hand slid down her stomach, his thumb slipping between her curls to find her clit. It was hard and swollen and the minute he touched it, she reared back, her nipple popping from his mouth. “Oh, fuck,” she whimpered, pounding him harder and harder. She jerked, moaned, then stopped. He felt her come, her lips squeezing, her cunt barely covering the tip of him. The sensations of her nipping his cock head sent him over the edge. Linc saw stars. At the exact moment he came, his cock swelling as it discharged, she slid down his length and stopped. Never in his life had a woman made him come like that. His body jerked, his cock throbbing and her cunt squeezing him for what seemed an eternity. When he could breathe again, he mentally swore. What the hell had he been thinking, fucking the woman who was technically his parole officer? He opened his eyes but stared at

the ceiling, not sure he wanted to meet her gaze. She lifted off him then expertly took care of the condom. That brought his gaze down. She gave him a satisfied smile as she trailed her finger along his now naked but still very sensitive cock. “Thank you,” she said, turning, then bending over, legs spread, to give him a spectacular view of her ass and pussy as she picked up her skirt. He watched her dispose of the condom in a tissue then she pulled her skirt on before sliding into her sandals. “Man. I can get into this community service gig.” “You weren’t on the clock.” Hell, that was fine with him. But he knew he couldn’t hang around here forever, or his job as a sports agent would suffer. While he could work online and with his cell phone, personal contact was still paramount for signing the right players to the best teams for the most money. “So what do I have to do?” he asked as he stuffed his legs into his trousers and pulled them up. She gave a shrug of her shoulders. “Most community service workers aren’t here for a thousand hours. You must have royally pissed off the judge.” “The feeling was mutual, believe me.” His answer was muffled as he pulled his shirt over his head. She gave him a quizzical look, started to say something, then very slightly shook her head. “The ladies who live here are really self-reliant.” Linc groaned, her words confirming his previous thought that the judge had a very warped sense of humour. He was literally going to have to live with a bunch of old biddies. “You can call bingo, help them with supper, work with Frank on maintenance issues and basically do whatever I need.” Linc let his gaze slide slowly up and down her length as she pulled her sweater over her head. He grew hard again just looking at her. “Whatever you need, Ms. Hart?” She smiled. “I have no idea why Judge Blackbird sent you here, but it’s going to be interesting.”

Chapter Two
Now that they were dressed, Suni opened her door and Linc followed her back into the large open area, which now held several tables. Old ladies sat here and there eating lunch. “This is Hummingbird Hall. It’s the central location where meals are served and where the ladies can visit and have guests.” Linc remembered what Flo had called her office. “The Aviary? Eagle’s Nest? Hummingbird Hall? What’s with the bird names?” He almost asked if the women were old crows, but thought better of it. “Judge Blackbird wanted a place that didn’t sound like a nursing home. And this isn’t really, at all. It’s a retirement village where the ladies are looked after so no one takes advantage of them.” “Judge Blackbird?” She gave him a sweet, rather sadistic smile. “Thus the bird names, as you put it. He built this when…well, let’s just say it does give him a guaranteed placement for his court cases, doesn’t it?” Before he could think of a retort, she continued, “Let me introduce you to the ladies.” She walked over to a table, Linc reluctantly following. “Ladies, this is Mr. Parrish. He’ll be staying with us for awhile.” “You were right, Flo. He’s hot!” One of the ladies looked him up and down. “Honey, with that hair and your blue eyes, you remind me of Paul Newman.” “Now Maggie, let’s not chase him off the very first day,” Suni gently chastised the woman. “This is Maggie McClullen, a former journalist for CBS.” “Call me Magpie, sweetie.” She held out her hand. Linc supposed she was in her sixties, her hair salt and pepper, her face tanned and lined. “And just remember. Newman’s as handsome now as he was in his prime.” Linc swore he heard her smack her lips. “Hi again, Sugar,” said Flo, who’d patted his butt when he first got there. She winked at him. They moved to the next table.

“Miss Nancy Green,” Suni said, nodding to a quiet lady with a full head of grey hair, bright blue eyes and red lipstick. “That’s not her real name,” Suni whispered to him. “She’s the wife of a former President, and for security reasons, we try to keep a low profile.” Linc thought he had recognised the First Lady, although she would have been in the White House before he was born. He also met Meribelle Forrest, a former opera singer and Señora Isabelle Santiago, a handsome Spanish woman whose background was a mystery. Then there was Jocilene “Joci” Russell, a dancer, and Mrs. Ashley Tanner-Brock-Merryweather-Rosenblat, whose four husbands, now all deceased, had been in banking. They got to the last table. “Calli, this is Linc Parrish.” To him, Suni said, “Frances Callahan, whom we lovingly call Calli, was one of our very first residents, and a special favourite of ours.” The lady turned to face them. “You!” Linc narrowed his gaze at the cause of his incarceration. She looked up at him with totally innocent, wide eyes, but he saw the devil in her smile. “You must have called someone an old bat, or did you try to rob a social security check? Nothing pisses Lucas off more than when people prey on the old folks.” She laughed, the sound grating on Linc’s nerves. “She’s the one who pulled out in front of me,” he told Suni. He watched her purse her lips. “She’s also Judge Blackbird’s mother.” He was doomed. In a stupor, Linc followed Suni as she pointed out a set of double doors to the left. “That leads to the ladies’ apartments. They vary from one bedroom to two and have their own kitchens, although the women usually eat together here.” She threw him a look. “Before you ask, it’s called Blue Bird Meadow.” She pushed through another set of double doors. “These are staff quarters. You didn’t meet Violet or Frank, but they live here full time. Violet cooks and Frank is our all around maintenance man and chauffeur. Our other staff—cleaning crew, nurses and physical therapists, activities director—comes in on a rotating basis.” She stopped before a door, taking out a key and turning the lock. “These will be your quarters.” Linc followed her into an elaborate suite. “Wow! This is almost as big as my condo.”

“As I said, this isn’t a nursing home. Everyone who lives here does so because they want to, so their apartments are like home.” At his snort, she amended her statement. “The residents and most staff can come and go as they please. You have the afternoon free to get settled. Dinner is at six.” She turned to leave. “Do you live in the staff quarters, too?” She gave him a sultry look. “I have a lock on my door, Mr. Parrish.” His smile drooped. “But a skeleton key opens all the locks in the Aviary…in case of emergency.” Linc followed her gaze to where she’d deposited his keys on the coffee table. Keys, plural, and there was only one door to his apartment.
Despite not wanting to be here, and despite the fact Judge Blackbird had his fingers in the pie, Linc was in awe. He’d just finished making a list of the Aviary residents from what he could find about them via the internet. He was an agent for athletes, but what made him good at his job was he always knew where the money was, who was looking at investing and in what sports they were interested. If a person was going to get the best players the best deals, he needed a roster and a playbook. In this case, he figured his only hope for survival was to figure out which players could be recruited to his team and which would cause him trouble. He looked at his list. The woman in charge—Suni. The man in trouble—him. The players in this case were the residents, all of whom he labelled troublemakers for the time being. He added Violet and Frank to a separate list of undetermined, having met them at dinner. Violet’s cooking was heaven and he only hoped he didn’t roll out of here in a month instead of walking. He stretched and groaned at his full stomach. Hopefully they had a gym in this cuckoo house because he was used to working out and was going to need some exercise. Well, there was sex with the boss, he thought with a grin. Sex burned up more calories than running and was a hell of a lot more fun. He always had liked dual rather than individual sports.

Determined to make the most of his time here, he returned to his list. He hadn’t found anything on the Señora, but on the whole, the ladies at the Aviary had a net worth of billions. It was no wonder Blackbird wanted to give them a sanctuary. There were any number of scam artists in the world and older women with money could be easy prey. He typed in Frances Callahan, curious to learn about the Judge’s background and why he’d started The Aviary for his mother.
Later in the week, Linc helped Frank trim dead branches from a tree out front. He took a shower then headed for the lounge with his laptop. As he pushed through the door, he found Joci and Meribelle arguing over whom got to play the piano. “Hey,” he said, “knock it off. It’s quiet time.” They raspberried him. “We can be quiet when we’re dead.” “Okay then.” He started clapping and singing “Loose, foot loose, kick off your Sunday shoes,” and Meribelle picked up the rhythm. He grabbed Joci’s hand and started a jitterbug. “Ahem.” Linc turned to find Suni, arms crossed and toe tapping. “You want the next dance?” Maggie asked her. “I want to speak to Mr. Parrish.” He quit dancing and sauntered toward her. “You’ll give them heart attacks,” she said in a low voice. “Loosen up. They’d probably rather die dancing than watching The Price is Right.” “May I see you in my office?” “Is that a question or a command? I don’t take to people telling me what to do very well.” He grinned, hoping to lighten her mood. “Now.” She spun on her heel and left. The minute he closed the door to the Eagle’s Nest, she turned on him. “I can’t do my job if you undermine me with the residents. Don’t push my buttons or I’ll…”

“You’ll what?” Her bossiness was a turn on. Her chest heaved, her green eyes shot sparks, and Linc suddenly knew she hadn’t called him into the office because he was dancing with the ladies. “What do you really want, Suni?” “You know.” If there were an Olympic sport for stripping and fucking, Linc and Suni would have a gold medal. They tore off their clothes and she sat on the edge of her desk while Linc slammed into her. She locked her legs behind his back, holding him in place while her hot pussy squeezed him dry. All too quickly it was over. “Damn! Are you ever going to let me have a little foreplay?” he asked as he dressed. “Fucking doesn’t require foreplay. I don’t either,” she said. He tilted his head and studied her. He knew for a fact, she was satisfied. Yet her voice held a longing and he thought perhaps she wanted it differently – wanted to take it slow, but was afraid. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, perhaps he should plan a little encounter with Cupid for Suni and show her what could happen when it was slow and easy. He walked back to the lounge where Maggie was trying to get into the files on his laptop. He tapped her on the shoulder. “Did we get you into trouble?” she asked, her eyes twinkling. “You writing a story?” “Just wanted to see if you got what was coming to you.” She turned to leave. “Oh, yeah, I had it coming.” Linc smiled.
There really wasn’t a lot for Linc to do at the Aviary. He had spent the morning on the phone finishing two player acquisitions for the Denver Broncos. He had calls out to several teams about a free agent he had just acquired. The man had been plagued with injuries the past year but his doctor guaranteed the player was healthy. Linc now sat at a table in the hall, the sun shining warmly on his shoulders, as he worked on his laptop. He’d been finding players and teams for others since he’d started in business ten years ago. He was ready to work for himself and start his own venture. Soccer was the up and coming sport in the United States and California was prime for a team.

He opened his acquisition plan, starting with a list of investors, all ready to write him a check. He just needed another million dollars. “What are you frowning about?” Maggie sat down across from him. “You writing a story?” Her mouth scrunched up. “That line’s getting old.” “What’s up?” Flo leaned over his shoulder. He quickly flipped to another screen. “Hey, hey. Soccer players.” She leaned closer. “Most of these guys’ contracts are up this season.” “What do you know?” Linc asked. “Everything. I love sports of all kinds. You looking to invest in a team?” “I’m trying to put one together, but I’m short on investors.” “Ha! We could invest,” Flo said. “There’s more money here than some small countries have.” Her voice grew excited. “Let’s base them here in Desert Springs so we can watch them work out. All that sweat and muscle—yummy!” “Soccer players are small and scrawny.” Maggie made a face. “Not all. Remember that one guy who always took his shirt off and ran around the field?” Flo countered. “Is that all you ladies think about?” Linc asked. Hearing them talk made him think about his parents having sex, or worse, his grandparents! “Like you told Suni. We don’t want to watch reruns of Bob Barker all day.” Joci entered the conversation. “Well, you know,” Ashley, the woman with four dead husbands, said, “Good old Bob’s gotten in trouble a time or two.” “Not on the show we get to see. Besides, he’s always with young chicks,” Joci stated. “Hell, where’s the young blood for women our age?” Linc couldn’t believe he was in the middle of this conversation. “Ladies, please. My tender ears can’t handle all this sex talk.” For just an instant, they were silent, staring at him with mouths open. Then they all chattered at once as they moved away. “Yeah right. I bet he gets laid every night when he’s on the outside.”

“I felt his butt—oh yeah!” “Wonder if he’s doing Suni. You know what Meribelle heard about her problem.” Linc dropped his head in his hands. So much for anonymous sex with the boss. Those gals might be old, but not much slipped past them.
“Psst.” Linc stopped on his way across the lounge to the kitchen. He looked around. “Psst.” Meribelle was peeking out from between the double doors that led to the Blue Bird Meadows. She’d once been an opera singer, but now she only spoke in a husky whisper. He cautiously walked toward her. Around here, you had to be leery of the quiet ones. “Why aren’t you at breakfast?” he asked. “I need your help.” She looked right and left then held the door open for him. The minute he stepped through, she hurried down the hallway. Linc hadn’t been told to stay out of the ladies’ quarters, but he hadn’t had occasion to visit them either. “My window is stuck,” she said, leading him into her apartment. “Gets stuck all the time.” Linc walked over to the window she indicated. It was just the ordinary slide up kind, and the latch was open. He grabbed hold and pulled. Nothing. He looked closer to find it had been nailed shut. “What the hell?” “She’s supposed to have it locked because she climbs out to see her boyfriend,” Suni said from the doorway. Linc frowned at Meribelle who just grinned, scooted around him and headed out the door. He followed, walking beside Suni. “Isn’t the boyfriend allowed on site?” “Of course he is. They think they’re back in their teens, sneaking around. It would be rather cute except we’re always afraid she’ll get hurt climbing out the window.”

“Okay, but they don’t really have sex at that age, do they? What can they possibly do— can he get it up? Does she get wet?” He found it hard to think about sex at their age, but on the other hand, he hoped he could still fuck when he reached seventy. Suni just gave him her sultry smile as she slowed to push through the door to Hummingbird Hall. He watched the sway of her hips. He’d always thought a woman in a miniskirt was sexy, but the very fact that Suni hid her gorgeous legs beneath longer skirts was both sexy and alluring. He looked up when she came to an abrupt stop in front of him. “Oh, shit! Fuck!” He covered his eyes, but the image of Joci in a bra and slip dancing around the table was burned into his brain. “Now, Joci, you know you’re not supposed to do that,” Suni cajoled. “Maggie, please get Violet and have her help Joci dress.” Linc felt her grab his arm. He stumbled blindly after her, refusing to remove his hand from his eyes. “That kind of language in front of the ladies won’t be tolerated.” He peeked out from between his fingers to be sure it was safe. When he saw they were in her office, he uncovered his eyes completely. “You didn’t mind my language a little while ago,” he said. “In fact, this morning you got all hot when I said I wanted to fuck you.” He stepped forward, backing her against the desk. Her pupils dilated and her breathing quickened. “What happens behind closed doors is…different. I have to maintain my position.” She didn’t stop him from rubbing his hips against hers. “And what position would that be?” He kissed the throbbing pulse at her neck as he quickly unbuttoned her blouse. She pushed her hips against his aching cock. Anything he did turned her on. Anything she said turned him on just as quickly. “What position, Suni, or do I get to choose this time?” He deliberately misunderstood. “From behind.” She pushed against him and turned, scooting items across her desk top so she could stretch out across it. Linc flipped up her skirt, not surprised when he uncovered her bare ass. “You’re not even wearing a thong.” He caressed her ass cheeks, sliding his fingers down her crack until he found her pussy, wet and hot and ready.

“We don’t always…” She gasped when he plunged two fingers into her. “…Don’t always have a lot of time.” He fumbled with his belt and trouser zipper with one hand, not wanting to move his other from the heat of her. “Oh, God, hurry!” She pushed her hips back, wiggling, and Linc about lost it. Groaning, he slid his fingers free, dropped his pants and rolled on a condom. He slammed into her. His hands slid up her spine and along her arms, covering her with his body. His hips pounded against her ass. He bit her neck. “Faster!” There was no foreplay. Hell, there usually wasn’t. But Suni was frantic so Linc gave her what she wanted. Grabbing her hips, he buried himself deep, over and over again. Her hips moved in sync with his, pushing back against him in an ever-increasing tempo. He slid one hand around and through the curls of her pussy, pressing against her clit. The other he wiggled between the desk and her breast, finding her nipple and pinching. “Yes!” she groaned. Linc was so far gone he almost didn’t hear her cry out his name when she came. He could only feel as she clutched around him. His balls tightened, drawing up and he knew he was close. Damn, he wanted to hold off and make her come again and prolong the pleasure. But Suni was as hot as her name and he slammed into her one more time, coming like he would never stop.

Chapter Three
Linc watched Suni visit with Señora Santiago and Nancy Green. Unlike the other ladies of The Aviary, those two were extremely quiet and well mannered. They never had visitors though, and he knew that was one of the reasons Suni spent so much time with them. He thought about his life. Did he want to grow old alone, with no one visiting him once he got stuck in a home? He thought of his Gramps, just a few miles away, and decided he was long overdue for a visit. He couldn’t drive, but Frank would probably drop him off on his way to town one day. “Hey, Frank.” He approached the large, black handy man. “Could I ask a favour?” “Just coming to see you, Parrish. Violet says there’s a phone call for you. You can take it in the kitchen.” “Who the hell would be calling me on this line?” he muttered when he pushed through the door. He smiled at Violet before he picked up the phone. “Hello?” “Mr. Parrish?” a woman asked. “This is Lucy from the information centre at Valley Mall. We have a Frances Callahan here who asked us to call.” What the hell was Calli calling him for? They weren’t on the best of terms, considering she got him put here. “What does she want?” “Mr. Parrish, I can’t find my way home.” Calli’s voice was odd and panicky. “What?” “Please come and get me. If Suni or Lucas find out I forgot again, they’ll take my car away.” With good reason, he thought. “I can’t drive,” he said instead. “You got my license taken away.” “Please?” Her voice was feeble, and he glanced through the glass partition to where Suni still talked with the old ladies. As much as he would like to tell Calli to forget it, he couldn’t.

Against his better judgment, he got the keys to the van from Frank and told him he had to run an errand. It was a Valentine’s surprise for Suni, he added, just so the man wouldn’t say anything. Twenty minutes later, he walked into the mall, checked at the information booth, and was pointed toward Victoria’s Secret. Go figure. “Calli, let’s go,” he said the minute he saw her. “Mr. Parrish, what are you doing here?” She looked totally surprised, and Linc knew, regardless of her wishes, that he would have to tell Suni about Calli’s memory. A lacy red teddy caught his eye and he thought how great Suni would look in it. He guesstimated the size and handed the clerk his credit card. At least the judge hadn’t taken those when he’d taken his license. As they walked to the van, he wondered if he should ask Calli not to tell Suni, or her son, the judge, that he had driven a vehicle. If he even mentioned it, would she get him into trouble or would she simply forget, like she had her address? Damn, he should have sent Frank after her. “Did you buy that for Suni?” Calli asked as he set the shopping bag between them on the front seat. “We all think she’s pretty special, but she needs a man in her life to get rid of her sexual frustrations.” All he could do was shake his head. If these women all knew about Suni’s problem, wouldn’t they also know he was fucking the hell out of her every chance he got? His head hurt thinking about it. Linc managed to get Calli back inside the Aviary with no one the wiser. He didn’t know how she would get her car returned but figured it wasn’t his problem. Even though Suni would have to be told, he’d try to find a good time to do it. Tucking the Victoria’s Secret bag under his shirt, he secreted it in his apartment before going in search of Violet. If the old biddies wanted a man for Suni, he was up to the task. But from now on, it would be on his turf and by his rules.
Linc’s time at the Aviary went faster than he would have thought. The old ladies hadn’t exactly come to love him when he wouldn’t take their money for the soccer team, but at least

they tolerated him. When he thought about it, they actually seemed to enjoy getting him into trouble with the boss, but Suni’s discipline was something he looked forward to. He now walked across Hummingbird Hall toward the lounge where most of them were huddled around the TV. They weren’t watching the program, they were gossiping, as usual. As he got closer, the talking hushed and they looked up guiltily. They were plotting, which had become the norm when he was around. “Ladies, what’s up?” “You haven’t been at all exciting, Mr. Parrish,” Ashley complained. “You won’t let us invest in your soccer team, and you don’t do a grand job at calling bingo.” “I explained why I couldn’t take your money,” Linc said with exaggerated patience. “But once the team is organised, you’re more than welcome to visit practices. I’d say most of the players practice without their shirts.” There was a collective sigh. “I suppose that will have to do,” Maggie said. It was hard to believe, but in the month Linc had been here, he’d come to care for the old ladies and felt sorry for their loneliness. “Look, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Why not have a dance?” “I quit dancing with girls in grade school,” Calli said. “Meribelle, where does your honey live?” The ladies giggled at his word choice. “Over at Driftwood.” “Well, there you go,” Linc said. “My grandpa’s there, too. I’m sure we can talk some of those gentlemen into coming to a party.” “How about inviting some of your friends?” Flo sidled up next to him. “Then we could dance with some real hotties.” “Inviting who to what?” Suni asked, coming over to where Linc was writing a list. “The ladies want to have a Valentine’s Day dance.” Her face lit up. “What a wonderful idea.” She glanced at her watch. “I have a board meeting. Can I rely on you to oversee this? Make a list and Frank will see to getting everything. Next week, I’ll take the ladies in the van to shop for dresses.” “I’ll take them,” Linc argued. “I know what a man likes.”

“Are you gay?” Flo asked. “We’d be very disappointed if you were.” “I’m definitely a man and I know what I like—whether it’s a steak dinner, a good bottle of wine or a beautiful woman.” He winked at Suni, who blushed profusely before turning to leave.
It was Saturday and Linc’s night off. Even slaves on community service got a night off every once in a while. He had asked for Saturday when he found out Suni usually took that night off. He’d left her a note on the box with the red teddy when he’d placed it on her desk. Now, he hoped she would show up. Violet had even helped supply him with all Suni’s favourites—a good Merlot, a couple of great steaks, and chocolate chip ice cream for dessert. He had just set the table and lit a candle when there was a tentative knock on the door. He opened it to find Suni turning away. “This isn’t a good idea,” she said when he caught her wrist. She tugged against him. “Why? Because it’s my place and we have all night, rather than a quickie on your desk?” She narrowed her eyes at him. “I told you it was just fuck—” “Stay, please.” He didn’t tug her arm, didn’t try to kiss her. While she hesitated, he let his gaze roam over her. Over the past weeks, he had come to see her compassion, her sunny disposition, her smiles, and knew he wanted more from her than just sex. He wanted to find the real Suni Hart. Then he noticed it. Peeking out from the open neck of her blouse was just a hint of red lace. He squeezed ever so slightly on her wrist. He knew she wanted his body. But the fact she’d accepted his gift and had come for dinner had to mean she was ready to take their relationship to a new level. “I have wine.” He wasn’t above bribing her. “Are you supposed to be drinking?” “As long as I don’t drive.” He smiled at her. “And believe me, a glass of wine won’t affect my functioning in any other area.” She smiled then. “Maybe just a glass.”

She stepped into the apartment and he quickly shut the door behind her. She turned into him, looping her arms around his neck. She kissed him deeply, with lots of sliding body language until Linc almost forgot his plan. He gently untangled her arms. “You don’t want me?” She frowned at him. “Baby, you know better than that. Just look.” As usual when he was around her, his cock was trying to get out of his pants. She reached for him and he stepped back. “Tonight, you’re on my turf so we get to do it my way.” “I don’t have to stay, you know.” He gave her his sexiest smile. “I know, but in addition to wine, I have steak and ice cream.” “What kind?” “Chocolate chip.” She kicked off her heels and he knew she was hooked. “Why don’t we do it now and again after supper?” He kissed her nose. “Believe me, I’ll make it worth the wait.” During supper, they actually talked. Linc told her about being a sports agent and trying to put together a syndicate for a new soccer team. He didn’t mention the old ladies wanting to invest. He found out Suni had gone to UCLA and graduated cum laude. She liked opera and mystery novels, and was a Perry Mason addict. “What about this other addiction of yours?” he asked as he cleared the table. She shrugged. “I don’t consider it an addiction. It’s not illegal and it doesn’t destroy my body like drugs or smoking. I tend to think of it like extreme sports or auto racing— something like that. I enjoy the adrenaline highs.” “Along with the incredible orgasms,” Linc added. She grinned. “Of course.” He took her hand and drew her to the couch, clicking on the small CD player along the way. Soft, mellow jazz surrounded them as they sat side by side.

When Suni’s hand slid up his leg, he covered it with his. “Tonight you’re under my spell,” he whispered as he kissed her ear before nibbling on her lobe. “I’m going to show you how to make love.” “Like I don’t already know that?” “We’ve been fucking and having sex, not making love. There’s a big difference.” He proceeded to show her just what that difference was, taking his time to thoroughly kiss her, slowly undoing one button at a time to reveal the red teddy. Then, he kissed the swell of her breasts before he slid a finger beneath the shoulder strap and pulled it down her arm to reveal a luscious breast. He bent to kiss her areola, circling it with his wet tongue but not touching her nipple. “I need more.” Her husky whisper hung in the air. “What do you feel?” She hesitated. “Anticipation, hunger. My stomach is in knots and I’m dripping wet.” He nipped her nipple and she squealed. “By the time we actually make love, you are going to climax like there’s no tomorrow.” He sucked her nipple into his mouth. It tasted as sweet as he knew it would. As he tugged, it elongated and hardened. From there, he kissed his way down her stomach, his hot breath filtering through the lace. Sliding off the couch, he knelt in front of her, his tongue licking a wet path up her thigh to where he could smell the scent of woman. The teddy had snap closures at the crotch and when he opened them, she eagerly spread her legs. He took his time, starting again at her knees with hot, nipping kisses. She had dabbed perfume behind her knees and the smell intoxicated him. As she writhed on the couch, he continued his seduction, finally reaching her wet pussy. Using his thumbs to part her curls, he lovingly licked her clit then sucked it gently. He slid two fingers into her wet heat and stroked her as he continued to lave her with his tongue. His cock was hard and straining at his trousers, but he was determined to take it slow. He hadn’t counted on her sensitivity. Before he could stop, she climaxed, her channel squeezing around his fingers in undulating currents. He lapped at her, taking everything she had to give. When she finally collapsed against the couch, he stood, scooping her in his arms and carrying her to the bedroom. He laid her on the bed, then slowly finished undressing her.

Her gaze was still passion laden and she watched as he slowly stripped for her. It was something new for Linc, and he found it a real turn on. As he unbuttoned his trousers and slid the zipper down, she licked her lips, her gaze never leaving his crotch. He felt himself swell under her perusal. “You have a beautiful body,” she said. Linc smiled as he moved back to the bed. To show her what he thought of her, he worshiped her body, starting at her toes, kissing each digit and caressing her calves as he worked his way upward. “God, Linc. I need you now.” “Honey, I took the edge off. Now I’m going to make you build again.” He kissed every inch of skin, then flipped her onto her stomach and kissed her backside. She wiggled and squirmed, cursing him and begging until he finally relented. Rolling on a condom, he lifted her hips and took her from behind, sliding deep with one thrust. He covered her completely with his body, his chest rubbing against her back. He cupped her breast with one hand and her cunt with the other. He thrust in and out, slow then fast, varying his speed until his senses sharpened intensely. Their breaths were nothing more than gasps. “Are you ready?” he whispered, pinching her nipple. She groaned. “I’ve been ready since I walked in tonight.” He quickly pulled out of her. “No!” “Shh, baby. I want to see you come.” He turned her over, sliding back in with hardly a break in rhythm. Her hands immediately found his nipples, pinching them to the point of intense pleasure. “Hook your legs over my shoulders.” When she did, he penetrated deeper, touching her womb and she screamed as she climaxed. Linc was seconds behind her, and though he tried to hold back he couldn’t. Sensations flared, spiralling out from his cock and balls, down his legs and up his spine until he was one entire mass of nerve endings.

Chapter Four
As Suni’s contractions slowed, he lowered her legs flat to the bed, slid his body along hers and with just a little pressure as he pushed deep, she climaxed again. Once their emotions calmed, Linc left the bed, got their unfinished bottle of wine and glasses and crawled back in beside her. He leaned against the headboard and tucked her close to his side, caressing her shoulder. She swirled a finger around his nipple and down his stomach before he caught her hand and placed a glass of wine in it. “I need to speak to you about Calli,” he said. She frowned. “I thought we were separate from work. Don’t ruin the evening.” “This is about us. I don’t want to lie to you.” He then told her about Calli’s call and going to get her at the mall. “You drove. You know that’s against your probation. I have to report you. Please don’t tell me that’s why you seduced me—so I wouldn’t tell.” Linc heard the hurt in her voice. “Of course not.” He kissed her neck and up to her ear as he caressed her breast and tugged her on top of him. “And you don’t have to report me. Just chalk it up to poor judgment and remember at least I wasn’t drinking this time.” He kissed her until she softened against him. He couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t report him, but all that mattered was the continued honesty between them that marked the core of their relationship. “Come on.” He set his wine aside and took her hand, leading her to the bathroom. While he ran bath water, he stood behind her, looking in the mirror and watching her face as he caressed her breasts, down her flat stomach and across her hips. She tilted her head back onto his shoulder. “How tall are you anyway?” He kissed her shoulder. “Five-ten,” she murmured. He chuckled. “You liar. You’re over six feet.” She sighed. “When we’re horizontal, those inches don’t matter, do they?”

“Of course not. I have inches where it counts most.” She turned and circled his cock with her warm hand. He immediately surged against her touch. “You certainly do.” He helped her into the tub and climbed in behind her. He settled back, thinking a relaxing bath would help them sleep, but Suni soon showed him sexual exhaustion was a better sleep aid.
Linc followed the ladies into the hall, absently listening to their chatter. This time, Frank had driven and the shopping expedition had been highly successful. All the ladies returned with smiles and a little colour in their cheeks. He had even talked Miss Green and Señora Santiago into going with them. Their smiles when he complimented them on the dresses they chose had been a reward of its own. He glanced across the space to find Suni. Ever since the night of his seduction, she’d seemed different—less edgy, more relaxed. The down side was she hadn’t hauled him into her office for a quickie. They had arranged to meet later tonight at her place. He sort of missed the balls-to-the-wall fucking sessions, yet the slow, seductive lovemaking he’d experienced in her arms that one night bore repeating. In a way, he felt he was somehow helping Suni with her sex addiction. Abstinence had elevated their encounters. He then noticed the tall, thin man at her side. When the ladies’ chatter drew their attention and they turned, the man’s gaze locked with his. Linc swallowed. So she had called the corrections officials on him after all. Well, it was his own fault, he thought, as he walked their way. “Linc, this is Pauley George.” “Oh, say, Suni, he is adorable,” the man gushed, waving his hand airily. Linc scowled, looking to Suni for direction. “Mmmm, mmm.” Pauley pranced around him and Linc strained his neck to keep him in view. “Hey, knock it off!” He spun around when the man, so obviously gay, patted his ass. “Are you sure he’s taken?” Pauley whined.

Suni laughed. “He’s a man through and through,” Flo stated, coming to Linc’s rescue. “Obviously you’re a man’s man.” “Oh, my, are they all like her? She’s just so adorably wrinkled and short.” “Hey!” Flo puffed up like a chicken with ruffled feathers. “Don’t offend the ladies,” Linc stated. “Suni, who the hell is this Tinkerbell?” “He’s a friend and he owns a catering business. I thought—” She was interrupted when Pauley pranced off to where the ladies stood. “You’ve been shopping!” Pauley exclaimed. “Let me just see what you have. I’m so excited about this party!” Linc turned back to Suni. “Hanging around gay guys? Is this how you keep your attitude under control?” he whispered while Pauley madly exclaimed over the women’s dresses. She smiled. “I’d say you’ve done an admirable job of attitude adjustment.” “You mean mine?” He looked over at the women who, he had to admit, he had begun to like. “Yours and mine,” Suni answered, squeezing his ass. He had been opening a bag of Valentine candy, and the chocolate kisses flew everywhere as he jerked the sack wide. “Are you sure?” He saw her gaze caressing him. “Only to the point I’m willing to wait for it,” she replied. “But not too long.” With one more pat on the ass, she moved by him. “Seven o’clock, my place.” She moved toward the ladies, her hips swaying provocatively. He began to think he was the one with the sex attitude because he groaned when he looked at his watch and saw he had more than three hours until he could get her alone.
Linc called Harvey the next morning to bring him some clothes for the party. “Your time’s up, Linc. I figure you’ve put in a little more than a thousand hours.” “In that case, bring my license and have your secretary follow you out with my car.”

“Did you hear me? You can leave.” “Not yet, Harvey. I’ve got business to finish. Make it the black Armani, black silk shirt and white tie. And my Gucci’s.” He hung up and looked around the apartment. He could leave, so why wasn’t he racing for the door? As he walked down the corridor and into Hummingbird Hall, he knew why. It wasn’t just Suni, although she was the primary reason. The women were busy decorating under Pauley’s direction, all chattering gaily. He had a new respect for the older generation. These women, entrepreneurs in their time, deserved some happiness in their golden years. The least he could do was follow through with the Valentine’s party. “Oh, Christ,” he muttered as he watched Joci grab the bottom of her blouse and start to pull it over her head. He hurried toward her, flipping the radio off as he went. The candy he’d set out yesterday was gone. He didn’t know if she was on a sugar high, or if any music made her want to strip, but Joci was always taking her clothes off. He got to her just in time and tugged her blouse down. “Joci, you gotta quit that. Regardless of your background, today’s man wants to be tantalised. They like secrets and allure—not quite knowing what’s hidden under a lady’s clothes.” He glanced over to where Suni had just walked in. “Like Suni. Swirling skirts around the ankles or calves are more enticing than a miniskirt. Suni always dresses in longer skirts and tops, or suits, and yet she’s sexy as hell.” Pauley came over to where the ladies had gathered, all avidly listening. “I so agree with Mr. Parrish. A man wants mystery. You don’t see me prancing around here bare-assed naked, flaunting my considerable attributes, do you?” “There are no gay men here to impress,” Joci said. “Ah well, more’s the pity,” Pauley said with a sigh. “Still, there’s something to be said for allure.” “But everybody knows basic anatomy and there’s not much difference between the lot of us except the size of our boobs. So what’s the big deal?” Maggie asked. “If nothing in this world was a big deal, we’d never do anymore, go anywhere, want anything beyond the first time,” Linc answered. “It would all be been there, done that.” “So it’s like being married,” Ashley said. “You keep doing it until you find one that works.”

He leaned over her chair. “You keep doing it, Mrs. Tanner-Brock-MerryweatherRosenblat, because it feels way too good not to.”
Linc checked his appearance in the mirror. His light brown hair could have used a cut. He splashed on cologne, glad he at least had his electric razor. His jaw was extra smooth. He grinned, thinking of how he wouldn’t give Suni’s thighs razor burn. He fiddled with the corsage he’d had Harvey bring when he delivered his clothes. Would Suni like it? Was this an actual date? What would happen when they weren’t together twenty-four seven? Knowing there wasn’t much he could do tonight, he left his room, turning down the hall to Suni’s. She opened the door at his knock, shocking him with her stunning beauty. She had swept her hair up in a careless twist that exposed her slender neck. Her silver gown clung to her curves but when she stepped forward, her bare leg peeked out from a slit that went up the side to her hip. Once Linc got over his awe, he kissed her lightly on the cheek. “Is that all I get?” she pouted. “For now.” He handed her the corsage and escorted her down the hall and out through the doors to where the DJ was playing some Glen Miller. He saw his Grandpa and his cronies already visiting with the ladies and knew it wouldn’t be long before every one was dancing the night away. Suni tugged him toward a tall gentleman who had his back to them talking to Calli. It wasn’t until they got closer that Linc realised it was Judge Blackbird. Great, just what he needed. He tried to pull Suni onto the dance floor but the Judge turned just then, his face lighting up as he spied them. Linc watched in stunned silence as he enveloped Suni in a bear hug before turning to him. “My niece tells me you’ve helped her with her problem,” he said. “I appreciate the way you took to your community service and helped her, too.” “Niece?” he frowned at her. Then he realised what else the judge had said. “Excuse me?” He looked at Suni. Surely she hadn’t told him about their sex marathons.

“Insomnia can be a hazard to your work,” the judge continued, his eyes twinkling. “Suni says you have some great relaxation techniques.” She grinned at his discomfort. He tugged her hand, pulling her out onto the dance floor. “He’s your uncle? Christ, you could have warned me.” “I thought you made the connection when I told you my uncle asked me to run the Aviary.” “I think at the time I was trying to figure out how to get into your panties.” He swirled her around the floor. “Well, you’ll be happy to know I’m not wearing any tonight.” Linc’s steps faltered. “You are such a tease. You know damned good and well I can’t do anything about it right now.” “You always say anticipation is part of the allure. So I just wanted to give you something to anticipate.” At that moment, her uncle tapped his shoulder to interrupt their dance, and Linc went over to where his grandpa stood. They shook hands. “Sorry I haven’t been by but glad you and the guys could make it tonight.” “Wouldn’t miss it for the world. Georgie Boy kept telling us there were some real honeys over here when he visited Meribelle. Guess I’ll have to find a window to crack.” “Meribelle knows better than that now. You just plan on coming in the front door so we don’t have to worry about broken bones.” Gramps introduced him to Meribelle’s sweetheart, “Georgie Boy” Anderson, who had made his fortune in the stock market. Then there was Tommy Racuzi, who Gramps said was a Mafia hit man, and Sammy Davis, named after the famous singer even though he was white. All the men were in the same position as the ladies of the Aviary. Most had money to burn but no family to speak of, and so they resided at Driftwood. Linc thought about asking Suni to speak to her uncle about adding a wing for the gentlemen. At least that way they wouldn’t have to worry about nailing the windows shut. “Come on, kiddo. I get at least one dance.” Linc turned to see Calli, elegant in a long, black dress. He thought she was talking to his Grandpa until she tugged his hand and led him out onto the dance floor.

“This was planned, you know,” Calli said. “The party?” “No. You and Suni.” Linc narrowed his gaze. “What do you mean?” “My son, her uncle, and I know about her…propensity to be a little wild. We didn’t want her to go the way I did.” “Which was?” She smiled. “I made B movies in my prime.” That stopped him. Judge Blackbird’s mother was a porn star? “Don’t look so shocked.” She tugged his arm to get him dancing again. “Nothing really happened back then. It was all illusion.” “Getting back to Suni…” “We wanted her to find a nice young man.” “You ran into me on purpose?” Linc couldn’t believe it. “No, it was purely accidental but fortuitous. Lucas checked you out before your court date and we decided if you spent time with Suni, you’d hit it off.” “Did you ever stop to think she might not like me?” Calli patted his ass. “That was never a thought, dearie. Not with your looks.” “There’s more to life than sex, Callie.” “Hell, I know that. Been all over the world seeing life. But there’s nothing better than having a good man to come home to.” Linc laughed outright, spinning the wizened interloper in a circle as the dance ended. He kissed her cheek before going in search of Suni. “I want to show you something.” He held the door to the front open and they slipped through, the quiet of the night enveloping them. He led her to where his Porsche sat, glimmering in the moonlight. “Let’s take a ride.” “You’re done, aren’t you? Uncle Lucas told me you were free to go.” “Get in.” He closed the door behind her and hurried around to the driver’s side. As he started the engine, he said, “I may be done with community service, but I’m not sure I’m either free or want to go.”

“Oh,” she said then lapsed into silence. He drove to the edge of town, took a side road and then curved up the side of the mountain. He finally turned, pulling off the side of the road so the car faced back to the east. Flipping the armrest up, he tugged her closer to his side. “Where do we go from here, Suni?” he asked. She laid her head on his shoulder, and he turned and kissed her forehead. “How about a little teenage sex in the back seat?” He slid his hand beneath the edge of her dress, cupping her breast. Her nipple pebbled beneath his touch and he could feel his cock swell even though she didn’t touch him. She turned to kiss his cheek. “Believe it or not, I don’t think I want that.” “No?” She smiled at his astonished look. “Well, at least not right now.
