and 18^^ Wisconsin Civil War Regiments
were engaged at the Battle of Shiloh, Tennessee.
Included are the list of casualities for these
Regiments The
14^^^^
Regiment was organized at FondduLac,
Wisconsin in January, 1862. The regiment left Fonddulac on March Wood.
After
a

1862 under Colonel David
brief stay in Savannah, Tennessee
they were engaged in The Battle of Shiloh.
16 were
KIA and another 13 died of wounds. The 16^^ Regiment was ordered to Camp Randall,
Wisconsin in 11-1861.
Benjamin Allen was the Colonel
and the regiment was mustered in on 1-31-1862.
They
took a train from Camp Randall to St. Louis, Missouri and arrived in Savannah, Tennesse on 3-20-1862.
They
engaged in the battle of Shiloh were they fought on the front lines.
43 were
KIA and 39 died of wounds.
The 18^^ Regim.ent was organized in Milwaukee in the
winter of 1851-1862.
They reported to St. Louis,
Missouri On 3-30-1862. Tennessee on April
5,
They reached Savannah, 1862.
The regiment was
not prepared for battle and were surrounded by the confederate soldiers. of their field officers.
They had all lost all In this bloody battle
the regiment lost 24 soldiers who were either
KIA or died of wounds. The above number of casualities does not include
those who were taken prisoner and died in the
Southern prisons of disease of wounds.
