And one that isn't for him. Brice Delco expected a weekend away with his best friend, Winter Chase. Instead he was led to a hidden playhouse containing a male escort, bound and ready to please. Then he finds out that Winter hired him so that Brice could have a great first experience with a guy, since he's been drooling over them for years. Chapter One “I move in a week, and you ask this of me now?” Dakota stared in disbelief at his employer and friend. Master Diggs leaned back in the large chair behind his desk. He brought his fingertips together, creating a pyramid in front of his chest. His expression was blank, but his hazel eyes appeared to glimmer with amusement. When Master Diggs didn't wear his outrageous designer contacts, it was usually easy to gauge what might be going on in his mind. However, Dakota knew that the black Goth clothing, shockingly bright blue-dyed hair, and colored contacts were worn like a shield, purposely fitted to hide the fact that Master Diggs was actually a compassionate man. “You've only one appointment this week, pet. What's one last weekend appointment as a favor before you leave me for good?” Master Diggs's eyebrow shot up, but his expression remained neutral. Dakota sighed and looked down at his clasped hands. He long ago stopped cringing at the nickname Master Diggs called him. It took some time, but he realized it was a sincere endearment. The man had been a trusted friend and had treated him like a son, though many outsiders would view their relationship as odd. A variety of emotions floated through Dakota, but he mostly felt tired. It had been six months since that weekend he'd spent with his friends Nate and Kyle. The couple had shown him that love and devotion still lived in the world. It had given him hope that perhaps one day he too would find someone who would look at him the way they looked at each other. But then the reality of his life rudely intruded on his fantasy world, backing up his belief that the way he

lived only squelched any minuscule amount of hope that someone could love him like that. That's when he knew his days of being an overpriced whore were done. The “what about me?” gremlin inside was screaming quite loudly these days. Retirement to blessed solitude in his cabin in the mountains looked better and better with each passing day. “You know I don't want to play these Dom/sub games anymore, MD. I'm through bowing to others' needs. It's past time I think about what's best for me.” He wanted to get up and pace, but he suppressed the urge and sat still. “You're my best player.” Master Diggs let out a long sigh as he leaned forward on the desk, his fingers entwined. “I'm sorry to lose you. Do you realize how many phone calls I've received this month since you decided to retire? Many of your regulars aren't too happy, and they're already looking for someone identical to you. You're a hard man to replace.” Dakota shrugged, hoping it came across as casual and indifferent. He'd been with several of his regular clients for many years. Some he'd miss. But not the games they enjoyed playing. “You'll be well compensated, Dakota.” Now it was Dakota's turn to lean forward in his chair. “I don't care about the money, MD. You know I'm financially secure.” “Fine.” Master Diggs flicked a hand as if to swat a fly. An emotion flashed in his eyes that Dakota had never seen before, but before he could discern what it was, it was gone. “I'm calling in my favor.” “What?” Dakota's heart skipped a beat. “You heard me. I'm calling in my favor. Right now.” Dakota's mouth went dry. “But that was…” His speech failed, and a speck of panic lodged in his throat. The day Master Diggs took Dakota under his wing, they'd struck a deal: MD would provide clients and safe guidelines for Dakota, and in exchange, Dakota would fulfill one favor. It could be anything,

and at any time. At the time it had seemed very reasonable. Now, the deal was more like a thorn in his side and felt a little like blackmail. “What?” MD's expression changed to one of feigned innocence. “Just because it's been seventeen years, you think the bargain can be voided?” Dakota shook his head. “I just figured—” “What did I tell you about thinking, pet?” Master Diggs's lips curved into a smile, and Dakota noticed that it actually reached his eyes. Dakota growled, knowing he had no way out without his word turning to shit. His word was the one thing that he'd always kept intact, no matter what went wrong in his life. “Fine, my services are at your disposal for this weekend, and then we're even. However, I still go by my usual list of rules.” If MD had taught him anything, it was to have a set of dos and don'ts. “I'm glad we agree, pet.”
***** Brice stared at the invitation in his hand. “She's so weird,” he mumbled as he tacked it up onto his corkboard. His best friend, Winter, had sent the invitation by way of a male stripper who'd made him drool like a rabid dog and wish he had the balls to make a pass at the man. So now, on top of some confusion, he had a raging hard-on. The invitation itself was odd. It was homemade, full of drawn hearts and girlie colors. That wasn't unusual for Winter, but it was the small pictures of whips and sex toys pasted on the card, clashing with its design, that baffled him. Brice adjusted his dick in his shorts and thought about jacking off, when a knock sounded on the door only a moment before it opened. Winter breezed into the small studio apartment, the door slamming behind her.

“Hey, love. How's my BFF? Did you get my invite? Oh, wait, I should ask if you liked my invite.” Her lips curved into a mischievous smile. “He was a hottie, huh?” Brice shook his head and couldn't stop from returning a smile. “You're a bad girl. Creative but bad.” Winter shimmied up to him, pressed against his side, and purred, “You have no idea how bad I can be.” Brice's dick jumped and swelled thicker as a groan rumbled from his throat. Damn if he wasn't horny as hell. “I have a good idea.” Her lips lightly brushed over his, mint and vanilla penetrating his sense of smell. “We're BFFs with benefits, but I haven't even begun to show you all I can do.” A shiver racked Brice's body. Her low, seductive tone aroused the heat of desire to near-burning. No matter how well he thought he knew Winter, he suspected she had her secrets. Didn't everyone? Winter stepped away and fell to her knees in front of him. “What are you doing?” Brice asked but didn't move away. “Convincing you to accept my invitation.” Her hands were at the waistband of his shorts and already pulling them down. Brice didn't protest as he watched her tongue flick out and wet her lips. He opened his mouth to tell her that he had no intention of turning her down, when her hot, wet mouth engulfed his stiff cock. A gasp of pleasure emerged instead. Hell, the woman had a tongue that could create the most delicious sensations. Brice let his hands fall to her head, threading through her soft, light brown strands streaked with bright red, blonde, and blue. She looked up at him and her eyes, the color of chocolate, locked with his. Closing his eyes, his head falling back, he allowed her to work her convincing charms on him.

Chapter Two Dakota detested what he was about to do. He'd come to hate the equipment that lay before him. Stomach churning, he let out a long breath and picked up the bit gag. He didn't want to be here, had actually hoped to finish packing up his apartment so he could head out to his cabin by Monday, finally leaving this part of his life behind. In fact, Dakota had begun to resent the BDSM games most of his clientele played. He hadn't really noticed how much contempt he had for them until this past Christmas. He'd spent an intriguing and eye-opening weekend with his friend Nate Jacobs, and Nate's lover, Kyle Turner. Since then, the more he'd tried to ignore the intrusions of his true feelings, the more irritated and unwilling he'd become. He truly believed that his time playing escort was over. Dakota craved a partner whom he could build a true relationship with, but first he needed to get his life back. Only then could he think of what his future might hold. This is the last time, Dakota. Just do this and get the hell out of Dodge. Pep talk over, he attached the bit gag to his head, and began to put the other gear on as the directions on the table instructed.
“Why are we in the warehouse district, Winnie? I thought you said we were going away for the weekend.” Brice's brows drew together in confusion. His best friend had been very secretive all week about what she had planned for them. She only told him to pack his toiletries because they wouldn't be

staying at either of their apartments. He trusted her, but he wasn't sure about her demanding that he didn't bring any clothes other than what he was wearing. Even that she'd dictated. She promised she'd taken care of everything he'd need. Winter shrugged. “This is away.” Her smile shone with naughtiness. She parked the car next to a warehouse smaller than the others. The place appeared deserted except for a dark-colored SUV parked nearby. “I call this my playhouse. Come on. I think you'll have a fun weekend.” Brice sat in the car for a minute and stared at the woman he considered his best friend. He'd never dreamed that her secrets went as far as this. A playhouse? When did she come here? Why hadn't she mentioned this place before? This was obviously a big part of who she was; why keep it from him? Winter rounded the front of the car and opened the passenger door. “Quit pouting, lovebug.” “I'm not pouting. Just…confused. You never told me about this place.” Her shoulders dropped as she sighed. “A girl always carries secrets. But I'm sharing with you now. Are you coming, or am I going to just drive you back home?” Brice was excited about spending time with Winter on some mysterious weekend adventure. He needed the break. It seemed all he did lately was work, work, and work some more. Not wanting to ruin the plans his friend had obviously carefully made for them—and not to mention his curiosity about this playhouse—Brice grabbed his small bag and got out of the car. He was rewarded with a bright smile from Winter. “Good.” She took his hand and led him to the metal door. She unlocked the door, and after they walked in, she reengaged the lock. Brice stared in shock. This wasn't what he'd imagined when she'd said playhouse. He didn't expect to find a real one built in the middle of the empty warehouse. Only this wasn't quite the kind you bought for a little girl. It was

actually another square building, standing about nine feet high, and he couldn't tell how big it was inside without walking around the entire structure. It had a wooden door, but no windows. “This is…interesting.” “Wait until you see the inside. I had it made so that it's soundproof.” Her eyebrows wiggled. Brice could only guess at the naughty thoughts going on in her head. Before he could ask her why, she pushed him toward the door. This one was unlocked. Trusting Winter, he entered her playhouse. The place was set up like a studio apartment, but it was larger than his humble abode. As he took in his surroundings, he realized why she called this her playhouse. The kitchen was simple yet spacious, and a nearby door opened to a bathroom. The rest of the room held a variety of furniture and equipment. Some of the small pieces of furniture were bondage gear that Brice had seen in catalogs and on the Net. The largest piece of furniture was the four-poster bed, covered in red silk sheets. The place was a mixture of a dungeon and a sensually designed bedroom. “Cozy,” Brice murmured. Then his gaze caught something he hadn't expected. Winter grabbed his arm and dragged him over to the far side of the bed. “Meet Dakota Knight, our weekend entertainment.”
Dakota shifted slightly. It had been a bitch and a half to bind himself, and he wasn't very comfortable. He had lost track of how long he'd been kneeling, waiting for his clients. His ankles were strapped to a spreader bar. His wrists were behind his back, pulled together by handcuffs, and attached to the middle of the spreader bar by a short chain. It made his back arch sharply and kept him in place. At least he'd had the bit gag for his jaw to clench on. Now that his clients had arrived, Dakota hoped they would just get on with the games. That was until he heard the female's voice. It sounded familiar.

Surely it couldn't be… Then she walked into his sight. His body tensed, and he silently cursed MD. Winter. Little Winter Ashley Chase. Master Diggs's daughter. Dakota stared in disbelief as his employer's only daughter stood in front of him with some guy on her arm. If his mouth had been free, it would've hung open a moment before giving her his big-brother lecture and then asking what in hell she thought she was doing. How could Master Diggs do this? Did he know Dakota's weekend client was his daughter? Of course MD knew, or he wouldn't have insisted that Dakota take this last job. The man never did anything without a reason. Dakota wished he knew exactly what MD was trying to accomplish with this little stunt. Suddenly Dakota wasn't sure he could fulfill his end of the deal. He'd known Winter since she was a small child. Watched her grow into a beautiful woman. How could her own father expect him to play these sex games with her? Most fathers would have a shit-fit at just the thought of their precious daughters thinking about sex. Dakota had never heard of a father actually setting up a weekend playdate for his daughter. But then, no daughter had a father like MD. The guy with Winter pulled her aside and started to whisper animatedly. Dakota caught a few words here and there, and it didn't sound like he was all too happy with Winter either. Though the kid was definitely eye candy, he was just that—a kid. Dakota could only hope that the objection he was voicing would make Winter call off whatever she had planned, and he could be on his merry way. Hope sparked bright as the guy's arms flared out and his voice rose slightly. He stopped and glanced over his shoulder before turning his attention back to Winter. Dakota didn't want to know why the guy was protesting; he only knew that it would be good for them all if this appointment was canceled. Taking advantage of the time Winter and her friend spent talking, Dakota studied the young man. He stood several inches taller than Winter but was still

shorter than Dakota. He wore a tight-fitting red T-shirt that defined his toned muscles, making them visible with his every move. His jeans were worn, faded, and fit his ass like a second skin. An ass that looked good enough to bite. Shaking the erotic thought away, Dakota continued his observation. The man was perhaps of Mediterranean descent, his skin a light olive tone. His short hair was the color of hot cocoa. An odd hue, but it fit the look. Now, if only he could remember the man's eye color to complete the picture stamping itself into his mind. A very delectable image at that. Dakota's gaze met Winter's, and his hope was doused when she looked back at her companion, her lips lowered into a pout, speaking quietly. He knew that look and the tone of voice she must have been using. Many wars had been started by such charming maneuvers, which only the female species seemed able to perfect. The man's shoulders slumped, and Dakota knew that the argument was over. The young man was defeated. His suspicions were confirmed by her companion's nod and another glance behind him. Winter smiled like a little girl seeing a basketful of candy on Easter. Goodies to gobble. That didn't bode well for Dakota. “Go on now and get cleaned up, and I'll get things ready out here.” She rose to her tiptoes and gave the man a kiss. It turned out to be more than a peck when his arms wrapped tightly around her and nearly lifted her from the ground to create a deeper, full-tongue kiss. Dakota admitted the sight was fascinating, but he didn't usually get off on a young couple making out. “You won't regret this,” Winter said with a wicked smile and slapped the man on the ass as he walked to the bathroom. Once the door was shut, she rushed over and knelt in front of Dakota, surprising him by taking off the gag. “I'm not fucking you, Winter.”

She rolled her eyes. “Well, hello to you too. And don't worry, your totem pole isn't in danger of my man-eating pussy.” She gave him a wink. Dakota growled. “Then what the hell is going on?” “Simple, really. I hired you to spend the weekend with me and Brice.” “Not going to happen. I already said I'm not fucking you. So get the key and release me.” Winter's expression didn't soften or show hurt. In fact, her glee appeared to have increased. “Nope. At least, not yet. Your fee has been paid, and I believe Daddy mentioned something about an obligation that you're fulfilling by doing this.” He muttered several curses and instinctively pulled at his restraints. “Okay, so I get you aren't thrilled about this.” Her hands lay lightly on his thighs. “You don't have to have such a potty mouth.” Her smile faded and the pout was starting to make another appearance. “Let me explain.” “Listening.” He forced his body to relax. Fighting wouldn't help. Maybe if he knew her plans, he could talk her out of them. “Brice is my best friend.” Dakota's brow arched in response to her statement. Only a friend? With a kiss like that? Not. “All right, he's my BFF with benefits. Lots of them. Anyway, he's never been with a man.” “There are a lot of men who've never been with another man. You can't force that on him, Winter.” “No, it's not like that. He's attracted to men. You should see the hard-ons he gets when we watch sports. Especially those macho ones where the players slap each others' asses.” The right corner of her lips lifted to a quick smirk. “He's into me and guys.” “And this concerns me how?” Dakota asked, sarcasm dripping from his words.

“I've tried everything I can think of to help him, but Brice is too shy to pick up a guy. He's also a bit scared because of his lack of experience. So I thought you would be the perfect choice for his first time.” “I'm not going to take his virginity. Not really my thang.” He tried to use the lingo she'd understand and to lessen the sarcasm. At this moment, he'd speak Chinese to get out of this. “I wasn't thinking that. At least, not unless he begs you to.” She winked, and Dakota almost smiled and gave in. She was very much like her father. A manipulator and charmer in all ways. “So you want me to stick my ass in the air and act like I enjoy it while he fucks me?” “Of course not. You say it so crudely. But that's going to be a grand fantasy for a while. Just imagine…you all tied up and helpless, ass in the air, whimpering and begging Brice to fuck you. Mmm…man love. Yummy!” Dakota shivered and clenched his jaw. It wasn't that the idea was unappealing, but rather too damn erotic as the image had blood rushing to his dick. “Oooh, it looks like I'm not the only one who likes that thought.” Her gaze lowered to his lengthening cock. “It's a shame I'm not going to have a piece of that.” “Don't even think about it, Winter. Remember the contract? I have the right to refuse certain activities. Sex with you is a big no-no, never going to happen.” “I know your rules,” she said with a sigh, then rattled them off as if she'd memorized them for a test. “No lasting or permanent marks or the drawing of blood. No public humiliation or anything that would cause negative attention to the company. No illegal acts. Always use a safe word with BDSM play. And you have the right to refuse sex, a suggested scene, or to stop at any time.” She flicked her wrist as if to shoo off the thought of him denying her. “Back to

Brice. I want you to charm him. Teach him. Make his first experience with a guy memorable. There's none other I would trust with someone I love.” Dakota studied her for a moment. Her steady gaze locked with his, and he could see the sincerity in her expression and eyes. Would this job really be that bad? It wasn't like it would be too much of a hardship teaching the young man some of the sex tricks he'd picked up over the years. Brice was a good-looking young man. He couldn't remember the last time he was with someone so green. His rates almost guaranteed he didn't get the younger, foolish, and sometimes dangerous ones. One last weekend as a whore, and he'd move on with his new life. “He's of legal age, right?” Winter rolled her eyes and made a hissing sound. “Twenty-three, like me.” Did he really have a choice, despite his rules? “Fine, I'll do it. But what about this?” He twisted slightly, indicating the bondage equipment he wore. “Oh, that.” The wicked grin returned. “That's my little joy this weekend, since I knew you'd never agree to have sex with me. I like the way you look all trussed up, and it'll feed my appetite for upcoming activities. I've also got some new toys to try out, and you're the perfect candidate.” Dakota groaned and hung his head. “This is going to be a long weekend.”

Chapter Three Brice stared at his reflection in the mirror. The man who stared back was the same one he saw day after day. However, today, something was different. What was that he saw in his face? Nervousness? Excitement? Perhaps both. No matter which, there was a flush to his cheeks and a brightness to his eyes. But then, it could just be a by-product of the heat of the shower, and nothing to do with the surprise Winter had lined up. He still couldn't believe Winter had done this. The gagged and bound man was here for him. His reluctance to pick up a guy at a bar or anywhere else had driven his best friend to hire an escort to break him in, as Winter had put it. With a sigh, Brice hung his head and closed his eyes. As much as he enjoyed having sex with Winter, he always felt as if something was missing. She was attractive and sexy as hell and could probably arouse a corpse if she tried hard enough, but still, Brice wanted something more. Something different. Something she couldn't give him. Eventually, she'd figured out that he was attracted to men. Her suspicion was probably confirmed the night she took him to a gay dance club and found him practically drooling all over himself. Yet he'd never made a move to explore his desire, in spite of all the scenarios his friend had arranged. Her reasoning was logical, at least to his half-numb yet very surprised mind. Would he want his first time with a guy to be full of awkward fumbles and unsated desire? Though no one could know for sure it would go that way, the possibility that it could made Brice stop and think. Winter promised that with Dakota and her help, Brice would have a truly unforgettable experience.

“This has got to be a dream,” Brice muttered as he straightened up and started to towel dry his hair. “Or maybe a nightmare.” The man kneeling next to the bed looked like a mythical god. So beautiful that he almost looked feminine. And the intense look on his face sent goose bumps along Brice's limbs. How could he be expected to perform with such an exquisite example of the human species? Talk about pressure. Perfect time for doubts to intrude. Brice squeezed into the jeans Winter demanded he wear, and put his Tshirt back on before running a comb through his hair. He couldn't stay in the bathroom all weekend. Winter would find a way to break through the door to make him come out. She might be all woman, but he didn't dare mess too much with her, as she was a master in the martial art Soo Bahk Do, and he knew she wasn't afraid to use those skills if the situation called for it. He took a deep breath and grabbed the door handle. “I hope you know what you're doing, Winnie, or this will be a disaster.” Opening the door, Brice found Winter kneeling in front of Dakota. His gag had been removed, and they were speaking softly. From their body language, it appeared as if they knew each other. Briefly, Brice wondered if Winter had played with Dakota before. Perhaps she used him often here in her playhouse. He didn't like the pictures that train of thought conjured. He leaned against the frame and watched them, his arms folded over his chest. He took a long, hard look at the man who was to potentially be his first male lover. Though the lighting was dim, Brice could see that Dakota's hair was more than one shade of blond. At least three different hues streaked the slightly wavy length that ended just below his shoulders. His profile accented a narrowly sloped nose and high cheekbones. He'd not yet gotten close enough to see the color of the man's eyes, but Brice was sure they would be as exotic as the total package.

Brice's gaze wandered lower, pleased with the man's attractive, fit body. His cock pressed tighter against his already snug jeans as he took in the muscular arms, abs, and thighs. He was disappointed that Dakota's dick couldn't be seen from this angle. Both turned their attention to Brice, as if they had felt his stare boring into Dakota. He locked eyes with Dakota and felt his heart race with desire, though his lack of experience quickly filled him with doubt. There was no way he could pleasure a professional like Dakota Knight. Winter looked at Dakota, and her lips turned up into that sexy smile she wore when seduction was on her mind. Her, Brice could handle, was familiar and comfortable with. Letting out a soft breath of resignation, Brice stepped into the room. “Can we talk a minute, Winnie?” “Sure.” She got up and walked over to him. Brice took her arm and pulled her toward the main doorway before he spoke. “I'm not sure I can do this. He's…” He looked over at where Dakota still knelt, watching them. “Too much.” “Trust me. He's perfect for this. For you.” His brows drew together in confusion. “You said he's a professional escort. Will he allow me to…?” His words dropped off, unable to actually say it. “How can that be safe? And wouldn't that make him too experienced for me? Jeez, Winnie, you've given me performance anxiety before anything even starts.” Winter sidled up to Brice and palmed the bulge in his jeans. It twitched. She had the uncanny ability to tease him, and she drew much pleasure from torturing him. His dick seemed ready to play. But mentally, it was Dakota he wanted now. “I'm completely confident that your little soldier is more than willing and ready to come out and play.” She rose up on her toes and brushed her lips over

his. “Stop stressing, babe. Professor Winter is here to instruct. Just do as I say and all will be fine. Remember, I'm all about safe sex.” His brow arched. “Getting off on being a dominatrix this weekend?” The corner of his mouth twitched into a quick smirk. There was no question. His best friend was born to fill the shoes of a Domme. “Damn straight. You're not the only one who's getting something out of this.” She batted those brown, long-lashed puppy-dog eyes. “So, we good?” Taking a slow, deep breath, then letting it out, Brice nodded as his gaze lingered on Dakota. “What role shall I play if you're the Domme? Slave?” Maybe if he thought of it as one of those games Winter liked to play, then maybe he could really do this. “No one is above the dominatrix. Your mistress has complete control.” She gave him a wink. “Dakota is our slave, at mercy to our will, so you can play my subservient boy toy.” “Boy toy is easy.” He smiled and gave a mock bow to get into the game. “At your service. What would you have me do first?” “Let's get this show on the road.”

Chapter Four Dakota eyed Winter and Brice as they approached. Once more he hadn't been able to hear what they were talking about, but at least this time Brice wasn't flailing around like a wounded bird. From Winter's smug expression and Brice's obvious anxiety, Dakota assumed they'd come to a decision about him. Brice walked to the side of the bed opposite Dakota and sat down. He moved stiffly, as if he was uncomfortable with the entire situation. He wasn't the only one. Dakota didn't like not knowing what would occur between the three of them, but he concealed his true feelings behind a neutral expression. Winter walked past him and the bed, over to the dresser. She opened a drawer and pulled out a long chain, a small metal lock, and a black leather collar about two inches in width. Without a word, she knelt behind Dakota and swept his hair to one side before wrapping the collar around his neck. Dakota couldn't stop the low rumble of protest at the bottom of his throat as she buckled it snugly against his skin. “Be good, Dakota, and I promise your time here will be full of pleasure rather than hardship. How many of your other clients provided that for you?” Her words were whispered into his ear, the puffs of breath tickling his lobe. He swallowed hard. She had a point. The majority of his clientele were very selfish and out for their own pleasure. It had been a long time since he'd relished submitting to another. However, Dakota knew Winter. She didn't have a cruel bone in her shapely body. She may want others to see her tougher side, but she was really a softy at heart. Just like her father.

His eyes closed as one end of the light chain was clipped to his collar. One last weekend, he promised himself, before he forced his eyes to open when the chain rattled. It looked to be at least fifteen feet in length, not thick and heavy like the kind you find at hardware stores. This was most likely bought from a Web site that specialized in bondage equipment. Winter took the other end and wrapped it around the bedpost and footboard, then used the lock to hold it in place. Dakota was literally chained to the bed. Swallowing his sudden panic, he clenched his jaw and forced back unappealing memories. He knew Winter would never intentionally hurt him. He trusted her almost as much as he did her father. But that still didn't stop the doubts from tumbling in and the slight tremble down his back. Dakota was startled out of his thoughts when her hand lightly drew across his cheek. “Hey.” She gave a gentle smile. He said nothing as he met her gaze, grateful that his bondage was hiding his trembling hands. She appeared hesitant, as if rethinking her actions. “You okay?” Her concern dimmed the excitement in her eyes. “Fine,” he whispered tensely. She still paused as she studied him. The intense look on her face made him nervous and want to shift. Deciding to take him at his word, she spoke louder as her hand dropped from his face. “Are you going to be a good slave if I remove your bonds?” “Yes, Mistress,” Dakota dutifully answered. He knew his role—too well. He lowered his gaze, then his head. Winter reached for a key that hung on a chain around her neck, and quickly released his wrists and ankles. Slowly, Dakota straightened and allowed his stiff muscles some relief. “Climb up here with us.” Winter patted the nearest corner of the bed and stood. "Kneel with your knees spread and your hands resting on your thighs.”

She waited for him to comply before she continued her instructions. “Don't move until I tell you to.” “Yes, Mistress,” Dakota said softly as he lowered his head, gazing at Brice through his lashes. He couldn't help his attraction to the young man, who was staring at him with wide eyes and a nervous intensity. His apparent innocence and the way he willingly followed Winter's lead fascinated Dakota. While Dakota was staring at Brice, Winter had shed her short skirt and tight belly shirt and crawled onto the bed. He had to close his eyes, unable to look at the “little girl” he still saw in her bra and panties. How in hell was he expected to fulfill his obligation this weekend if he couldn't stop looking at her as a child? “Dakota,” she cooed. “Look at me.” Reluctantly, he lifted his head. Brice's shirt was gone, and Winter had curled her body around the deliciously fit form. “No looking away, all right?” His jaw ticked, but Dakota gave a slight nod and forced his fingers to lay straight instead of curling into fists.
Brice trembled. Winter's hands freely roamed his body, her mouth licking and nipping at his skin, but it was that concentrated stare from Dakota that truly aroused him. His eyes were beautiful. Now that he was closer, Brice saw that they were a dark green color, like pine needles in the middle of summer. He'd never seen eyes that shade of green before and wondered if they were colored contacts. He jerked slightly when Winter's hand found the sensitive bulge at his crotch. He was so hard that her touch was painful, and he hissed when she squeezed him. She bit his earlobe and diverted the pain receptors in his body to where her mouth played. Of their own accord, his hands smoothed over her shoulders, settling on her breasts and toying with the satin-covered nipples.

“I can't wait to see you kiss him. Touch him.” She moaned. “Fuck him.” “Damn,” Brice groaned. He couldn't stop his head from falling back and his eyes from closing, as all sorts of wicked visions entered his mind. As much as he enjoyed being with Winter, he found himself wishing that it were Dakota touching him. Rubbing against him. Wanting him. “Uh-uh, boy toy. Gotta keep those beautiful eyes open.” Her hands were releasing the button on the waistband of his jeans and carefully pulling down the zipper. His cock sprang free, causing Brice to let out a sharp gasp. “Tell me, does he like what he sees?” The fog of lust and need made him slow. Her words didn't make sense. His eyes opened and lowered to where her small hand was wrapped around his hard cock. Winter chuckled. “I know it's tough, but try to keep track, babe. Look at Dakota. Is he hard?” Brice's gaze shifted and found a dick as stiff and swollen as his between Dakota's thighs. The sight pumped a fresh batch of blood into his own cock, and his yearning increased. The man's dick was thick, and the engorged, purple-tinted head made his heart race. Would that thing even fit into his body? Wait. Dakota wasn't going to fuck him. This was about him being with a man for the first time. Nowhere did he agree to a cock up his ass. Especially one built like that. Winter gave his dick a quick tug. “Tell me.” Brice nodded and swallowed the lump clogging his throat. She jerked him again with impatience. “What?” “Yes,” he said quickly. Even with the small pain she inflicted, his erection hadn't softened, and it was becoming clear that it wouldn't until he came. “Yes, he's hard.” His voice cracked on the last word. “Good,” she said softly, a contradiction to her rough grip. “I love to tease.”

This made Brice snort. Her words were true. She was an expert at delivering a pleasure so torturous that it was almost sadistic, when she was in one of those moods. He felt for Dakota if that was what she had planned. Of course, he wasn't on the greener side of the pasture either, since he seemed to be her instrument to use against Dakota. “Watch him. No matter what I do, I don't want you to take your eyes off him. Understand?” “Yes.” The word came out as a croak, because as soon as she spoke, her head lowered and his dick was engulfed by her mouth. Brice watched Dakota's chest rise and lower at a quicker pace. His nose flared and jaw clenched. The slight twitching of his fingers drew Brice's attention, and he briefly wondered who Dakota fought from touching? Himself, Winter, or maybe—if he were lucky—him. As Brice's hands tangled in Winter's hair, he could only think of what it would feel like to do the same to Dakota. He wanted to see how the different-colored strands would look as they threaded through his fingers. Would his skin feel as smooth as it looked? Was there a difference in the feel of a man's lips compared to a woman's when kissed? “Winnie.” His whisper was hoarse, and his hands became fists in her hair. He pulled her away and took several gulps of air. Between her wonderful mouth working him, his naughty thoughts, and the sight of a gorgeous man watching it all, Brice was about to lose control if she didn't stop. She lifted her head and wiped the corner of her mouth. “Too hot to handle, babe?” He smiled. “You know better than that.” He glanced at Dakota. “But don't you think this is a little one-sided?” Winter's brow rose questioningly, and then she gasped in surprise when Brice flipped her so that she lay on her back with his body on top of hers. With a push of his pelvis, he buried his throbbing cock between her thighs to nestle snug against her satin-covered pussy. Her heat and wetness immediately surrounded him, and they groaned in unison.

Winter placed her hands on his chest as if to push him off but didn't apply pressure. “I should spank you for that.” A grin lifted his lips. “You know I'd like that too much.” He was playing with her, as he'd never been spanked by her or anyone else other than his parents when he was a young child. But the image of Dakota wielding a whip on his ass sparked his interest. Pushing the thought aside, Brice lowered his head and kissed Winter.

Chapter Five Both Dakota's body and mind ached. Emotions mixed together and fought for dominance as he watched Brice and Winter make out. The sight was sexy, especially Brice's cock, but it was also frustrating to be only an observer to the scene. And he didn't even want to begin to think about Winter's actions and how they left his thoughts about her too jumbled to think straight. How could he be remotely attracted to her when she was the daughter of his employer and close friend? Oh, wait, maybe because she was stripped down to her underclothes, showing off all sorts of skin, and sucking a dick like a yummy lollipop. His fingers finally curled into fists as he tried to separate his mental and physical torment. He wasn't sure which was stronger. The mental confusion urged him to let his thoughts drift and detach from the scene while ignoring the fleshly desires. Yet the building need of his body demanded action for a release. The bite of his nails into his palms helped to keep him in the moment, but it didn't stop the lust still jolting through his body. Winter's hands slipped around Brice's torso and slid down to push his tight jeans down until they bunched under his firm ass. The sight of the tight, exposed cheeks was almost Dakota's undoing. His cock twitched, desperate for relief. However, he steeled himself to keep his control. He'd been teased before by men and women with more experience and maturity than these two. He could handle these kids. “Tell me you have condoms,” Brice moaned when their lips parted. Winter chuckled and looked over Brice's shoulder to lock gazes with Dakota. She was an intelligent woman. She wouldn't have gone to so much

trouble to set all this up without having a specific plan. Dakota wasn't sure if he should be proud or worried—or scared. Her hands slid up to Brice's shoulders. “A drawer full, but you don't need those just yet.” Dakota watched with interest as Brice slid down Winter's body, apparently knowing what she wanted of him. “Take off those jeans, Brice, and position yourself on your knees, ass facing Dakota and legs spread wide. If he's going to watch, we might as well give him a great view.” With blazing cheeks, Brice looked over his shoulder at their voyeur. Dakota thought it was adorable and quite sexy. But he's a client, he reminded himself. A kid, compared to his years. This was just a job, and he needed to keep that in mind. “Brice.” Winter's voice was coated with impatience, and it spurred the young man into action to do her bidding. Dakota resisted the urge to smile. It was clear who the boss was in their relationship. And though in this scene Dakota was obviously the low man on the totem pole, Brice wasn't too much higher. With his eyes focused on Brice, Dakota allowed a moment of fantasy to intrude on his thoughts. His experience had afforded him a sense about people, and he saw he could easily dominate this young man; Brice would succumb like a fish to water under his charms and teaching. Visions of Brice crawling on his knees to do his bidding crowded his mind. Then he would flash that pretty ass, begging for a hard fuck. Dakota could practically hear Brice's whimpers and groans of pleasure as he roughly gripped Brice's hips and thrust his cock deep and fierce inside, being relentless, knowing the pleasure that would surely sate the lust of the horny young man. A moan from Winter brought Dakota out of his fantasy. Brice was positioned just as she'd instructed. His ass within arm's reach, ready to be

caressed—or smacked, if it was commanded. Dakota's gaze strayed to the two lumps hanging in full view. They were already drawn and tight. It was the perfect position for Dakota to slide under and take those sacs into his mouth. Blinking, Dakota focused on the scene. The crotch of Winter's panties was pushed aside, her legs spread wide and held in place by Brice's hands while his mouth and tongue fucked her pussy. She leaned back on her elbows, head thrown back, eyes closed, and lips parted. Her full breasts heaved with each pant. The sight of her was alluring, but not enough to make Dakota want to join in on pleasing her. Dakota discovered that his psyche was already accepting that the little girl he always saw in Winter was gone, replaced by a sensual and sexual woman. A woman in charge of her life and who knew exactly what she liked and wanted. However, that didn't change the fact that he held no compulsion to engage in sex with her. Brice, on the other hand, was a different story. The young man had Dakota's blood heated and speeding so fast to his groin that he was lightheaded with lust. Winter wanted him to introduce Brice to the pleasures of being intimate with a man. Boy, could he instruct Brice in the sensual ways of same-sex coupling! Winter's cry of release again drew Dakota from his musings, and he forced his body to relax, fingers uncurling. If only it were that easy to relieve the ferocious ache in his cock.
Brice pulled back from Winter to kneel between her legs. He used the back of his hand to wipe the excess wetness from around his mouth and gazed down at the satisfied expression on his lover's face. Eating her had done nothing to distract him from the throbbing of his swollen cock or to stop the burning on his backside, where he was positive Dakota was staring. “I hope you never go total guy on me, babe. That tongue can win some awards.” Winter sighed as a smile floated on her lips. She lifted herself to sit

upright. “Maybe you should get into porn, hmmm? I'm sure they are always on the lookout for awesome fluffers, and you're definitely fiiiine enough to make it into gay porn.” Brice rolled his eyes but still felt his cheeks heat. It was one thing to make comments like that when they were alone, but he felt self-conscious with Dakota watching and listening. Winter chuckled as she rose and retrieved a silky red robe that lay on the post of the headboard. Once she secured its belt around her waist, she slid back onto the bed, her back propped against the headboard. “Now that that's out of the way and the ice is broken, let's get on with the real show.” Brow arched, Brice couldn't help but glance at Dakota before asking, “Real show?” “Duh, babe. You think I brought Dakota here for me? Okay, don't answer that. He's a pure hottie, and I love gawking at him, but this is more for you. I'm just the conductor of the orchestra, out to make some beautiful music.” Brice's mouth opened to argue, but the words fell on a dead tongue when she gave him the look. Experience told him that any argument he could counter with would fail. When Winter Chase set her mind on something, there was no persuading her otherwise. Letting out a soft, resigned sigh, Brice nodded. “What's next, Winnie?” “A kiss.” Brice shrugged. “All right, but we've already kissed.” Winter huffed. “Keep up, Brice. Not me. Dakota.” Just when he was beginning to relax, Brice felt his body tense again and his stomach flutter with nervous excitement. He was about to kiss another man. An orgasmically hot man, at that. Even if he'd gotten the nerve to approach some of the men in the gay bars Winter had dragged him to, there was no chance in hell one as beautiful as Dakota would look at him twice. “Come closer, Dakota. Right in front of Brice.”

Brice inhaled sharply as he watched Dakota crawl toward him. The chain attaching him to the bed jingled with his movements, and the sound sent warm shivers up Brice's spine. “Kiss him,” Winter commanded. Brice locked gazes with Dakota and felt himself fall into those dark green depths. Brought on by lust and raw attraction for the man kneeling in front of him, sensations of desire glided along his body. The strength behind Dakota's appeal was more than he expected. He was so lost in his thoughts, Brice flinched when a warm hand lightly touched his cheek. Dakota's hand. “Relax, kid. It's no different than kissing a female.” “I'm not—” Brice started to protest that he was no kid, but his words were cut off when Dakota's mouth closed over his and a tongue delved in to tangle with his. A rush of adrenaline shot through his body and made him tense before he relaxed into the kiss Dakota initiated. Brice discovered the feel of kissing a man was very different from kissing a woman. Dakota's lips were firmer, and there was a slight scratch to Brice's cheek where their facial hair brushed together. There was also no mistaking the masculine, musky scent permeating the air between them—definitely not like the perfume of a woman. Brice found the entire experience stimulating and very erotic as his body responded with a racing heart and trembling limbs, not to mention a savage need building in his groin. Dakota's thumb, still lightly caressing his cheek, encouraged Brice's fingers to explore. Slowly at first, they lifted to dip into Dakota's silky hair. The longer the kiss continued, the braver Brice became with his strokes and exploration, as his hands traveled down Dakota's neck to his enticing, rigid chest.

It was Dakota who finally pulled away, drawing a deep groan from Brice, who didn't want it to end. Not yet. Dakota's hands still palmed his face, but instead of letting go, he leaned forward and gave a quick, almost chaste kiss to Brice's forehead before letting his hands fall away and back to his sides. Brice opened his mouth but was unable to speak as Winter's voice shattered the sensual scene with reality. “Suck on Dakota, Brice. I want to watch you give each other blowjobs.”

Chapter Six Dakota studied the young man's face as it paled slightly. Brice's lips trembled, yet his eyes darkened with desire and his pupils dilated. Dakota understood Brice's body's mixed signals. Years ago, he'd felt the same way with his first few encounters with men. Fear and lust. Not always a bad mixture, but it could make a person cautious. “Winter, don't make him if he's not ready.” The plea was spoken softly, but his gaze remained on the man before him. “I'm ready,” Brice insisted, before Winter could respond. Dakota wasn't so sure. With a raised brow, he boldly asked, “Have you ever sucked cock before?” He kept his voice soft and tone even so as not to scare or influence his client. Brice shook his head. Winter pleaded silently with her eyes when Dakota glanced at her. Damn, he hated it when she gave him those puppy-dog eyes. Though he was resigned to doing his job this weekend, he still wasn't happy about breaking Brice's man-love virginity, so to speak. Why couldn't MD guilt him into a job with an experienced client? Dakota's shoulders dropped slightly and, with a light sigh, he turned his attention to Brice. Ignoring Winter's presence as much as possible, along with the clinking of the chain every time he moved, would help things move more smoothly. “Lie on your side, facing me, and your head up by Winter.”

Thankfully, Brice didn't argue his command and did as he was instructed, though somewhat clumsily. Dakota lay opposite of him, his feet near Brice's head and their cocks close to the other's mouth. They were nearly the same height, so neither of them would be too uncomfortable. Dakota couldn't deny that he was beginning to get excited, and the rush of feeling made him feel young again—fresh and enthusiastic about the sexual contact with his client. Luckily, this time around, he had experience on his side, which was the purpose of Winter's little scheme. He also had to give Brice kudos for the courage he showed by going along with this scene. First-time intimacy with the same sex was stressful enough, but to do so with a third person directing the movements and watching took guts. He couldn't help but admire the kid. “Be mindful of your teeth, Brice.” Again, he kept his words soft, smooth, and encouraging. “Start with what you enjoy having done to you, and we'll go from there.” “Okay.” Brice's response was barely audible. Dakota bit back a moan at Brice's light, hesitant touch. It felt good. His mind tried to wander away from the scene when Brice's hot, wet tongue flicked over his tip. It was an automatic response, a type of a defense mechanism and shield he had built up during the years so he could emotionally detach from his clients. He discovered early never to fall for a client, as it only ended in pain and humiliation. So his mind would travel elsewhere while his body ran on automatic. The closest he'd come to having feelings for a client lately was Kyle, Nate's lover. It was obvious why Nate had fallen for Kyle. The man was handsome, down-to-earth, compassionate, and fun to be around. It would have been very easy to fall for Kyle if he hadn't automatically controlled his emotions. He now considered Kyle a friend. Dakota turned his focus to his apprentice and the intensely wild feelings making him soar. For the first time in ages, he longed to let go and truly enjoy

the great sex he'd perfected through the years. Deciding to live for the moment, Dakota pushed aside all concerns and inappropriate emotions and began to take all the pleasure this last job could give him. He let out a breath of satisfaction as Brice's tongue teased the entire length of his cock. It felt good, but he wanted more, so he decided to lead by example. Dakota let his tongue flicker at Brice's cock tip a couple of times before swirling around underneath the head, where the most sensitive nerves were housed. Brice took the hint and copied the movement. This time Dakota released a soft moan of approval. If this kid was going to learn to suck dick, he was going to teach him the correct way. Pushing the lesson further, he shifted his hands from Brice's hips to grasp the throbbing dick he was sucking. As Dakota lifted his head so that only the very tip was in his mouth, his hands twisted around it in different directions with a light pressure. “Holy mother of fuck!” Brice nearly jumped from the bed. Dakota held back a laugh. If he used a little more pressure, he knew the friction alone could make Brice spill his seed. But he still had more play in mind before letting that happen, so he changed his grip, his right hand supporting the base with a light pressure and his left hand sliding down to fondle Brice's balls. This time when Dakota lowered his head to Brice's dick, he relaxed his throat and let the head touch the back of his throat. Skilled as he was, Dakota quickly swallowed, allowing his throat to close around Brice just enough to make the young man jerk and moan. “Please, Dakota,” Brice whimpered. “You're almost there,” Dakota said when he pulled back enough to speak, giving the kid a moment to recover. After a couple more tormenting yet arousing maneuvers, which included stroking Brice's perineum, Dakota slid his throbbing, leaking cock into his

mouth. He made sure his grip was tight on the base to help ward off the approaching orgasm that would soon rush through Brice. “Flying monkey nuts, that's…” Brice's voice dropped off into pants when Dakota squeezed a little harder. “Not yet.” Damn, the roles had reversed. Here he was supposed to play the slave, yet he was the one doing the commanding. But then, who was he to argue when he had the scene in hand—literally. Dakota held off from completing the blowjob on Brice, as the lesson wasn't quite finished. He wouldn't let the poor boy suffer much longer, but first he had to do what he had been paid to do. “Suck it, Brice,” Dakota ordered gruffly. Brice's mouth came down on Dakota's cock an instant later, this time making Dakota gasp from the sudden powerful, almost painful, suction. He used his free hand to fist Brice's hair and pull him back, wincing only slightly. “You're not a vacuum sucking dirt from a carpet. A little gentler on the suction and more finesse. Add some tongue movement. Lightly, of course. Nothing like pain to create a soft-on.” He mumbled the last sentence. Brice tried again, this time doing much better. Dakota allowed his body to relax and enjoy the ministrations. Brice showed natural talent and, with practice, would make a great cocksucker. Dakota loosened his fistful of Brice's hair, and soon he was practically petting the short locks encouragingly. When he felt his own release closing in, he dipped his head and began to work on Brice once more. It didn't take long before Brice gave off muffled cries as he tried to continue to please Dakota while coming. Dakota refrained from showing his amusement as he swallowed the jetting spunk before releasing his own into Brice's mouth.

Satisfied by reaching this first goal in his job, Dakota released his hold on Brice and rolled onto his back, eyes closed and chest rising and falling a bit too quickly. He'd enjoyed that—more than he should have.
Brice couldn't believe it; he'd given another man a blowjob. It almost seemed like a dream, but the aftertaste of cum in his mouth was no illusion. Neither was the warmth radiating from the body lying next to him. As reality sank in, his throat constricted and his stomach flipped with panic. Holy shit! He'd really done it. And loved it. And wanted to do it again. Brice turned his head slightly and stared at Dakota, looking for some sign that he wanted more too. But disappointment slithered in as he saw Dakota's blank expression and the stillness of his body, his breath already calmed and dick lying flaccid against his thigh. But then, why would Dakota feel the same? The man was a professional. Probably did this so much that it no longer affected him. This was just another job for him. Sighing, Brice closed his eyes and tried to fight back the feeling of rejection. “Color me fucked,” Winter spoke, awe coating her voice. “That was better than any gay porn I've ever seen. Damn, I should've had my camcorder. I could've made some money off this show.” “You wouldn't dare,” Dakota growled. The sound of his words sent shivers climbing up Brice's spine, as malice rung in each syllable. She chuckled, unafraid, and shrugged nonchalantly. “You never know.” This brought about another growl, and Dakota sat up, swung his feet off the bed, and let them hit the floor. He looked as if he was about to stand and possibly walk away, but the chain tinkled lightly, and he stopped. Had the

sound reminded him of his role in this scene? Or maybe he wasn't going to walk away. Either way, he let out a sigh, and his tense shoulders slumped. “Lay off, Winnie,” Brice whispered and propped himself up with his elbows, his gaze still captivated by Dakota's backside. “Party pooper.” She gave him her famous pout. Fortunately, Brice was almost immune to it…most of the time. In an instant, her eyes widened and the pout turned to a frown when the ringer of her cell phone went off across the room. “Dammit.” Brice watched her saunter across the room to the table by the kitchen area. He hadn't noticed she had laid her cell phone there. Of course, many things were a blur since stepping inside her playhouse. She rolled her eyes before punching a button to answer it. “Yes?” The expression on her face and her tone told Brice who it was. Her father. He'd only met Mr. Chase a handful of times and found him to be a pleasant and devoted father. Winnie was unconventional, and together with her father, they made a pretty eccentric pair of characters. It was obvious that they loved one another and had a good relationship. Brice just wished Winter would appreciate it more. “What?” she nearly shrieked but quickly quieted down as she walked swiftly to the bathroom and closed herself inside. Brice stared at the closed door a moment, confused, before turning to Dakota. He wore the same bewildered mask. Both remained quiet as an occasional sound of protest echoed from the other side of the door. After several minutes of quiet, the door opened and Winter emerged. She didn't look toward the bed but set the cell phone on the table and started to gather her clothes before putting them on again. “There's something I've got to take care of.” Still she didn't look their way.

“Winnie, are you okay? Is your father all right?” Brice braved the question. She paused for a moment, her shirt just over her head but not yet pulled down over her breasts. Uncertainty flashed across her face before she continued to dress. Brice noticed that Dakota stiffened at the mention of Winter's father. Did they know each other? How? What was the connection? “He's fine. He just needs some help with…um…something.” She finished pulling down her shirt and picked up her shoes, placing them next to the phone and keys. She bent down and started to gather Brice's clothes. “I'll try not to be gone long, but in case I don't make it back tonight, there's plenty of food and”—she looked around—“entertainment to occupy you.” She walked to the chair near the bathroom, where Dakota had neatly folded his clothes. She picked them up along with his phone and keys and added them to the pile in her arm. “Winter, what are you doing?” Dakota spoke up. “Huh?” She appeared distracted. She looked around until she found Dakota's shoes and then Brice's. Her arms were now overflowing with their things. Dakota stood, drawing Brice's attention to his delicious body. The way the muscles shifted under his smooth skin with every movement was mesmerizing. “Winter!” Dakota barked. The sound jerked Brice back to reality. She jumped and stopped moving about. Turning to them both, she gave a smile that didn't reach her eyes. “Sorry. I'm a bit preoccupied. Now, just because I'm not here doesn't mean you two can't play. Dakota still has a lot to instruct you on, Brice.” Winter's reminding him why they were there set the butterflies in his gut aflutter once again. He felt like a young boy who was about to experience his first kiss. Wait, he'd already done that—and more. So why the stress?

“Brice is in charge in my absence. He's your master, Dakota. You're to obey every command. You may only instruct him in the pleasures of being with a man, but he's the dominant. Understood?” Authority laced her words, and her eyes narrowed, as if conveying a secret message to Dakota. “Of course.” Brice was surprised to hear Dakota answer softly, lowering his gaze. “Feel free to try anything you wish, Brice,” she continued, looking Brice's way and motioning to the equipment around them. “I'm sure Dakota will know how most of this stuff works. But watch out for this one. Don't let him top from the bottom.” “Top from the bottom?” Brice asked, bewildered, turning back to Winter. “Just don't let him turn the tables on you, babe.” She turned and gathered the rest of the things on the table. “Wait, why are you taking our clothes?” Brice suddenly realized he was still nude, and now he felt a bit uncomfortable. Her mischievous grin from earlier returned. “With no clothes, neither of you is likely to be inclined to leave. Of course, there's always a towel or the bedsheets, but would you really want to be caught in the warehouse district wearing only that?” Brice shook his head, knowing that this wasn't the safest part of town. Dakota followed suit with a shake of his head. “Call it insurance. I'll make sure the outer door is bolted. This one can be locked from inside here if it makes you feel more comfortable. No one will even realize you're here.” Winter walked to the door. “Play nice, boys. I just wish I'd be here to see it. I really should've brought the camcorder.” With a final sigh, she left, closing the door behind her.

Chapter Seven Dakota couldn't believe what was happening. First Winter talked him into accepting this job, and then she left after a call from her father? What the hell was she thinking? Glancing at Brice, Dakota could see that the poor boy was as confused as he was. So here he was, left alone with the younger man and expected to teach him how to be intimate with another man. How fucked was that? As much as he disliked it, at least with Winter around it was easier to fall into the role of this scene she'd set up. But with Brice alone and no Winter to guide them? Thoughts of easily dominating the kid came back full force, with Brice whimpering and begging for his touch, his kisses, and of course, his cock. Goose bumps broke out over his arms as wicked images flashed through his mind. However, that wasn't really what he'd do, and he knew it. Dakota had agreed to this last weekend to repay a debt. He'd also agreed to do this for Winter's sake and promised to follow the plan. He was a man of his word, and no matter how tired he was of whoring out his body, he'd not start breaking it now. “Well, what would you like to do now, Brice?” Dakota would fulfill his agreement, but that didn't mean he'd call this kid “Master.” He had his limits. He watched Brice fidget. It was clear he was uneasy. Brice rose from the bed and went to the kitchen, where he filled a glass with water from the sink faucet. “Brice?” Dakota tried to get his attention when he didn't answer.

“Dammit! I don't know!” He slammed down the glass and leaned on the counter. “This wasn't my idea. I don't have a clue…” His voice faded as his expression shifted from anger to despair. “I know the feeling, kid,” Dakota whispered and shook his head. His next words were louder. “When was the last time you ate?” Cooking was Dakota's stress reliever. When in doubt, create something delicious to eat. A high metabolism and strict discipline with his exercise program made sure the food he devoured didn't go straight to his gut. Brice sighed. “I had a banana on the way out the door this morning.” “You mind?” Dakota lifted his hand to where the chain and collar connected. “Of course not. Go ahead and remove the chain.” Dakota noticed that Brice said to remove the chain, not the collar. That told him that no matter how unplanned this was, Brice liked him wearing it. Then again, Dakota thought he looked damn good in most anything. Even out of anything. He didn't spend hours working out just to look unattractive to his clients. Unlatching the chain, Dakota walked into the kitchen area. Immediately he searched through the refrigerator and cabinets, making note of what Winter had stocked. He smiled. Apparently she was counting on his cooking skills at some time during his stay. Heaven knew she couldn't boil water without burning it. She had provided all the fixings for a shrimp and chicken jambalaya, as well as all he'd need to cook a delicious breakfast the next morning. “You're actually going to cook?” Brice asked, as Dakota began to pull food from the fridge and cabinets. Dakota shrugged. “I'm hungry. You're hungry. We need to eat.” “But I'm…you're…” Brice stumbled over his words and couldn't seem to make any sense.

“What?” Dakota turned and stared. “Nude.” Dakota rolled his eyes. “Duh, genius. Winnie,” he said her name full of sarcasm, “took our clothes. You'd rather starve than have me cook au naturel?” Brice's cheeks flamed red. He shook his head. “Of course not, it's just… Well… I've never known anyone to—” “Cook in their birthday suit? Not like I have any clothes to put on.” Dakota smiled. “Really, Brice, it's not a problem. Don't worry your pretty little head about it. Go and sit at the table like a good boy, and I'll have this done in a jiffy.” “I'm not a boy. Or a kid.” His eyes narrowed, and his lips pressed into a thin line. The look of his anger was as sexy as his embarrassment. The twitch of Dakota's dick brought the reality of the situation back to him. Pushing back the desire like the professional he was, he shrugged again. “Whatever you say.” It wouldn't be good to have a stiffy around knives and hot stuff, so he kept control of his thoughts. After starting the water to boil the rice, Dakota began to chop the chicken and prepare the shrimp. From his peripheral vision, he could see that Brice had done what he'd suggested, only after he'd gotten a towel to wrap around his waist. Turning to retrieve the green pepper and onion from the fridge, Dakota smirked. It appeared as if Brice had a modest streak in him. Not surprising, and it probably drove Winter nuts. Dakota had no such qualms about being nude. He was proud of his body, and working in the business he was in, he had learned early on that his clients very much enjoyed viewing it more bared than covered. So any modesty he'd had was long gone. “How long have you known Winter?” If they were stuck together, he might as well make nice and have a conversation.

Brice jerked as if he'd been stung. Jumpy little imp. He cleared his throat and blushed before he answered. “Since our senior year of high school. I moved here before the winter break. I met her on my first day of school and haven't been able to shake her since.” A smile played on his lips as he spoke of her. Dakota chuckled softly. “Yeah, she's like a leech.” “You've known her long?” “Most of her life.” He didn't expound on their relationship. “Oh. Have you and her—” “Never,” Dakota answered quickly in a flat tone. He didn't want to think about the scene earlier and the way she shattered his long-held little-girl image. He was sure to have troubling nightmares about it after this weekend was over. Brice was quiet for a few moments, probably absorbing the information he'd just been given. Dakota wondered just how much Brice knew about Winter's family, or even him, for that matter. Maybe it was best Brice didn't know too much. After their time together this weekend ended, it was unlikely they'd cross paths again.
Brice's head ached. Too much was happening too fast. His poor mind couldn't quite keep up with the world twirling around him. Winnie had certainly thrown him for a loop—then left him to jump without a parachute. At least, that's what it felt like. “I can't believe this,” he groaned as he laid his head on his folded arms on the table. He'd never complain that he had a boring life again. “You okay?” Dakota's voice was close. Very close. Raising his head slightly, he was staring into those gorgeous eyes, which looked much older than the man himself. What kind of life had he led to have eyes like that?

“Yeah. Just a bit overwhelmed. This wasn't what I expected when she suggested taking me away for the weekend.” Dakota's lips curved into a smirk, and Brice noticed a slight dimple in his left cheek. He felt the urge to kiss it. “I'm sure. I was supposed to be packing.” Dakota straightened up, patted Brice's shoulder, and returned to the kitchen area. “Packing? As in packing to move?” “Yes.” Dakota stirred rice into the pot of boiling water. Intrigued and trying to ignore the little bit of disappointment settling into his gut, he stood and walked over to the counter. “Switching residences or leaving town?” “I've got a place up in the mountains. It's time to leave the city.” “Oh.” The disappointment grew into a baseball and made its way up, hanging heavy in his chest. He silently chastised himself. He'd just met Dakota, an escort paid to engage in sex with him. Why should he care if he never saw the man again? The emotion crawling around inside him didn't make sense, so he ignored it and changed the subject. “You appear to know what you're doing with that knife. Cook a lot?” “As often as I can. Here, why don't you give me a hand and chop these while I finish working on the shrimp.” He pushed the cutting board, which had an onion and a green bell pepper on it, over to Brice. “Just breathe from your mouth as you chop the onion. That will help keep the tears at bay.” Brice took the knife, but his gaze kept returning to Dakota's body. “Um, there's another towel in the bathroom. Could you use it while we're in here?” “Does my being nekkid offend you?” he asked with a raised brow and a smirk tilting one of the corners of his lips. His eyes almost glimmered in the kitchen light, as if he found the suggestion amusing. “Trust me; there's nothing offensive about your body.” His gaze once more wandered over to that delectable bod. Damn, it was pure sin to have a form like

that. “It's just…well…distracting. I don't trust myself with a knife in hand while you're…looking like that.” Dakota chuckled, shook his head, and walked to the bathroom. “If it'll make you feel better.” Brice liked the sound of Dakota's chuckle. It was a deep rumble that was as sensual as his body. The sound flowed easily over Brice, like a gentle stream. “Better?” Dakota held his hands out from his body and twirled in a circle, showing off how the towel conformed to his firm, sexy ass. Brice groaned. “Not really, but it'll have to do for now.” He turned to the chore in front of him and began to slice the bell pepper. They worked in silence as dinner came together. Brice found himself relaxing the longer he was in Dakota's presence. Though it was difficult to keep his mind off what lay just beneath Dakota's towel, the easy camaraderie between them felt right. It was as if they did this every day. Brice fished out the bottle of wine he found in the fridge and poured two glasses when the jambalaya was ready. The quiet had been comfortable during the busy preparation of dinner, but now that they sat across from one another, the silence became deafening and a little unnerving for Brice.

Chapter Eight Dakota watched Brice fidget in his seat and felt the sudden tension sizzle the air. He found the young man intriguing as well as tantalizingly handsome. Brice's relationship with Winter interested him, and he wondered why he'd never met or heard about the kid before today, especially since he and Winter appeared to be quite close. “What do you do, Brice?” “Do?” He appeared shocked at the question. “Oh, you mean my job?” Dakota raised his brow and tried not to laugh at the young man's obvious edginess. “I'm a massage therapist.” That got Dakota's attention. Lowering his gaze to Brice's hands, he noticed how soft-looking they were. No calluses or cuts were visible. No signs that he did manual labor. “You any good?” This question caused Brice to choke on his food. Dakota watched without expression, gauging the reaction. “Let's just say that I have no trouble filling in forty hours of work in a week.” “Tell me about your business. Is it just you? Do you specialize in a particular modality? Do you make home visits?” He took a bite of food as he waited for an answer.

Brice stared at him for a moment, making Dakota a bit uncomfortable at the scrutiny. Amazing how after all this time at this job, he still disliked being the center of attention. “You know a lot about massage therapy?” “I've picked up some skill here and there.” He shrugged nonchalantly. Brice didn't have to know that with his rates, he dealt mostly with the filthy rich who could afford private massage therapists. He'd looked into it and socialized with therapists to learn effective techniques to use on his clients. It never hurt to learn new tricks when the opportunity presented itself. Brice sipped his wine. “I have a business with two other LMTs, and I work in a building near the hospital. I offer a variety of modalities, but my favorite is therapeutic massage.” He picked at his food while he spoke, pushing a piece of shrimp around in the rice. “I do some home visits. Got a couple of clients who pay me well for my time in the evening.” He met Dakota's gaze. “I don't think I have to ask if you're any good at your profession.” Dakota chuckled before speaking. “I'm retiring very comfortably at thirtyfive. Not many people can say that.” Taking a bite and chewing slowly, Brice nodded with agreement. “Hmm. Maybe you can become a chef. You've got a few more good years left.” “Only a few?” Dakota's lips twitched with a smile. Brice felt his cheeks heat. “I didn't mean to say you're old. Just that…” “Yes?” Dakota asked when his words dropped off. “Never mind.” He laid his fork on the table, gulped the last of his wine, and pushed away to stand. He started to walk toward the bathroom. From the sudden blush to his cheeks, it was apparent that Brice was embarrassed. Over what, Dakota wasn't quite sure. “Brice.” Hearing his name stopped Brice, but he didn't turn around. Though Dakota could have easily taken offense to the reference to his age, it truly didn't bother him. He was well aware of the age difference between them.

Dakota ogled Brice's back. Youth still clung to his body's slender build. A couple of years of weight lifting could fill Brice out. But why should he care? He'd leave tomorrow and move on with his life, no longer subject to the whims of any client. He stood and held out his hand. “Come here.” Brice turned around but hesitated to move, and Dakota couldn't blame him. However, he was hired to do a job. That's what he needed to keep his mind focused on, not thinking too much about Brice's insecurities or unlikely future possibilities. When Brice finally approached him, his eyes were downcast and his movements slow. Unsure. With confidence, Dakota grabbed his hand and dragged him to the bed. When they both knelt on the mattress, Dakota leaned over and searched the bedside table drawer for what he needed. Winter had more than stocked up. There were a variety of condoms, all shapes, sizes, and styles; lubes galore; and some small sex toys, like vibrating eggs and dildos. An old childhood circus tune ran through his mind, only his version had different lyrics: Condoms and vibrators and lubes, oh my! Imagine marketing that to the public. Shaking away the insane nonsense gathering in his head, Dakota turned back to his weekend client. He placed the paraphernalia within reach before lying back on the bed. “Let's see if there's really any magic in those hands.” Brice looked confused. “You want me to give you a massage?” Letting out a soft, patient sigh, Dakota shook his head. “Winter rushed us from lesson one straight into lesson three, skipping lesson two, about foreplay. Now, with some practice, giving head could really get you far, kid. You've got a natural talent for it.” “I'm not—”

Dakota held up his hand, which stopped Brice's argument. “But let's back it up and do this the right way, or at least the way I would go about it. Lesson two is about touch. The caress between lovers. A way to explore uncharted territory, so to speak. And a way to initiate foreplay to build sexual desire. How you go about foreplay can enhance the sensations your partner will experience once you use that skilled mouth of yours. Being a massage therapist, your hands should be finely tuned instruments. Let's use them for pleasure rather than work.” Brice's jaw twitched. Most likely still upset about the kid remark, but he just had to get over it. Twelve years can really make a difference in experience. Hell, by the time Brice was born, Dakota had already… No, he wasn't going to wade into that pool of memories, none of them good. “Fine, pleasure guru. Where do I begin?” Dakota resisted the urge to smile. Brice had spunk. A fiery light gleamed in his eyes, as if he was determined to prove he wasn't such a kid. Good, let him prove it. “Anywhere but my dick. That's off-limits.” Brice's lips parted in surprise. “But, that's… Isn't this…? What about…?” he sputtered. Irritation began to creep in. Dakota was good, but he didn't have the patience of a saint. “There's more to giving pleasure, or even receiving pleasure, than touching of the genitals. So, you have my permission to touch me anywhere but my dick.” To emphasize his words, one hand slipped down and took the slowly swelling organ into his hand. “And I thought I was the one in charge,” Brice mumbled as he shifted his body into a more comfortable position beside Dakota. This time Dakota didn't hold back his smile. “You have much to learn. A student can't be in charge until he's learned enough to be a master.”

Brice made a noise that resembled a disgruntled scoff, but said nothing in return. Instead, he sighed and shifted a little farther toward Dakota's upper body. Dakota watched as trembling hands reached out and touched his chest. Brice's hands were warm and soft. They remained still for several seconds, and Dakota wondered about this, until he shifted his gaze to Brice's face to find his eyes closed and him taking deep, quiet breaths. The warmth began to spread in slow exploration of his pecs, but Brice's eyes were still closed. “Open your eyes, Brice.” Dakota's words seemed to startle Brice, and his movements paused before he did as he was told. Confusion clouded his expression. “Men are visual creatures. At least most of us are, though I'll bet your sense of touch is much more sensitive than most. But I want you to watch your hands move over my body. Observe and feel my reactions to your touch.” Brice's fingers twitched on Dakota's skin, as if they were trying to pull away but couldn't. “Sorry. It's a habit when I touch someone new.” Dakota understood. He, too, had developed a way of touching his clients until he'd learned their likes and dislikes. This is what he was trying to teach Brice. To be a good lover meant to pay close attention. Whether it was a onenight stand or a long-term relationship, one wanted to be remembered as great rather than mediocre or not at all. “I'm not your massage client. I'm the man hired to be your first male lover.” The corner of his lips twitched with amusement with his next words. “I'm throwing in some tutoring on how to make you a great lover. Men and women both will enjoy these techniques.” Brice's expression darkened with annoyance. It was apparent that hiding his emotions wasn't his forte. He wore them on his sleeve. “I've had no complaints so far.”

“I'm sure you haven't. But do you know if you've completely blown them away when they are chatting with their girlfriends? Are you the one they'll always remember? The one they'll use as a baseline to compare future sexual partners?” A stream of emotions flew across Brice's face—doubt, hesitation, anger, and determination, each one adding fuel to the lust kindling in Dakota's gut. Yes, Brice was more than ten years his junior, but his fuckability was rising the longer they spent time together. “I'm not a bad lay.” Holy mother! How could he possibly be a bad lay? Just his boyish looks and innocence alone would go a long way. “Never said you were. Now are we going to sit here and debate this, or can we continue? Of course, I am paid up until tomorrow afternoon, so it's no matter to me. I know I'm the best my clients have had.” “You're an arrogant asshole,” Brice said with a scowl. Dakota gave a nonchalant shrug. “So I've been told, but my clients keep calling me back.” He'd been called names much worse, most of them true. However, doing what he did, he couldn't live in a glass house. Names and comments thrown at him through the years had given him a tough skin. He knew who and what he was. What others thought was of little consequence to him. They glared at each other for several moments before Brice gave up, let out a long sigh, and started his exploration again—eyes open and aimed at his moving hands. Dakota didn't find it hard to relax under the young man's touch, his smooth hands expertly investigating new territory. He was tempted to close his eyes and submit to the touch, but he'd been the one who demanded Brice keep his eyes open. So he watched through his lashes, his breath steady but his insides churning with turmoil as his body began to heat with desire. “Turn over.”

The sound of Brice's voice broke the silence, startling Dakota out from his lusty haze. “You said anywhere but your dick. So turn over,” Brice repeated when Dakota hesitated. “You're correct.” Dakota turned onto his stomach and propped his head on crossed arms. He swallowed a groan when Brice's hands began caressing, almost kneading, his ass cheeks. Heavens, when was the last time he'd indulged in a massage? So he relaxed, and for the first time in six months, he allowed himself to completely trust his body to another person. He didn't understand why, but being with Brice was peaceful to his soul. When those magic hands started to knead away some of the knots around his shoulders, Dakota let go of all thoughts, especially any that might hint at deeper emotions for the kid—deeper than he ever wanted to admit—to enjoy the sensation and the endorphins rushing through his system. “Hell on skates, Brice,” Dakota moaned. “I see why you're in such high demand in your profession.” “As you are in yours.” Dakota didn't respond to the comment. With the moment broken, his shoulders began to tense again, with stress slowly seeping back into his body. “That's enough, Brice.” Brice stopped his movements and let his hands slowly slide off Dakota's back. Neither spoke until Dakota finally rolled onto his side and looked at Brice. “We've completed the first three lessons, though a bit out of order, so it's time for lesson four. Penetration.” “What?” Brice's eyes widened in surprise.

Chapter Nine Brice stood up from the bed, his gaze landing on the few items that Dakota had retrieved earlier from the drawer. He hadn't noticed at the time what they were, as he was too busy admiring Dakota's body and itching to lay his hands on him. The word “penetration” echoed through his head as if it had been shouted out in a deep valley. He wanted Dakota. Hell, he ached for the man like he'd never wanted another being on the earth, but doubt tempered his previous excitement. He wasn't ready. Not for that. Not yet. Maybe not ever. Yet deep inside his brain, that little gremlin called a conscience berated him for lying to himself about that, and it fought for its right to vote on Brice's actions. Though the idea of Dakota's rock-hard dick thrusting into his ass had immense appeal, it quickly got shoved back into the shadows of his mind by the darkness of uncertainty. Shaking his head, Brice took a step back from the bed. “Look, Dakota, I'm—” “Hey,” Dakota interrupted him, propping himself on his elbows. “I'm not going to force you to do anything you're not ready to do. Besides, I was talking about me. If I'm the first guy you've ever kissed, I assume that you've never fingered or even touched another man in preparation for sex, right?” Damn! Brice suddenly felt silly for his assumption and felt his cheeks heat. Of course Dakota wouldn't make him do something he didn't want to do. That, he knew to be true. If Winnie felt she could trust Dakota enough to leave them alone together, Brice could trust him also.

Slowly, Brice nodded. Dakota sat up and patted the mattress next to him. “Come here. We'll go slow.” Brice's body felt as if it were on automatic as he climbed back onto the bed and sat next to Dakota. “If at any time you feel uncomfortable or don't want to do something I instruct, just let me know. Or, if you have an idea you'd like to try, just speak up. Okay?” His lips lifted into that smirk that sent blood straight to Brice's cock. “Sure. What's first?” “We prep both mentally and physically. It's obvious you've had sex with Winter. You know what gets her going, what she likes, wants, and when to do it.” Brice swallowed hard and gave a small nod. He and Winter had been having sex for a few years now. Of course he knew how to please her. “Foreplay is the key to great sex, no matter the sex of the other person.” “I know that.” Brice fidgeted. He couldn't help the anxiety and tension seeping into him at having this discussion with another man. Plus, all sorts of naughty images flashed in his mind, most of them pictures or activities he'd read in some gay-porn magazine. Only these visions all had Dakota in them. “This part also goes back to lesson two. Touching, in my opinion, is the best method to reach this level of arousal.” As if to accentuate his point, Dakota gently placed his hand on Brice's thigh, his fingertips tracing patterns on his skin. “It also relaxes your partner so that prepping him for your cock will be easier and more pleasant all around.” Brice shivered at Dakota's touch. “What about kissing?” He stared at Dakota's lips, wondering when he'd taste them again. “That works too.” Dakota's lips twitched, as if to smile.

Brice already knew this stuff. He wasn't a virgin to sex. Just sex with men. But he held his tongue. He pondered a moment, imagining how exquisite Dakota would look when he was sexually frustrated. Okay, that may not be a smart path to take. Why would he want to bite the hand that's feeding him? Then again, it might be fun to tease Dakota, at least just a little. Winter had put him in charge this weekend, so why couldn't he improvise some? “So I can start with a little kissing.” Brice braved the words as he moved closer to Dakota and lowered his head so their lips brushed. “Yes,” Dakota hissed. Swallowing the lump forming in his throat, Brice continued with the light kisses across Dakota's lips, cheeks, and jaw. Every time he stopped on Dakota's lips, they would part and allow their tongues to meet in a hesitant dance. Brice

automatically started to caress and stroke the wonderful muscles that he was becoming familiar with. “Kiss me,” Dakota whispered. “I am.” It was Brice's turn to smile like a Cheshire cat. Dakota growled, and Brice pulled back. He was right. In frustration, Dakota's eyes had darkened to almost black, holding more than just a gleam of lust. His expression was stiffer than when filled with desire. His jaw also twitched a couple of times as if he was clenching his teeth. “What?” Brice shook his head. He really wanted this man in such a wicked way. “Nothing.” His hands slid upward to frame Dakota's face. The man was beautiful. There were faint lines at the corners of his eyes, where his age was becoming apparent. Yet there was plenty of life left in this man. It readily shone through those unique dark green eyes. There was something else in them that

Brice couldn't quite comprehend. It made Brice think of a puzzle, one of a magnificent scene, but with a piece missing to make it complete. Dakota took the lead by lifting his hands to frame Brice's head before pulling him down again and kissing him deeper, longer, and with a fervent passion. Brice easily fell into the fog of desire. He wasn't sure how much time had passed, but he was dragged out of their make-out session when Dakota took a hand in his and dropped the tube of lube in his palm. Pulling back, chest heaving, and about to scream with sexual frustration, he was amazed how quickly Dakota had turned the tables on him. Brice looked down at the plastic, waiting for his mind to comprehend what it was. Dakota had lain on his back, towel gone. “Lie beside me.” Brice nodded and found it more difficult than he originally thought with his dick tenting the towel still on his waist and his movements jerky from excitement. Once he was settled on Dakota's right side, he popped the lid of the tube. “Just enough to get you started. You can always add more as you go along if it's needed,” Dakota said as he nipped at Brice's collarbone, sending shocks of tremors through his body. Brice couldn't speak, for the lump had returned to his throat. So he nodded and applied some of the clear lubricant onto two of his fingers. Dakota spread his legs and lifted his hips slightly to give him access. “Kiss me,” Brice begged as he caressed the tight hole of his lover. He hoped his shaking would stop so he could enjoy the experience. Lips joined once more, their bodies drifted closer. Dakota's hands tore at Brice's towel as fingers searched for his aching dick. Brice moaned as Dakota's sure grip found its target. He thought he'd come right then, but as if reading his mind, Dakota squeezed tightly on the base of his dick and managed to temper the urge.

“Do it,” Dakota ground out. Carefully, Brice inserted a finger into Dakota's ass. The muscles resisted at first but quickly relaxed around his finger as Dakota moaned with pleasure. He pulled back and stared into his lover's beautiful face. “More?” Brice wiggled his finger so it brushed against Dakota's prostate. Dakota bucked his hips twice and breathed out a yes. Feeling a rush of pleasure, Brice bent so he could tongue the tip of Dakota's cock as he slowly moved his finger in and out of his ass. He sucked a good amount of the length into his mouth just as he slipped another finger in. “Yes, Brice.” Dakota writhed. “Scissor your fingers. Stretch me. Help me get ready for your cock.” Brice trembled with excitement at those words. He yearned to fill Dakota. Gone was the apprehension, replaced by an insatiable need. He forced himself to slow down and do as Dakota instructed. As much as he longed to do this, he didn't want to cause harm to Dakota. He sucked Dakota's cock, experimenting with a few tongue strokes he hadn't tried earlier. All the while his fingers worked in and out of Dakota's body, mimicking what he wanted to do with his dick and preparing Dakota for the next step by slipping a third finger in and stretching him a little more. “Enough,” Dakota gasped and pushed Brice's head away. “Any more of that, and I'll explode.” Brice stopped his movements and smiled. “Isn't that the point of this?” Dakota let loose a low, succulent growl, shook his head, and moved so that Brice's fingers withdrew from him. “The point is for you to fuck me.” Dakota's crude words echoed in Brice's head as he watched his lover turn to his hands and knees, the ass beckoning him.

Dakota shivered in anticipation. As much as he hated his profession now, he couldn't help but feel almost giddy at the prospect of having Brice inside him. Yes, he'd initially told Winter no to actual intercourse like this, but there was something about Brice that was making him act out of character. There was no denying it; Dakota wanted Brice like he'd not wanted a person in some time. Looking over his shoulder, he locked gazes with Brice. “Waiting for a formal invitation?” “Fuck, Dakota.” Brice's face paled slightly. Dakota picked up a condom from where he'd laid it on the bed, and threw it at his weekend lover. “Now that's the idea.” When Brice still hesitated, he sighed. “I doubt either of us took a magic blue pill, so these woodies won't last for hours. It's not much different than poking a pussy. Just do it slower at first. Until I'm accustomed to your size.” The reality of the situation must have hit like a ton of bricks, because Brice's face flushed and he blinked rapidly, as if clearing fog from his mind. “Sorry,” Brice muttered as he grabbed the condom and began tearing into it. Dakota turned back and closed his eyes, trying not to laugh. He shouldn't enjoy giving the kid a hard time, but he found it amusing, in addition to the bit of twisted pleasure he felt at having subtly taken charge yet still appearing submissive. Brice's naïveté made topping from the bottom easy. Of course, Winter won't be happy once she learns of this, but tough shit. She wasn't here to stop him. “Dakota.” Brice's voice trembled after he rolled the condom onto his stiff, pulsating cock. “It's all right, Brice. Just don't rush.” His voice was softer now, his tone soothing and encouraging. He also pushed his ass closer to Brice in invitation. If Brice didn't take him soon and relieve this unyielding yearning, Dakota was

likely to turn the tables on Brice and seduce him into being the one getting fucked. He heard Brice let out a long breath and felt the tip of his dick touch his opening. Despite his body being relaxed, Dakota gasped when the head slid past the outer ring of muscle and stretched him. And he'd never felt anything better. “That's it.” He shifted back slightly to push Brice farther. “More.” “Tight,” Brice groaned. Dakota knew the moment Brice was balls-deep inside him. The pressure was a pleasurable pain, and fierce tremors fired through his body. “Fuck me, Brice,” he nearly begged through clenched teeth. “Hard. Pump me hard.” “I don't…want to…hell…oh…hurt you.” It was obvious that Brice was as much in need as he was. Dakota looked over his shoulder and found sweat beaded on the young man's brow, the veins in his neck straining. “I won't break. Promise.” Like a dam cracking under pressure, Brice began to move. At first his movements were jerky, but after the initial strokes, he found his rhythm. Dakota easily fell into a lust-induced haze as flames of pleasure continued to ripple through his veins. The feel of another filling him was mind-fuckingblowing, and soon waves of ecstasy rushed over the fire of desire. How had it never felt this gratifying before? His body trembled when hands gripped his hips as he was plowed into. “Hold tighter,” Dakota commanded as he used his right hand to grab hold of his own cock. It was swollen and near-bursting. Brice's balls were bouncing off his. All the different sensations streaming through his body intensified, intoxicating him. “Faster,” he urged. “Harder.”

Brice grunted but followed instructions. Control went out the window as Dakota pumped his cock in rhythm with Brice's thrusts and came all over the pretty sheets. With a triumphant cry, Brice followed him into orgasm and collapsed like a lump of logs on top of Dakota before wrapping his arms around him and rolling them over to their sides, both panting from exhaustion.

Chapter Ten “Have you ever dated a client?” Brice asked after they had lain together for some time. Dakota turned his head, and his eyes narrowed in on Brice. He didn't speak for several breaths. “Have you?” Brice lifted his head and propped it onto his hand as he lay on his side, facing Dakota. “Of course not. It's unethical in my line of work.” Dakota shrugged and turned onto his back, hands behind his head. “Same here.” Brice's brows lowered. “Massage therapists go by the same state laws as doctors and nurses. It's unethical to be so intimately involved with someone you're treating. Unless there's written bylaws for escorts, I don't think it's the same idea.” Dakota glanced at him before focusing back on the ceiling. “It's never a good idea to mix business with pleasure. It doesn't matter what profession you're in.” It made sense. Even a hired escort had to have lines that were not to be crossed too, right? Still, Dakota's reaction made Brice's stomach fill with apprehension at having to say good-bye when their time together was up. It was odd, this feeling. He couldn't remember having the same reaction to the thought of someone he'd known for so little time leaving. Despite the immediate attraction and the strong connection he was starting to feel, it couldn't be possible that he was actually developing feelings for the man hired to have sex with him, could it?

“So, have you?” Brice persisted, not wanting to dwell on his thoughts. Dakota let out a long breath and closed his eyes. Again, he didn't answer right away. “Been there, done that, and burned the fucking T-shirt, Brice. Not mixing my personal life with my profession was a lesson I learned the hard way.” “Did you love him?” “It was a she,” replied Dakota, correcting Brice's assumption. “But what does an eighteen-year-old know of love? Especially when she was a rich thirtyyear-old widow looking for a stud to show off.” His anger was unmistakable. Whoever this woman was, she had really hurt him. However, Brice didn't miss the fact that he'd shared the same age difference as the mysterious woman. Only this time Dakota was the older one and Brice the younger man. “I'm sorry.” What else could he say? Brice had yet to be bitten by the lovebug, thankfully. But that didn't mean he'd not been hurt by someone he'd loved in his life. Dakota opened his eyes and looked at Brice. “Ancient history. What do you say we get cleaned up? I saw extra sets of sheets in the bathroom too.” Seeing that the subject was changed, Brice nodded and stood up. What else were they to do? They were stranded in this warehouse until Winter returned. Might as well take advantage of its comforts.
Dakota rose from the bed and took Brice's hand so he could lead him into the bathroom. He didn't know why he'd disclosed information about his past. He hadn't thought of Ava in years. Brice, he was discovering, was easy to talk to and didn't appear to judge him for his career choice. How would it be to be with someone like that all the time? Someone who didn't care about his past and the things he'd done, who'd just concentrate on the present and the future?

But he was dreaming if he thought he'd ever find someone like that to love him. As he'd told Brice, he'd gone down that path once before and didn't want to retrace those steps ever again. The image of Ava threatened to come forward full force, to remind Dakota of that tragic experience. Pushing back the dismal thoughts that would accompany a trek down memory lane, Dakota started the shower. “Stay here,” he ordered Brice and retrieved the towels left out on the bed. Steam poured from the shower when he returned. “You can go first.” Brice nodded toward the shower stall and leaned back on the sink. Dakota's gaze wandered up and down that gorgeous young body, aching to nip at the tender skin. “It's big enough for two, Brice.” A smile smoothed over his lips. “Besides, it's my job to take care of my master, is it not?” Brice rolled his eyes, a cute gesture that made Dakota want to kiss their edges. Dakota stepped into the shower stall. “Your bath boy awaits, Master.” This made Brice laugh. Dakota was glad that he started to relax again. When they both stood in the shower, Dakota shut the door and dropped to his knees. “Dakota, what are you doing?” Brice backed up until he was against the wall. “Servicing my master.” Before Brice could protest, Dakota took him into his mouth. “Heaven in a handbag.” Brice groaned as his fingers dug into Dakota's scalp. Dakota silently chuckled at the expression while he began to show his lover how to really suck a dick. With a twirl of his tongue, Dakota flickered over that sensitive spot under the head that he'd found earlier, before relaxing his throat and taking the entire length in deep. He tried not to choke or show his

reactions as his mind finally processed that he'd essentially called Brice master twice in the span of two minutes. Hadn't he vowed not to address the younger man by that title when Winter departed? Jesus, he was really having some serious brain-fart moments and could feel his shields slipping further down. It took very little time for Brice to thrust his hips in rhythm with Dakota's sucking. “No, don't stop,” Brice pleaded when Dakota pulled away. “You're the most beautiful man whose cock I've ever had the pleasure to suck,” Dakota admitted truthfully, surprised at the words tumbling out of his mouth. No matter how many people he'd performed oral sex on, Brice was truly the sexiest being he'd come across. Since they were still playing the roles of master and slave, whether Brice believed the words was his prerogative. Brice's hands fisted in his hair. “Jesus, Dakota. Don't stop.” Dakota discovered one more thing he liked about Brice: the sound of his whimpers. How could he say no? With a groan, Dakota went back to pleasing his weekend lover. His hand found Brice's balls and gently massaged them until they grew taut and the dick in his mouth swelled larger. One finger slipped farther back and found the tight hole that he craved to invade. Gently, Dakota caressed the puckered skin in tantalizing circles. Not penetrating but teasing. “I'm… Oh fuck, Dakota. I'm going to come.” Creating a tighter suction, Dakota pressed his finger slightly into Brice's asshole. The next moment, he was swallowing cum shooting into the back of his throat like a water gun. He couldn't stop the moan of desire that rumbled in his throat. Nothing tasted as good as the results of a job well done. Slowly standing up, Dakota took the bar of soap in hand and started to clean Brice's limp, barely standing body. “You're amazing.”

Dakota shook his head but stopped before the words he'd said a thousand times before fell out of his mouth. Brice deserved better than the automatic “no, you're the amazing one,” even if this was the one time when it was true. Instead, he kept silent and leaned forward, kissing Brice lightly on the cheek before going back to sudsing his body. He made quick work of cleaning Brice and then himself. After drying off, they changed the bedsheets and lay together side by side. Several minutes went by in silence. It wasn't exactly uncomfortable, but Dakota found he still wanted to learn more about Brice. He knew it wasn't smart to get involved. In fact, it was idiotic. They had no future together. Once he left this warehouse, Brice would become just another client from his past. But until then, Dakota could indulge in one last fantasy, couldn't he? Flipping to his side to face Brice, Dakota propped his head on his hand. “Tell me, is the world blessed by having more like you? I mean, siblings that are just as gorgeous.” “I'm not that big of a deal. Just a normal guy.” Brice turned in an identical fashion to face Dakota. Only five inches separated them now. “Sorry, no other Delcos running around. I'm an only child.” “Pity.” “Not really. It saved another person a lot of grief.” This caught Dakota's attention, as did Brice's blank expression and the angry tone that resonated in his words. “Trouble on the home front, huh?” “Family's not really a good subject for me to talk about.” Brice turned onto his back again, hands resting on his stomach, and gazed up at the ceiling. “You know, it helps if you talk about it.” Dakota reached out and touched Brice's shoulder. When he didn't flinch or pull away, Dakota let his fingers roam down his arm, taking in the smoothly shaped muscles, then back up before moving on to his chest.

“There's nothing worth talking about.” “From your reaction, I'd say there is.” Dakota kept his tone light, with a tinge of amusement, hoping Brice wouldn't become defensive. What family skeleton did this young man have that made him so angry? “I believe you were paid for sex, not a therapy session,” Brice bit out. Dakota was surprised when those words actually hurt him. He'd learned years ago that in this business, his emotions couldn't be made of porcelain. However, they could be protected. Still, it was a bit of a shock when a dull ache settled in his chest; he suddenly felt as if he were sixteen again, when the verbal abuse was at its worst. “You're correct. I spoke out of turn, Master. It won't happen again.” Dakota spoke the word “master” with venom as he rose from the bed and started to clear the table of their dishes. Now was not the time to get into the specifics of escort philosophy and how there were underlying reasons a person hired one. But then, he'd been hired by Winter exclusively for sex with Brice, to ease him into being intimate with a man. Old, familiar walls slammed back into place. He was stupid to forget that Brice was just another client and not that special someone he'd looked for most of his life. When would he learn that he just wasn't meant to have the kind of love that many of his friends shared? This sharp reminder only reinforced his belief that he was doing the right thing by moving out to his cabin and cutting himself off from this way of life once and for all. “Dakota?” The way Brice said his name made him pause from washing the plate in his hand, but not enough to look at him. “Yes?” “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so cruel.” “I'm but a sex slave for a few hours. You have every right to say what you wish to me.” Dakota continued with the dishes. All his emotions were locked back deep inside, protected by the expressionless shield set in place. He'd done

it countless times with previous clients. Why should now be any different? Getting involved with Brice was a bad idea. Couldn't be done. There were too many complications. Too much past to Dakota's life. The slew of curses that flew out of Brice's mouth would've made the hardest sailor proud. Dakota dropped the glass in his hand, it shattering in the sink, when he felt hands on his shoulders, turning him around. Dakota opened his mouth to protest, but nothing came out when he saw the venomous look on Brice's face. “To hell with this game.” Brice reached up, tore the collar from Dakota's throat, and threw it across the room. “I don't want a fucking slave. I want you.” Brice's lips crashed onto Dakota's, and his tongue shoved its way into Dakota's shocked mouth.

Chapter Eleven Brice was stunned at his actions, but he wouldn't stop. He couldn't. Dakota's essence had somehow seeped into his soul in the very short time of their acquaintance. He didn't believe in love at first sight, but he sure as hell wouldn't deny being drawn to the man. It took Dakota only a second to respond to his kiss. His hands slipped to Brice's shoulders, where his fingers dug in hard. Brice moaned and pressed his body, cock hard again, into his lover. Not his hired sex slave. Not his weekend whore. His lover. Dakota saying that he was nothing but a hired sex slave rocked Brice into reality. The words sent shards of anger into him. Brice hated himself for snapping at Dakota. He'd been callous with his words. Yes, Dakota had an unconventional profession, but that didn't mean he could be treated like a scummy whore Brice had picked up off the street. The man had feelings, was a person, not a thing. Dakota had been nothing but kind and patient with him. This wasn't how Brice should repay the man. Of course, Dakota was now spiking the lust still boiling away inside, about to overflow. Brice wanted this man more than he'd ever wanted another being. Thoughts of Dakota filling his body, possessing him, flashed through his mind. But Brice knew he wasn't ready to go that far. So he'd settle for what he was ready for. Breaking the kiss by pulling back, Brice dropped to his knees, and without hesitation, he sucked Dakota's stiffened dick into his mouth. “Holy fucking mother!” Dakota cried with a moan. “What a mouth!”

The compliment egged Brice on, giving him the confidence to continue. He found that he truly enjoyed sucking off Dakota. He also briefly pondered if he should've gotten that tongue piercing Winter had nagged him to get a month ago. She could do some incredibly wicked things with her piercing. Brice reached up and caressed Dakota's balls, one finger slipping back to touch his puckered anus, the same as had been done to him in the shower. “Brice.” His name was said with awe and praise. No one had ever used that tone before. The high he felt was fan-fucking-tabulous. Dakota climaxed with little warning, squirting hard into Brice's mouth, the liquid sliding smoothly down his throat. “I have no more to teach you, kid,” Dakota said when he caught his breath. Brice moved away, wiped his mouth, and chuckled. “I doubt that. But I'm glad you liked it.” Silence fell between them, and Brice could feel the tension from before begin to resettle. “I really am sorry, Dakota. I spoke out of turn. I've never been clearheaded when it comes to talking about my family.” “I can relate.” Dakota turned to the forgotten mess in the sink and sighed. “I struggled with my own demons for a long time.” Brice stood and withheld a groan. The floor was hard on his knees. “Past tense?” Dakota shrugged and began to pick pieces of glass from the sink. “I guess. I've just learned that you can't change the past. Can't change where you come from, as most of whatever happened there was beyond your control when you were a child.” He dumped some of the shards of glass into the trash can. “Can you honestly say that you could have actually made a difference?”

Brice studied Dakota and took a moment to seriously think about his past. He finally shrugged. “I'm not sure, but I sometimes wonder, if I'd just said something sooner, would my life have turned out any different?” “Possibly, but we'll never know, right?” He let out a soft sigh. Dakota was unnervingly correct. “I won't push you to talk about it.” Dakota finished cleaning up the last pieces of glass from the sink before continuing to wash the remaining dishes. “However, just know that no one has a perfect family. Skeletons litter everyone's closet.” “I'd be naive if I thought that.” Brice hesitated before speaking again. “So, are we good?” Dakota dried his hands on a dish towel, nodded, and smiled. “After a blowjob like that? Of course we're good.” Brice laughed, finally feeling the tension lift. “A good orgasm does wonders for the psyche.” “I think that was supposed to be my line.” “You snooze, you lose.” “Speaking of snoozing…” Dakota's brow lifted.

Chapter Twelve Dakota studied the sleeping man he held in his arms. Their time together seemed to have flown by after their discussion of family problems. A silent agreement to stay away from that subject was made, and other topics were discussed. Surprisingly, despite their twelve-year age difference, he and Brice had more in common than he'd thought possible. Dakota had used the probability of them having nothing to talk about as an excuse to talk himself out of the deeper feelings he had begun to have for Brice. But he found it a great comfort to know that they were able to actually connect beyond the physical act of sex. With similar tastes in classical music, a love for home-cooked meals, and each being a religious viewer of Bones, there was plenty conversation to be had when they weren't having sex. Ah, sex with Brice. The intense orgasmic releases they'd experienced together still had Dakota's mind reeling. Even though he didn't think he could come again, just thinking about foreplay with Brice made his cock twitch with anticipation. Brice had been open to all aspects of sex with Dakota, with the exception of a dick actually entering his body. However, Dakota couldn't forget the look of need on Brice's face when he'd begged to have a finger up his ass, to give him a taste of anal intercourse. The experience had been a prebreakfast treat. He swallowed the groan in his throat when the memory came back to him. “Please, Dakota. Just one finger. Let me feel you that way,” Brice pleaded as Dakota gazed up at his lover.

He pulled back from sucking Brice's balls. “Are you sure?” Brice nodded. “We do this my way, then.” Dakota was already reaching to open the supply drawer, searching for the Anal Eaze. “Will you keep sucking me?” Dakota smiled. “It's the best way to experience this.” Brice's enthusiasm spurred him on. How long had it been since he'd seen this kind of sincerity? Brice was tight. So tight that Dakota wanted badly to slip his cock into the delectable hole just to feel that tautness around him. Reining in control, he resisted the compulsion and concentrated on giving Brice the best experience he could. And if his screams of pleasure were any indication, he was pretty damned pleased. Which was part of the problem. Dakota found that he really liked Brice. His innocence, temperament, and handsome features combined drew him to the younger man. But every moment when he felt himself falling—even just a little bit—he reminded himself that it would never work, so he strove to keep his emotions in check. He was a lot older than Brice, and no one would ever put up with the kind of past he had, with the things he'd done in his life. Who in their right mind would bring home a partner who was once a male escort? Paid to be a date or to have sex? Not to mention what he'd done before MD had come into his life. No respectable human would want to be associated with that kind of person. If anything, he'd learned that from Ava. Being damaged goods wasn't exactly an ideal prospect for a lasting relationship. There would be too many repercussions for Brice. It wasn't fair to put the guy through all that. The door that led into this little haven of pleasure, opening and then softly closing, dragged Dakota from his sullen thoughts. He didn't move; he wanted just a few more moments to gaze at his lover while he slept. “You topped him.” Winter made the observation as she sat at the foot of the bed near Dakota.

He shrugged one shoulder. “How do you teach without leading? It was the natural course of events.” He spoke quietly so he didn't wake his sleeping lover. “Besides, I think the kid does his best in a submissive role in bed.” Winter nodded slightly, then gazed at Brice. “I have to agree there. But he's a stubborn man when he truly wants something.” Remembering the blowjob in the kitchen made Dakota smile. “He is.” The silence between them rang loud in his ears. “So, you're really moving?” Her words were soft, yet he could hear the sadness in them. “Yes.” His smile faded. “Will you visit?” “I'll only be about an hour away. Besides, how can I live without the occasional slice of delectable cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory? I've also given your father an open invite up to the cabin.” Winter chuckled. “Dad in the country? Not likely. That's like putting a goldfish in a bowl of piranhas.” “Yeah, he told me about the one time he tried camping. I think he'll always be a city boy.” Dakota's smile returned when he thought of how Master Diggs described the horrific weekend he'd spent camping in the mountains with Winter's mother. Poison ivy, run-ins with the wildlife, and a wild tale about using the bathroom in the woods all had MD running for concrete heaven and vowing never to enter the woods again. “But I'll come visit.” “Good.” Sensing that his time was up, Dakota carefully untangled his body from Brice's, who groaned and shifted position before settling back into sleep. The poor guy was exhausted. “He sleeps like a rock.” Winter lightly smiled at Brice. It was clear that she cared for him deeply. “Did he have fun?”

“I like to think so.” Dakota went to the kitchen and filled a glass with water to drink. Winter followed. “Did you have fun?” Dakota eyed her for a moment before he responded. “This was all a setup, wasn't it? You leaving us alone?” She had the grace to blush. “My intentions were for Brice. I'd wanted to use one of Dad's employees for some time. It was Dad who insisted I wait and that it be you.” “Which is why he called you away.” She huffed. “Yeah. I missed all the good stuff. I truly regret not having set a camera in here beforehand.” He laughed and brushed the loose strand of hair from her face. “I'm sure your BFF will tell you all about it.” “He better.” Her lips turned down into a pout before returning to her peppy self. “Your clothes and things are on the table. Daddy says the movers are coming early in the morning. I'm sure you have last-minute packing to do.” “In fact, I do. Thanks.” He went to the table and began to dress, Winter's gaze almost boring a hole into him, but he ignored her stare. Once dressed, he picked up his car keys and cell phone, ready to leave. “Aren't you going to say good-bye to him?” she asked. Dakota shook his head but turned to look one last time at the sleeping man on the bed. His chest ached, and he felt nauseated. He wasn't quite finished with Brice, but this was for the best. A day or two from now, and this would be out of sight, out of mind. “I'll let you say good-bye for me.” He gave Winter a quick hug and kiss and started for the door before stopping after a couple of steps. “One question.” “Yes?” She stepped closer. “Does he know that I work for your father?”

Marty Rayne
Her eyes widened slightly, not expecting the question. She shook her head. “No. He doesn't even know that my father owns Desires, Inc.” “Keep it that way, okay?” Confusion settled into her expression, but she nodded. “All right.” “Call me when you want to come up,” Dakota said as he walked out of the warehouse.

Chapter Thirteen “Have you even showered today?” The disgust in her expression was obvious. Brice shrugged, not even turning his gaze to where Winter stood next to the couch. “Wasn't going anywhere today.” He kept his eyes focused on the laptop's ever-changing screen saver. “Ugh. What happened to my neat-freak, ultraorganized Brice?” From the corner of his eye, Brice saw her kick at a couple of pieces of garbage and thrown-about clothes so she could take a step. He knew his small apartment was a mess, but he just hadn't felt much like cleaning lately. Actually, he hadn't felt like doing much of anything except work, which kept his mind off other things—or people. “I can't believe you're still moping after two weeks. Is this still about Dakota not waking you up before he left?” Oh, that had pissed him off, waking up in Winter's playhouse to find that Dakota was long gone, without so much as a good-bye, kiss my ass, or fuck you. It really shouldn't have surprised him, but Brice had thought—hoped— that perhaps their time together had meant something to the man. Something that merited a proper farewell, at least. Or maybe an exchange of e-mail addresses or phone numbers. Okay, that was being ludicrous, he knew, but he couldn't help how he felt. Somewhere during their twenty-four hours together, he'd managed to fall in love with Dakota Knight. A professional escort who wouldn't have given him the time of day if Winter hadn't paid for his services.

“I'm not moping. I've picked up some extra clients while Andy's wife is having their baby and taking a little maternity leave. I'm tired.” “Yeah, and work is all you've been doing,” she said, finally making her way to the other side of the couch to plop down beside him. Picking up a smelly shirt from the armrest with two fingers, she flung it across the room. “That's really gross. Seriously, Brice, you've got to get out of this slump. It's not good for your mental health—or mine. I miss my friend.” Brice let out a long sigh. “I'm sorry, Winnie. I don't mean to be a drag. I just… Well, I'm not sure… Hell, I don't know anymore.” His head fell into his hands, and he closed his eyes. Winter rubbed his back. “Wow. I didn't realize you had it so bad. Who would've guessed?” “What are you talking about?” Brice tensed and feigned ignorance. “Don't play dumbhole with me. At first I thought it was just lust and your wanting to play more with him. But this…” He looked up just as she flung her arm out, motioning to his entire apartment. “This is more than just sex.” “This has nothing to do with Dakota or sex. I've just been busy,” he objected and pushed himself off the couch. Not really knowing what else to do, he started to pick up the garbage that lay around him. Damn, the place was a pigsty. “Pish posh. You're in love with Dakota.” What he'd refused to admit verbally was now out in the air, and he physically cringed. Winter was too blunt for her own good. “It's not unexpected, really. A lot of people fall for their first hump buddy. Mine was Tommy Shepard during the summer after ninth grade.” She made a growling noise. “Man, was he a hottie. That blond hair and those gorgeous blue eyes.” She sighed and fluttered her eyelashes. “He was to be a senior that year, and his bod was tight.” “Winnie.” Brice tried to interrupt her, but she was on a roll.

“Oh, he said all the right things, made my flaws sound beautiful. Now that guy was a true charmer. And when I finally said yes, the sex…” She sighed. “The sex was H-O-T. No one has ever done to me what Tommy's tongue—” “Winter!” Brice yelled. He couldn't listen to anymore, as every word made him think of Dakota and made the invisible hole left in his chest after his weekend lover had abandoned him tear further open. Wait! Abandoned? No, he reminded himself. The job was done. His time was up, that's all. Her eyes widened, and her lips formed an O, but at least she'd quit talking. He continued to pick up the mess in silence. He hoped if he ignored her, she'd leave. He couldn't have been more wrong. “He moved.” Brice sighed. “I know.” Silence. “He's not working as an escort anymore.” He ground his teeth and counted to five before he spoke. “Moved on to greener pastures, I'm sure.” More silence as he dumped a pile of dirty clothes on a chair. “I know where he lives.” Brice turned and glared at her. “Why are you doing this, Winnie? Are you amused with this torture?” His anger finally emerged in the form of words, though it was aimed at the wrong person. “You've had your fun. I've been with another man, and it was the best experience in my life. So what if I managed to develop feelings for my first, who happened to be a professional escort? A man paid to have sex with me. Nothing will come of it, and I'll live. I was just another client. Now, stay the fuck out of my sex life.” He knew his words hurt her feelings, but he couldn't stop them from spilling out of his mouth. He was fed up with how Dakota had affected him, and just wanted to move on. Though he was perplexed as to how.

Winter stared at Brice for a moment, her expression blank. Brice expected an angry outburst to match his, but she appeared to be calm, almost serene. She shook her head slowly before moving to the counter where his phone lay. “Everything I did was with good intentions, Brice. I get no enjoyment from your pain. You're my best friend. I hurt you, I hurt myself. I was just trying to help.” As she spoke, she used the pen next to the phone to write something on the tablet that he used to jot down messages. She tore the top page off, folded it in half, and walked over to where Brice stood. “I love you, Brice.” She took his hand in hers and laid the folded paper in his palm. “When you're ready, you'll need this.” With a quick kiss on the lips, she strode out of his apartment without a glance back, leaving behind a very confused Brice.

Chapter Fourteen Brice checked the GPS unit again as he drove along a small, barely there dirt road. He still couldn't believe he was doing this. He'd worked out a speech, but it sounded cheesy. However, he couldn't just walk up and say, Hi. Let's fuck and then have a relationship. Yeah, that would really convince Dakota. It had taken Brice almost another two weeks before he looked up the address Winter had left with him. It had also been that long since he'd laid eyes on his best friend. She'd insisted that until he decided on a path, she would make herself scarce. He sighed when the road ended at an opening in the forest, a log cabin directly in the middle of the clearing. His relief was short-lived, as his muscles tensed to the point where he thought they would break in half, while his stomach churned with nervousness. Brice's body wouldn't move once the car was in park and the engine was turned off. His hands trembled, and he started to breathe a little faster. As eager as he was to see Dakota again, Brice suddenly found himself reluctant to leave the safe haven of his car. I drove all this way… How can I chicken out now? His head fell against the headrest with a thump, and he closed his eyes. I could start the engine and drive away. What's so special about me that would attract a man like Dakota? He sat in his car a couple of minutes more and tried to come up with a better reason to leave than to stay, but he kept remembering how shitty the past month had been. He'd never know what Dakota thought until he asked.

Marty Rayne
Gathering what courage he could muster, Brice got out of the car and started to walk toward the log cabin. He hesitated only a moment before knocking on the door. He didn't have to wait long for the door to open, and when it did, he got one hell of a surprise. Dakota didn't answer the door. Instead, a woman stood before him. A great-looking older woman. Flaming red hair was piled on top of her head, and her makeup was applied a little too dark for her age. However, it fit with the costume she wore. Brice swallowed hard as his eyes wandered down. The woman was wearing a black leather corset that pressed her breasts so high up, they nearly fell out over the top, a vision close to obscene. It enhanced her slim waist and stopped just above a skimpy pair of black panties. Then there was the matching garter and stockings that ended in three-inch come-fuck-me heels. To complete the seductive outfit was a see-through wrap, left open. She was clearly dressed to seduce. “Can I help you?” Her voice was lower than he expected it to be. A bit on the gruff side for a woman. “Oh…um… I was looking for Dakota Knight. This is his home, correct?” The woman leaned against the door frame in a provocative manner. If Brice had been open to anyone besides Dakota, he might possibly have turned an interested eye on her. “Yes, it is.” She smiled. “However, he's a bit…um…tied up at the moment.” She bit her bottom lip as if amused by her pun. “I'll let him know you stopped by. Any specific message?” The tone of her words caused all sorts of images to pop into Brice's head. Was she using the term “tied up” literally or figuratively? Studying this woman, Brice found it hard to believe that Dakota would actually be with someone like her. Even if he decided to be with a woman, Brice couldn't imagine this type of person holding Dakota's interest or matching his personality.

Who was he kidding? Did he really know Dakota enough to judge who he'd date? Swallowing the lump in his throat, Brice tried to keep the disappointment from squeaking into his voice. “Just tell him that Brice stopped by.” With trembling hands, he dug into his back pocket and withdrew his wallet. He managed to retrieve a business card and hold it out toward her. “He can contact me at that number.” He noticed how she hesitated to take the card as her smile slightly faltered. But when she did take it, she took the time to read it too. “Masseur, huh? You do happy endings too?” Blood rushed to Brice's face, but he didn't look away as anger quickly seeped in. He hated how his profession was linked so closely to those shady, illegal massage parlors of ill repute. “No. Will you please make sure he knows I stopped by?” He wasn't about to explain the difference between the old meaning of masseur and a professional massage therapist. “Sure thing, honey. Just as soon as he's lucid.” Her wicked smile returned, as if she had a secret. Not able to take any more of the images her references conjured in his mind, he shuddered, thanked her, and walked back to his car. His thoughts ran wild. Winnie had eagerly informed him that Dakota was very much single, and he was positive from their discussions a month ago that Dakota had quit the escort profession. So was Winnie wrong? Was that woman his new squeeze? Was he really tied up and playing bondage games inside with her? Or maybe he'd gone into business for himself? Brice had so many questions, but he wouldn't know the answers until he spoke with Dakota. If he ever talked to him again. Brice was so into his thoughts that he didn't hear the SUV pull up and park next to the cabin.

“Brice?” Dakota hopped out of his SUV just as Brice was about to get into his car. Brice appeared startled. “What are you doing here?” Dakota forgot about his groceries as he quickly strode toward the man who'd been occupying his thoughts since he'd left town. “Dakota?” Brice looked confused. He stopped a few feet away, not sure how to greet his last client. A hug was too intimate, but a handshake was too formal. Talk about an awkward moment. What he really wanted to do was gather Brice into his arms and kiss him until they were both naked and ready to fuck like bunnies. “I thought that… Well…she said—” “What are you babbling about, Brice? How did you know where I live?” Confusion and agitation were clearly written all over Brice when he slammed the car door and shoved his hands through his short hair. “Winnie,” he sighed. “She gave me your address. But then she said that you were tied up. I mean, implied that you were busy. But you weren't even here, were you?” Now it was Dakota's turn to be baffled. He got the part about Winter giving Brice his address. That was no surprise. She'd been a thorn in his side since he'd left the city. He'd turned off his satellite phone but soon gave up when she'd left him a multitude of messages, wanting to talk to him. He found it easier to just let her talk about nothing in particular, because then she wouldn't call a hundred times a day. It didn't escape his notice either that she let things slip about Brice in those conversations. He'd tried not to let his interest show, glad she couldn't hear the way his heart raced at the mention of Brice's name or how he ached to hear more about him. “Slow down, kid.” His hand instinctively went to Brice's arm. “She? Who told you I was, um, busy? Winter?” “Your girlfriend.” He nodded toward the house. “Or that's what she implied.”

Dakota's body tensed. He didn't have a girlfriend. Hell, the only people he'd spoken with since leaving the city were men, with the exception of Winter. But that wasn't the she Brice was talking about, since Brice didn't know who this mysterious woman inside his cabin was. “What does she look like?” He eyed the front windows. The shades were closed, just as he'd left them. “You're asking me what the woman in your house looks like?” Dakota ground his teeth and nodded, deciding to ignore Brice's disbelief. “An older woman. Bright red hair and a lascivious body for a woman of her age.” Dakota knew exactly who it was by that bare description. Only one of his ex-clients would be bold enough to attempt this. He softly cursed. “I don't want to interrupt. I left my card. I just thought—” Dakota interrupted him by grabbing his hand and towing him toward the house. “No. You aren't leaving.” Strange. Just today he'd had thoughts of driving down the mountain and begging Winter to tell him how to get in touch with Brice. It amazed him how much it had hurt to walk away from the younger man. To not say good-bye. The thought of never seeing his handsome, boyish face again was sheer agony every passing day. And of never hearing his voice or enjoying the way his body went lax against him after an orgasm. Not to mention when Brice let out that sigh that sent shivers of a different kind of pleasure through his body. There were plenty of reasons they shouldn't be together, but those were another issue in themselves, one he'd deal with after he took care of Marlo. “Marlo!” he shouted as he barged into the cabin. “Yes, lover?” She leaned against the door frame of his bedroom as if she were posing for a photo shoot. Her eyes flickered to Brice and widened slightly before focusing on him again, a smile curving her crimson-stained lips.

Dakota saw red. She'd invaded his home without permission, thought she could bring her twisted games here to his safe haven. “How did you find me?” he asked through clenched teeth. Behind him he heard Brice whimper slightly, and Dakota realized he was grasping his hand too hard. He let up on the pressure but refused to release the warm lifeline. “You are a difficult man to find. But with enough money, one can find anyone. Who knew that Knight was your real name?” She chuckled and started to sashay across the living room. “Thought it was just a working name. Guess I should've checked that first and saved myself some time.” “What are you doing here, Marlo?” Dakota's body shook with anger. How dare she think that he wanted more of her games! It was all he could do to keep from verbally attacking her and physically kicking her ass out of his house. “I missed you, my kandy kane. I thought that we could work out an agreement. Really, how bored you must be in this supposed retirement.” Her red-painted lips turned into a pout, but they did nothing but repulse Dakota. “Then again, I never realized you'd like to bring another player into the game.” He growled but tried to keep his emotions under control. “You paid for my services to play your games, but those days are over. You're no longer my client. Go and find some other poor sucker to be your whipping boy.” Her seductive expression turned to one of shock. Dakota couldn't believe that she would actually think he still wanted to play with her. Of all his clients, Marlo was the most insensitive and got off on as much humiliation—and sometimes pain—as she could cause. “No one—” Dakota quickly interrupted her. “Forget this place. Forget me. I want nothing to do with you. I'm no longer your slut to order around. You will never make contact with me again. Do you understand me, Marlo?”

His tone was harsh, but he knew the type of person she was. Though she was a dominant in the bedroom, she succumbed easily to men in real life. She crossed her arms over her chest and widened her stance. Only her eyes showed uncertainty. “And if I don't?” Dakota let a menacing smile cross his lips. “Your game of dominance is over, Marlo. This player has quit forever. If you don't leave right now, I'm sure a certain senator and the local police would be very interested in a letter of confession that is accidentally sent out to them. Perhaps pictures too.” He ignored the soft gasp behind him, his stare focused on a shocked Marlo. “You wouldn't.” “Payback is a bitch, Marlo. You, of all people, have taught me that.” His left brow arched. “Along with how to protect myself from people like you.” “Bastard.” Dakota shrugged. “I've been called worse. Now if you'd leave, I'd like to enjoy the presence of my invited guest.” He watched her fidget, her stare shooting to Brice and then back to him. Panic etched her expression, but Dakota couldn't feel sorry for her. She'd been a sadistic client and really didn't deserve this much kindness from him. “How can I trust you?” she asked as she snatched the long coat from the back of the couch. “I've kept the letter this long. Stay out of my life, and your secret will continue to be just that—a secret.” Marlo grabbed a bag from the couch but hesitated. “I really thought that we had something. That you and I…” A tear actually fell down her cheek. Dakota's expression remained hard. “For the money you paid me, I made sure my performance was perfect. Now, go home to your husband.” This last word came out as a tired sigh.

She looked to the bedroom, turned to Brice, then let out a long sigh. “All good things must end. Let's hope you still have many good years left in you.” Her expression turned to stone, unreadable. “If I hear one whisper, our games will look like child's play, and you'll beg for a quick death.” Dakota felt a burden lift from his shoulders when she walked out of his home and his life. Forever, he hoped.

Chapter Fifteen “Uh, Dakota? My hand?” Brice managed to squeak out when the pressure tightened again. “Oh, sorry,” Dakota mumbled and let go. “So, she was one of your clients? Not a girlfriend?” Brice rubbed his nowfree hand, trying to get some feeling into it again. He'd endured the pressure during Dakota's confrontation because that woman really scared him. Dakota made a strange noise that resembled a grunt and nodded but said nothing more. They stood there in silence, staring at one another. Now that he was actually here in front of Dakota, he hadn't a clue how to start. The speech he'd worked out on the way up the mountain vanished from his memory. “So, Winter told you where I lived?” Dakota broke the silence, which had begun to get heavy, almost suffocating. Brice shifted his stance. “Yeah. She thought it would do me good to come and see you.” This caused Dakota's brow to rise in question. “Actually, she refused to see me again until I did something about my mope-age, as she called it. I told her I was fine. That everything was fine, but she wouldn't listen. Just because I worked more than usual and didn't feel like cleaning my apartment, she got it in her head that I was depressed because of you. I mean, really. I barely know you. Yeah, we had sex. Great sex, by the way. Wait, no, the best I'd ever had, but that's beside the point. She's completely driving me insane. So…” Brice stopped. God, he'd babbled. His

mouth had run a mile a minute about whatever it wanted. He expected a look of revulsion, one similar to how Dakota looked at Marlo, but found instead an amused smile and a soft expression. Before Brice uttered another word, Dakota held up his hand. “Stay right here. I'll be right back.” Brice watched him walk out the door, bewildered. It was only a couple of minutes before Dakota came back in with an armful of brown grocery bags. Brice immediately jumped into motion, taking a bag from Dakota and closing the door behind them. He stopped a moment and watched Dakota place the remaining bags on the counter in the kitchen. He felt a sense of rightness about all this, an easy domestic feeling. Could a relationship with Dakota really be just the thing he needed in his life? Shaking his head and the feeling away, he placed his bag onto the counter with the others. “I'm sorry about leaving without saying good-bye to you.” Dakota started to unpack the nearest bag, not looking up at Brice. “I was an ass.” Brice leaned against the counter. “Yeah. I wasn't in the best of moods after I woke up.” That was putting it mildly. He'd been downright pissed and cursed himself for ever knowing Winter and Dakota. Then he'd felt the rejection and hurt, as if what they'd done together meant nothing. Logic told him that he was being a turdhead, that he was just another of Dakota's many clients, but his heart knew that a connection had been made during their short time together. He watched Dakota put away more of the groceries for a few more moments. Silence ensued. Though it was stressed, it was not uncomfortable. “So, is that the reason you came all the way up here? To chew my ass?” Chew his ass. Mmm, now that was a delicious thought. “Not really.” Brice shifted, becoming uncomfortable, unsure how to go about this now. He still couldn't remember his carefully planned speech. “I…um…just wanted to see you. Talk with you.”

Dakota stopped what he was doing and leaned on the counter across from Brice, his brows raised in question. Brice wiped his sweaty palms on his pants before thrusting them through his hair. Damn, why'd he have to suddenly feel so nervous? “Look, here's the deal.” Just blurt it out. Best solution. Then wait for the rejection. “I know Winnie hired you to be with me. To be my first. It was great. God, it was the best.” Brice could feel the babble start. “But I wanted to see you again to see if that spark was still there.” “Spark?” Dakota pushed off the counter but didn't step away. “When we were together, I felt…well, a connection. Something that went deeper than the sex. I needed to know if it was one-sided, or if perhaps…” His voice dropped off, unable to finish his thoughts as strongly as he'd started. He stared at Dakota, breath held in his lungs, prepared for the worst.
Dakota's knuckles turned white from gripping the counter's edge. If the kid only knew the emotional turmoil he'd gone through since walking out of that warehouse. It was during Winter's many nagging phone calls that he'd decided to stand firmly behind his decision to leave Brice be. That was until his moment of doubt earlier that day. He shook his head. “That time with you was amazing, Brice. I've never had another client who was as eager, willing, and trusting as you. You're many things I'd look for in a lover. In fact, it's taking all my control right now to not throw you on the couch and kiss you senseless before thoroughly fucking your brains out and showing you how it really feels to be completely satisfied.” Brice's body visibly shuddered, showing Dakota the effect of his words. “I like you. I really do. But it just can't work.” How he'd gotten that last sentence past the lump in his throat, Dakota hadn't a clue. The hurt glazed over Brice's eyes. Instead of facing it, Dakota picked up where he left off, putting away the last few groceries he'd bought.

“Why not?” He should've expected it, but the question made him pause. “There are lots of reasons.” He tried to put it off with a casual shrug. “Name one,” Brice demanded. Slipping the last container of yogurt onto a shelf, Dakota closed the refrigerator but still didn't turn around. “We live forty-five minutes apart.” “Bullshit. Give me a good reason. One that's actually plausible.” Dakota finally turned to face Brice and then wished he hadn't. Brice had moved around the counter and into the kitchen. His arms were folded over his chest, stretching his red T-shirt tightly over his muscles. His eyes shimmered with determination and stubbornness. Damn him for making this more difficult than it had to be. “All right. How about the twelve-year age difference between us? That's an entire generation. There's no way we can see things eye to eye. And you're just a kid with a lot of life ahead of you. An entire future to plan.” Brice laughed. “That's complete bullshit, and you know it. Do you really think I'd let age come between me and someone I wanted to be with? That type of relationship happens all the time. You have to know that Winter's dad was fifteen years older than her mother.” “Speaking of your BFF, do you have any idea how I know her and her father, or even what her father does for a living?” Dakota's mouth ran without thought. He'd asked Winter to not tell Brice about his connection to her family, and he didn't want to mess things up between the two friends. But perhaps if Brice had more insight, it would be easier…and better, for him to walk away. “Does it matter?” Brice's brows creased closer in confusion at the abrupt change of their conversation's direction. “What? It's never come up in the years you've known her? I'm sure you've met her father. What did she tell you about him?” Brice shook his head. “I don't—”

“What does he do for a living?” Dakota interrupted. “He's a businessman?” Brice shrugged. “I've never really cared. He's a nice guy. Eccentric, but he's pretty cool to be around.” Dakota nodded. “And what did Winter tell you about me and how I know them?” “It doesn't matter, Dakota. Can't you see that it doesn't bother me that you were an escort? You're retired, no longer doing that.” Dakota let out a long breath of frustration. “Stubborn fool,” he muttered and shook his head. He looked Brice in the eyes and spoke. “Winter's father is a businessman. Just not the kind you think. He owns Desires, Inc. It's a very successful escort service.” He paused to let the words sink in. “He was my employer. I've worked for Winter's father, who goes by the name Master Diggs, since I was eighteen years old.” Silence hung in the air, and Dakota could see that his words were finally taking hold. Not wanting to see all the emotions flying across Brice's face, Dakota turned and started to fold the paper bags. Busy work. “Wow. I should have realized sooner. There were comments that Winnie would make about…um…sex…and she knew so much. I guess I probably just didn't want to see it and ignored the signs.” Dakota stopped folding bags when Brice's hand fell on his shoulder. “What's that got to do with us?” Dakota ground his teeth. Damn, he wanted to pull that man into his arms and taste him again. He shrugged off the touch to avoid the delicious temptation that Brice held. “Stubborn and daft, kid,” he mumbled. “That thing today with Marlo? It probably won't be the last time something like that happens with another of my past clients. My regulars weren't at all happy that I was leaving the business, and they have the money to pull the same shit Marlo did. Do you not understand the problems this will cause you? What if we're out in public and a

previous client happens to come along? Do you really think they'll just pass me by? I've never been someone people ignore.” Brice shrugged. “We'll deal with it when it happens. It was unexpected today, but now that I'm aware of what could happen, we'll take care of it together.” “You're not listening to me. Shit! Then there's my list to deal with. It's already happening. I'm getting all kinds of calls about selling the damn thing.” “Your list?” Brice shifted his weight as he asked the question. “My client list. Mine is considered exceptional by this business. When an escort is ready to retire, they usually sell their list for profit. I don't need to and will probably just give it to Master Diggs and let him deal with it. But don't you see? There's no guarantee that my past won't pop up somewhere in the future. Probably at the most inopportune times, if Murphy's Law has anything to do with my fate.” “I don't care about any of that, Dakota,” Brice insisted, but he looked a little pale. “I'm not exactly the type of guy someone wants to take home.” Brice made a noise of disgust. “No one to take you home to.” Dakota rolled his eyes. “You just don't get it. You and I just can't work. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how to live this new life. How can I even think of having a relationship with someone when I don't know who I am?” Brice grabbed his shoulders and jerked him forward until their bodies were flush against each other. “I know who you are.” Then his mouth crashed down on Dakota's. The scent of Brice and his being so close melted Dakota's resistance. He returned the kiss with fervor, like an addict devouring his latest score. With a groan, he grabbed Brice's face in his palms and held him close.

The kiss lasted until they were both breathless. Dakota knew he should pull away but couldn't make his body move. “I'm not the same man as that day.” “Do you want me?” Brice asked, their lips touching. “Yes.” “You're the same man.” Brice's tongue lapped at his lower lip. Dakota groaned. “I wish it were that simple.” Brice chuckled and kissed Dakota's chin, then traveled to his neck, resting over his carotid artery. “It can be, Dakota.” Something about the sound of his name rolling off Brice's tongue gave Dakota goose bumps. Instead of stepping back, Dakota tilted his head slightly to the side and exposed more flesh. Brice's hands slid over his shoulders and down his arms until their fingers were entwined. “You kissed me that day. We did a lot of kissing, if I remember correctly.” Brice's breath was so hot on his neck. “So?” “Did you kiss your other clients?” Dakota didn't have to think about. “Rarely. Only when ordered. Like Winter did.” “Mmm, yes.” Brice's tongue lapped over the flesh that was giving away how fast Dakota's heart was beating. “She did that the first time. But after she left, you still kissed me. I never ordered you to. You wanted to kiss me. Demanded I kiss you, in fact.” Dakota swallowed hard. Damn! Brice was right. His first instinct was to deny it, but the word “no” wouldn't pass through his vocal cords. His mind replayed the many times they'd shared a kiss. Long, passionate kisses. Especially the one in the kitchen, when Brice had torn off that damn collar and announced no more games. “Yes,” he hissed.

“Fuck me, Dakota.” Dakota finally pulled away, putting some space between their bodies. He shook his head. “No, Brice.” “Hell, am I that undesirable?” Brice demanded. “Jesus, just the opposite, kid. But you're not ready.” “I haven't seen you in a month. How would you know if I'm ready or not? For all you know, I could have been out letting God-knows-who take me in a dark room in the back of a club.” He studied his onetime lover, taking note of his expression and his body language. “You're still an anal virgin. No cock has been inside you.” Brice's jaw twitched. “Are you sure?” “Positive.” “Damn!” Brice cursed and clenched his fists. A smile snaked across Dakota's lips. “You weren't promiscuous before you met me, and if what you think you feel about me is true, you wouldn't have gone out and become a whore-dog after I left.” “So you don't think what I feel for you is real?” “I believe you believe it. But it's not going to happen.” Brice blew out a breath of frustration. “Why the hell not? You still haven't given me a reason good enough as to why we can't try to be together.” Dakota closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He'd hoped that he wouldn't have to get this in depth with Brice, that his discouragement would be enough. He should have known it wouldn't be easy with this willful kid. Opening his eyes and meeting the waiting gaze, he spoke. “You deserve better than a washed-up whore. I'm nowhere near good enough for you. Used, somewhat damaged, goods.” “That's how you really see yourself?”

Brice's intense gaze had Dakota wanting to run away rather than face the truth. “It's not how I see myself. It's the truth. Remember when I told you that I once dated a client years ago?” “I was a onetime client. Doesn't affect us now.” The last place Dakota wanted to go was down this unhappy part of his life, but he had to make Brice understand. And now that thoughts of Ava had been plucked from his carefully packed chest of buried memories, Dakota couldn't stop the image of her flashing in his mind. He shook his head. “Yes, it does. In fact, everything in my past affects us in one way or another. But especially Ava.” “Is Ava the client you got involved with?” Dakota watched Brice, who was shifting his weight from foot to foot. A nervous gesture. “Yeah. She was beautiful and had a body that put Marilyn Monroe's to shame. Her face was perfect and should have been plastered all over magazines and billboards. Then there was the shitload of money her much older—and dead—husband left her.” His mind shifted back to when he was eighteen. He'd had a thing for blondes, and when she'd turned her attentions on him, he'd not only been flattered but love-struck, like he'd been hit by ten of Cupid's arrows. “She was a gold digger.” Dakota looked away from Brice. “I guess she was. Not that I saw it at the time.” MD had protested his involvement with Ava. Looking back now, Dakota realized that after his experience with Ava, he had religiously listened to MD's advice. “Winter's dad had just started to let me work for his company. Ava was my only client, so it was easy to be at her beck and call, and the sex was great. In return, she lavished me with gifts and enticing words of encouragement.”
94
Marty Rayne
“Not a bad gig.” Dakota scoffed. If only he'd known then what he knew now. Who would've guessed that money spoke much louder than common sense? Okay, MD did, but Dakota wouldn't listen to reason back then. “Lots of benefits. The attention was great, but I mistook it for love.” “Did you love her?” Brice asked, his expression full of intrigue. It never occurred to Dakota that she was using him. He thought that because they never spoke of his past or how they'd met, she didn't care about his status in the society she roamed. “I thought I did. But once Ava decided to expand her fortune with another man who could contribute to her greed, I realized I was just a plaything to pass the time.” What he didn't tell Brice was that Ava had orchestrated a private party with her new beau and several friends, one that centered on Dakota's already fantastic sexual abilities. The humiliation had been too much, and he'd barely kept it together as he'd performed the tasks required of his job. Dakota still had dark dreams about that night. When Ava told him what she had planned, he'd begged her to cancel the party. He'd declared his love and even asked her to marry him. But she'd quickly put him in his place: “I would never stoop so low as to marry a whore like you,” she'd sneered. “Your kind is for fun and games. A way to pass the time until something better comes along.” “What a bitch. So it was a bad ending.” Dakota shrugged with indifference. “You could say that. She moved on with her life, and I learned a valuable lesson about my station in mine.” His heart had shattered as he did what Ava paid him to do: Be a whore, then leave. Never to return to her ever again. Nor be as naive and innocent ever again. “So you see, mixing business and pleasure doesn't work.” His gaze shifted around the cabin, looking anywhere but at Brice as he spoke. “Now, as much of a torturous pleasure as it's been seeing you again, I hope you accept my

apologies. You're free to leave without worrying about me.” He tried to make leaving easy for the kid to do, but Dakota's chest was so tight, he thought it would burst open. He really wanted to take Brice into his arms again and kiss every delectable inch of his body rather than drive him off. “No.” Dakota stared at Brice with disbelief. “No?” Brice nodded and folded his arms over his chest. “You heard me. None of your reasons are viable. At least in my opinion, and I think that's the only one that really counts. Also, I'm not like Ava, looking for something to tide me over until someone better comes along. So unless you tell me you don't want me, I'm not leaving.” Dakota opened his mouth to say that he didn't want him and demand that he leave, but it was as if his voice box shut down and he couldn't speak. It was too late. He'd already told Brice what he wanted to know. How could he take back his earlier admission? Shit! He hated being pushed into a corner. Well, if Brice was going to push, he could push right back. “I want you, Brice. Since the first time I touched you, I wanted to be the one to fuck you and take your ass cherry,” he confessed. “However, that doesn't change who I am or my past, and all I've done has made me into this person that you see.” He paced the length of the kitchen as he continued to speak. “I once had a loving family. Perfect in the eyes of a seven-year-old. That is, until my father and older brother were killed by a drunk driver. I blamed myself. My mom blamed me.” “You were just a kid. It's not your fault some ass drove while drunk.” Dakota scoffed. “I had been sick with the flu for a few days and wanted to play hooky one more day. I could have gone to my brother's Little League game, but I was enjoying the time alone with the 'rentals. I begged Mom to stay home with me one more day and play board games. So if I hadn't been such a brat, we would've been with them.”

“And been killed too.” “Maybe not. We would've lingered longer at the field, my brother and I playing as we usually did. So we wouldn't have been on the road at the same time as that asshole. Bypassing the entire incident.” Brice growled. “You don't know that, Dakota.” Dakota shrugged. “Doesn't matter now, because the loss was too much for my mom. She started drinking. Then taking pills. When none of those worked anymore to numb her pain, she started using illegal drugs. At that point, I barely existed to her. You see, I look like my father, so when she looked at me, I reminded her of what she'd lost. But it was her many boyfriends who found use for me.” He paused and let out a long breath. This part was almost as hard to admit as his own mother not wanting him. “No,” Brice whispered, and his face paled. Good. He needed to hear the truth. The reason he'd never be good enough for love. Not from a man or a woman. “Punching bag or a replacement when my mom passed out. I eventually settled for the way that left the least amount of bruises. It also kept the school officials from knocking on my door.” Brice made a choking noise and looked sick. Dakota shrugged. He'd long ago accepted that part of his life. He couldn't change the past but learned he could make a future. “I ran off when I was fifteen. Lived in shelters and on the street. I did what I had to do in order to eat and survive. That kind of life can make a person hard-hearted.” “Your mom, she didn't…” His voice faded. “Probably glad I was gone. She never did come looking for me or report me missing. I used to check. But can't you see this from my perspective? If my own mother didn't love me, how could anyone else? How am I worthy of such an emotion?”

“It's not true.” Brice's words came out as a whisper. “Your mother's behavior is not your fault. Grief is a bitch that can fuck up the brain.” Dakota sucked in a breath. He truly believed every word he said. Even his relationship with MD was too close for comfort sometimes. The only exception he'd made was Winter, but he'd kept an arm's distance even in their friendship. Dakota continued, telling Brice things he'd never really spoken to another person about. “Anyway, I'd gotten into trouble with a pimp when I was seventeen. He swore I owed him a lot of money and that I stole his drugs. He was just pissed that I wouldn't sell his drugs. I'd seen what they did to my mom. I couldn't be responsible for someone else ending up like that. Selling sex was one thing, but I wouldn't contribute to that type of addiction.” “What did he do?” Brice's color was still pale, but Dakota had to give him credit for not booking it out of there. The kid was really determined. Dakota pushed back the dark memories of that time of his life. It would do neither of them any good to let them out. There were also details Brice didn't really need to know. “It wasn't a good experience, but it's the past. I don't need to relive it.” “Did that end it? How'd you meet Winter's father?” “The powers that be were watching over me, I guess. I was in bad shape when Sydney Howell, a madam, and Nate Jacobs, her protégé, found me. They were actually looking for a runaway that was rumored to have tangled with the creepy pimp who'd suckered me into his turf. Somehow, they got me out of there and helped me recover from the beating. Through them I met Master Diggs.” Dakota shook his head and stared at the counter. “Any normal person would've taken the opportunity to do something different with his life. I…I believed that there was nothing more out there for me than what I was doing. MD didn't force me into this career path. He wouldn't even let me work until I was eighteen. Made me finish school. I knew I was good at being an escort.

Could make a decent living under the proper supervision. That I learned from Sydney.” Brice leaned against the counter and wiped his hands over his face. The silence was thick, making Dakota edgy. Delving into his past made him feel as if the cabin were closing in on him. He needed air. Without a word, he walked to the French doors and pushed them open, stepping out onto the back porch he'd recently built. He was giving Brice an out. Knowing the truth about who and what he was, the kid could leave.

Chapter Sixteen Brice stood in the kitchen a little longer, his mind a mass of swirling uncertainty. He found it incredible that they shared a common element in their past: drugs and their awful effects on people's lives. Watching Dakota leave, even if it was to step outside onto the back porch, almost crippled his breathing. There was no doubt about it, Brice was in love with Dakota. A man who was abused as a child and who was now an ex-escort. A man who had spent his adult life being paid in exchange for companionship, and often for sex. Not that Dakota's past profession bothered Brice. If it weren't for that, they would've never met. Neither of them had uttered the word “love,” but that was all right. He knew Dakota wanted him. He'd admitted as much and hadn't kicked him out of the house. So there was still hope. While trying to sort out his thoughts, Brice walked until he found himself standing behind Dakota. The sun was shining through the surrounding trees, making it appear as if a strobe globe hung above the woods. “I'd like to see if we can work.” Dakota's body stiffened when Brice spoke, but he continued to lean on the porch railing, staring out into the forest. “Great sex isn't a sturdy foundation for a relationship. Those fall apart too easily.” “What we have is more than sex,” Brice insisted. He wanted to hold Dakota, caress him, and convince him that a relationship could work, that the past was not always an indication of the future.

Dakota spun around. “How can you say that? We spent twenty-four hours together. Most of that was spent having some sort of sex.” “True, but we also have common interests.” Before Dakota could speak, he continued. “I'm not saying we should move in together. Or vow undying love to each other right now. All I'm asking is to give us a chance. To try. Date. Get to know each other better. We've already got the awkward first-time sex out of the way. We know we're a good match in that regard.” Dakota let out an exasperated sigh. “You're not going to give up, are you?” Brice smiled and shook his head. “Nope. Us young'uns are tenacious when we set our sights on something we want.” “That you are. But I'm tired of games. I've played them too long with clients. I need truth and honesty. It's bad enough that I have to find myself when I'm thirty-five; I can't settle for any less.” “I can understand that.” The pressure in Brice's chest was lifting, and he felt happier and more himself than he had in nearly a month. “You say that, but you don't mean it, Brice. You have more than one bone from my closet of skeletons, yet you reveal nothing about yourself. All I have to do is mention your family, and you tighten up like a virgin's pussy. I don't want to feel like I'm walking on eggshells whenever the subject comes up. So, it's time to put up or shut up. Why are you so bitter about your family?” Brice's gut dropped like a heavy stone. Well, crap! He'd agreed too fast to the honesty part, but it was too late to take it back now. If he wanted to show Dakota that he was serious about this new, budding relationship, he knew he couldn't sidestep the question and leave it intact. Dakota had revealed his own troubled past. Brice's was mild compared to his. “Fine.” Only he didn't feel fine. He walked over to the patio chair near the doorway and sat on its edge. His eyes suddenly found the wood flooring very interesting. “It started when I was about twelve. My dad lost his job. He found odd jobs here and there after that, but none lasted long. He either quit going or

got fired. He and my mom started fighting a lot during that time, and he often stayed out till late at night. Sometimes he was gone for days at a time. I didn't understand much of what was happening during that time, as neither of them would talk to me about it. They both just said their marriage was going through some growing pains. Even after their worst fights, Mom still kept letting Dad come home.” Brice paused and wished the tears that sprang to his eyes would retreat. He hated dwelling on this time of his life, probably as much as Dakota did on his childhood memories. “This went on for a few years, my dad coming and going. When he was home, I realized he was strung out most of the time. He used anything that would make him forget the world existed. I never even learned why he felt the need to escape it through drugs and alcohol. Then things around the house started disappearing, and by then mom was working two jobs. I don't know if it was Dad who stole those things to pawn for drug money, or if it was Mom who sold our stuff to pay bills. Either way, Mom was supporting his habit by allowing him to stay.” “She must have really loved him,” Dakota said softly when Brice paused again to let his anger sweep through. “More like an idiot in my eyes.” Brice sighed before continuing. “I walked in on him one time as he was shooting up. I had a fit and tried to get him into rehab. To talk to someone. To be the dad I remembered and loved. He laughed at me and told me that the world was a cruel place, that his way was so much better. Less painful.” Brice stood up and paced, his hands clenching and releasing. These memories were of the worst part of his life. The cause of his bitterness toward his mother. “I came home from school one day and found him dead of an overdose. I can't help but blame my mom.” “Did she cause him to OD?” Dakota asked, his voice still soft.

“She may as well have stuck the needle in his arm and pushed the plunger. She only fed his addiction for her own sake.” “Didn't you say that your father wouldn't listen to anyone? What makes you think that he'd listen to her?” “She kept taking him back.” His voice hitched slightly before continuing. “She allowed him back into the house and into our lives, knowing what he was doing to himself. She'd rather him be home, no matter what shape he was in, than to have him leave and dishonor the vows they took. For better or worse. Richer or poorer. In sickness or health. It didn't matter that she worked two jobs to make ends meet, that he was strung out and siphoning all we had to feed his habit, or even that he'd leave for days on end. She embraced him every time he walked back into our home. My home. She didn't care about my needs or what it was doing to me. Because of her stupidity, I had a shitty childhood.” Brice let out a long breath. “Not long after my dad died, we moved here to start fresh. But the memory of him and all the shit that had happened lingered. The memory of seeing him so messed up and then finding him dead has never left me, and she doesn't understand. Never will. That's why I don't care to talk much about my family. Once I graduated from high school, I was out of that house and never looked back,” he said, lying about the last part. His past was a constant in his life, fueling his regrets. Brice closed his eyes and fought back the tears. Dammit! He'd sworn to never again cry about this. Warm, strong arms surrounded and comforted him. As if he could read Brice's mind, Dakota spoke softly. “Drug addiction is a nasty disease. Once they grab hold, they control a person. The addiction changes them. You were a child, unable to force an adult of free will to do as you wanted or needed. Even if it was for his own good.” Brice leaned back and allowed Dakota to console him. “I know that. I do. But I still can't help but feel like I could've done more.”

Dakota sighed and laid his chin on Brice's shoulder. “You tried. That's what matters.” Brice turned around, Dakota's embrace loosening just enough to let him before settling on him again. “Be with me, Dakota. Make love to me. Make me forget everything but you and the happiness you bring to my world.”
With that, Dakota's resistance shattered. As much as he fought the attraction, struggled with all the reasons they shouldn't be together, and tried to resist falling in love, he had to admit that his life could be much better with Brice around. Was it possible to find oneself while discovering love? Was it too late for him to fall in love? “What if it doesn't work between us?” he whispered, trembling slightly. Even with all the rules put in place, there was no guarantee it would work out. Could he live with that? One more failure to his list? “It will work.” “But…what if it doesn't?” Dakota persisted. He had to hear Brice's answer. “There will be no 'what if.' But I'll humor you. If this doesn't work out, I'd like to think that we'd part as friends and move on. It's never too late to find love. As much as it would hurt, we can't let it stop us from living the life we want.” Brice's words made Dakota think. Never too late to find love. He'd long ago given up on the idea of finding the love of his life, feeling he wasn't near good enough for such a beautiful, strong emotion and for a permanent attachment to another person. The greediness of his clients had jaded him to the good in this world. Was it possible that Brice could be the love of his life? Was he willing to risk his heart to see? “Hey”—Brice palmed Dakota's face—“we don't have to rush this. We can begin by going on a date. One date.”

Dakota's brows creased downward. “But…” Brice's finger touched Dakota's lips, stopping any further words from tumbling out of his mouth. “No more buts. Do you want to try dating me?” Dakota didn't hesitate, nodding his head. It was true. He wanted to spend time with Brice. Discover if they could be real partners. Take the risk even though he was scared. He kissed Brice's finger before taking hold of his wrist and pulling it away. “Can our date start now?” Brice smiled. He looked so sexy, Dakota's heart began to race. “Are there any rules to this date? Any don'ts?” Brice shrugged. “Not really. This isn't a typical start in a relationship. I just want to be with you. Winter mentioned that you had certain rules that you lived by. Are those still in effect?” Dakota made a grumbling noise. “If we're going to do this, there's only one rule: no games, only honesty.” Brice's grin widened, and his face lit up as bright as the sun. Guess there was no going back now. “Is your…um…invitation still on the table?” Brice's happiness gave way to nervousness, but he nodded. “I promise to be gentle.” Dakota kissed his sweet mouth and then deepened the kiss until he was drowning in passion. He guided Brice to the bedroom, not once releasing his grip on his lover. The joy that filled his body made him feel as if he were walking on air. It wasn't until his nose was assaulted with the scent of lavender that he stopped kissing Brice and took in his surroundings. “Wow,” Brice let out softly. “Looks like Marlo had some great seduction scene planned for you.”

Dakota let out a hiss before speaking. “That woman is a selfish, sadistic control freak. Trust me when I say that seduction was the furthest thing from her mind.” Brice's gaze followed Dakota's to the variety of extreme bondage equipment and toys that lay on the bed. “That—those don't really look like fun.” Dakota shook his head and let the shiver travel through his body. “Fun for her, but not for me.” “Holy shit!” Dakota didn't respond. He released Brice, knowing what he had to do. “Would you go get the trash can from the kitchen?” Brice hesitated a moment before nodding. “Sure.” Dakota clenched his trembling hands as he walked around the room, blowing out the candles. Humiliation overrode the passion and desire that had made him so happy just moments before. Brice knew about his past profession. Was aware of some of the things he'd endured at the hands of some of his clients. But having him actually see what one client had planned for him, thinking that he'd really want that… It was too much. There was no hope that Brice would still want him now. “Here, let me take those.” Brice gently took the load from Dakota's arms. He hadn't even realized that he'd picked up the apparatuses with which Marlo had meant to torture him, or that he had a death grip on them. Feeling like a spectator, Dakota watched Brice throw everything of Marlo's into the trash can. He walked around the room, collecting the candles and anything else that resembled the collection his ex-client had left, asking if he wasn't sure. Dakota could only nod his head, because the lump of mortification in his throat didn't allow him to speak.

Brice tied off the garbage bag and left the room. This was it. Brice wouldn't return. Dakota was sure of it. Who would want to be with someone who'd willingly allow others to use him in such a degrading way for money? Just one more reason to believe he didn't deserve the love Brice was offering. “Dakota, come lie down with me on the bed.” Dakota blinked several times, trying to clear his sight. Brice was standing in front of him, palms gently cradling his face. “You're still here?” Brice smiled, and Dakota's frozen insides started to thaw. “Of course I am. Now come here. You're shivering.” Brice was right. His body seemed to be quaking all over. Fear. He'd been scared that Brice would leave. After trusting enough to risk his heart, Dakota had faced his greatest fear: losing his heart. He barely remembered walking over to the bed and Brice stripping him of his clothes, then his own. They lay together under the comforter. “I never wanted you to see that. What some of my clients enjoyed doing to me. Looking back now, I have to wonder if the money was worth the damage it did to my mental state.” Brice stroked his hair and pulled him closer. “I'm not that naive, Dakota. I'm sure you've done things you didn't really want to do. I understand. We all do things that we're not proud of sometime in our lives.” “You're not old enough to have made those kinds of mistakes.” Dakota buried his face into Brice's neck, the musky scent of his lover masking the odor of lavender still hanging in the air. “Maybe not the big ones, but I've got many years left to live. I'm sure there'll come a day when I have a serious brain fart and wig out.” “You sound older when you talk like that. You sure you're only twentythree?”

Brice laughed. “Almost twenty-four, but Winnie says that my mind is older than my chronological years.” “She's right.” Dakota lifted his head and kissed Brice's neck. “Are you really sure about this?” “Are you sure you're not getting Alzheimer's already? You asked me that before, and I told you yes, I'm sure. I have you in my arms, naked. I'm not changing my mind.” He pushed his hips against Dakota's body, and Dakota could feel Brice's cock hardening. “No old-man jokes, kid. And I was talking about us, not sex. I already know I'm going to fuck you until you can't get out of this bed.” Brice growled, and Dakota bit his throat with a groan. All thoughts of his past, the humiliation, and all doubts floated away, replaced by a rush of desire flowing through his body. His focus was on the warm body pressed against him. “In the drawer next to you are condoms and a tube of lube. Get them.” Brice somehow managed to do as he was told without untangling himself from Dakota. It was amazing how flexible one could be with the right motivation. Dakota took the lube Brice handed him and didn't hesitate to make his next move. He coated his fingers with the lotion, then did the same to Brice's asshole, slipping in one finger, then two, stroking and stretching it a few times before adding a third. “So fucking tight.” Brice moaned and shifted so that Dakota could slide farther in. “Please.” “I shouldn't rush.” Dakota kissed his lips lightly, keeping a close eye on his reaction. “Hell's bells, Dakota. The lessons from that weekend be damned. I've thought about this for weeks. If you make me wait much longer, I'm going to burn up.”

“You're hot, but you haven't even come close to experiencing the fire I can ignite in you.” He nipped at Brice's shoulder hard enough to leave a mark but not to break the skin. He planned to mark his lover all over. Brice whimpered and bucked his hips upward before sliding back down on Dakota's fingers. The growl from Brice's throat became frantic when Dakota pulled out of his body and positioned himself between his legs. “Lift your legs until they're propped on my shoulders.” Dakota's stomach clenched tighter in anticipation of officially claiming Brice—and never letting go. “If I hurt you, tell me and I'll stop.” Brice shook his head. “You won't hurt me.” The confidence in Brice's eyes and voice strengthened Dakota's resolve that he was doing the correct thing, and that maybe Brice was right. It wasn't too late for love. Moving as slowly as he was physically able to, Dakota slid into Brice's waiting body. The patience and determination it took to not thrust his cock inside and be wrapped in Brice's hotness made Dakota grind his teeth, but it was worth it when he was balls to balls with Brice. “Dak—” His name was cut off with a groan. Dakota took it slow, sliding in and out of his lover, giving him the most pleasure he could from this first experience. He knew that the first time wasn't always pleasant if the man was not properly prepared. He was determined to make this the best memory he could for Brice. “You okay?” “Faster,” Brice panted. “You sure?” he asked through clenched teeth, trying hard to control his body's response to the eagerness painted in Brice's expression. Brice rolled his eyes and nodded.

Dakota quickened his pace, delving into Brice's hot ass a bit deeper. He groaned, and his body shuddered as his balls tightened. Already he was close to coming. Damn! He had to hold out. Brice reached down and grabbed his dick, pumping it in rhythm to Dakota's movements. This nearly brought Dakota over the edge, but somewhere in his mind, he was conscious enough to be careful with Brice. Still, his body was overwhelmed with desire, lust…and love. A spurt of warm fluid hit Dakota's stomach, the very sensation enough to allow his own release. “Brice,” he cried out in ecstasy, feeling his body drain but not his heart. That only filled to near-bursting with love for Brice. “That was—” “Incredible,” Dakota finished with a smile, rolling over to his side and wrapping his arms around Brice. “Thank you, Dakota. You made everything perfect.” Dakota scoffed. “More like a pain in the ass.” Brice laughed, then said in a serious tone, “I love you. I'll never forget how the breath was knocked out of me the first time I saw you. I never dreamed love would feel this…great. I'm just glad it's with you.” Dakota let out a sigh and tightened his grip. “Me too, kid.” He swallowed hard as he opened himself up to the emotions pouring into his heart. “Love was not on my menu of life. I'm glad you're stubborn enough to stick around.” He kissed Brice's neck. “I love you, Brice.” “Never too late.” Brice smiled sleepily. “Never too late,” Dakota echoed.
