You can cheer yourself up in lots of ways. Try being friendly to someone in need of a friend. Do something you think is fun, like riding a bike or putting on a show. Keep thinking happy thoughts. And even when you don’t feel lovable, remember that you are loved by many people.

Nancy Carlson
has written and illustrated nearly 50 children’s books, bringing her lovable characters to life with comical moral lessons. Some of her most popular titles include Think Big!, It’s Not My Fault!, Smile A Lot!, and Harriet and George’s Christmas Treat. Ms. Carlson knew in kindergarten that she wanted to “make pictures and tell stories.” Many of her stories come from her childhood experiences, and all contain universal and timeless situations. Ms. Carlson lives and works in Minneapolis, where she enjoys sports, playing in the snow, eating her favorite food (cookies!), and spending time with her family and their many pets.
